Unfortunately
the
high
tea
was
not
as
great
as
we
had
expected.
We
called
before
hand
to
check
what
the
difference
was
between
the
regular
and
the
‘festive’
high
tea
to
clarify
why
the
second
option
was
more
expensive.
We
were
told
that
it
includes
a
glass
of
champagne.
Since
we
were
celebrating
a
birthday,
we
thought
champagne
would
be
a
nice
add
on
so
we
made
our
reservation
for
the
festive
high
tea.
When
we
arrived
we
were
placed
at
a
cute
table
but
it
took
at
least
45
minutes
before
we
were
served
our
first
bite
which
was
a
small
amuse.
Only
after
an
hour
we
were
served
the
first
‘course’.
The
tempo
stayed
like
this
throughout
the
entire
hightea.
We
spend
4
hours
which
resulted
in
us
having
to
rush
to
our
dinner
reservation.
The
sandwiches
and
scones
were
tasty,
but
nothing
spectacular.
The
sweet
treats
were
a
bit
disappointing
especially
one
little
tarte
that
tasted
as
if
it
was
accidentally
made
in
a
savoury
cheesy
crust.
Since
we
were
trying
to
make
the
best
of
it,
we
ordered
champagne
and
were
served
the
tiniest
bit
of
champagne
I
have
ever
seen.
In
between
the
different
‘courses’
it
took
ages
before
the
table
was
cleared
so
we
sat
staring
at
our
dirty
plates
at
least
have
the
time
we
were
there.
Around
us
several
other
tables
were
complaining
but
the
lady
who
seemed
to
be
the
manager
didn’t
manage
to
offer
a
sincere
apology
or
compensation.
In
conclusion:
the
high
tea
is
not
worth
it.
Even
though
we
didn’t
have
a
great
experience,
I
want
to
add
that
the
gentleman
who
served
us
in
the
beginning
of
the
afternoon
was
very
kind
and
hospitable.
I
believe
his
name
was
Anouar
(he
spoke
French
as
well
as
Dutch)
