😐 Surprising museum with a beautiful collection. Is run by driven and helpful employees. I just think there is more to the subject than comes out now. People often mention museum, interesting, small, cemetery, beautiful, funeral, visit, death, maar, Dutch,

(Original) Verrassend museum met een mooie collectie. Wordt gerund door gedreven en behulpzame medewerkers. Ik denk alleen wel dat er nog meer in het onderwerp zit dan er nu uitkomt.

It was an interesting place. Took about half an hour to look around but there were several exhibits that were surprising or pleasantly thought-provoking. The cemetery park was also a beautiful place to stroll around on a sunny afternoon.

Amazing little gem of a museum located in a beautiful cemetery. It provides the history of Dutch funerals, the various customs and currently, they have the winning Dutch funeral cake of the funeral cake baking competition. The current exposition is about food at funerals and the food wishes of the dying. There is a lovely audiotour and the volunteers are happy to answer any questions. Highly recommend.

A small museum but with very deep subject matter. It features exhibits on how Dutch society approaches death. Just like the Dutch themselves it handles the issue with pragmatism, seeing it for what it is: important, deserving of respect but ultimately administrative and zero excessive sentimentality. If you're on your first visit to Amsterdam I would go and see the more famous museums of the Dutch co-capital before you head to Museum Tot Zover but perhaps if you have already done the other major museums and you have an afternoon free, your time would be well spent here.

A fascinating and contemplative experience. It's never morbid or exploitative. The section on cancer was moving. The only note I'd give is that some of the exhibition descriptions can be a bit low down to read. Other than that, I was educated and moved. Thank you.

A small museum about funeral tradition for different religion. It’s hidden behind the cafe, and you need to enter through the cafe.

The painting in the hall is very depressive. Arrangement is smooth but we had to walk out without jackets to the drink room after the ceremony in cold.

An interesting visit, with a nice café. The museum is small, there is an available Dutch only audio guide. Most displays have English and Dutch notes, but some don't. Admission is covered by the Museumkaart. If you've made the effort to get here, be sure to go for a walk in the cemetery on the grounds. Lots of interesting grave markers, from the plain and humble to the ostentatious.

(Translated by Google) of course it is not the first museum you go to right away. but the museum shows in a really good way what death is like and what is involved. exceptionally well the supervisor did my really great job supervising the whole exhibition the museum that has to go through for a while, it is small but really well set up, you are an hour and a half inside. this museum is mjk museum, the toilets were clean the hospitality industry is present not much for sale in the shovel yes what books are nothing else think good. afterwards you can also look at the cemetery where the museum is located. highly recommended for a moment of peace and contemplation note the museum is at the cemetery and not right at the entrance, (Original) natuurlijk is die niet het eersten museum waar je gelijk naar toe gaat. maar het museum laat in werkelijk goed manier zien hoe de dood is en wat allemaal bij kom kijk. buitengewoon goed de suppoost heb mijn de heel tentoonstelling begeleid echt top zee goed gedaan het museum waar even door moet gaan , het klein maar echt goed opgesteld , je bent anderhalf uur binnen. dit museum is mjk museum, de wc waren schoon de horeca is aanwezig niet veel te koop in de schop ja wat boeken veder niets is denk wel goed. na afloop kan ook kijk op begraafplaats waar museum zich bevind . een aanrader voor even wat rust en bezinning let op het museum is op begraafplaats en niet gelijk bij ingang,

I enjoyed visiting "Tot Zover". Museum is small but informative. Temporary exhibition that I visited was great and thought provoking. If we count visiting cemetery as part of visiting the museum, then it's definitely worth to visit. Museum is located at the same place as cafe, staff was very friendly and prices at cafe are reasonable.

(Translated by Google) Exhibition 'De laatste aai' visited in funeral museum 'So far', a tribute to deceased animals. (I had visited the rest of the museum a few years ago, worth it.) This small exhibition: beautiful, informative, highlights all aspects of the pet loss with beautiful art. There is also the possibility to put up a photo / reminder of your lost pet. The cafe: also recommendable; friendly service, tasty things. Thank you to the helpful attendant!

Incredibly interesting museum depicting funeral and mourning rituals in the Netherlands. Not only a very nice staff lady greeted us at the beginning but also upon leaving she asked about our visit and if we liked the museum. Worth visiting!

Very interesting to see how death is experienced in different cultures. The temporary exhibition about food and death is also interesting. Small and cozy

Exquisite museum of international allure, it's small and packed with very interesting pieces, art, and antiquities. You can definitely spend a couple of hours here and soak up all the details. It has an excellent audio tour included as well. This further elevates the experience. Don't forget to taste a sample of the winning funeral cake at the restaurant. Plus, the tour around the cemetary itself is a luscious green walk where you can learn the history of the inhabitants of Amsterdam and their last resting space. Definitely recommended as part of your cultural Amsterdam tour.

We visited this small museum about two weeks ago. Amazing staff. an inspiring place for adults as well as children. Read the descriptions, some needs an edit though. For example, the one about funeral in Muslim societies is not accurate at all. ;) the size of the museum will let you read all the captions and visit the rooms in two hours max. The concept of the museum (and kind staff) makes u relaxed. Then u can have something at the cafe or go for a walk in the cemetery. Two hours (or an afternoon) better than any therapy sessions! ;)

(Translated by Google) First of all compliments for the friendly & skilled volunteers who keep things going and help the visitors. It's a nice team. A small museum where you can still spend hours if you listen to the (free!) Audio tour. This museum handled everything from the moment of death. Victorian hair art, an old pacemaker, urns and paintings inspired by death; you can find it all here. Toilets are clean. The museum is easily accessible for people with reduced mobility. It doesn't seem interesting to children. You can eat and drink something there. The cemetery itself is also accessible for a walk. Accessible by public transport, but you may need to take a short walk.
