With
guests
visiting
from
home,
we
decided
to
go
safe
with
an
Italian
Restaurant
-
how
wrong
can
you
get
Italian
food?
We
were
served
quickly
and
the
menu
was
pretty
extensive,
offering
pizza,
pasta,
tostis,
salads
and
everything
else
you
would
expect
from
an
Italian
restaurant.
The
service
was
quick
but
not
the
friendliest,
we
were
asked
gruffly
what
we
wanted
and
not
really
acknowledged
past
that.
When
we
arrived
the
restaurant
was
empty,
which
initially
hid
the
fact
that
they
didn't
have
anywhere
near
enough
menus
for
all
the
tables;
even
when
there
were
only
4
tables
full
we
were
rushed
to
order
so
that
they
could
give
our
menus
to
the
newest
guests.
As
well
as
a
lack
of
menus,
they
seemed
to
be
short
on
many
other
basic
items
on
their
menu.
We
ordered
a
gin
and
tonic
to
drink,
but
as
they
had
run
out
of
gin
we
decided
to
go
for
a
vodka
tonic
instead.
Surprisingly
we
were
actually
given
a
vodka
and
lemonade
(or
the
sweetest
tonic
in
existence),
which
was
a
glass
of
lemonade
with
far
less
than
a
full
shot
of
vodka
in
it.
Even
more
shockingly,
when
we
asked
for
ketchup
with
our
food
we
were
given
a
single
sachet
of
ketchup
while
being
told
that
it
was
the
last
ketchup
they
had...at
7
o'clock
on
a
Saturday
night.
As
for
the
quality
of
the
food,
that
too
left
a
lot
to
be
desired.
Our
group
ordered
two
pizzas,
a
cheese
pancake
and
some
fries.
The
Borromeo
(ham
and
cheese)
pizzas
should
have
been
a
safe
bet
but
they
used
so
little
cheese
that
you
could
see
the
base
in
some
areas,
and
the
cheese
they
did
use
was
more
like
styrofoam
than
cheese.
The
same
was
true
of
the
cheese
pancake,
which
was
topped
with
a
miniscule
amount
of
the
blandest,
most
tasteless
cheese
in
existence;
definitely
not
worth
the
7
euros
they
charged.
The
fries
that
we
paid
3.50
for
were
almost
certainly
the
cheapest
frozen
fries
they
could
find,
and
as
such
tasted
and
felt
more
like
plastic
than
potato.
The
only
saving
grace
for
these
fries
would
have
been
a
ton
of
ketchup,
but
the
single
sachet
they
had
left
in
their
restaurant
was
not
enough
to
save
these.
Overall,
we
would
certainly
not
recommend
this
restaurant
to
a
friend
and
would
not
visit
again.
The
price
seemed
reasonable
for
a
restaurant
in
the
middle
of
Amsterdam,
but
considering
the
quality
of
the
food
it
is
far
from
good
value
for
money.
Despite
the
extensive
menu,
you
will
likely
not
be
able
to
order
much
of
it
because
of
their
poor
stock
organisation.
To
answer
our
earlier
question,
you
can
get
Italian
food
very
wrong.
