Two stars but the extra star is only for the good/above average cocktails. It’s a beautiful bar, set in a magnificent former townhouse. The bottles on display are a spectacular calling card. However, we reserved anticipating that, as per their email, we would have to make ourselves known and then would have two hours allocated at a table. Upon arrival, we were not greeted by staff and had to wait 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. Once acknowledged, we had to wait at the door for another 5 minutes whilst they cleared space for us at the bar — they had not reserved a table for us despite us making a reservation. Once sat, we had to ask for a menu twice and then wait another 57 minutes for our first drinks to arrive. Half an hour into being sat, we had to ask for tap water, which is extraordinarily poor service. When the drinks eventually came, we ordered our second round which we had prepaid for when making the reservation. Unfortunately, the server then forgot what we ordered and we had to remind them, which meant another 20 minute wait. Had we not prepaid, again as per the reservation rules, we wouldn’t have stayed for our second drinks. And it’s all because of the substandard service. The excuse of Kings Day does not work because they allowed reservations and they were not at capacity for covers throughout the night. The server was apologetic but there are basics that were not adhered to — we felt abandoned because there was no interaction throughout the night, no management of expectations, and nothing on the house to compensate (we even had to ask for tap water!). The cocktails were pretty good — premium quality ingredients well-mixed with nice garnish — but not enough to save a night that was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. A real pity if this is one of the best bars in Amsterdam.

I really wanted to go to this bar but as I'm visiting Amsterdam during lockdown, delivery was my only option. Menu is small but I liked the 3 cocktails that I tried (Penicilin, Moscow Mule, Flying Dutchmen). Nice presentation, they send reusable cups and the garnish for each drink as well a small snack. Recommended and will definitely go visit them as soon as possible.

Fantastic cocktails. Especially liked their flavour compass I think this is how I chose both my cocktails and I was not disappointed. Arrived right after opening and were told there was only a table left and we were lucky, within 15 minutes the place was vibing with no space left not even on the bar.

Visited this lovely cozy cocktail house and it was really nice the bartenders were so friendly, not to forget about their wonderful cocktails that they made I recommend you try their specials. Recommended if you into cocktails 🍹 🥤

Amazing atmosphere! We have tried 6 different delicious cocktails. Even though we reserved a seat at the bar 3 weeks prior to our visit for my birthday, they let too many people in. It was too crowded that people was all the time elbowing our backs to walk in and out while we were sipping our cocktails.

Nice and creative selection of cocktails in a fun but very small space. The bar gets very crowded quickly, so just be aware.

Had a great time here. Cocktails were all very good and I appreciated the attention to the classics while still doing their own versions as well. The "Infinite Skyscraper" and "Rosita" were fantastic.

Wonderful cocktails and experience. Perfect decore and comfortable seats share the space with extremely talented bartenders who take care of your every need and can find the perfect beverage for every diner. Loved every cocktail we had, both from the menu and their twists of classics.

Very nice cocktails great ambience! I went for "here's more coffee" cocktail it had a burnt marshmallow mellow on top with a coffee on the base! It was delicious! Small cozy place!! Warm ambience!! Staff were very friendly and explained about each cocktail very nicely!! Highly recommended!

Overall we had a really nice experience on our Friday night! The atmosphere was nice and we loved our drinks. They have a really interesting and helpful menu that pinpoints on a scale how strong and sour/sweet is each drink so that you can decide what you'd like! I would suggest making a reservation as the place itself is quite small and it would be quite difficult to spontaneously find a table. Overall, would totally recommend🥂

Love this little cocktail bar right in the heart of Amsterdam. The cocktails we had were delicious and the bartender was so friendly and talked us through the various spirits. You can also request to make your own cocktail/ use alternatives for your classic favourites :)

Tiny cocktail bar. Friendly staff and they will try their best to make you happy. Was doing a little test to them and asked them to make a cocktail with only Asian ingredients. They took it seriously and did a lot of trials behind the bar and they nailed it! Amazing!

We loved this so much! The cocktail list was incredible and everything we tasted was just amazing. The bar tenders are super friendly and made us some off menu drinks that made us wish we never had to leave! The taste compass on their menu is so clever and the vibe is so intimate and classy. Will be back every time I’m in Amsterdam!

5 stars well-deserved. Great ambience, knowlegeable and experienced staff, outstanding cocktails prepared with high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend the Frisco. PS: We went on a Monday and the bar was semi-full. Potentially during the weekends the waiting time for the drinks is longer.

Great bar to enjoy a high quality cocktail. To have a relaxing night, I‘d recommend to reserve in advance. It’s always very busy and almost impossible to get a table on walk-in. Great music also.

We were recommended this bar from my brother & sister-in-law a year ago. It was just as fun as they said and the drinks were fabulous!! It is a must do in Amsterdam! The bartenders and servers have a great attitude and were happy to make suggestions and find us drinks that we would enjoy. Loved it and would frequent if we lived here!

The atmosphere of old Parisian flat with paintings on the ceiling is fantastic, indeed, the rest is not impressive. The cocktails are good but nothing particularly special. What is actually bad is the service, the waiters and barmen are overloaded - they are in a rush, not very friendly and take their time to serve drinks.

Had seen this place recommended and it didn’t disappoint. It was so small though just to bare in mind as I expected it to be bigger, but it made the atmosphere lovely, very upmarket. We sat at the bar & the staff explained the menu, they seemed super knowledgeable and very friendly, could just have a chat with them if you wanted. Waitress was topping up our water as we waited for our drinks & we had some nibbles. Drinks were FANCY so just something to bare in mind when choosing. I went for an ‘espresso martini’ style drink which was STUNNING - probably the best coffee based cocktail I’ve ever had. My partners drink was not quite so to our taste but we’re not massive cocktails people, so could still appreciate it. Was more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Other thing was everyone was queueing to get into the club which is in the same building so not sure if you have to queue or you can avoid it!

Great and inventive cocktails in a small, warm and intimate setting. Good service from staff who were super knowledgeable about their cocktails and helped us to navigate the menu options. Toilets were a bit dodgy being in the corridor and not so private, but that was a minor issue as the overall experience was good.

Very very nice cocktails, the menu and it's star guidance is very helpful. Not much space inside but very cosy and nice. I liked the interior, design and music as well. The staff was so nice that the guidance led me to very amazing choices. I would definitely go there again. Suggest to book your spot online before hand, otherwise you may wait.

Great cocktails, great vibe and good service. We arrived spontaneously and were seated immediately. We didn’t realize we’d arrived as an Italian mixologist was about to serve up his signature cocktails. They bought us the special menu after having the menu cocktails first and ordered all of them. The special guest mixologist came to us, explained his drinks and took the time to make us all feel welcome. Great vibe, great experience. Will definitely be back

Super intimate bar, a must book for cocktails! Really loved the concept of the evolution of cocktails and everything we tried we loved. Service was a little slow and we wanted to order another drink when given a 30 mins heads up that they needed our table but no waiters returned until they needed us to pay however it was a Saturday night and there was a long queue. Make sure to make a reservation at least 1/2 weeks prior to visiting

They have amazing cocktails here. And, if you want something different, they can make it for you. One of the cocktails I had, I remember to ask for a few specific things. The result was a cocktail so good that the person with me asked to have the same. The place is beautiful and the people are awesome.

Very friendly staff and a personal touch. The bar was quite small so I recommend to book in advance. Great place to start your evening with some very tasty and original cocktails.

Amazing little cocktail bar, great drinks, a cozy spot to just stop by, or spend a good amount of time tasting their selection of cocktails with someone special. Their service is great, a real care for their patrons, amenable in ways I really appreciate, we ordered a mescal margarita, and they without hesitation took it back to the bar to make it spicier, as my date wanted a little more kick to the drink, they seemed really happy to make us have a special experience. Can't wait to go back!

These guys have more bottles of booze them anywhere else I visited in Amsterdam and boy did they know how to pour em. Some of the best drinks I had while visiting Europe. Amazing friendly knowledgeable staff sexy ambience oh and they’re open til 4AM which I took full advantage of during my stay in Amsterdam. This place is truly a gem!

Phenomenal experience. I booked a class for 4 for a friends 30th birthday and we were blown away by the quality. It was immersive, educational, fun, well-managed and super friendly from the 2 ladies showing us the ropes. Will absolutely be recommending and using some of the tips and tricks we learned in the future. Thanks so much!

It's really cool for the experience and the drinks are really good. Buts it's very small and not too comfortable. I loved going and would recommend it, but its definitely more for the experience. The entire place had an awesome feel that I've never gotten from a cocktail bar before. Super Unique!

This is a wonderful spot!!!! The bartender (I believe her name is Laura) is incredible! She makes AMAZING drinks and is so kind! I believe a gentleman named Robin was working with her who was just as wonderful! This is a must-go spot while in Amsterdam. Hands down the best drinks and customer service in the whole city!
