One of the greatest architectural attractions to see in Netherlands. It really impressive to see something so progressive in the pretty conservative neighborhood. You should pay attention to working hours and book tickets in advance because they have a tight schedule with groups and short working hours. Tickets can also be bought next door. People working there are kind are ready to explain everything. There is a nice coffee shop on the right and paid street parking is in front of the property. Definitely worth a visit.

I went to architecture school in the 1990s, and we learned about this historic design. It was absolutely amazing to see and experience it in person! It's particularly notable for how modern and innovative it was for the time. It is not big at all, but the design has big ideas! We were fortunate, because there was a special exhibit at the local museum covering the architect as well as this project, So we got advance prep before actually touring the house. I recommend leaving plenty of time to stroll around the neighborhood and to enjoy the exterior views of the house.

When I went it was closed for King's Day. But it is small and easy to walk around. Surprisingly excellent condition for being 100 years old. The admission ticket is crazy expensive at €19 so I likely would have skipped the inside tour even if it had been open. What were Utrecht officials thinking when they built that expressway across the street!?!?

Although relatively small, this is a house full of history and rather unusual architectonic features (de Stijl). I'd reserve at least about 1 hour to visit it and listen to the whole audio tour (options incl.). The Dutch Museum card will grant you a substantial discount but not a fully free entrance. Street parking nearby.

Book your tickets as early as possible, esp for weekend & summer. Since this was an actual functional house (till 1985), obviously there can only certain number of people can be in it at any given point of time. So tickets with time-slots has to be booked prior. Only 28 tickets are available everyday and only 2 visitors are let inside every 15 minutes.

Must see for every furniture and architecture enthousiast. The guides are very friendly and share their knowledge. Free audio tour and we even got a full demonstration of the moving wall panels. Rietveld made a masterpiece in 1923-24.

Great museum in quiet nice area. All people worry here are very polite. Visit with museum card is free, but you have to make an appointment in advance on the website. You can take photo and watch a movie. They maintain the condition of the furniture well and demonstrate how all the objects perform their function. In addition, they give an audio guide for free. There are many people on weekend. I don’t like they have book only on Dutch.

Although I had studied the house in books the visit was extremely surprising! The spatial and material qualities of the house can be fully appreciated only when inside it and they display the transformation of the upper floorW. Very nice small museum, well organized and explained, a must for any architect or architecture student.

Amazing house from 1924. The entrance is free if you have a museum card, if not you'll have to pay around 14 euros, which are totally worth it. I hope you can get the demonstration on the 'day' and 'night' house arrangement. Try to make an appointment online. The house is amazing and super beautiful

Very fascinating house that I highly recommend visiting while in Utrecht. You need to book the tours online and they get sold out quickly, so I recommend planning ahead if you are only in Utrecht for a day or two. The house is a bit outside the city center, but still easily accessible.

My father had a model of this house sitting on his desk for 25 years and I finally got to see it in person. Definitely worth visiting. Building this house in 1924 must have been mind blowing to the builder and the neighbors! Book tickets in advance!

(Translated by Google) Nice building, nice design, nice monument. World Heritage. Walk past it and view the beautiful details that Rietveld has designed. Also take a moment to look at the other side of the viaduct. There is another design by him at Erasmuslaan (50 meters as the crow flies). And if you're there anyway: walk on to number 122. There is a villa designed by Ravenstein. Also a monument with unique details. (Original) Mooi gebouw, mooi ontwerp, mooi monument. Werelderfgoed.

Partitions and ladders are movable so that the rooms have multiple configurations. Ver pioneering though practicality is doubtable. Remember to make a reservation online and they close pretty early at 3pm so don’t be late.

An unmistakable icon of 20th century modern architecture, Gerrit Rietveld’s Schröder house is a must - see for anyone interested in art and architecture. It’s well worthwhile the trip to the pretty historic city of Utrecht. The house with all of it’s furnishings, windows, shutters, cupboards, sliding doors and carpets has been kept in wonderful condition. Remember to book in advance (at least one day before) to visit the inside, as it’s a very tiny place and the available visit times are limited.

The house is a must see. You probably have never seen a house like this; inside nor outside. They’ll give you a free audio guide. This way you can follow the route from downstairs till upstairs. Following the audio tour, the route only takes you about 30-40 minutes. Don’t forget to ask if they can show you the sliding walls upstairs. This makes the experience a lot more interesting. Right next to the house, you’ll soms the old garage. This has been transformed into a coffee cafe. I would definitely recommend to get a coffee and a snack :)

(Translated by Google) You can't believe your eyes here. Each space has special features. The use of color inside is surprising. You might expect to see a lot of white and primary colors, but that is not the case. The upper floor is brilliant because of the sliding doors and therefore flexible space. In short: very inspiring (Original) Je kijkt je ogen uit hier. Elke ruimte heeft bijzonderheden. Verrassend is het kleurgebruik binnen. This is a well preserved first home designed by the architect Rietveld on the outskirts of Utrecht. The design is still innovative today. For architecture enthusiasts, make sure you put this on your itinerary! It's a 25 minute walk from the old city via the interesting neighbourhood called Wilhelmina Park.

Most famous architects design large buildings. This is a 'just' a house, but extraordinary. Frank Lloyd Wright was another architect who designed mostly homes although as I write this I am sitting outside his Guggenheim museum in New York. The R S house was last week.

(Translated by Google) A great experience in this jewel of De Stijl architecture. Even if the price of the entrance would seem a little high, it is worth visiting the interior of the house. Unlike other examples of architecture from the same period, such as the Villa Savoye in Poissy, this work is very well preserved. There is even an interactive audio guide. The house is a beautiful example of early 20th century architecture. The audio guide gives you enough interesting information. Fortunately the house can be visited only on appointment, which makes the number of people in a single visit low enough to enjoy the narrow spaces of the house. Nevertheless I found the visit very fast and the "guide" very pushy, which didn't give us time to fully enjoy the atmosphere and to take some good pictures of the empty environments, therefore not giving us the chance to keep some good visual memories of this otherwise excellent experience. To prevent such unpleasant adventures, I advise to prolong the visits to 1h and 30m.
