It was a lovely, warm, sunny day in Amsterdam and we wanted to spend it in the park. This small restraint in Vondelpark looked very inviting. The were many places to sit outside and we thought we were so lucky to have a relatively empty outdoor cafe on such a sunny day. However, our nice day soon turned quite unpleasant. We were three and ordered a simple lunch except one of us who ordered a burger. We got a whopping bill of 80 euro! We paid but felt a bit skeptical… and then when we checked the bill, they had charged us for three burgers! And when we asked to be refunded, the nonchalant staff said that they couldn’t do anything about it!! The guy who had actually made the mistake just ran out the back door! Another woman who was there sulked and talked so rudely. Finally one nice guy gave us a slip and said we had to e mail the boss to get our money back. But why? Why couldn’t they just put it back on our card? Or give us the cash back for the burgers we never ate??? I don’t understand why we must suffer for such inefficient staff…. And to top it all, the food was pretty average . Finally we left after they gave us a slip that said that they owed us two burgers ans we can come and get them another day. It’s just seemed like the least effort full thing to do…overall I’m quite disappointed

Tons of outdoor seating space and the best public restroom in all of Amsterdam. Decent amount of lunch options with both coffee and beer served. There is a variety of outdoor seating areas: some shaded, some in the sun, some in bar stools, some with benches. Overall it is an impressive amount of outdoor space. It's also conveniently attached to a playground so very easy for families with children.

This is such an amazing park! Reminds me of Central Park in NYC. It was sunny out when I visited. There were many people out with friends, family, on dates and even with their dogs off-leash. If you’re looking for a private place for an intimate afternoon, don’t worry you won’t have to search far to find a nice quiet spot in the park to enjoy a nice afternoon.

3 star rating based on the food Food: I had pancakes and my boyfriend had a toastie- both satisfying, (but not mouth watering 5 stars). Other times I've visited, I have had standard snacks and coffee that were nice, but keep in mind you come here more for the vibes than the food I suspect. They offer bar snack type food that are perfect for socialising (I suggest the bitterballen sweet potato fries). Space: A great place to meet friends and colleagues as they have a really nice open outdoor space. I haven't seen the indoor area opened for dining (I have only visited during COVID period) however there's umbrellas and trees that provide decent cover even when raining (very important given this Dutch summer we're having). Location: perfect meeting spot, right on the edge of Vondelpark, with an adjoining kids playground so the kids can run around while you enjoy a coffee and a bite.

Great location for having a coffee or light food while the kids run around the playground besides it. Usually drinks and food comes out within minutes, but sometimes they do suddenly get very busy and then it can take a bit.

A very nice choice for those days with nice weather, it provides a vacation/holiday mood. inside one of the most important parks in the city. It counts with a bar and also food if you’re feeling a bit hungry. For more experiences like this follow @quiquinnv

The place is nice, the setting is convenient, cozy in the summer but I would advise not to eat here. The quality of food was horrible and ridiculously overpriced, you could find better quality in a doner kebab place, that’s how bad it was!

Nice selection of food and drinks - burgers, pasta, tosti, fries and the typical borrel selection. There is also icecream amd a playground for the kids. Service is fast, bathrooms are clean.

We had a lovely group lunch at Vondeltuin. It was raining outdoors, so the staff very kindly set our group for dining indoors on very short notice. The set menu did not disappoint and was enjoyed by everyone. We especially enjoyed how beautifully presented it was. Definitely will go back with friends and family in the future and hope to be able to enjoy the outdoor terrace in the sunshine!

Possibly the best outdoor cafe space in Amsterdam. Complete renovation in 2020. Simply delightful on a nice weather day. Self service... which we like, so we don't have to rely on poor dutch table service. Great coffee. Great food.

After walking around in Vondelpark with our dog, my girlfriend and I decided to get something to eat, and the first place we saw was this one. It was really busy so we had to find a table, but after that we were seating outside enjoying the day. I went to order and pay at the register and went back to our spot. We ordered burgers and fries. The food was okay, fries were good and the burger was okay, nothing to die for, but the space and the vibe, the fact that we were able to have a meal with the company of our dog made it worth 4 stars. I would definitely recommend

Stopped here for a coffee on the way through Vondelpark, great little place to sit out in when the sun is shining. I had a flat white and have to say it really was a fantastic coffee. Service was decent. They don't take cash though - card only. Happily recommend it.

Good coffee and garden when the sun is out there. Next to kindergarten so expect some noise 😅

I like it here because good mood. And servers were so kind, helpful and looks like they are in a happy mood. But Goat cheese Ravioli plate feels a bit too much like it comes from the supermarket.. Still great place to relax, enjoy a drink on the edge of the park. I recommend drinks and fries

Food is ok (nachos). I like that is self service at the cashier (less waiting time for a waiter). The environment is the dey differentiator here.

Love this place are the back entrance of Vondelpark. They have very good coffee and always something sweet to go with it. The garden is quite nice hidden from winds so that you can sit there also when the weather is not so nice. Also, if you just want a drink to go while taking a walk in the park - that's the best place. They serve dairy free alternatives such as oat or almond milk.

This cosy restaurant at the main entrance of the Vondelpark (Amstelveenseweg) in Amsterdam has an accessible toilet, very friendly staff, great food and an awesome terrace. The lights and decorations make you feel as if you are on holiday. They just opened a cocktail bar too!

We had an amazing breakfast here. The staff is nice, the food is fancy as well as really tasty. The place is next to a quite walking park so its a nice place to sit down. UPDATE : Moshi, the mouse in the pictures was accidentally left behind during our trip and just realized that after days coming back to Germany. We contacted the saff and they are kind enough to send Moshi to us via courier... So glad for the kindness as Moshi is something important for us.
