I don’t drink beer but wanted to learn. I was skeptical about the experience when I heard it was self guided. However, you’re not just reading information for the tour it is broken up with animated, happy, funny guides explaining and educating throughout. The staff is all young and healthy and fun and it seems like they all had a great time working but they are also working hard and the experience is efficient and well run. They also have these experiences where are you are they are being made and a chance or you can make free funny videos of yourself. It’s really genius actually. Again, I don’t even drink beer but I found this experience to be really interesting and fun. We were highly impressed by the staff and the variety. They do have alcohol free beer.

Slightly overpriced for what it is. Would have rather have it been an entire guides tour rather than make your way around. I think the best sections are actually the ones more focused on social media and marketing. Other than that It was a nice experience, the bar where you get to enjoy your beer at the end is quite nice with a good atmosphere regardless of the time. Not exactly sure I would recommend this attraction although if you have time and money why not.

Visited at noon, and booked online a few hours before. Was great to learn the history of Heineken and how it come to be so popular. Best part is the tasting area at the end of the tour where you can sample the products and even compete in pouring the perfect pint

Great experience - would recommend irrespective of whether your a beer lover or not. The whole experience was in English which I totally appreciate. You learn about the history, the process, tasting, neon light and 3D effects! One of the top things to do in Amsterdam

The Heineken Experience in Amsterdam is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to this vibrant city! From start to finish, the tour offers an immersive and entertaining journey through the history and brewing process of one of the world's most iconic beer brands. The interactive exhibits, including the brewing simulations and tasting sessions, are both educational and fun for visitors of all ages. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience. The highlight, of course, is enjoying a freshly brewed Heineken straight from the source in the historic brewery building. The atmosphere is lively and engaging, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and enjoyable activity in Amsterdam, the Heineken Experience exceeds all expectations. Don't miss out on this unforgettable adventure!

Absolutely loved the Heineken Experience. We had a great time. The tour was really interesting and I learnt a lot about the process of making beer. We were provided with lots of samples beer. I remember that it was 2 glasses by the end of the visit (before corona) and last time it was only one glass.

The Heineken Experience is one of its kind. Don’t worry if you haven’t purchased your tickets in advance, you can also go there and purchase it. The tour is on an average 90 minute long unless you like to read each placard and take pictures in every spot. There are group slots available each 15 minutes. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, the tour is very commercialized, but in a good way of course.

Amazing experience - so so worth it! My boyfriend wanted to visit here, but I enjoyed it as well and it ended up being our favourite Amsterdam activity. The museum is interesting, and has a lot of interactive parts + guided rooms. Their tour guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. You end up getting 3 beers included with your tickets per person, and you can even have a go pouring your own drink. Overall, so so worth the price of the ticket. Highly recommend!!

(Pics and tour taken pre-COVID). Probably the coolest brewery tour I've been on. They give you two free beers via bracelet, there's lots of cool history, and there's even a dance floor in there! I really enjoyed it because it's very interactive and a cool vibe overall.

A great place to spend a few hours especially on a rainy afternoon in Amsterdam. The mood is jolly, the interactive section is full of fun things to take photos with and the conclusion in the bar is great. Nice shop as well

We had an awesome time at the Heineken museum - not what I expected at all. Many interactive guides along the way and a chance to taste the beer at different stops. The best part of the tour was the pouring challenge at the very end of the tour. A fun place to go with friends or with beer lovers!

The VIP tour was wonderful! The expert guide told us in detail about the history of the factory and how to make the beer. We were a group of 10 people and it was very easy to communicate closely with the guide and with each other. We had access to a private and secret bar and received a personalized gift. In total I had 8 beers: Heineken and 4 other types from the catalogue. I recommend it because you really receive VIP attention and the experience is unique. Proost!

This is a review of the VIP experience. From start to finish, the whole experience was amazing. A small group (5-8 people) provided a nice tour of the facility with areas not seen with the standard tour. The guide we had was fantastic, and the tasting in the private bar was superb. I would definitely recommend the VIP tour for those who like Heineken or just love touring beer breweries.

I went to visit spontaneously and purchased ticket on the spot. They only accept cards, no cash. Interesting guided tour that explained the history and how beer is made. Recommended for beer drinker. The basic tour also includes 3 glass of beer. I went at 1030am so it was too much beer so early in the morning, but refreshing none the less

Absolutely brilliant visit. We bought our tickets online in advance as we knew wanted to visit. We went at 10.30 when it opened. There are free lockers for your bags and you can also check your coats before beginning the tour. The staff were so upbeat, friendly, energetic, knowledgeable and funny. I cannot rate them highly enough! There are several different part to the tour which explains the history behind the beer and how it is made. You also get a free audio guide that you can scan using your phone and listen in the language of your choice. You are given a token for 2 half pints at the end of the tour. A fantastic experience from start to finish. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

A must do if you are a big fan of beer and Netherlands history as Heineken is a stable in the global beer stage. The entire experience is well created with so many activities to do for both beer drinkers, non-drinkers and also children too! You get the history, the process of making beer, the visual demonstration, the hands-on and the customer experience. There is a nice shop at the end for you to pick up something unique. You can also get a personalized bottle of your own Heineken beer with your name engraved on it. Very cool!

Many interactive areas and personalized souvenirs Including 2 medium beers in the bar located at the end of the tur plus a small beer during the same.

I’m basing this review on the VIP tour. While it is nothing against our guide . I don’t think the VIP tour is worth the extra £30 euros . You still get 3 half pints during the normal tour , and see all the main areas , and still can make your own named bottle (which is about 7€ . - and you can choose the bottle you like - unlike VIP where you seem are to given a bottle at random ). Yes you see areas of a small collection of old advertising / memorabilia , have an informative tour, and have a tasting session of 5 beers in a “secret” bar , and while enjoyable - is it with the extra money, not sure. - which is the reason for 3 stars

A visually stimulating experience! Very interesting to know the history behind the beer giant and what goes into making it. The guide was informative and friendly. Heineken’s partnership with multiple sports leagues and tournaments have been converted into an interactive space with great use of virtual and augmented reality. This is a must-visit to anyone who visits Amsterdam!

We had the privilege of visiting in March 2011. We purchase the I Amsterdam card, which had one entry ticket for the museum. At the time it was an interactive tour, you learned about which bacteria, hops and barley were used to create the original recipe, and you were also part of the experience by helping turning hops into a large barrel in the brewing kitchen. At the end of your tour they offered a pint of Heineken to end your day. There’s gift shop at the end of the tour where you can purchase your own custom Heineken glasses, and Heineken bottles custom to you.

Really lovely experience, very well explained about the history of Heineken beer. Make sure you keep your wrist band safe as you get free drinks with that at the end of the tour. The only problem was, they really packed a lot of us in at once and sometimes we were left at the back of the herd not being able to hear what the guide was saying. So making it into smaller more intimate group sizes would help. Other than that, it’s a lovely experience!

Visited with a big group and was excited as had heard a lot of positive reviews about the place, but it kind of didn't live upto the hype. I had the notion that you get to see actual beer getting manufactured and they also have a session on beer like how to pour a proper glass etc. But it's more like a museum. A few games and activities were okayish. You get 2 tokens which can be used to get 2 glass of beers in a good pub like setting which was fun. But overall if you are on a short trip would rather go for a cruise or enjoy some of the cafes instead of visiting this place

It was an amazing experience to watch how a bear was distilled in a distillery. They will provide two bears with a tour, and we can write our name on the bear bottles. I loved it because we could experience the real machines that were used previously for the distillation process. I went to the Scottish Whisky Experience, but they don't have the physical equipment in the centre. Must-visit place in Amsterdam.

Check out this cool tour that explains the history of beer and how it's made – perfect for beer lovers! The basic package even hooks you up with three glasses of beer, and if you're lucky, maybe more. The staff is super friendly, energetic, and knows their stuff, plus they're funny. It's a fun time! Cheers! 🍻

Had a great time here! From the tour itself to the beer of course! Loads of things to see and do within the experience and definitely a must when visiting Amsterdam. Fantastic place. The value for money was really great as well. You get two free beers included in the price, although they're not pint glasses, they're about 250ml, I guess that's how much Dutch people like to drink. While Heineken in the UK is cheap and one of the worst lagers, the Heineken here is amazing. The trip includes a virtual 3D Heineken factory trip, making you feel like a bottle of Heineken. You can also play FIFA for however long you want and then go to the gift shop which has plenty of nice things to buy

I really had a great time at Heineken, we had a tour guide and 5 max person per tour because of this corona thing which is more convenient because the tour guide explains everything there is to know about Heineken. From history, to taste testing the beer, and a lot of fun activities as seen on my photos. I really suggest you guys stop by Heineken when you’re in Amsterdam. But please stay safe, keep the social distancing and wear your mask because you’re required to wear it on buses, trains and metros. Have fun! 😊

Great experience to know the history of Heineken! Spent almost the whole day at that place and there’s too many things to see! I’m sort of a history buff so it’s fascinating to see they kept a lot of antique stuff about Heineken. The place also has a lot of high tech exhibit that makes it fun for everyone. The guided tour is a must because there’s a lot of inside stories about the history of this brand. Depending on luck, some of the guides are super hilarious because I could hear quite some laughter from some other groups. And at the end of the tour, you finish it with a pint of that cold refreshing beer. A legendary way to end the day! A must go for any tourist visiting Amsterdam!

This was back in 2013 but I tell the story so often I figured why not tell the world (of Google maps). I've been to many breweries around the world and they all were done in an educational way. This one did the same but slightly different. Along the way they taught us how to pour a beer and how to properly drink it. They also had a room full of "things you can do while you drink Heineken" like karaoke, foosball, etc. From my point of view they got a couple beers in us and put us in a room full of fun stuff. Here I am with my two American friends that didn't speak a lick of Dutch singing Dutch karaoke with people that didn't speak a lick of English. They had English karaoke too but this was way more fun! You also got two tokens for more beer at the end in the traditional bar setting. Now this isn't going to happen to everyone but I'll share anyway because it's fun. There was a group of people that didn't drink. One of the men gave me his tokens. In suit, *all* of his friends gave me theirs too. Let's just say we didn't waste a single token. We asked the bar back if he would mind us keeping the empties on our table so we can count. He knew what was going on and laughed. The table was full of empty glasses, which came out to about 6 each. By far the most fun brewery I've ever been to. Six out of five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

(Translated by Google) Even if you don't like beer, you can't help but hear about Heineken. Well, she was born here! You can enjoy a well-organized tour with a bonus of two beers. The whole story of a man's dream of owning a beer brand is traced. It creates a feeling of participation in something great every time you open a new bottle. I have visited other beer museums, but this one seems to be the biggest. You will not regret. In the presentation, the boy guarantees that Heineken has the same taste all over the world: in Amsterdam, in London, in Paris, in Sofia, in Simitli, in the village of Golyamo Novo ... Cheers!

(Translated by Google) I found it an extremely interesting place. They teach you the history of beer and business. It has many historical backgrounds and relics of beer bottles-machines. During the tour, which is always done by a tour guide in different languages (not Greek), they drink beer 2 or three times. And at the end at the bar you can have another 2 beers before you leave. Many people work inside the museum as it is not a simple presentation of historical events. It has many artistic events and actors-entertainers who give their own show with always the central theme of beer. Finally, I must definitely mention the special and special technological effects that this museum has with many projectors, lights, sound and screens that at some point complete a magical landscape - environment. It is worth visiting this museum down to the last euro. I recommend it 100% (Original) Το βρήκα εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον μέρος. Σου μαθαίνουν την ιστορία της μπύρας αλλά και της επιχείρησης. The brewery is a huge building from 1867 and beer was brewed here until 1988 when the brewery in Zoeterwoude took over. Now no beer is brewed here anymore, but instead the building functions as a museum, the Heineken Experience. The entrance includes three glasses of beer (or soft drink) and a small gift, which turned out to be a beer glass in a tin can. Here you can learn about the founder Gerard Adriaan Heineken, that Heineken is Europe's largest brewery and that Heineken is sold in over 170 countries. In the museum's stable, I saw the large Shire horses (the largest horse breed in the world) that used to pull the heavy beer carts. The huge copper vessels are also shown here before reaching the first bar. The most fun at the whole museum was "the Bottle Ride", a large cinema screen where you got to experience what it is like to be a beer bottle on the assembly line. There are two bars where you can cool off with beer or soft drinks and at the end a souvenir shop with everything from pens and CD stands to umbrellas, all of course with Heineken logos. I only recommend a visit to the Heineken Experience to real beer fans.

This was an amazing experience. I thought I was an avid beer drinker until they thought us how to properly handle the glass and take a sip.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful experience in this museum where we discover the history of this beer, the evolution of these bottles and the manufacturing method. All this in a calm and sometimes festive atmosphere and added to that unexpected special effects. You can even have your personalized bottle printed. I highly recommend this experience. It's a multimedia show explaining two things: the Heineken company history and how to brew beer the Heineken way. At the end there is a taste of beer and you can purchase a customized beer with your name printed on it.

The bier tastes better here than that I've drinked anywhere. It's really fresh and full of taste. I appreciated the tour and with the ticket you have also 2 free biers in order to try it direct in the place

If you’re a beer lover and have never been to a brewery…definitely worth checking out one of the largest beer companies there is!

Awesome experience on how beer is made! You can taste beer in different stages of production. Plus they offer free boat ride if you visit the place in certain time intervals.

Very good experience with a lot of different things to do ! Very high-tech ! The price at first makes you doubt because it is a bit expensive but it includes 2 beers experiences + all the museum that is very interesting.

A very interesting and fun experience! Much to learn and very entertaining. A great way to kill 3 hours in Amsterdam

Was a fun experience however the "experience" covers a more party vibe however that is not a bad thing. Education wise you learn quite primitive about the beer making process and enough information about Heineken as a brand is given (though this is also info you can find on Wikipedia). Definitely an experience if you enjoy beer but would skip if that is not something for you!

Nice building and impressive brewery but not in use, the tour is a little bit doll. To expensive for what it is . You get two small beers included in the price of the ticket.

  • 4/5 Franco 2 years ago on Google
If you like beer, particularly Heineken, this place is definitely worth a visit. There’s many different activities you can partake in and you can learn a lot about the beer brewing process as well as Heineken’s history. There’s also free complementary beer that comes with your admission.

A wonderfully planned tour! The amount of information given is small, precise and very memorable. The tour guides do an amazing job, the interiors are beautiful, and the way the experience is paced from a regular museum through interactive games to a nice underground bar makes it feel complete and satisfying 🍻

Absolutely loved the Heineken Experience. We had a great time. The tour was really interesting and I learnt a lot about the process of making beer. We were provided with lots of samples of beer throughout which made the cost of the tour an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

The "experience" is quite fast. The first part is a museum with cool things like old bottles, labels and etc. The second part is a 4D corridor (literally an evaluator with images on the ceiling) and some rooms to overpricely entertain tourists . Anyway, the bar is very cool and good to meet people, specially if you're traveling alone :)

It is an amazing experience I can recommend it to everyone, it is a must when you visit Amsterdam. One of the best places and definitely the best beer factory I have ever visited. The beer tasted great which comes with the tour, and also the way of processing it was explained in details and the history of the Heineken and especially their way of marketing which made them phenomenal. 😊

  • 5/5 Robin M. 2 years ago on Google
I have been to plenty of breweries in my day, and this is the best one. A great experience indeed. They even have a Heineken challenge which results in free beer. Definitely a must go!

  • 5/5 Andrew 2 years ago on Google
This is a great place to have fun and experience the world of Heineken. Fun interactive museum to find out about how Heineken started and how it became what it is today. Free beer during and after the tour!

  • 3/5 Anextroo 2 years ago on Google
It’s a nice place to bring tourists especially because they market themselves very well. The copper tanks are the prettiest room and the history of the brewery is interesting. There are a few interactive places, some more exciting, some a bit pointless, like turning yourself into a beer bottle which is less fun than what it sounds. I’ve been here a couple of times with different guests and the place always changes, adding something different, however I think it’s too pricey for what we get. Also I remember in the past having a much bigger gift shop with lots of variety and cool stuff but this was reduced and it dos not stimulate an “impulsive purchase” anymore. Bottom line, visiting once to know it is ok, but not necessary to repeat (unless you have guests who really want to!)

By far, one of the best experiences when in Amsterdam. If you enjoy beer, do not miss it. If you don’t enjoy beer, go and see it. Beautiful experience with a lot of history. Real fun time.

  • 5/5 Liam G. 1 year ago on Google
This exceeded my expectations! I was expecting just a couple of free drinks and a small tour of the history. But they really made the tour fun, interspersing interactive things to do, small talks from Heineken staff, and self guided readings and videos along the way. Well worth it! I really enjoyed it.

  • 4/5 Laura A. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty fun experience for a team-building. Not sire if I spend my own money for it. The whole experience is geared towards taking pictures so you post them online and tag them. The tour is self guided so you can spend as much time as you want in each area. The beers you get are fairly small.

My wife and I visited here while in Amsterdam. The experience was amazing. A real virtual experience and rich in history. The staff were very pleasant. We received a band which will get you 2 small taster glasses of Heineken but we also got a third along the tour. Definitely one of the better brewery tours we have been on. Only 1 grip is that it would have been cool to pull your own pint but it wasn't a deal breaker. Highly recommended if you are in Amsterdam.

This place is Must visit! This is the best Museum that I visited so far. There is a lot of fun at the end of the Museum. At first you learn about the history how they made and transfer the beer and at the end you take photos, videos you can join to the games. There was a contest if you fill your glass perfect beer you get 2 glass of beer.

  • 5/5 Angelica D. 5 months ago on Google
Been seeing mixed reviews about this place, but I would say if you have the time, go for it. It was not at all bad, and you get several glasses of beer throughout the tour. The staff members were fun and entertaining. If you are a tourist, you have to visit this place at least once. In my case, it was part of my GoCity pass so I went to check the place because why the hell not!

This was a fun experience, for sure. I was able to get a reservation online. I got 2 free beers with my ticket per person. I was not able to get my own personalized beer bottle since it was at an additional cost, but that was pretty neat. It was interesting to learn how this company became and how they brewed their beer. There is a lot of history to the place. I really enjoyed my time there. I was not expecting the party at the end of the tour. Very exciting!

It was a really good experience. Very interesting to know the history behind Heineken and to learn about the beer making process. The rooftop is a must to get a really nice view of Amsterdam.

  • 4/5 Charlotte W. 4 months ago on Google
I really enjoyed the tour and experience. The staff were all super interesting, excited and informative. It really is an experience. We booked the rooftop too. The view in incredible up there. My only issue is I don't like beer so this wasn't really for me but I gave it ago and had fun. The cocktail on the rooftop was a little bit beer tasting for my liking and would have like more of the fruit flavour to come through but that's just me.

Came in without pre-booking for an afternoon, was able to join a tour/experience easily with no need to book. Make sure you queue up for your drinks tokens before joining a tour or you'll miss out on some delicious beer! The tour is exciting and well balanced between showing off, and history, definitely got more out of the experience than I thought we would. If you get tickets that include the rooftop bar then you'll also get a couple of extra tokens for the cocktail menu and a great view of Amsterdam

This place is truly an experience - a must go, when in Amsterdam. The factory is pretty cool and shows the entire history and process of the beer, and the staff is very nice and knowledgable as well. Of course you get an ice cold Heineken at the end of the tour, and it really does taste better when you're there. Say what you want about other big brand beers, but Heineken - at least in The Netherlands - still holds up nicely. Good spot for a tour.

This is one of the museum where I had most fun. It was interactive, a lot of fun checking the history of Heineken, learning how the beer is being made, trying the DJ game, singing and as well trying beer. Can't wait to visit the museum again!

The Heineken Experience! It’s a must visit place when you are in Amsterdam, a city that has a lot to share from history. I was impressed by the rich history and craftsmanship. The tour highlighted Mr. Freddy's pivotal role in shaping Heineken into an iconic brand. The detailed process—from barley storage to yeast addition and achieving that perfect golden hue—was captivating. The interactive quizzes along the way added a fun element, with chances to win small prizes. Knowledgeable guides enriched the experience, providing insights into the company's evolution and global reach. The display of original beer-making vessels showcased the authenticity of the brewery. You receive 2 buttons with each ticket that can be redeemed for free beers at the end. Additionally, the option to customize your own beer bottle is a unique and memorable souvenir.

A visit to this historic beer brewery is an absolute must while in Amsterdam. The adventure takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of beer brewing. It's a unique and remarkable experience that you definitely shouldn't miss. While I may not revisit, it certainly provides a unique experience for those visiting Amsterdam for the first time.
