We were greeted nicely by the host. We waited more than 20 minutes for a drink menu, and hit served 10 minutes after so in total 30 minutes waiting times for a drink. Many inquires asked towards staff weren’t addressed properly or not even replied. It wasn’t even busy. Restaurant looks very nice. Food was good however the steak was chewy and the pepper sauce tasted on anis???? Water serves with coffee was warm? Whole experience was really disappointing and I can say that this was one the least pleasant dining experiences I have ever experienced in Amsterdam. Will not come again

Feels super fancy while also feeling like a relaxing luxurious garden. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and everything was yummy. My cocktail was perfect to sip on and I tried out the fixed menu, which was catch of the day and super fresh and yummy. My wife thought the ravioli were just fantastic, especially the sauce. Highly recommend trying out Oriole, and it's not even too expensive

We ordered dessert and there was a caterpillar on the dessert. You can see in the photo. We couldn't believe it. Very big mistake. Very embarrassing for a Michelin-listed restaurant. Yes, they did give a small discount for apology. But we will definitely not go again. If you decided to go to Oriole, be careful!

Excellent! Super cute restaurant, with beautiful decoration and a nice big garden that is used as a terrace in the summer. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and well-served. I strongly recommend this place for any type of occasion.

The place is beautiful, from interior design to atmosphere, even the toilet is one of the most luxurious i have seen. The food was very good, I had the 4 course menu, which was full of flavors and textures. Price (54euro for the 4 course) is normal for the quality of food, service, and ambience. Service was attentive and polite, though the plates could come a bit faster, as we waited for some time between the courses. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I booked a table outside in the garden because of the nice weather and I really enjoyed being there. It was fully green in the garden with nice flowers and decos, the atmosphere was nice. People were friendly and helpful. The drink and food presentation were good and the taste was decent for the prices we paid. Overall it was a good experience and I would love to go back again.

Wonderful experience and best service! Amazing casual atmoshere with lots of greenery and great interior design. The food was amazing and reasonably priced but what was a standout in our experience was the service. The service was superb. My husband and i went there for a dinner for our wedding anniversary and they really made our night to be the most special. Definitely recommended!

Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam! Located in The Grand Hotel (which i wish i ended up staying in), this restaurant has a gorgeous ambiance, fantastic food, and a great, affordable chefs tasting menu. the cocktails and wine list were both amazing, the Oriole team was so friendly and attentive. really enjoyed the entire experience and i’m excited to return!

Lovely restaurant and atmosphere. This restaurant is exactly what we were looking to celebrate our wedding and honeymoon month. The 3-courses menu was delicious. The dessert was exceptional, the best white dessert I have ever tried so far! The atmosphere was chill and comfortable, with Mediterranean vibes. The plants decoration and the garden are very nice. The staff was very friendly and professional. We also loved the 'Congratulations' surprise. The only thing that I would suggest as improvement is to add the bread with butter in the price, and not to charge it as extra, as it can give a bad impression.

Came here for lunch. They offer both set and a la carte menus. The food was amazing and reasonably priced but what was a standout in our experience was the service. So so so so attentive but yet feel quite casual. The atmosphere feel tropical and bright with lots of greenery - really great interior design. Definitely worth a visit for sure!!

Unfortunately the high tea was not as great as we had expected. We called before hand to check what the difference was between the regular and the ‘festive’ high tea to clarify why the second option was more expensive. We were told that it includes a glass of champagne. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we thought champagne would be a nice add on so we made our reservation for the festive high tea. When we arrived we were placed at a cute table but it took at least 45 minutes before we were served our first bite which was a small amuse. Only after an hour we were served the first ‘course’. The tempo stayed like this throughout the entire hightea. We spend 4 hours which resulted in us having to rush to our dinner reservation. The sandwiches and scones were tasty, but nothing spectacular. The sweet treats were a bit disappointing especially one little tarte that tasted as if it was accidentally made in a savoury cheesy crust. Since we were trying to make the best of it, we ordered champagne and were served the tiniest bit of champagne I have ever seen. In between the different ‘courses’ it took ages before the table was cleared so we sat staring at our dirty plates at least have the time we were there. Around us several other tables were complaining but the lady who seemed to be the manager didn’t manage to offer a sincere apology or compensation. In conclusion: the high tea is not worth it. Even though we didn’t have a great experience, I want to add that the gentleman who served us in the beginning of the afternoon was very kind and hospitable. I believe his name was Anouar (he spoke French as well as Dutch)

Delicious Michelin gourmand. Go into the hotel to enter. The veal dish is one of the best I’ve ever had.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. Attention to detail and great service. Fries with truffle mayo and parmesan was really good, grilled seabream with white bean cassoulet and nduja also fantastic, along with a glass of chardonnay. Pity that the cheese platter portions were so tiny!

Frankly, we expected more from a restaurant with such recommendations. not a bad restaurant. But nothing special either 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was very surprised by the serving of cheeses. in the photo you can see everything without words.

It is an outdoor restaurant in a garden. It was a bit hot when we went there. We chose a menu du chef. A veal, potato salad was tasty. Beet root salad was ok. Main dishes are seabream and black chicken. There were ok but not great. We haven’t been impressed much by the food.

Great place, restaurant, location, cuisine! Dishes were great! We choose chef menu of the day, and we did great! Never thought in my life to eat Seabream with white beans in tomato souce! It was tasty and cooking white beans spicy fitted very well the dish! And the prices were ok for what are the references of this modern cuisine in an expensive city like Amsterdam!

The overall atmosphere is nice and cozy we were warmly welcomed by the waitresses, however the service was below expectations. We were asked for any allergies and intolerances and we mentioned that one person needed to eat lactose free. However all dishes for this person were served with lactose (butter, sauces etc). And we also got the question if we wanted a side dish (fries) and we said yes following the recommendations but they were never served… apart from that the food is good and well presented. Cocktails were very good but overpriced…18/19€ each..). I would not go back!

Service was perfect, all welcoming and friendly staff. Cocktails were decent, the truffle pizza really stood out along with the prawn coquettes. Would love to visit for dinner! Recommended

I really had high expectations for this place. When you navigate the split entrance with nearby Bridges amongst the Sofitel Grand Hotel, you’re immediately enamored by this tucked away secret garden ala a Springsteen Anthology. But that might be where the Michelin circle ends. The menu du chef is terribly affordable at 3 courses for 42€ and pair it with 3 wines for another 24€. Great bargain for a red circle. But then you dive into the cuisine and may be sadly a bit disheartened. My first course paired a cool monk fish with a tart green apple local wine and the taste profile were pure opposites. Now to the main dish and a skate that arrives undercooked on a black bean bed with overly residual liquid. Paired with a 2021 overly buttered Chardonnay, I was hoping for some less acidic minerality to complement but no dice. Perhaps a nice Gavi from Italy or a Pinot Blanc from Alsace in France would do sway the epicurean. The wait staff are pleasant and accommodating but there are far too many which leads to organized chaos and a 20 minute wait for a cocktail. If you’re looking for a good escape close to Centraal, this is the place. If you’re looking to be wowed by the chef, best choose somewhere else.

Had a delicious and reasonably priced tasting menu here for lunch during a month when they were serving Greek food. The lamb shoulder (pictured) and pan fried sprat were particularly memorable. The space was absolutely beautiful just inside the garden.

Loved the interior design. The service was slow but very nice. Tastewise, enjoyed the fries, cauliflower with romesco sauce. Not a fan of the cocktail, tried the rosemary negroni.

The foods are absolutely perfect, fresh and delicious, I have no complaints at all. Other than that, the environment of this restaurant is very good, the service of every waiter is very professional and friendly. Finally, this restaurant is very cost-effective, the per capita consumption (lunch) is around 35 euros, I would highly recommend this restaurant

Amazing food! Came for dinner with friends. We chose the Oriole-Express including wine pairing. This month Oriole served the Italian menu. Rémy really performed a show while explaining the wines which caused us to enjoy the evening even more. The whole experience from start to finish was top-notch 🤩 Waitresses and waiters were all so friendly and kind. The food couldn’t get better 🤤 A beautiful spot to enjoy a delicious dinner 🌿
