Coming from the U.S. we don't have as much art as in Europe. This experience was fantastic. In a solo trip I was able to walk through the entire museum. One day is not enough. I love Dutch and Flemish art. They have highly skilled artists (more than the German, the British, the Spanish, and even in my opinion also better than the French and the Italians. I'd love to visit again and slowly melt away in the beauty of Dutch Art.

Wow, a large and wonderful collection, 4 hours devoted to seeing everything, only with the option not to stop for long at each work, unless it was interesting. It is recommended to purchase tickets online, but there is a shop in the square in front of the museum where you can buy tickets. There was not a big queue about 10 am on Monday but later there were crowds in the museum.

The museum is stunning. It has an impressive collection of European art with Dutch history and beautiful craftsmanship masterpieces. It is a vast building, and you don’t feel crowded. Tip for visit: Pre-order the tickets via their website; if they are sold out, try the museum store. The museum closes at five but the cafe/rhe shop are open until 6 p.m. Self guides are 6.5 euros, and worth every euro cent

Beautiful museum. I booked a ticket online from their website for 22.5€. An optional guided tour is also offered which brings the total to 30€. Spent two hours in the museum but I still felt like I needed a bit more. I would suggest freeing your schedule for at least 3 hours to enjoy the museum the most. Guided tour was good but sometimes I couldn’t hear what the guide was saying because of surrounding crowds.

Wow! I needed lots and lots of time to go through this amazing art museum!! I recommend getting tickets on line. Lots of greats are on display! So many great works that I need to go back and spend another day! Great audio tour! Bring your headphones so you can listen in on your personal phone!

Huge museum, I recommend you buy tickets and get there early. You will easily spend 3-4 hours there. There is a lot of stuff inside. It is also easy to miss something. The only thing I would say is download the app and save the money on the audio guide. It’s the same thing and my tablet didn’t work so I switched over to the app. It was the same thing. The audio guides provide a lot of information and are incredibly helpful.

20 euro a head entrance tickets. Very large and well thought out exhibition. Has additional free to add rooms. Took us 2 hours to get around but you could easily spend a lot longer with the additional audio. Easy navigation, resting places, and signage was handy to follow. Friendly staff and of course an over priced store inside. Very nice visit

Very beautiful and big museum with a large collection of different things. Note that to visit you are required to book a time slot. The museum has a large collection if paintings and other pieces of art. On the ground floor there is also a large collection of boat models that were used to design ships and explain how to operate ships. The museum also has a small restaurant, it it a bit expensive but fine.

Amazing museum with lots of beautiful art pieces. It was pure joy delving onto the rich history of Dutch culture and people. It is a huge museum, so it's best to make sure you have plenty of time to see around the beauty of the museum!

Probably the best museum in Amsterdam. Clearly the most famous paintings are in the gallery of honor, but we saw lots of other interesting works. There are audio guides that allow you to do just the highlights or to type in a number in front of a picture. We spent about three hours here and could have spent more. Definitely recommend.

Just the greatest museum ever. The history, the artifacts, the paintings..... Words are not enough to describe the experience. If you have the chance, please do visit this museum. Free cloackroom, great washrooms, roomy, airy, clean venue. Also, get your tickets in advance.

Don't think we average folks have the breadth of knowledge to rate one of the best museums out there. Everything flows perfect here. Its clean and well organized. Collection is one of the best in the world! Its a def go if you are in Amsterdam

One of the most famous museums in Holland. This dutch capital's museum is located in a huge beautiful building. There are various floors with different objects exposed in every one of them. From medieval weapons to luxury jewelry in the first floor, you have the most important dutch author's of all times paintings also here. I would say to see it properly you would need to spend about 5 hours, since 4 hours like I did was not enough to see everything.

Great collection of Dutch masters. A big museum and it can be a challenge to find some rooms. I'm sure I missed some sections completely. I would recommend the first floor and then the coffee in the cafe and then move to the second floor where all the highlights are. Or go straight to the Gallery of Honour.

A visit to the Rijkmuseum is an absolute must for anyone that remotely appreciates art and history. The collection will get even those uninterested excited. The museum’s location is great, and all the staff are helpful and cheerful. I’d recommend the family quest to anyone coming with children, or anyone that wants some goofy fun.

Mind blowing experience. It was one of the finest museums I've ever been to. It's such a superb collection of art. Paintings, porcelain, statues, and many other kinds. It is well laid out, with each section coming from a specific time period. It's heavy on the religious art, but that's to be expected. I was here for 3 hours, and I couldn't take it all in. A full day is needed. Lockers are hard to get as they fill quickly, so better to use the cloakroom. The cafe & restaurant are always full, so good luck getting a seat. The building is absolutely stunning and easy to find. The Van Gogh museum is nearby. I suggest booking your tickets online to save double queues.

One of the best museums of the world. If you love Rembrandt's masterpieces then you can not miss this place. So many interesting things to explore, for kids you also got the digital family interactive device to explore even more special things, so many things they explained during the hunting game. Love it a lot! We enjoyed the 5 hours visiting, even after we were all exhausted.. we still want next time back back...so many other spaces we didn't see yet! Super recommended!

Beautiful, big museum that holds various artwork. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short by the storm alert. We were told that we're going to get an email with information about booking another date as a form of compensation but we never did. Anyways, the museum is worth a visit and it's probably even better in spring and summer when the garden is open. It was quite refreshing to not have to wear masks inside. Felt normal again.

Must see. Seriously good collection. Book tickets in advance. Also worthwhile walking around the small gardens. Recommend the audio guide as it has commentary, a map with current location and suggested routes. Suggest you allocate 2.5 - 3.5 hours of viewing time, although you could rush through in 1.5 hours Fyi: At time of visiting (April 2022) milkmaid was on loan

One of the top museums here in Amsterdam and definitely a must-seen! Its very popular so better book the ticket in advance online. It's quite huge, if you wanna see everything you will have to take a whole day. The museun offers free apps which you can download easily on your phone, so you don't need to rent extra audio guide. Some of the important master pieces are on a tour exhibition so we didn't get to see then, which it's a pity. Make sure you visit the museum gift shop! So many interesting items!

We got there early on a Saturday and it felt like great timing. The museum is large and is a long activity if you want to get through everything. The space is absolutely gorgeous and I think they are some of the best at lighting the works. Everywhere felt perfectly lit and the frames and paintings all jumped off the walls at you. Totally clean and stunning. The gift shop was nice as well. I wish the gift shop had more stickers.

What an incredible collection of art and history. Unlike the British museum of history, it doesn't feel like everything is a piece of stolen history and culture. I highly recommend a visit, you can see most of it in a few hours.

Absolutely loved it. Tickets were easy to order with QR codes at the door, the tour was also easily accessible via a QR code that downloaded an app. I would recommend bringing your own headphones/earphones to listen to the tour (else you would have to rent a headset and audio guide). All artwork was properly honored and given spotlight to.

Wonderful experience! It was a shame the Night watch was covered by the scanner at the time of my visit, but the museum hosts wonderful pieces by so many esteemed artists. Patience is a virtue and if you plan to visit this museum only once in a lifetime, allocate at least half day to enjoy every room thoroughly. Mind that other visitors might admire certain famous works for few minutes , so it’s wise to allocate enough time if you are planning to explore freely every room. I highly recommend downloading the museum’s app and learn about various artists, their lives and the stories behind their works. It’s busy around opening and closing hours. I got there at 11:00 and left at 17:00 and around 14-15:00, there were not that many visitors.

I was initially uncertain about visiting this museum as I'm not particularly an art enthusiast, but I decided to give it a try. With an entrance fee of €22.5, I anticipated a comprehensive and enriching experience, hoping to gain insights into the world of "art." Surprisingly, I spent around three hours and left with vivid and memorable impressions about art. The sheer volume of collections and the diversity they offered left me in awe. I found myself shocked by the breadth of the exhibits and gained a substantial understanding of art history. The museum's collection is truly magnificent in its variety. In conclusion, it was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to both art enthusiasts and those who may not consider themselves particularly drawn to art. The museum has something to offer for everyone.

I don’t think many words are needed to review this museum. Very well organized and very helpful staff. I had to make a reservation beforehand. It was very quiet inside the museum. The Night Watch was under reconstruction, it was interesting to see how they were working on it.

A very very big museum. A bit of a labirint but very worth while. This museum is know of Rembrandt Nachtwacht but has much much more to offer. From paintings to large model ships and old weaponry and from sculptures to doll houses and antique tableware. We needed 2 days and did not get to see everything.

🎭Art & Culture: Wow! This was so much more than expected. The museum is very well kept and the admissions process is a well oiled machine. The three floors that spiral upward are spacious and thoughtful. This building was an experience. The art is awe inspiring. The beauty and skill of the Dutch masters could not be better presented. Recommendation: get the auditory guide for a deeper understanding and self guided tour of the works. Note: The crowds tend to be very large by midday / lunch and it can be challenging to experience each of the exhibits. Most visitors are courteous and move in an orderly fashion. Plan 3-4 hours for this visit to Rijks. It’s worth it!

Lots to explore. The service is very different. You can meet a nice person, but also quite rude. Fairly easy to navigate. Gift shop, free toilet, coffee shop. Can't go out for a cigarette. Good localization. I don't think the exhibition is worth 20 euros. I think it is a must see after all.

Absolutely as incredible as the Royal Albert Museum in London! Fantastic Exhibits broken down by Centuries, extensive Asian exhibit. Extensive Exhibits of Dutch Artists with all kinds of Mediums from paintings to doll houses to a very special small harpsichord. Delicious food at the restaurant, too.

One of my favorite my museum in Europe. Such a great curation, such a rich collection. All the art pieces were perfectly preserved and most of them were in a very good condition. The oil paintings were in such good condition that they looked as if they had just been made. You need to spare at least half a day to visit the entire museum. You can take a coffee break inside and rest and continue where you left off.☕️

Visited on Pride Saturday (before I knew it was pride) and it was still relatively busy, but not too crazy. Definitely buy tickets in advance. You need a timed entry to get in. This is a great museum with a pretty large variety of art. The 1700-1800 section was particularly beautiful.

An absolute must, one of the best museums in the world, with a huge and magnificent collection. From the famed The Night Watch and other Rembrandt pieces, and van Gogh and Vermeer, to the wonderful smaller collections throughout this magnificent institution. Of particular enjoyment was the glorious Research Library, lined with books from floor to ceiling, wall to wall. Could probably spend a whole week wandering the corridors of this extraordinary museum.

This place is a real masterpiece! Without overrating, this is the best museum I’ve ever visited. All the rooms look really stylish, they have perfect light to see the pieces of art. This museum is really worth visiting, I’ve spent there almost 3 hours and I think it could be much more, but I was late there. Ticket price is 20€, and it’s worth every cent of it! There are so many interesting exponents, such as pictures, sculptures, old weapons, dishes. Everyone will find something he would like there, so I strongly recommend you to visit it ! ❤️

Don't ignore map and audioguide. Highly recommended place!

Great museum, easy to reach and some very interesting displays. Beautiful building worth the trip just to see the facade. The building is beautiful also with a nice garden in the back. The gift shop and restaurant are also excellent. You can skip the cost for the audio guide since it is also available from a free app I don't think the great art needs any additional reviews but the collection is certainly impressive. Book your ticket online and would recommend going first thing in the morning. It gets quite crowded as the day goes on. Plan a minimum of two hours but you could easily spend four there.

Nice museum, after renovation it became much bigger with the entrance downstairs, the hal is in the underneath the street and visible from downstairs. It is pity that there is no solution for smokers. Once you leave the hall downstairs, you are not allowed back, there is no smoking place at all. It is as if we smokers don't exist. Other musea are less strict in the politics against smoking.

One of those places you'd need to visit if you're planning a trip here, no questions. Knowing that we were going to be staying for a week, we knew we wanted to visit the Rijksmuseum, so we bought everything we needed in advance. I'd advice to pop down here slightly earlier because the queues were like 30 minutes long, or perhaps just add that time to your stay if you have reservations elsewhere. We thought two to three hours would be enough to see everything but it took over four, this was due to waiting for other onlookers and if you really wanted to see what was on offer. Getting here wasn't hard nor confusing, they pretty much had transport sorted for those who wanted to come visit. Firstly you could take the trams (2, 5, and 12) here which passes/stops nearby the museum, you could so use the buses (347, 357 and 397) and the other way would be coaches. I'm sure there are other trams and buses you can take to here too. The building itself was rather nice i'd say so myself, seeing it was built in the 1880s, you'd understand why. It's such a massive structure, larger than i expected and has the look of the time it was built. They do have places where you can purchase refreshments which is needed if you plan to stay for a longer period of time. Come the end of the tour of the place, some were more tired than others but we all enjoyed the visit at least. Highly recommend.

That place you need to go with time, the museum is very big as well as beautiful. Go with comfortable shoes, it is essential, clarow if you like museums go with time. The museum has a curiosity it was founded in the city of The Hague, and the museum moved to Amsterdam in 1808. The facade of the building is stunning, and the museum has a large collection, again .. go ahead. A super different museum than we are used to. Many works from various places and with stories that are not part of our daily life. The people who work at the Museum are very helpful and attentive. We had a problem that was not caused by the Museum and they helped us promptly. Each wing is a surprise !! Amen of the works, the architecture is beautiful. Place with incredible energy. Beautiful museum and I believe to be the most beautiful in Holland. Works of art by great European and Dutch artists like Van Gogh and Rembrandt. Right at the entrance there is a super nice cafe with excellent service. The square outside the museum building is very suitable for children.

Its a museum of Amsterdam‘s history and famous people, catering a lot of art works such as paintings. Its a wide museum, with two divisions, so its quiet a walk. I‘d say we were here for about two and a half hours, and most of it we just walk through, and just saw the highlights. Its interesting though. They also have souvenir shop on the ground floor. And a Garderobe for backpacks.

Wonderful museum, very spacious, lots of seating area that you can rest or enjoy the exhibits. The museum staffs are very helpful and friendly. If you do decided to go, I found that it's very helpful to download their apps on your cell phone before you get there just like they suggested. Most of the exhibits are labeled with a number and all you have to do is to enter that number which corresponds to the exhibit and just listen. Very user friendly! We made a reservation for the Cafe and the food was great but make sure you have a credit card ready...no cash. Also, if you want to try their restaurant please make sure to make your reservation ahead of time! My friend and I had a wonderful time there and we both agreed that we'll have to come back to finish the rest of the exhibition.

They have audio tours both for your phone and an easy to use device (I got the device). Additionally they have docent led tours which I think is the best option since you can ask questions (I took this too.) The cost for the device and the human led tour is 5 euros each and well worth it. For a 'classic' museum I was surprise at how loud it is. Apparently the Dutch are very enthusiastic about their artists.

The Rijksmuseum was an Amsterdam must see and it didn’t disappoint. It is so much larger inside than it looks. We could’ve spent days wandering through there. Make sure you have enough time to visit all the rooms! I loved the organization of the floors being from different time periods in ascending order and the cafe inside was pretty nice too. They also provide free guests for lockers and have many clean restrooms.

Truly magnificent art on display. A great museum experience for all ages combing art and Dutch history. We visited with children and they lived both the main art exhibitions as well as the children's activities. One minor issue is the food available, its expensive and not very varied, considering that people spend a whole day here, more family friendly food options would be welcome. All in all a must visit if you are in the area, a truly memorable experience.

This is considered to be one of the best attractions in Amsterdam and it is clearly why from the first sight. The museum is truly a piece of architecture, with an amazing interior. It’s collection contains of thousands of exhibits (sculptures, paintings, pottery and many other) from 1500 to the present day. I do recommend taking into account that you will spend at least 3 hours in here and the earlier the better. We had tickets for 11:30 and it already started to be a little crowded. Around 12:30 it became a bit difficult to see exhibits peacefully

Just in love with the museum 😍 Definitely must be visited if you are in Amsterdam. Can express my admiration to the team who made the plan and sign inside the museum so simple and useful. In each room you easily can understand where you are. Also liked the hologram in the ship model, didn't expect it and felt like a child 😀 3,5 hours passed very fast. Definitely will come back again. Who will visit, please pay attention that some old watches still work and show the real time, date and even moon stage😉

This should be for sure on your to-visit list if you are in Amsterdam. It surely deserves 2-3 hours to visit all of its floors and the great library. I would recommend book in advance and be patient while you wait in the line. It usually moves fast and you get to enjoy the ceiling of the tunnel. After you visit the interior and you have a bit of time you can always talk a walk around in its gardens.

The Rijksmuseum is a great place to spend a day (or part of a day depending on how quickly you get through museums). There is a ton of art history throughout this museum, and it's very easy to spend an entire day here. The outside of the building is very impressive, but it's the works inside that are the stars of the show. I'd highly recommend allocating at least half of a day for the museum, and then making sure to enjoy the garden outside, the market, and the green space outside as well.

A huge museum with tons of art, we spent 5 hours reading every plaque, listening to every audio tour prompt, and actually looking at the art, and we still didn't get to the 3rd floor. Lots to see and talk about. It's great. Really cool art both as part of the architecture and hung upon the walls, plus furnitures and statues if those are your thing. The museum clearly acknowledged the dark past of colonialism and slavery that contributed to the history of the Netherlands and it's art and I appreciated that. The cafe is good too, not too crazy expensive and very tasty.

Fun sized museum that you can get through in less than four hours. The special exhibit was educational and they had descriptions on all of the trinkets. The first floor is split in half so you can only access the other half by going up or down a floor. The ship models are very intricate and gave me admiration on the hard work involved. The night watch exhibit was spectacular to see as well, spanning an entire museum wall!

Amazing place with great artworks. We boight tickets for 9am and it was the best decision. Because at that time the museum is not overcrowded and it's easy to see all. However, when you come this early you will be done by midday when most other people also get hungry and try to leave. I highly recommend using the lockers rather than the cloakroom because during lunch time the lines can get long and waiting time can go up to 45minutes.

Very large museum that would take 4-6 hours to see. You have to scan a QR code to get in and I’d recommend booking in advance. They have a ton of things to look at! Painting, sculptures, cabinets, keys, clothing and model ships. The history of the museum is interesting. It hasn’t always been in this building and I love that this is the collection of all of Amsterdam cool things he they collected.

This is a nice museum and in a really beautiful area. However, it does seem kinda overpriced. You can go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for $25, so €22.50 seems steep for this museum that you can see in a couple hours. It’s a good place if you like the Dutch masters, but I was surprised to see so much interior art. I honestly kinda prefer the Dutch paintings at The Met. Gorgeous building though.

In December 2003, the main building of the museum closed for a major renovation. During this renovation, about 400 objects from the collection were on display in the 'fragment building', including Rembrandt's The Night Watch and other 17th-century masterpieces. The restoration and renovation of the Rijksmuseum are based on a design by Spanish architects Antonio Cruz and Antonio Ortiz. Many of the old interior decorations were restored and the floors in the courtyards were removed. The renovation would have initially taken five years, but was delayed and eventually took almost ten years to complete. The renovation cost € 375 million. The reconstruction of the building was completed on 16 July 2012. In March 2013, the museum's main pieces of art were moved back from the 'fragment building' (Philips Wing) to the main building. The Night Watch returned to the Night Watch Room, at the end of the Hall of Fame. On 13 April 2013, the main building was reopened by Queen Beatrix.[12] On 1 November 2014, the Philips Wing reopened with the exhibition Modern Times: Photography in the 20th Century. Wikipedia

Located at the Museum Square in the Amsterdam South borough (close to the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and the Concertgebouw) is Rijksmuseum. Rijksmuseum is home to some of the greatest and most famous works of Dutch art and history; notably The Night Watch - Rembrandt van Rijn's most famous painting. With more than 8,000 paintings and objects on display spanning 100 rooms, Rijksmuseum is worthy a few hours of your trip in order to explore. After racking up your step count, grab a seat in Rijksmuseum's gated garden (open daily between 9am to 6pm). Host to plenty of attractive plants and flowers, sculptures, and water features, the garden is a surprisingly tranquil place away from the hustle and bustle.

Here are paintings from famous masters such as Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Frans Hals and Jan Steen. The Rijksmuseum is the largest museum in the Netherlands and is visited annually by over one million visitors. The beautiful and impressive building was erected in 1885. Here you can see Rembrandt's "The Night Watch" from 1642 and Johannes Vermeer's "The Milk Maid" from 1658. Rembrandt's Night Watch was very impressive and the light in the middle of the painting is fantastic. The painting is absolutely huge (363 x 437 cm). Photography is allowed as long as you shoot without flash. In addition to paintings, there is also beautiful furniture, porcelain objects and huge dollhouses that were incredibly decorated with engravings of silver and turtle shells. The most famous dollhouse is from the 18th century and is estimated to have cost as much as a real house at that time!

Very good maintained museum. We visited during the Corona crisis (October 2020) and we felt safe all the time. Enough place to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters. Broad range of exhibitions going from the early middle ages till (post)impressionists like van Gogh. Paintings, sculptures, furniture,... For everyone something to their liking. One point for improvement; there are no student prices. It's sad that students just have to pay full price. Otherwise it would be an even better visit.

Paintings owned by the city of Amsterdam, including Rembrandt's Night Patrol, were thus included in the collection. An exceptional museum. Tram 5 best for us Well laid out easy to navigate. Cheaper to download app book on line and choose a time slot. No great wait to enter. Two issues to be to be aware of their painting The Night Watch is undergoing restoration and is partly obscured by equipment monitoring vibration. Essential I know but lessens impact of the painting Secondly if you need lift to access the floors there are only two and there can be a queue. Cafe/restaurant is very nice limited vegetarian menu but is okay. 10% off in the gift shop when you have downloaded their app. But a must when you visit.

This is a HUGE museum, with tons to see. I’m not sure we got through all of it, but rhe parts that we did see were very interesting. As a major Vermeer fan, seeing the Milkmaid in person was wonderful. The giant Rembrandt is only a testament to the the size of the museum- and it was also neat to see. Fun museum with lots to do and see.

Excellent experience for art and history lovers. Ensure you pre-book and allow at least 3-4 hours for your visit. It will be a lot of walking and standing so ensure you have had enough to eat and drink before beginning. The audio guide is very helpful but better if you bring and use your own earphones. Don’t worry about the guided tour, just use the audio guide by numbers and simply type in the number displayed on the artwork. You will be asked to not wear a backpack on your back and no peak caps.

You would literally need a whole day to see everything that's inside. The Gallery of Honour is a must-see. The Asian pavilion was also very interesting and worth seeing. As for the rest, it's all very overwhelming, as there is A LOT, which isn't a negative, it's just hard to judge the whole museum after one day. 4/5 due to poorly described exhibits, most of the items in the collections aren't described or even named.

  • 4/5 daisy A. 7 months ago on Google
You need to make reservations online before coming to avoid disappointment and getting rejected at the entrance. It definitely depends on the time of the visit. July, August and weekends are busy! It's a beautiful building and we spent 3 hours just quickly looking at the pieces of one floor. If you want to do 3 floors then you can easily spend 6+ hours enjoying the museum. The gardens are beautiful too and when the sun shines, people love to sit, walk or paint there too. Lots of activities outside from street market (visited on a Sunday)to street artists, restaurants or hotdogs stalls. You may want to stay a bit longer enjoying the surroundings. Parking can be a problem so if possible use public transportation or do your research online before coming to get an idea of where to park and how much it will cost. Depending on how long you stay you may pay double or more your entrance ticket to the museum for parking.

This was such an amazing experience. If you have even a tiny little interest in art, you're gonna enjoy your time here. Very well guided, a lot of staff there to help you, fascinating interior architecture, many world-renowned arts and more. You can explore this museum for days! Enjoy 👌 😉

Interesting museum, even mire interesting building. There are literally every type of artifact in this museum. You will definitely find something interesting. I think it’s worth a visit. The place itself is huge. You need some good 3, 4 hours to go through everything. More if you get a guide.

We had a guided-tour which lasted for about an hour. As a person who likes art (but not so much), I though it was a pleasant place to visit, interesting pieces to see. The works of Rembrandt, Vermeer... a very good place to see while in Amsterdam..

Well maintained. Toilets and lifts for elders, wheel chairs, proms available. Toilets and cloakrooms are available in plenty. In all floors offices are available for help. Exhibits are neatly arranged. You need almost one full week if you want to see everything.

Wonderful museum known as the most iconic museum in the Netherlands. The collection covers years between 1100-1950. Plan on spending most of the day...there is so much to see and take in. It is best to purchase tickets on line.

We visited this museum twice. Once in 2021 and the in October 2023. I loved the works of Rembrandt and Vermeer. You can write a books on each painting here. This is one of the best attractions in Amsterdam. A must visit place. Give yourself plenty of time when you head this way.

One of my favorite museums in Europe. The app made it enjoyable and seeing how well it was out together, we saw the history of the Dutch, their art, and their golden age. Fantastic museum and easy to get into. Make sure to make reservations in advance to find a spot. It was easy to navigate and the diverse exhibits made the museum fun and interesting.

Great museum. The highlights curated in the free guides are worth a watch. And the view of the old Library from the 2nd floor is good. Liked also the different programs they had for kids and families to encourage understanding art and culture. Recommend to come early in the morning when there is less crowd.

Fantastic museum, you can easily spend 5 hours here. The staff were great, especially the woman by the night watch painting, at the ask me sign. Very insightful info and staff at the help desk near entrance did a great job too.

We booked tickets in advance and did not need to wait in line. They do have student discounts for tickets so if you are a student don’t forget your student card or make sure to use it whilst booking tickets in advance. The museum itself was gorgeous, the paintings were beautiful. It took me about 3 hours to get through the entire museum so make sure to put enough time aside to visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the museum; a visit might require half a day of your time. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance for a smoother experience. The museum houses a stunning library. You can delve into Dutch culture through exhibits featuring dresses, furniture, paintings, and more.

Very impressive collection of art. Most people will go just to see the Nightwatch, but there is so much more to see. Nice restaurant and shop also. Please be aware you need to get your tickets from the shop outside and not from the museum. Otherwise I will need walk back to the shop (100m).

Very extensive art collection. Make sure you reserve yourself around 3 hours for a comfortable visit. Plan your route across the entire museum (i.e. choose one side, go all the way to the top, go down on the other side). Overall I really enjoyed the historical aspect of art, how it was acquired / discovered. The museum is organized in historical periods so it is great to get an understanding of the history of Dutch art.

A beautiful building and a large, well run museum, with some of the greatest art in western civilization. Well laid out, easy to navigate, good signage and Big Picture background info, and a good amount of seating. Also, the lobby restaurant is terrific, with great hostesses and servers.
