I can easily say the best coffee in Amsterdam or maybe Netherlands. Tried a lot of drinks with different origins, all was awesome. Double espresso, filter coffee, flat white and Cappuccino, couldn't be better. I loved Kenya and El Salvador in espresso and Ethiopia in filter. They sell the beans they use in lovely jugs as well. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

FUUUUUUUUUKU, this place is hip. I’ll add to the chorus of reviews saying this is some of the best coffee in town. Serious baristas who know and care about caffeine. Also has a real fun quirky vibe where I find many other good coffee joints to be very similar in aesthetic. The baristas told me there considering doing a pasta + wine night, I would certainly sign up for that! Super excited to see this place expand beyond coffee. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for!

The right place for drinks— I had a cappuccino, with natural processed medium roasted beans I chose. The subtle sweet after taste is very pleasant and satisfying, originally I planned to visit other 5 cafes and taste different beans but this cup had cancelled all my plan. If I already found what I was looking for, no need to keep trying others ;) Very helpful and friendly staff member, cheerful and warm!

One of the best cafes I’ve visited in Amsterdam, I almost don’t want to tell people so they don’t start swarming it. Without a doubt the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had in my life, and a pretty good piece of banana bread as well.

Ignoring the obvious joke about "Fuku? I only wanted a coffee", I said out loud to no-one on particular that this is the best latte I've had in Amsterdam. They've got an A+ donut game going on, as well.

Exceptional coffee - the best coffee roaster in Amsterdam! Nice staff, nice vibes, with complex and delicious coffee. My go to for home brew also

Simply the absolute best coffee experience in Amsterdam. Supreme beans, not pretentious, very well extracted coffee and extremely nice baristas. They set the bar way too high for the rest.

I first heard of friedhats through my local Cafe here in Perth Australia. These guys have been dishing out the most awesome roasts and spreading them across the globe so I thought it was high time I dropped by for a visit during my eurotrip. The FUKU Cafe location isn't exactly central Amsterdam, so it was a bit of a destination venue for us. 15min tram ride to a more laidback part of Amsterdam which my guess was intentional as the vibes were CHILL when we walked in. People had their furry friends in and around the cafe. They also had a cool recycle chute for their reusable bean bottles and a vintage vending machine down the front to dispense aforementioned bottles. Need I get started on the actual coffee? Best pourover of my eurotrip was consumed in this place. Perfectly extracted, tasting notes shining through. The owner was down to chat and the merch on offer was cool to boot. If I lived in Amsterdam, no doubt I'll be riding my hipster fixie to this joint every morning before the grind. Must visit for any specialty Coffee lover.

If you want to try REAL specialty coffee you have to come here and try some of their filter coffees. Hand crafted drinks and really friendly people make this place special! It can be quite busy but it is definitely worth it 🙂 also try their beans for home their some of the best you can get 🙏🏻

Really nice and well crafted filter (pourover) coffee, and they sell amazing beans too. In nicer weather the garden is great to sit in, but beware that smokers will also smoke there if 2nd hand smoke bothers you. The staff is also friendly and helped me pick which beans to try/buy based on my preferences.

Cool spot with good music and nice seating. Great coffee served and beans on sale with wide range of growing region options. Just not a huge fan of the -pointless- cling film round the treats.

The Fuku cafe is nice. They serve their delicious coffee, done in the finest ways. Had a superb espresso from a colombian bean and a delicious v60. The baristas were very nice and the service was excellent. The cafe itself doesn't have big tables, so it's not the place you go to sit in large groups for brunch. But it's an excellent option to grab a good coffee with a few friends.

Really happy with the flat white and cortado that we had here. It was a fairly fruity roast and the baristas did a good job at making both taste great. It was very busy on a Saturday morning, but there were enough seats. Staff were also very friendly and the pastries were pretty good.

What an amazing coffee experience! Friedhats are our go to roasters when we visit Amsterdam or when we are having our v60 back at home. We tried cappuccino and latte and both of them were rly fragrant and tasty! Stuff was helpful and very pleasant! Must try if you haven't already!

Great place, excellent 👌 ☕ coffee, lovely staff. Usually I'm drinking flat white (milk foam on 65°) here they are makeing on 40° (typical mistake from all "professional baristas"), place was almost full with people with good energy that save the situation, coffee (friedhats) is great quality. 🙏 See yaa again I hope so soon. 👋

Best coffee beans for filter coffee along with the friendliest barista. The barista has a huge well of knowledge and will gladly help you find something you’d like or recommend another place that could help. The beans are also sustainably sourced and seasonal.

I've tried more than 100 different coffee roasters and Friedhats is currently my favorite coffee roastery in Europe for every day coffees. I am especially impressed by their roast profiles and their consistency. I don't know how they do it, but they manage to roast all of their coffees without having the slightest bitterness or unpleasant acidity, while simultaneously not drying them out (@Friedhats, if you could share your secret with me, I would be very thankful). And I am a fan of their selection of coffees too. All I could wish for, is a more frequent selection of 90+ coffees.🤞

By far the best specialty coffee in Amsterdam, the location is a little far for me but the tasty brew and the treats they have surely justify the long bike ride (and maybe even moving to B&L ;) )

I had been wanting to go there for YEARS, and finally could! The Salvador filter was excellent, and so was the Ethiopian we tasted. I wish I could live next to it and go there as often is I want.

Excellent coffee. Roasted beans and beverages. Highest quality, I always go there to restock my beans.

  • 5/5 Charles C. 2 years ago on Google
Friedhats is a specialty roastery and cafe with a very local vibe. All filter and espressos are served single origin with a huge range including 5-6 standard and 2-3 “special” beans (extra small batch beans from premium auctions). I would definetely recommend the almond croissant too to pair! Plenty of seating at the counter and outside on the front bench and rear garden area.

Recently got to try their beans at ULMUS bakery, tasted like more so went to the FUKU Cafe on a rainy day for a warming cup of true specialty coffee. La Maria natural Colombian had a very nice level of funk that was reminiscent of a malty IPA. Les penas Guatemala was gentle, sweet and milky as an oat cortado. Had to grab a bottle of beans, which proved to be so fresh the seal popped of when I twisted the lid. Overall an awesome place, highly recommended!

Just awesome! I was running a bit late due to the tram being delayed but was still welcome to have some delicious, perfectly brewed coffee, a good chat and answers and advice to all my coffee related questions! Staff was super friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable, thank you for the good time and great coffee! Will definitely visit again! :D

  • 5/5 Jyl X. 1 year ago on Google
Outstanding coffee shop, definitely stop here and treat yourself! I ordered an oatmilk flat white and it was total perfection, the roast they selected stood up to the oatmilk with a great balance in taste, which can sometimes get lost in a FW. Very unique, beautiful cup of coffee. I returned the next day for more. Will be back! ⊂(´・◡・⊂ )∘˚˳°

  • 5/5 Collin S. 1 year ago on Google
This place is so dope. They have multiple barista champions and all their filter coffee is pour over and all unique. You will spend more than usual on the pour over but it may be some of the best coffee you'll ever have.

Fuku was recommended to me by a colleague. It was totally worth it to pass by for a visit on a sunny Saturday! The ambiance was great, there was enough space to have a seat in the garden and the coffee was the cherry on top 😁

Great cafe, ordered a filter coffee and could choose from over 10 different kinds of beans. The guy behind the counter recommended me a one with fruity and floral tones. The coffee I got was absolutely amazing. Will definitely come back again!

Best coffee in Amsterdam! Love the relaxed atmosphere and great service. They are knowledgable and pleasant and you are taken good care of there. The only negative is that they are so good they are often crowded, but it’s worth waiting a bit in line for!

We heard the hype and decided that we needed to see it for ourselves. The coffee was great. The blends for my latte were velvety and felt like a hug in the mouth. The place was super chill, with everyone just enjoying the Sunday vibes. Would highly recommend. This place would be a winner if they had a larger brunch menu, but maybe that would take away from the great coffee, so it’s perfect the way it is. ??

The best place in Amsterdam (maybe even one of the best in Europe) to try some of the most amazing specialty coffee the world has to offer. You can walk in for a quick, easy and delicious coffee, but you can also hang around at the bar, chat for hours and try some amazing specials. Bread and cakes from the local artisan bakery Ulmus, local cheeses from Kef, and carefully selected beers and wines. A must visit if you're a coffee enthusiast!
