If you want to call it a museum at least have more than stands with drawings. I felt like I was going to get run into by kids that were running around due to it being so crowded. Uninteresting if you're not a child anymore and the staff literally give you no implications that this isn't for childless adults. If I do have children I would take them to a McDonald's because the hygiene may be better. Please to god change that god awful name to something else other than "museum"!!

suitable for kid between 0 - 5. There are too much people for such small rooms. I'd not even call this place a museum. This is a kindergarden with theme. Some says this is a rather small place. I cannot agree more. The rule about maximum people in one area is not being respected at all.

It's a beautiful place for children. I went by myself just to see how it is and I enjoyed it a lot, even if I couldn't used the toys and games that are there for the kids. If you have kids and you're visiting Utrecht you should come here. Also, in weekends they're full, so maybe the best thing to do is make a reservation online.

really nice business mode, a small place and almost nothing fancy and electric, you only need to hire 1 or 2 stuff to organize toys from time to time. I can give a 4 star because the kids under 5 can really have fun here.

Waste of money, small, not very interactive, just the traffic bit is ok. To many people around per room. Felt unsafe, could be so much better even with the space available...

A great place for babies. I guess starting from 8 months you can come here. Very nice girl asked ask if we have any discount cards I said only if you have any discounts for refugees from Ukraine and they made us free entry after showing our passports. It's very nice from their side. A lot of children all around the world come here and it's really nice place to play with your child.

Nice museum for the little ones until the age of 6. They could play with everything in miffy theme. There's not much for the parents or older children. Would be nice to have more information for adults and older children, cause they also find miffy cute and interesting and it's great if it's a family museum. However for little ones this is really great.

They have lots of nice and cute activities especially for the kids. Parents can enjoy showing your little ones how these activities work, so you can have such a quality time together.

Nice place for the kids to spend 1-2 hrs. max. You shouldn't expect too much as a museum though. I was thinking that we might see some interesting stuff while the kids are playing but almost fainted... Good for kids up to age 4. Esp if they love nijntje, then it's definitely a good experience for them.

It is located in the center of Utrecht so walking is the best choice. FYI: the parking garage de Grift hoek is a great parking choice as it is reviewed as having low break ins and is a 15 walk away. If you have a museumkaart, entrance is gratis(free). It is a great place for the little ones to explore. There are some displays giving information about Nijntje and other related things. The museum caters to children. There are bathrooms, changing diaper area, lockers and a small cafe inside. It is the perfect activity to do if parents need a break. Online tickets online in advance.

Really awesome indoor playground in a Nijntje theme! Super cool and creative ways for kids to enjoy and have an awesome time. They limit how many kids can go in so it doesn't get crowded. There's a bit of air conditioning so even during the hotter days it's okay to visit. Friendly staff, good clean toilet facilities and cleaning places for babies and there's a nursing room. Kind of impossible to miss them as the place is not that big and they're right in the middle. So I don't understand some of the criticism that these were not present. Well worth the money. Our kids of 3 and 5 had a blast. As an adult without kids it's likely not interesting enough.

It looked very nice on website but in reality is was very small. The ski winter thème was not there I did ask seems only in winter time. The price is not to exspensive so not a waist of money but in my opinion they can do much better.

This place is very nice. The kids can go on there own true this magic fun path true the museum that is special made and designed for kids. It's all about the kids character "Nijntje", look it up on Google. You can park best probably at Vaartsche Rijn. We were parked here and it was only a 10 minute walk.

Amazing place for kids to play and explore Miffy's life. We brought our kids there and they spent 4 hours playing in joy. We found it was quite hard to ask them to leave the place, making us stay there until the closing hour (5 pm). They have lots of playing area, all designed to mimic the world of Miffy and in the scale of children (they even have water tap in children scale). All toilets are equipped with changing diaper area. A place for breastfeeding is also available in the 2nd floor, in the picnic area section.

The museum is moved now to a new location (old Library), which has more open space than original location, but lighting is not natural it gives dizziness after a few hours inside. Young Kids love the (pretending) playground, it is not really a museum, if you are looking for a museum Utrecht has better choices like spoorweg and speelklok museums. The staff at the snack corner is very rude, they should really learn how to treat and respect customers with kids situations.

  • 5/5 Ecel Roja S. 2 years ago on Google
Great for little kids up to 5. This place is so adorable. As an adult, it helps you guide your kids to learn about different things in their environment like the hospital, petting zoo, and the traffic rules.

  • 1/5 names p. 2 years ago on Google
Hell on earth :) at the most quiet time still extreme levels of noise. Fighting over 3 bikes with grandparents ripping bikes out of kids hands to ‘reserve’ them for their grandchildren and other parents letting their kids use a bike for 30 mins straight. No oversight by any staff in the play areas. Way too busy and disappointing level of games.

Great place for younger children. Every room has something for them to do. Our 3 and 1 year old daughters had a lot of fun, definitely recommend.

I went to this place with not a lot of expectations, I didn't know the character and thought it was just a way to get tourist money. However seems as this is a place that locals with little kids visit frequently and I know definitely why. For kids from 1 to 8 or so it would be an awesome experience.its plenty of activities to do for them. They are going to enjoy a lot touching, smelling, playing... Awesome place for little kids that you shouldn't miss if you are here . Besides you have a place inside for a coffyor bite that we didn't try, but that it looks very convenient.

Lovely place to spend an hour. Community work is exceptional

  • 1/5 Gustavo F. 2 years ago on Google
I was expecting much much more considering the fame of the character. It’s all too simple. It’s definitely not a museum, it’s pretty much a thematic daycare. It was also too full and the kids were done after 15 minutes.

Sure, it's cute. But we visited the "kinderboeken museum" in The Hague before we went here and because of this we had a really high standard. We won't visit the nijntje museum again, since it is much smaller and has a lot less variety of activities. So if it's your first time, or The Hague is too far away, you should really go here. If not, go to the "kinderboeken museum". But both musea will defenetly keep your kids entertained ;)

A cute experience for toddlers and young children. It has a shop where you can buy nice souvenirs.

  • 5/5 Garrett C. 4 months ago on Google
Great place for kids 5 and under to learn and play. Lots of tactile things to touch and play with, and it’s super bright and colorful. Few notes: everything is in Dutch, and the food in the cafe is vegan only. Strollers are allowed, but discouraged because it gets full quick in the play area. They sell out fast, so buy your tickets in advance.

  • 4/5 Ngoc Do (. 4 months ago on Google
Very interactive and perfect for families with kids. There are lots of space for them to play and hang out. Not really for adults without children.

  • 4/5 Rachel J. 6 months ago on Google
Great museum for young kids - mine were 1 and 3 and they both loved it. Lots of rooms to explore and interact with. This is not a museum for adults without kids! It’s more like a Miffy/Nijntje themed softplay/play village. Food at the cafe is pretty expensive.

  • 5/5 Elke M. 6 months ago on Google
Fun for kids between 2-4 maybe 5. They can play, learn, walk, run, bike around and the different rooms all have different themes.

  • 5/5 Judy L. 5 months ago on Google
What's not to love? The new museum is very nicely thought out and laid out in such a way that children can focus on one thing at a time. There are pods for quiet time and bathrooms on every floor. There is plenty of space and the activities have recommendations for what the child could be practicing when they're in a particular spot (I.e., counting, colors) but there's no instructions on what to do, so there's plenty of imagination involved. The entire place is built around how children play.

  • 5/5 Chloe H. 4 months ago on Google
Perfect for children as there are so many interactive activities for them! But if you don’t have children but love Nijntje and the work of Bruna then it’s still worth visiting and reading the information of his work. We really enjoyed our time here :)

  • 5/5 Alvaro L. 7 months ago on Google
We brought our twin toddlers and they loved it! It's like being inside the books and videos of Nijntje. The spaces are separated by themes and there are a lot of interactive games for the kids. I can see that their loved it (by the end of the day they were exhausted). I am also surprised how the whole Nijntje topic is reflected in the museum very well. Kudos! Booking is very preferred, since tickets are sold out on the door.

I like it, it helps kids learn all daily activities at home. 2 hrs you can spend very well with kids upto 5 years.

This is the best place to take small toddlers and young children in Utrecht city. It's a wonderful sprawl of interactive exhibits, toys, and lots of places to sit while the kids play. The cafe and gift shop are also great. Book your tickets online easily before you visit and there are coat racks and lockers to use when you get inside

  • 5/5 Satya R. 1 year ago on Google
For Toddlers. My 4 year old enjoyed it throughout. It's in a small area but neatly managed. You have enough space to leave strollers, free lockers to store your stuff and well maintained kid-friendly washrooms. You have a cafe attached for quick coffee. If your kid is a miffy fan it's a must visit place. I would recommend booking the slot online if you plan to visit on the weekend. You can easily engage the toddlers for 2-3 hours. There are few interactive stuff, a lot of pretend plays, story telling space with books, space for craft and coloring. If you have time I would recommend visiting speelklok museum that is just back of this one.

Although under renovation right now, they still provide a good light show at night running every 15min. It’s a cute animation worth watching. That’s if you can locate this place.

  • 3/5 Anaclara “Queen” P. 1 year ago on Google
It's probably excellent at its original location, as it is, in he temporary building it's not much to see and do. It's fun if you have the museum card.

  • 1/5 CW W. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely staff, very friendly but hospitality is not hard to get, it is about eat drink with your people you have brought yourself and stay in your bubble and whenever you need something get out of the bubble, and you will get it. Waiters are very busy but luckily they are walking back and forwards so whenever you need them it is easy. Food is not worth it as I can match this with bar food what you can get in your local pub as food is for when you have drunk some beers and wants something to stuff your alcohol hunger. I kinda disappointed because I was really looking forwards to German food as it is not easy to find. I will not come back as prices are okeish, but still feeling scammed. 1.5/10 points goes more less to the staff and due to option to eat German cuisine.

Fun for kinds under 5, though the old location is more authentic. Disappointed that canteen did not agree to provide tap water in own bottle unless you buy smth from them. Really? It’s should be a child friendly location.

It’s a paradise for kids, specially small kids, 1-5 years old. It’ll be boring for big kids and adults. Kids older than 1 need tickets, so a museum card is suggested. It’s smelled like in a kindergarten...

A favorite place for my 3 year old! He loves playing there for hours - gardening with Nijntje, prepping meals in the kitchen, sipping tea in the colorful shadow theater, riding a bike, a train, a boat and a bus, browsing books, playing games, pretending to be a doctor, a farmer or a painter, and so much more. The staff is very friendly.

In the café opposite the museum you can end with a Miffy pancake and / or Miffy cake. Staff was very nice too. It could have been a bit bigger for us. We drove quite a bit to visit here. We probably wouldn't have done this if we knew it wasn't that big. On the other hand, it is nice when the weather is good to combine it with a nice visit to the attractive city center of Utrecht.
