Went here for a quick lunch. Everything we ordered was delicious: soft shell crab special, artichoke, tuna tartar and oysters. Very good service. Would love to come back and get a table outside overlooking the canal.

One of my go-to restaurants in Amsterdam. Every time I didn’t quite know where I wanted to go or there was a big indecision, always ended up at George. They have various restaurants through the city but I love this one. Great view of the canal and the space both outside and inside is stunning. On their menu they have a very wide range of stuff to choose from. Go-to order: Chicken avocado sandwich, club sandwich or croque madame.

Everything we put in our mouths we loved!! The food was perfect and had so much flavor! I highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly! Wonderful cocktails too! Get the south side cocktail!

Food was alright, small portions. Service could be better, we never got the water initially requested, neither the milk to the coffee. Working with acoustics could be a future improvement, it’s a restaurant not a bar. The rat in the kitchen was cute and didn’t look to well fed.

High class vibes, quite busy. Service was good, food was very nice. 3 stars because it's not really my cup of tea, but if you're looking for a fancy brunch/dinner this is definitely the spot.

The food was nice, but unfortunately the service wasn’t good. We waited around 10 minutes at the table for them to bring over the menus, tried to order a second round of drinks once we had our meal which didn’t come until we had finished our food, and they offered us a dessert menu which never came. Would’ve been a much better experience if the staff had put in some effort.

The place is beautiful, and service was excellent. The food was good and overall enjoyed my experience. A few things found a bit overpriced for what they were but they were good .

Nice but a bit noisy french restaurant that has not been discovered by tourists yet. The meat options were grilled on point and the dessert amazin (tarte tatin). Service was a bit slow and the wine could have been better for the price but overall a restaurant that's worth a visit.

I had a delicious vegetarian burger with sweet potato fries. The lemonade mocktail was tasty and fresh. Service very good and friendly

We had dinner here, and it was very nice. The food is very high quality, cooked and seasoned very nicely. A good selection of wine and beer. It had a very lively atmosphere.

Great restaurant, decently priced food. The range of food is mainly french bistro so if you want any more classic brunch, you might need to find somewhere else! Very good portion sizes, and very atmospheric.

We visit this restaurant regularly. The food is good, the restaurant looks cozy and the staff is amazing. They are able to make special occasions extra special. We were very delighted to see that Odilia was working at this location again. She knows what hospitality is. Definitely recommended to go here.

Kind and attentive staff with a lovely brasserie style menu. I hab a great lunch of steamed artichoke with a nice buttery herbed mayo and delicious French onion soup. Very straight forward, not fancy or pretentious, but high quality. Enjoy!

I like this place and visited twice. However, both the dishes I tried were tasteless. The seabass and the eggplant steak miso. Really not worth the high price jn my opinion. Pictures is the eggplant steak.

We went here for brunch. It’s smart to book table in advance. The food is simple, we had sandwiches and fries. Everything was as expected. This is a place everyone will find something they like. Service was great! Lovely people. Loooove the atmosphere there, perfect for instagramming 😌

We were seated quickly and nicely outside which was great. When my partner asked for some tap water besides her other drink, the waitress pretended this didn’t exist and she could only offer a €6 bottle of still water. She was also unable to answer her in English, which is a first in Amsterdam. After, I ordered the artichoke and the sauce that came with it seemed to contain egg, which made me ask her if it was in fact plant based, as that’s what it said on the menu. She went ahead and asked someone from the kitchen and answered that it does in fact contain egg, which is very worrisome given the fact I already ate it. When I mentioned that this was conflicting with the menu, she said she may have misunderstood the kitchen employee, which made her ask again, yet still not being sure about it. Also, the food was very disappointing. The eggplant was boiled and tasted just not good at all so I had to return it. The artichoke was missing the best part, the stem and it was not seasoned at all. The beyond burger was not well done at all. Although it’s not meat, it still needs to be cooked through, which did not happen. Overall, the food was very disappointing and the only tasteful dish was the French fries. For being priced the way it is, both the service and the quality are not where it should be.

Disappointing!! Ambience was alright but the food was less than acceptable. Onion soup was so salty. Kale avocado salad was dry. Burger was raw. The fries smelt like 3 days of used oil. One star for getting the Water and Pepsi right.

We were there during ADE, maybe that's why.... but it was the worst service I've experienced in years. Called the restaurant twice for our table, no answer. We walked in and had to wait for a table (eventhough I've made reservations online days before and there was enough space). Didn't take our drink order before we ordered food, were ignored by staff until we could finally order when asking, food was waaay less quality than I'm used to for this price. I have never not finished a dish in a restaurant because it was just really bad tastewise, but this time I did. My company finished it, but said it was bad quality and taste. It's not that the food is completly terrible, but it's by far not as good as a lot of other places nowadays and it's way more expensive. Doesn't make sense... Chaotic staff. Music so loud we couldnt have a normal conversation without yelling and repeating ourselves three times. Really messed up our lunch and catching up with friends. I always wish to leave positive feedback, but this was just a waste of money and time. Wine and coffee were good though. 👌👍

It's the 3rd time we visit and it wasn't fun. 1. Very noisy, no way to talk. 2. The food was not more than ok. The Aubergine Steak that my wife ordered was a joke. I have eaten many decent aubergine this wasn't one of them. 3. The service was nice but not great. I think this place should do a real improvement. Sorry guys.

Very pleasant place with good variety for dishes. It’s not the most unique place but the atmosphere and quality of food is good so it’s a safe option for an everyday dinner outing. Would come back.

Lovely dinner here and food was terrific. We sat at the bar and Moudi provided outstanding service and was very fun too. You can tell that he loves what he does. Cozy place where you will find many locals enjoying this neighborhood favorite.

Despite waiting 20 minutes to be seated past our scheduled reservation time, the food was delish and the atmosphere of the terrace dining along the canal was very pleasant.

We were kindly received by the waitress and immediately ordered some food and drinks. We were surprised that our food arrived after an hour and a half. The oysters were given away to another table and without apologies we had to wait an extra-long time. That's why we didn't get the food at the same time. We wanted to order more food, but because of the long wait we didn't order it anymore. When we asked for the bill, we had to wait 25 minutes for the pin device. I spoke to the waitress about this why we have to wait for everything. This was due to the staff shortage. The staff shortage at George should not be the problem of customers. We asked for compensation since the oysters were given away and everything was served very late. The waitress could do nothing but offer coffee. We were not satisfied with the coffee and asked that our two soft drinks be taken off the bill. Otherwise, we had also to wait 30 minutes for the coffee. For us it was not about the money, but about the service and that people had to deal with this without mercy. We are not angry, but disappointed and therefore no more George for us. Furthermore, we as persons are not impatient or difficult, but in the catering industry I do expect manners and respect towards customers. Waiting very long for anything including for the pin device is downright ridiculous. I am very sorry that I had to write this review like that. I give a 5 for the great food but otherwise the experience was not worth more than a 1.

I’ve been to Cafe George multiple times but my experience yesterday was so awful that I don’t think I will be visiting ever again. We waited for 1 hour and 35 minutes for our food, all of the tables that ordered after us ate and left while we were still waiting. When we asked the waitress she told us that we were not the only table and told us to cancel our order if we didn’t want to wait any longer. She was extremely rude. Their attitude was super disrespectful and unacceptable. I wish they were just honest about forgetting to put our order in and said sorry then we would have waited and enjoyed our food. I was really disappointed.

Lovely architecture, great atmosphere and friendly staff, George is one of my favorite place for a Sunday brunch in the Amsterdam canals. They offer vegan options and gluten free bread. I reccomend you to book a table, especially on weekends can get quite busy. If you are visiting Amsterdam don't miss it.

Would not recommend if you want expensive food that tasted like it was reheated. Paid 25€ for a lobster pasta that had 4 small pieces of lobster in it. The cub sandwich was not bad but only came with a small portion of fries. The waiters got our drinks order wrong twice and the food order of our neighbors wrong as well. The waiters did not seem interested in serving us and were not able to assist us any seating, food or drinks requests in any way.

The food is good and the athmosphere is unbeatable in a weekend night! always packed and popular, therefore, get a reservation a few days before to make sure you get a table.
