Luckily this museum is located in the quite charming historic center of Amstelveen (not the new center with museum Cobra - you can get at both places a combined ticket for a very good price btw and they are in roughly 15 min walking distance from each other). "Luckily" because around the corner is the historic railway station which is now a restaurant/café/bar which I would not have discovered otherwise and luckily because in Paris, Dubai or Melbourne I might have had overlooked this hidden gem. On top most beautiful gift shop I have seen in a long time... And, yes, indeed also very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice collection of art established by one of the founders of the Tomado factory in the Netherlands. Beautiful works of glass and some cool bronze, metal, and kinetic sculptures. The museum is quite small and has a charm of simplicity but well worth a visit. Take an hour or two to do justice to the art collected here.

A very beautiful building. Relatively small for a museum, but the art in it is much more compressed. The collection consists primarily of artistically cut or blown glass. I was surprised at how diverse the material is and can highly recommend the visit, even if it seems quite a long way from Amsterdam.

Been a friend of this museum for 20 years and seen it grow and grow. Attracts top modern Dutch artists with exhibitions rotating in and out every 6 weeks or so. Also a fine permanent collection of glass and abstract paintings by Sam Francis.

Beautiful and classic museum in tranquil Amstelveen. The permanent exhibition in the Jan Museum is an absolute highlight, especially for glass lovers, with many special exhibits. Definitely worth a visit.

"The wardrobe is not immediately next to the entrance!" We and several other people were told this when we walked in. Perhaps putting up a sign would be helpful! Otherwise, this museum is a true treasure. The glass exhibitions were phenomenal. I was highly impressed and I found it hard to ear myself away from most of the pieces that were on display. Definitely coming back. Parking nearby is free, there are also quite a few nice places to have a drink of a meal nearby.

A wonderful display of glass art, fantasy paintings, wind sculptures and other modern art often overlooked. A moderate walk or short bus ride from the Cobra museum. It packs a lot into a modest space.

A really nice museum of art, some lovely glassware, sculptures and paintings. Quite a large space but very well laid out. I spent a very enjoyable two hours here.

A collection of glassworks from several artists, some of them Czech, which surprised me a bit. Also some local art. And temporary exhibitions with workshops. Overall very nice small museum!
