There is a deep, rich history as you enter the doors of the FIRST coffee shop in Amsterdam that was brave enough to operate and allow smokers to visit the basement! The various displays show information on times past, and the upstairs coffee is absolutely delicious!!! Duck your head below the atarircase ceiling and climb downstairs and enjoy a fresh smoke!!! There are various mementos for sale throughout the store and the atmosphere is fantastic!!! I would like to visit the other locations around the world sometime!

No time for customers to advise, the waiter was rude because it took me a bit longer to decide what I take instead of explaining me anything and to help me decide quicker. Young tourist going there, they have people to check Ids beautiful cause the persons going there are so young! not recommended!

The place was quite beautiful. In addition, the employees are both very funny and smiling. Service was also pretty fast. I can say that the prices are reasonable by Amsterdam standards. However, after a certain time, they don’t serve the alcohol-free and hot drinks. I think this is very wrong. Other than that everything was pretty good.

This green things are amazing. Just smoke and enjoy and they sell really cute things in their store.

You are not allowed to take pictures inside and that is totally normal. Place is spacious with lots of sitting room, you can bring your own weed and do try their hot chocolate with waffles. Happy trip!

This particular Bulldog cafe didn't feel hospitable enough with that lady bully walking around. I think the place and remaining staff around are chill, but never got so mistreated in Netherlands in my 2 years as this waitress. Give her a smoke and ask her to peace the f out please.

The lady that is working as a bartender should be fired on the spot. The way she is treating customers is absurd. I asked her if I can have 3 energy drinks and she said Don’t u see I am working. After 5 minutes she came again to the bar where I repeated her my order in a kind tone, where she answers You are still not understanding that I have job to do. I told her You can be polite with your customers and there is no need for that behavior, where she responds with I think I am doing my job correctly and you should wait. She is not for that job and this was the only bad scene that I had in any coffe shop where I visited. She should be fired as mentioned in other reviews as well. Cheers

Extremely rude staff. They were extremely disrespectful to my mother, who was eager to try one of their edibles as she was a first time user. The staff uses dutch directness as an excuse for blunt rudeness. They only wanted to rush them along the purchase. Zero patience, zero empathy, zero customer centric attitude, even for the already low dutch service standards. There are many more friendlier coffeeshops around. Don't waste your money here.

Highly recommend beginner cookies for people who had no experience with weed in any kind. They are tasty, you don't really taste the weed inside and the effects start to appear after about an hour. It was not strong, mainly a relaxed feeling. Reccomend!

I’ve been there 3 times and I love their drinks and all. But, the last time it was crowded so i just grabbed one of the chairs in the counter to sit and the staff told me that I’m not allowed to sit here! I told him ok and I took another chair in another corner , and another one told me you can’t sit here! So I was like why you are putting chairs in the counter while you don’t want anyone to sit here!

The fact that is the first ever coffe shop in the world should be a reason enough to decide to spend at least a few hours there. Amazing interior, exterior even better. Coffe was amazing, staff very nice and helpfull (especially when it comes to recommandations which sort to buy). It's in the center, so you can easily walk there. If u heaven't been here, you heaven't been in Amsterdam. Founded in 1975.

Yes, well, ummmmm......classic and original Amsterdam 'coffee' shop with strong smokes. An Amsterdam institution, so a visit was in order, but I personally find these weed coffee shops a bit too 'pub-like', although always quieter and more laid-back than any place serving evil alcohol. There are quite a few Bulldogs strewn around Amsterdam but this is the original. Worth a visit.

A very touristy packed coffeeshop with a cool Dutch aesthetic styled bar. The staff are very friendly and attentive and directed us downstairs for bud purchases. It is located near the red light district and therefore a very touristy area, packed with people. The staircase into the coffeeshop is quite narrow and more of a single file lane which can cause traffic when entering and leaving the coffeeshop. They serve food and drinks as well as space cakes to try! The bud prices are a little steep for tourist consumption, but the range of strains are amazing! Definitely recommend the purple cheese!

If your in Amsterdam for the first time and are here to explore the herb history, then you have to check out the Bulldog. Known worldwide, they serve food, drink and merchandise as well as other essentials! The herb isn’t the greatest so buy elsewhere at somewhere like the plug, greenhouse or voyagers and indulge here 😉

Wow. Every day you will come the shop is full of people. But where you are. The service always handled it with respect and knowledge. Wait 5 minute and you got more that you expected. Really good shop over years. And thanks for the girl of the bar for coffee and cleaning skills ✊🏾😉

If you want something light and nice, go for yellow haze. A third of a blunt will do, they pack you like you're a daily smoker or something

Don't leave without trying the Space pop. But I warn you, it's strong!

That lady waitress has just spoiled my mood with her bossy attitude. We eventually left without ordering anything and infact gave up on going to other bull dog coffee shops just because of this experience.

I went there three times and it was always a good experience. There friendly and the bouncers are always funny. I felt welcomed as a solo female traveler. The edibles are yummy and definitely make you feel good. The sativa will give you the best high. They give you 4 prerolleds for like 14 € and half was enough for me and other light weights. But please don’t go there for your first high and expect anything majorly. Nonetheless the muffins are nice for beginners

Good vibe, chilled atmosphere, but I wouldn't say employers were very eager to help with choosing or advising in general. Otherwise it's worth to take a look on the walls, there are many historical and very interesting items hanging 😊

Historic first coffee shop to open in Amsterdam. Very busy inside but has few tables outside along the canals where you can smoke and enjoy the view. Nice hot drinks.

The first and an experience. Music was drum and base. Prices are slightly higher than more local coffee shops. Staff friendly and helpful. Give it a try. Gets very busy.

Best cafe by the canal. It has an amazing vibe with smiley and friendly members of staff. We came here twice, once to pick up and another to sit in to hang out with some sweets and drinks. I would highly recommend as you’ll have a great time!

Lovely fresh mint tea and right in the centre of everything! Quick service too. Only problem we had was with the pre rolls was some weren’t done tight enough so you’d get a mouthful of herbal mix when smoking, but wasn’t too bad! Would still recommend

very cute little shop! very cute decor and hand painted walls that you can stare at forever snd see something new each time. nice menu selection (cheapest I have been able to find in Amsterdam as well), very friendly security and staff that will help with any questions. would recommend!!

הקופי שופ / הבר הכי מוכר באמסטרדם. מביאים שם ירוק בחינם (לפחות לפי מה שראיתי) מחירים יחסית זולים לעיר ומקום פתיחת ערב סבבה.. בעיקרון לא ממליץ לשבת שם כל הערב אבל לכו תשתו פתיחה או תעשנו פתיחה תאכלו משהו כי האוכל טוב וזהו תעברו למקום אחר... אבל תבקרו שם כי זה אחד המוכרים באמסטרדם אז חייב לפחות פעם אחת להיות בבולדוג.

I get that this is a tourist place and that the staff likely deal with jerks all the time, but the service is absolutely abysmal and makes the whole experience deeply unpleasant. Loud, stuffy, and miserable. There are countless other options around the area with more comfortable seating and staff who don’t seem to actively enjoy being rude. Bluebird for example is great. If you’ve got to check this place out for its historical value, I understand, but I would definitely recommend leaving as soon as you can. I never write google reviews but this was that bad!!

The best place to enjoy somenthig in peace. The staff was very friendly and helpful,always with a big smile on them faces 🤣. It was quite crowded,but everyone was nice ,clean enough for a coffeshop in Amsterdam,prices accessible and the a good quality . We recommend with pleasure!
