I was in the museum of customs prior to this museum, I can clearly tell the difference and the level of care taking between the bags museum & the other one . It is extremely well maintained and designed. Extremely helpful staff and friendly. The whole place is accessible for handicapped, the bags and purse were very nicely showed with enough information about all the items . I really recommend visiting this place.

An amazing display of the evolution of expensive purses and travel bags. With so many gorgeous showpieces, one hour probably won't be enough to take time enjoy them all. The only negative thing I have to say is that the rooms and the exhibits were very poorly lit and didn't allow for the close inspection of the details of most bags.. 28.3.2014

So, as a guy, I was certain this museum was bound to be a loser. But, the history presented by the displays is spectacular! Bags for men, bags for women, suitcases, grooming artifacts, how the handbag came to be and how it has morphed was unique and unexpected.

It is a very interesting museum. It is just fascinating how many purses and bags are there and how special they are, the owners must have had special passion for bags, since the museum is private. Start from the top floor and then go down to see all the bags that are exhibited there.

Amazing! I had no expectations when I went here, it was mostly because it was raining and I wanted to be indoors, so came across this place accidentally. Beautiful bags and purses from the 16th to 21st century, well organized museum display, nice place to have tea and desserts.

Interesting place for bags fans. Also, for those ones, who is interested in history. The museum has a wide collection of bag from the oldest one (XVI century) to the iconic nowadays bags like Chanel and Birkin. It has an interactive activity for children (you can make your own bag on the screen and emailed it to you or someone else). Great Cafe, really!!! You can have there a tea party (one of the best in Amsterdam), and it's in XVII century building!! During warm weather you can enjoy your drink in a lovely garden with Fontaine and small pond with fishes.

World's largest collection of bags and purses dating from the 16th century to today. Pros: Polite and professional museum staff. Informative and interesting content. Cons: small museum space, as well as bad lightning.

Great collection of purses and clever Bag in Bloom idea, however I would have enjoyed more fresh flowers incorporated into that specific exhibition.

If you are interessted in handbags and their history, than this is a must. A museum made with love. And with very nice people as well. Several floors filled with bags, purses and information. And with a cute little bench next to it if you would like to sit on a bench in order to watch the boats on the canal.
