Wow, what a fun and interesting tour we had today. We were passionately shown around the building from which the Major carried out her work at the time. All questions were answered passionately from the perspective of the Salvation Army. Great and a recommendation to find out more about the Salvation Army.

The house of Major Bosshardt, a devote soldier of the salvation army. The house is in it's original state. You will get a tour with lots of infornation about het life and work and also information about the work of the salvation army in the present day. Highly recomended.

On a Saturday in January we visited the Major Bosshard House with two teenagers. After a warm welcome we received a short explanation with an introductory film. Then we visited the house itself, which still exudes the atmosphere of the past. The interactive way of explaining things on the attic floor was particularly impressive. We already knew something about the Salvation Army, but after an hour and a half we had learned a lot. Very friendly guidance from Gert. We had made a reservation, but were the only ones. So you can always give it a try, but it is best to make a reservation on the website anyway.

The guided tour was wonderful, the work of The Salvation Army in the Red Light District was explained very well and also the life of Majoor Bosshardt. The "house" is old and the stairs are steep, people with mobility issues would not be able to get the whole experience. It is best to book ahead so that the tour time is available.

Hidden jem right on the corner of the red light district. We found it by chance and the tour was very interesting about the major and the Salvation Army work to help people in need. Friendly staff who showed us a different side of Amsterdam. If you walk by I highly recommend to go inside.

Authentic visit in this small museum about social welfare in the red light district - for example the first shelter for women in distress. It casts original item from the 1960-1990 and shows the lifes of the "marginalized" and modern slavery.
