Pretty park, no entrance fee, well maintained with some wilder spots and broad paths. All in all something for everyone; a labyrinth and small train for the kids. A pond that looks pretty. Some older and wilder parts and some tamer parts. Close to the city and well maintained. Food options also available (pancakes and others). Great for families and kids.

Lovely park for pedestrians! Family friendly, elderly friendly, and pets friendly park! There’s a beautiful bridge that connects the city and the woods area of the park. Mini-golf station inside the park, and beautiful cherry blossom trees! (Will have to return during spring time to see it). They even have a meditation center for a mini urban retreat. 🧘🏻‍♀️

One of the most beautiful parks in Amsterdam. It's full of installations, sign posted walks, a small museum (they had sound installations), Japanese garden, fountain and petting zoos. They have running tracks next to the river, flowers of many kinds and also various animals like kangaroos, goats, lamas etc. There are plenty of ducks, herons and other birds. Bins are placed in multiple locations so you can easily dispose of your trash conveniently as enjoy nature in a clean, fresh surroundings. Parking is free on Sundays and there are plenty of spaces for bike parking as well. 10/10 would highly recommend. If you're visiting the museums, take some change with you for the donation box.

What a beautiful experience that has been walking around Amstel Park. I had a nice walk around the park at 7am in the morning, and there was such peace. The sound of the wind whooshing through the trees, little spots with sculptures or animals... Small paths through the woods that momentarily immerse you within nature. A nice pocket of peace in the middle of a Modern city. I'm sure in the afternoon/evening it'll get quite packed so I strongly advise you to go early in the morning to fully enjoy this place!

Very nice Park! A bit isolated só it's not very easy to get into it but overall pretty fun. The minigolf part is very nice too.

Very peaceful and big park in Amsterdam. I love French fries and ice in the park. There’s a train going around the park for kids. 3 Euro per person. It takes about 15 minutes to take. There’s also a washroom in a several places here.

Huge park. Was very empty when I went during the week. I have been told it can be very busy on a sunny weekend. There is lots to do here. From mini golf to playgrounds to a petting zoo.

A big park with lots of offerings. Lots of little forest paths, water to walk around, a rose garden, and some art installations to look at. If your thinking of picnicking there just know that bikes and barbecuing is not allowed. You can bring a dog, but there are no places they can go off the lead and they are not allowed on any of the forest paths. So main walkways only. For kids you have a lot of options at least 2 playgrounds, lots of big flat cement walkways for strollers or new walkers, a petting Zoo, and even a train ride. The park also has a cafe where you can grab a snack or a more upscale restaurant.

Beautiful park to have a great time with family, friends or even alone. Some different paths to follow. The only point is the small place for the kangaroo, as the park is big, his place could be a bit bigger

Title: Amstelpark: A Tranquil Oasis in the Heart of Amsterdam Rating: ★★★★☆ Amstelpark, located in the vibrant city of Amsterdam, offers a delightful escape from the bustling urban environment. This expansive park is a hidden gem that beautifully combines natural beauty with recreational activities, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. One of the standout features of Amstelpark is its lush greenery, meticulously manicured gardens, and serene water bodies. As you step into the park, you are greeted by a sense of tranquility that instantly washes away the stresses of everyday life. The well-maintained pathways meander through colorful flower beds, ornamental shrubs, and tall trees, providing a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful picnic. The park's diverse attractions cater to people of all ages and interests. Nature enthusiasts will find solace in the Amstel riverbank, where they can enjoy a scenic walk or sit back and watch the boats gently glide by. The Japanese Zen garden is a true masterpiece, transporting visitors to a serene and contemplative space. Meanwhile, families can spend quality time at the playgrounds, which are equipped with modern facilities and ample space for children to play and explore. One of the highlights of Amstelpark is the Amstelpark Railway, a miniature train system that takes visitors on a charming ride around the park. Both children and adults will find delight in this nostalgic experience, as they chug along the tracks and take in the sights. The park also offers other recreational activities such as mini-golf, a maze, and a petting zoo, ensuring there is always something to entertain everyone. For those seeking a cultural experience, Amstelpark houses the Amsterdam Forest Theatre, a unique open-air theater that hosts various performances throughout the year. Whether it's a play, a concert, or a dance show, the theater adds an artistic touch to the park, making it an ideal destination for culture enthusiasts. Amstelpark is also well-equipped with facilities to ensure visitors' comfort. Clean restrooms, cozy cafés, and picnic areas are strategically placed throughout the park, providing ample opportunities to relax and rejuvenate. The staff members are friendly and helpful, offering guidance and information to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. The only slight drawback of Amstelpark is that during peak tourist seasons, it can get crowded, especially on weekends. However, with its vast expanse, there is usually enough space to find a peaceful spot away from the crowds. Overall, Amstelpark is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a tranquil escape within Amsterdam. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational activities, and cultural offerings make it a well-rounded park that appeals to visitors of all ages. Whether you're looking for a place to unwind, enjoy a family outing, or immerse yourself in nature, Amstelpark delivers a truly delightful experience.

Exploring this park, where I spent the entire day with nature and charming animals like goats, ducks, and llamas, was peaceful. But it was the monument that nearly brought tears to my eyes. Its significance and beauty added a profound layer to the experience. This park is a haven of natural beauty and heartfelt moments – a must-visit for anyone seeking a tranquil and meaningful day outdoors.

This is such a beautiful park in Amsterdam! The Japanese park is amazing during cherry blossom season! There are plenty of benches throughout the park, take-away restaurant for a quick bite or a sweet treat and open toilets (quite important during Covid times) Perfect for a nice walk, rollerblading stroll or a lovely family day!

This place is serene and gorgeous. We came when all the attractions were closed but that was ok, we enjoyed the many playgrounds and free petting zoo. Seriously you just walk into the fenced in meadow and start petting friendly cows, goats and donkeys. No one is there to stop you. They have a nice cafe in the center of the park next to a pond with fountains. It's all so peaceful.

We lucked out when we visited on a Sunday, because there was an outdoor market with lots of amazing food vendors. Also recommend taking the 15 minute train ride for 3.5 Euro each, whether you have kids or you're a kid at heart.

Best place to go on a bright sunny day. Lots of open space to roam around and have a peaceful walk. It also has a playground for kids which is free of cost and anyone can play there. There are paid rides also which kids will like. Easily accessible as well by bus and tram.

Beautiful riverside and canals all around the city parks. The windmill is awesome near Rembrandt's statue. Luxurious villas and boat homes decorate the green scenery. A mix of architecture accompanied by artistic exhibits blend together to provide a romantic feel to a city floating on water.

A great park! Large space, where you can find a lot of different patterns of ways and attractions, mainly for children. There are many animals, too, you can enjoy and take a lot of pictures. There is a mollen by the end. I totally recommend a visit there!

  • 5/5 Gerb R. 3 years ago on Google
Fantastic playground in a garden park setting for four to twelve year old kids. Lots for them to do, some free and some one euro per ride. There is also a clean paid restroom facility and a snackbar with a large patio. The prices here are a bit steep as is the parking at 2.50 per hour. Don't let the few extra euros stop you from going though, your kids will have a great time!
