I read The Hiding Place place as a young girl and always wanted to visit. Now that I’m older I’ve had the chance to visit on several occasions and love the feeling in the Ten Boom’s ‘beje’. The museum staff does a great job telling their story and pointing out important relics. Be sure to book ahead since space is limited. If you get a chance to step inside the actual hiding place, it really gives you a sense of what it must have been like.

An amazing story, even though I already knew most of the story of the family because I read the book The Hiding Place place as a child. Getting the chance to visit here was amazing. The museum staff did a amazing job of telling their story and pointing out important of what this family did with great detail. Loved it & we had a great experience. We did not have an appointment when got there but they had space to join the tour. (Later, I was told that usually you can’t get in without book ahead since space is limited.) The tour was absolutely fascinating & so worth it. Highly recommended this place.

This should be on your MUST SEE list for Haarlem. The story of Corrie ten Boom is amazing. What a woman. To see the house and imaging how these people lived during the war is sure to move you. The tour guide wasn't the best, he was a little bit scatter-brained and hard to follow, but it didn't detract from the building and the story of Corrie ten Boom.

We had a great time touring the town of Haarlem. I read about Corrie ten Boom to my students and so I had to visit to be able to being pictures back of the places we read about in our book. She was an amazing woman with an amazing story and an amazing faith. If you're in Haarlem be sure to stop here before or after getting some poffertjes and stopping by the North Sea.

Interesting free visit. Just remember to make your reservation in advance if you want to secure your spot. We went without reservation and could make it due to some others not making it to their reservations. Our Jamaican guide Marguerite gave a great tour! Lots of Cristian subliminal content between the narrative, but still worth it. On the photo the wall behind which the resistance and jews were hidden.

We initially were disappointed as by the time we had finalized our travel plans all of the English tours were booked. It was pouring rain and so thanks to a few no-shows we were still able to join the tour. Sounds like that is not the norm. I have read many of Corrie ten Booms books and was thrilled to be able to step into the secret room and hold Corrie’s suitcase. So many of the stories shared I already was very familiar with, but to see it all in person was amazing. Just walking the streets of Haarlem filled with bicycles brought to mind Corrie pedaling her tireless bike through the city, rattling over the cobblestone on an errand for the resistance. Will never forget this!

A fantastic visit of the Ten Boom house. Our guide, Kitty, was fantastic. Definitely need to reserve ahead of time as it is free to enter, but such a small space. There is a donation box where you can support their efforts, as well as a gift shop. To address a couple of the negative reviews: we had a translator on our tour. Note the tour does have a tight timeline to move through the house, so translations will be a bit short, the guide has to wait for the translation to finish, but can't allow the tour time to double. The guide managed this well. It may be beneficial to have sheets or pamphlets available with some information in other languages. Also, if you feel there will be too much Christianity talk, this is not the case. It was only mentioned a couple times. It is important to note the Ten Booms were very devout Christians.

Very nice place as part of the history of the Ten Boom family and especially Corrie ten Boom. They have Dutch and English tour guides. I experienced the Dutch (a few years ago) but I love the English tour guide. Before you go make sure you have a reservation but without is possible but then you are last in line

The Ten Boom museum is in Haarlem, Netherlands. This is the home where Corrie Ten Boom's family hid Jews during World War II. Her story was featured in the 1975 movie "The Hiding Place." The museum was closed for a special event the day we visited, but the jewelry shop that was in the bottom of the house (which used to be the family clock shop during WWII) permitted us to look in the back to see a portion of the house though we could not enter it that day. That is how I got a few shots of the interior including the staircase and living room of the house.

This our favorite site we visited in Amsterdam. Guides are extremely knowledgeable and good storytellers (we were with Joyce, she did fantastic.) Tours are offered both in English and in Dutch, I would recommend reserving in advance (and don’t be late 😉). A great experience, you can really feel the strength and kindness of the family as you hear their story in their home.

Corrie ten boom and their family are an inspiration to many. Their self less love towards People in need and Jews is a testimony for many generations passed, present and in the further.. still continue to inspire many people. Thanks to Anne the guide for her help and explaining all timeline of events patiently. Glory to God Almighty!

I have always loved the Corrie Ten Boom story and how Jesus worked through her and her family to help the Jews. I loved the tour! And so did my mom. We came all the way from the United States just to see this. The guide was wonderful. We wished it could have been longer - an hour didn’t even seem like enough time. ❤️

Incredible! Our guide was wonderful and sweet. She sat us down in the actual living room and told us the story. It was wondering to see the actual hiding place. Make reservations online in advance.

So moving and interesting with stories from a wonderful guide showing real photos and the actual house and hiding place for the Jews. Tickets had to be pre-booked in English or Dutch guided tours of 1 hour.

So inspiring to hear Corrie Ten Boom's story and visit the house. Our guide was lovely and very informative. Amazing to see the actual 'Hiding place'! Will want to visit again.

For those who are familiar with the story - it's interesting to add a place to the names. It gives you another opportunity to re-live and better understand the significance of their feat of faith in the face of hostility and sure death. Hiding the Jews has never been popular either then nor now, but a heart filled with God's love doesn't care about popularity - it cares about following God's truth and saving all if possible, at all costs, including one's own life. It's a great reminder for all believers out there for our times, as it becomes more relevant with each day.

What a wonderful experience! I booked my ticket a couple of months in advance.. and read one of Corrie ten Boom’s books (the Hiding Place) before going to the museum. The tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable about the history of the house and about the trials and tribulations that Corrie had experienced. Add this museum to your list of places to visit in Haarlem..you won’t be disappointed!

A true story of courage! This is a great visit and way less crowded than Anne Frank house. Highly recommended with knowledgeable tour guides.

Attended the English tour even though it was fully booked online. Our guide was gracious enough to allow ‘walk-ins’. Show up 5-10 minutes before and speak kindly to the guide. Great tour. Our kids thought it was more interesting than the Anne Frank House!

This was a wonderful place to visit and learn more about the Ten Boom family and how they hide and protected Jews and others from the Nazis Tickets are free but required to enter so make sure to get your tickets well before you plan to go. If you don’t have a ticket, you can try to show up before a tour and see if there are any openings due to a no-show of a ticket holder. This is how we were able to go.

the Ten Boom Museum in Haarlem offers a unique opportunity to explore the courageous actions of the Ten Boom family during World War II. While I didn't personally connect with the museum as much as others in my group did, I acknowledge its historical importance and the meaningful experience it provides for those who are familiar with the family's story. Therefore, I give it a solid four-star rating and encourage history enthusiasts to visit and form their own connection with this significant part of the past.

Fritz is the best tour guide ever, jumping between 3 different languages! A lovely story of Corrie Ten Boom with great detail and touching sentiment. Loved it, a great experience.

Top tip is to book in advance as they have limited numbers in at once. Our guide was very informative. It is free to go in with an optional donation. Stairs are steep so bare that in mind. Haarlem is a lovely little town and easy to get to via public transport.

An amazing story, even though I already knew the story of the family the lovely guide brought it to life. We booked the English tour and it was absolutely fascinating. Cannot recommend this highly enough for Christians and for history lovers alike.

We just happened upon the Ten Boom house/museum and what a little gem. The lady who took our English speaking group around was extremely knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm for the Ten Boom family. Especially Clarrie. One word of warning she was exceptionally evangelical! Well worth a visit for the fascinating history of this family.

As a lifelong fan of Corrie ten Boom, I found the visit to her house mostly disappointing. Sure, seeing the hiding place and climbing the staircase she describes in her books was exciting. However, the tour itself left a lot to be desired. Almost nothing in the house is original, and the guide provided more current political commentary than she did information about the family or their work. I learned nothing new about the ten Booms from visiting their home. The museum would be well served by having a professional curator develop the place and then create a robust narrative for the guides to follow.

Great story and very well led by English speaking guide. Our guide gave a good historical context, ten Boom family overview and brought relevance to today. Was SUPER

We arrived too late for the last English tour, and I wad grateful to be included in the Flemish tour. I am so familiar with Corrie's story I was still able to follow. What a joy to be in the house.

We visited on 08/04/22 having booked in advance. Some booked on our tour did not show up so several who had not booked were able to join. We booked an English speaking tour and our Dutch guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the Ten Boom family, war-time suffering & the faith she shared with Corrie Ten Boom. Much of what we saw was not original, but was recreated. It would have been nice to have been informed about the photographs. Our guide gave us longer than the allocated hour. We didn't interact much with other visitors and wish we had.
