Tucked away in the corners of Amsterdam’s canal streets, is a tiny coffee bar that caters to your coffee needs. Prices are agreeable (EUR2 for an espresso / EUR3,40 for a flat white) and their homemade sweets are a pure delight. The place is decorated in a semi-modern boho chic style. It’s small but it’s cozy and that has a sort of charm to it. There’s a cat too, standing by the door kingly, greeting you as you come in. Only coffee lovers allowed.

Beautiful little place on the corner! Had a perfect, delicious cappuccino and we got to see Binki the kitty! He was curled up on a pillow and very sweet. Cats & coffee, can't get any better than that <3

One of my favorite spots in the city ❤️ The vibes are amazing. It’s the perfect place for reading, working remotely or just taking a break! The staff is super friendly and the coffee is also very good ☕️ I was also lucky enough to interact with their lovely visitor 🐱

Okayish coffee and average pastries. Not very cozy inside, but there is a nice window with a canal view. You are not allowed to work on a laptop here(what I was told), but than I saw another person there working on a tablet with keyboard, so not sure where is the difference there 🤷‍♀️

Great place for coffee. Pastries are decent but not remarkable. Friendly staff :) It has a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere although it’s quite crowded most of the time and sometimes it is difficult to find a spot. There are “no-laptop” spots so there is a good balance between a working atmosphere and chilling and chatting.

This place was recommended to us from a local person and it did not disappoint! Yummy pastries and coffee/chai. The atmosphere was peaceful and there was even a coffee shop cat that was sleeping on one of the nearby tables. They had one area sectioned off for people that wanted to work with their laptops and the other area for others wanting to socialize. If we had been in Amsterdam longer we would have been here more often. Highly recommend!

One of the best apple pies in town. The coffee is also excellent. Nice interior and pleasant atmosphere are the main reasons to visit this cafe. It is located in a quiet part of the city next to the canal. If you're passing by on foot or by bike, take a break and stop by. Recommendation.

One of the best coffeeshops in Amsterdam. The vibe in here is really good, the interior is very cute and they got their own designed cups as well. The place has a lovely cat, the coffee is really good and their apple pie is one of the best in the city, very unique flavour!

  • 5/5 Vin L. 8 months ago on Google
Very decent and flavourful coffee. Got busy when people wanted to take shelter from the rain, but that in turn made it cosy albeit crowded. Delicious apple pie. If they had the option to have the pie warmed and served with a scoop of ice cream I would've paid for it. Bonus was the cat for company.

Came here as it was supposed to be one of the best coffee places in Amsterdam. Upon entering, we really liked the cosy style of the cafe but sadly the coffee was a huge disappointment. Had the latte and latte macchiato and it just tasted like a huge cup of diluted milk with barely any coffee taste. Cake was also dry. Moreover the prices are pretty steep so it was really not worth it. Only gave it 2 stars cos of the nice chill ambience.

Excellent pour overs. They had a menu of 7 or 8 options, and it was brewed really well. I think they held on to it until it cooled just enough to be the perfect drinking temperature. For me, the chocolate notes came through as well as I've ever had. Superb! In terms of interior, it's quite small, and filled up rapidly on the weekend, so you may want to plan to take your coffee to go.

Cosy, warm, and very welcoming. I sat on the bench across from the door and this cute cute cat made itself comfortable on my lap :) P.S. Their banana bread is pretty good!

We came for the cat and we were not disappointed. If you’re lucky enough he’ll even sit on your lap! Coffee was really good. We got a nice spot by the window, perfect for people watching. Gets quite full quite quickly.

When we got here around 3pm it was quite busy, we waited a few minutes and luckily grabbed a spot near the window. We had a coffee, matcha and ginger tea here! There was a cute cat who hung around the cafe. Great atmosphere and drinks!

Welcoming and smiling team that day. It was cold outside and it felt warm and cozy inside. Took a latte to go. I was surprised by the quality of the milk foam. Not to dry. Yummy.

Best coffee we've had in town, having tried several other well-rated places. Both the flat white (colombia) and the V60 (ethiopia) were excellent; the hand brew especially really gave the impression they coaxed every bit of flavour and fragrance from the bean. Worth a detour.

(Translated by Google) The cafe has gone bad. There is more milk than coffee and it was not fresh. The coffee berry tea is very strange. The milk wasn't fresh. It was sour. Also the tea from coffee berry was weird. My friend is an expert in coffee and she wasn't satisfied with the tea. (Original) Кафе испортилось. Молока больше чем кофе и оно было не свежее. Love this spot. In the city, but in a nice quiet neighborhood. Inside is warm ,friendly and great atmosphere. Staff was kind and patient considering how busy it was. The bathroom was adorable . Also had nice merchandise for sale . Recommend a stop in! Enjoy ☕️

I went there because it's supposed to be one of the best places to get a good coffee in Amsterdam, but it was a disappointment! I don't recommend! Being Portuguese (Portugal is one of the countries where you can drink the best coffee in the world) I didn't expect to taste the best coffee in the world, but I didn't expect to be deceived either: I went in, got in line and when it was my turn I asked the lady what was the difference between the 2 sizes that were on the menu. She didn't say anything, just pointed to the 3 different sized cups that were on the counter. I ordered the large Cappuccino. When I went to pay, she told me they didn't accept coins or notes, just credit cards. It was funny because she had coins in her hands! I paid with credit card and she told me to wait next to the counter. While waiting for my drink I looked around and noticed that all the tables were taken, but most people had already finished eating and were just chatting. Because I was visiting the city all day, I just wanted to sit down and have a good coffee! But suddenly the gentleman who was preparing the drinks turns to me, asks me if the big cappuccino was for me, I say yes and he gives me a Cappuccino to take away. I never ordered a drink to take away! Nobody asked me if I wanted a drink to take away! That's when I realized I had overpaid. I tasted the coffee and it wasn't anything special! I've had much better cappuccinos at other Amsterdam restaurants. Note: You can see in the photo that the top it's not right. I tried to close the cup, I asked for help and no one helped me.

Okeish coffee, no pastries on a Friday during lunch break. Staff was busy chatting while the line was getting pretty long. The pin machine is on a chair far from the counter. Pretty much all over the place. Definitely they could do better

Nice, cozy place for coffee (not only black) and cake in a cute corner house. I had an iced coffee, which was good, and a piece of apple cake, which was great. Would order both things again! Everyone was friendly and there was a cute cat inside. To me the prices seemed a little bit high, but well, it's Amsterdam. 🙃 And for the quality I am happy to pay more than what I'm used to. I'd definitely come back!

11 am on a Wednesday and it's pretty full here. Seems like a popular little cafe. We ordered a cappuccino and flat white... Was good but the coffee wasn't as smooth as I had expected. They have some healthy snacks available and also WiFi. Lots of people seem to be sitting in here reading, studying or working on their laptop. You can't use your laptop here on weekends, which is fair enough.

A warm corner cafe nearby Rijksmuseum but still in a quiet street so you can enjoy a cup of good coffee facing the canal. Absolutely love their own roasted coffee which gives a little bit taste of caramel and nuts. We ordered latte and flat white, also ordered pastries to go with our coffee and the mushroom pastry is awesome!

We came here with high expectations based on the reviews but we just had an OK experience. I found their cappuccino to be very much on the milky side and the coffee flavours not coming through at all. Unfortunately that was not to my liking. The husband had French press Colombian coffee and that was OK, but still a bit flat. Overall our expectations weren't met for a specialist coffee place. We also had the espresso brownie which was good. The overall ambience is good but it is a very popular spot so tends to be quite busy always. Good for the vibe but not ideal if you are looking for a quiet relaxing spot.

Simple, but stylish place in the heart of Amsterdam. Always full of coffee lovers, hard to find a place to seat inside, but definitely worth is. We tried this time the chai latte and the banana bread, but next coffee for sure! 🥰

Lovely little place with great coffee and teas. Cozyness level: cat (as in yes, they have a cat :) ) Did not try their sweets but the legend goes they're awesome too.

  • 4/5 Patty Goodman H. 1 year ago on Google
Coffee was smooth and tasty, granola with yogurt and berries was very good. Nice views. Only thing holding back from 5 star for me was things not related to food. It was crowded and warm, and it would have been nice to open the windows. Unclear how dirty dishes are removed, several sitting on tables. I'm not a fan of wooden cutlery. The take away for granola was in a paper coffee cup.

Oh such a nice cute little cafe. The coffee and the cake is also soo good. It is often crowded though, so you have to struggle a bit to get a nice seat. But lovely ambience, staffs, decor, location and ofcourse coffee. The cat makes this place even more valuable.

We went yesterday for a take away coffee due COVID restrictions in Amsterdam nowadays. The coffee was quite good, but the service was not the one expected. We had this place in our list of suggested coffee spots in the city but unfortunately the service didn't match with the quality of the coffee. Not friendly at all, my boyfriend asked for coffee suggestions and they just ignored his comments regarding a type of coffee he got a time ago from another location and they just said he was wrong, when this is something up to each person experience. Not even a smile given during the whole conversation, while we were trying to be as friendly as we could in this type of interactions. It's a pitty when a good quality product is reduced by the customer service. Won't come back to this location.

Nice and cozy cafe on a quieter street corner in central Amsterdam. Really nice location near the canal. Amazing interior and a good place to meet up with friends over a cup of coffee, or come by yourself for a relaxed moment, or take away and enjoy the canalside. Quick service even when crowded.

Popped into Back to Black before visiting a museum nearby. I had heard about this place online and it certainly held up to its reviews. Cozy coffee place with a variety of drinks and several tables inside. The prices here were also cheaper than expected, especially for pour overs. The vietnam blend pour over was nicely made and served at drinkable temperature. The falvor was more leafy (rooibos?) with slight walnut, and I did not taste any honey. Pleasant like a tea. The decaf columbia pour over was oddly savory like an Asian bun. I usually am not a fan of columbia-based beans but this one was enjoyable. Stray away from the latte though, it was too milky, the espresso flavor was not very present.

Class coffee, especially when behind the bar there's Daniele. He's such a talented Barista. I went there pretty much every day during a two-week work trip. His espressos, flat whites and, most of all, filters are outstanding. Even more importantly, they have amazing service and everyone working there goes out of their way to give you a pleasant experience. Legit can't wait to go there again 👌
