The default route for any race cyclist looking for a way to do 20km (or 40, 60) with very little traffic and authentic Dutch landscape (Rembrandt style)

Rondehoep is a very scenic polder. Its landscape is full of beautiful sights, sounds and smells. There’s plenty of agriculture to see and nature to spot with bird spotting sites nearby. It’s surrounded by a road that can easily be cycled around as a day trip from Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. The complete road loop around Rondehoep is about 17km starting from Ouderkerk which is about a 10km ride up the Amstel from central Amsterdam. Be aware it’s very exposed to the wind so it can be hard riding on windy days. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in Ouderkerk to choose from.

If you like good round in circles, wiggly circles, this is the cycling route for you. If you want to get out of Amsterdam and escape but not go too far then this is thr cycle route for you. There are good stops along the way if you want a coffee or a beer. Its one of the best ways to see a bit more of Amsterdam that you never knew existed although technically its not in amsterdam. There are also loads of cows, sheep and goats to look at. If the weather is good, this is the place to ride. Go do it now

Just wonderful ! Little traffic, lovely panoramic views, a great cycling route along the Waver - with some figuring out you can compile a good skate route, missing out on bad tarmac.
