It's rare that I write a review here, but Dr Falafel has gone above and beyond. My favourite falafel place in Amsterdam! So good, wow. The owner is very passionate about his product and that really comes through in the end result. While it's not somewhere you can sit inside, the atmosphere is great because Dr Falafel is super friendly.

Omg one of the best falafel I've ever had! If you don't want to pay €27 for a bowl of ramen but want the warm crispy well balanced falafel pita of your life (for a mere €8) after a day traipsing around Amsterdam's galleries then Go Here! I'd go back in a heartbeat

Really tasty pita bread falafel with good spice from green chilly I think. We took medium spicy and felt like I was eating green chilly chutney from India.

We really enjoyed their sourdough pita, it was really good for us. The falafel was a bit different than the one we usually had (less spices it feels), but was still tasty! As someone who can tolerate spiciness, the spicy one was not spicy at all for me. The people were nice and friendly. Will go back again for another quick lunch!

Very tasty and well filled falafel pita. The falafel balls have the perfect consistency and are not dry as is unfortunately often the case elsewhere. Great value for money. Doctor Falafel was very nice and fun to talk to.

The falafel they serve is super good and the hummus and cucumbers inside are too. Everything is super fresh and the staff is really kind and polite. Please try it!! P.S. get a passion fruit lemonade from there, it’s the real deal.

Was searching for the perfect quick-bite/lunch spot that was cheap. Could not have found a better spot. Only one item on the menu. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful presentation. Friendly owner. Efficient. Hearty and fills you up. Recommend.

Delicious! There's no place to sit, which I had assumed there was because the Google overview indicated dine-In as well as pickup. I took it to go, but since it was cold outside, the falafel was not crispy anymore by the time I got to it Even then it was fabulous. Very impressed.

Delicious Falafel. I expected it to be a place where you can sit but it is just a booth on the corner of the street, but it really is worth it. The falafel was very delicious and the guy who made it was really friendly. I am happy I discovered this. It's definitely a recommendation. I'll we back.

Tucked away on Nassaukade in Amsterdam is Dr. Falafel, a quaint falafel takeaway that may not have a lengthy menu but more than makes up for it with the quality of its offerings. The moment you step in front of this small but charming eatery, you're greeted by the friendly owner, whose passion for serving great food is immediately evident. Dr. Falafel specializes in making, as the name suggests, falafel. And they do it exceptionally well. Each falafel is a delightful blend of spices, perfectly crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside. The flavors are a testament to the freshness of the ingredients used, and each bite takes you on a flavorful journey. Despite the limited menu, there's choice in the sauces and spice level. The servings are generous, ensuring that you leave feeling full and content. The simplicity of the menu also means that each item is prepared with attention and care, which is clearly reflected in the taste. The atmosphere at Dr. Falafel adds to the overall experience. The owner's warm and welcoming demeanor makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. His enthusiasm for his craft and the genuine interactions he has with patrons make dining here a uniquely personal experience. Located conveniently on Nassaukade, it's a perfect spot for anyone exploring Amsterdam and looking for a quick, yet satisfying meal. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has a cozy ambiance that invites you to linger. In conclusion, Dr. Falafel on Nassaukade is a must-visit for anyone in Amsterdam looking for authentic, mouth-watering falafel served with a side of exceptional hospitality. The combination of delectable food, the owner's friendliness, and the comfortable setting makes this small takeaway a hidden treasure in the city.

The medium spicy falafel pita is addictive! I keep coming back for a quick lunch or dinner if I find myself cycling past. Well worth a stop in order to sit by the canal and enjoy one of the best lunches under €10 in town.

Describing this falafel in one word: phenomenal! It’s very satisfying and even addictive, and it has a good amount of flavor without any ingredient being overpowering. We’ll definitely come back every time we’re in the Netherlands (mainly for the falafel, but the owner is a very friendly lad, too! ;-)).

Wow.. honestly without doubt the best falafel pita I have ever had. I keep coming back at least once a week (eventhough its a 15 min bike ride from my home). The owner is also super sincere and friendly. He makes sure every single pita is as good as the next one. Cannot recommend enough.

The falafel was great. 6 euros is very cheap comparing Amsterdam prices. I’ll become regular here

Wow wow wow!! Super tasty freshly made falafel 🥙 I ordered it extra spicy and it was on point😍 Super friendly service. Will definitely be one of my new staples in Amsterdam.

Yup the rating is justified. This place makes legit food. Never been to Middle East hence I cannot comment on the authenticity of the falafel, but not matter what , the food is very very good. Flavours are strong and to the point. We asked to extra spicy and man that was a mistake. It got too hot for us. Spice level are strong hence go for mild or medium :). Good job Dr.

Randomly found this place while waiting at the light and it turned out to be the best shawarma of my life! The falafel is perfectly soft yet crispy, and all the other things like pickles and tahini complement it perfectly.

  • 5/5 Jolien M. 1 year ago on Google
Super delicious. Falafel is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Delicious sauce and salads. The pita is also fresh, tasty and soft, which makes eating it all on the go really easy. Sadly I now work around the corner, so I'll definitely be gaining some extra pounds from my regular visits.

The best I’ve had in years: golden, ethereally light falafel, fluffy pita, and the perfect zhug for a bit of heat. Even the vegetables were expertly chopped for ideal proportions. An outstanding sandwich and an excellent value. The doctor knows his stuff.
