This boutique hotel is fantastic. We arrived very late, around midnight, on a cold icy day and were promptly assisted by the reception staff. Despite the late hour and weather, they provided valuable tips for exploring the area. Advised to take a taxi to the Red Light district, we found the hotel stunning, offering numerous photo-worthy spots in the reception, bar, and breakfast areas. The staff kindly took group photos as we celebrated a friend's birthday. Our room was charming with all necessary amenities, and having a coffee machine was a welcomed touch. Although the overall experience was excellent, the only drawback was the lack of guidance during breakfast. We weren't informed about options or the possibility to request food from the kitchen. Waking up late, we found limited warm food available. Despite this, our stay was enjoyable, and we'll be more prepared if we visit again.

The staff are friendly however the rooms are small, no wardrobe, ironing facilities or door to the bathroom (there is a door to the toilet). The in room air conditioning is like sleeping in a loud wind tunnel, even on low setting and the room gets very hot without it, so be prepared for dry eyes and poor sleep because of the noise. We asked to book in the restaurant and were told that someone would call to confirm (or not - which was fine), but no one called at all. We asked about late checkout which the hotel app offered only to be told it was not available - on Sundays apparently. All in all a very disappointing experience given the premium price. We were unfortunate to stay when there was a concert right outside (no prior warning) and access to the hotel was a nightmare trying to weave through very rude and threatening Dutch people. The noise of people clearing up and smashing bottles late at night was loud in the room. The hotel location is described as a quiet spot - it really is not that at all! I might come back to Amsterdam, despite the unfriendly people we encountered (you get them everywhere) but I would never recommend or return to this particular hotel. Misleading description, very small room, no late checkout and staff that don’t bother to call you when they say they will. Overall, very disappointing.

Hotel is nice but service and amenities are lacking at the price point. For reference I paid 450/night and other people in our group paid around 300/night. Service is inconsistent and depends on who is on duty. People are generally more accommodating during the day. If you call the front desk from the room no one answers. Our requests were mostly light not working, new towels, etc. i will say service improved tremendously towards the end of our stay. Rooms in the main building are small. The annex rooms are more spacious but no closet space. Annex rooms feel less safe though due to the street access.

Great location, everything worth visiting was within walking distance. The decor is quite nice, with a cute breakfast available for a small extra charge. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay great. They were really kind. The room were great. Super comfortable bed, great shower, great sink. Only problem was the dim lighting inside the toilet room.

Just absolutely fantastic. Stayed a couple of nights here for a friends wedding, the room was clean and lovely, staff were kind and helpful and it was in a great location. Only downside was at the time they were short staffed and the lovely bar was not open for the days we stayed. Very quirky place, fantastic decor and great staff. Perfect.

Stayed in a fair few European boutique hotels and they always have compromises, but this one seemed to have more. The good: location is great. A little quieter over this side of town, but a short walk to anything you need to get to. We didn’t request much service, but I didn’t get the impression we would have issues. We opted out of the provided breakfast in favor of exploring what the nearby community had to offer, plenty to be had. Our room was an interior room. Odd layout, no way to get natural light in that I could find. There are shades in the top bit of the wall that look out to the open area, but they do not seem to open. Shower door does not contain the water, especially with the shower head so close to the door so the sink area easily floods. Lighting is a challenge. Switches took some finding for some of the fixtures. Overall, it’s fine but I’m sure for the money a better setup could be had.

Perfect hotel stay, we loved that it had a beautiful luxury feel and warm character and this will be our base anytime we visit Amsterdam from now on. It exceeded expectations with similar vibes to the Hoxton but a more approachable price point. The smaller room didn’t bother us, we did our research and it was perfectly appointed - we loved the details and fine luxury finishes like the Marshall speaker. Generous shower size, very comfortable bed, beautiful lobby, friendly staff, fabulous location, chic decor. Super close to the Westermarkt tram stop and beautiful walking districts of the nine streets and Jordaan. What’s not to love?!

Stayed at Le Mercier for one night. The hotel was beautifully decorated and felt luxurious, safe, and quiet/calm. The rooms were clean and well equipped with all that we needed during our time there. The hotel was in a great location too; it was close to the tram, the Anne Frank House and Museum, and close to cafes and other eateries. We didn’t eat at the bar/ restaurant but the staff were friendly. Would definitely stay at this spot again when we’re back in Amsterdam.

We recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at hotel Mercier, that left us utterly dissatisfied and regretful. As if the small and dirty rooms weren't enough, the hotel management seemed to think that overpowering guests with a strong air freshener would solve all their problems. It was clear that the hotel was attempting to mask underlying odors rather than addressing the root cause. I must emphasize that no amount of air freshener can compensate for the lack of cleanliness and the cramped conditions of the rooms. The small, dirty rooms coupled with the overpowering air freshener made for an unpleasant experience.

Get welcomed with arrogant staff. Chef forgets your requests repeatedly. Below average service. No room cleaning happening daily for no reason. We requested packed breakfast on last day for which we got 2 apples in hand. Overall would not recommend this hotel. Unnecessarily pricey.

We had a medical problem in the family the day before the trip. Although we knew there was no free cancellation, we explained the situation and they made no effort to accommodate and be empathetic to the situation. They could easily fully or partially reimburse us, since they could resell these daily accommodations. Furthermore, when we tried to notify them by phone the day before, someone answered the phone and hung up on us a few times.

This hotel was so quaint and wonderful. We loved our room! It had just the right amount of space for 2 of us. The staff was fantastic! They went out of their way numerous times to accommodate us. Everything we need or wanted to do is within walking distance. We were sad to leave it. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Amsterdam.

Amsterdam was the first city I went to my first time in Europe. I did not know what to expect, and when I arrived at this hotel, the hotel workers were patient enough to explain things about the city, offered me water, and held onto my luggage while I toured because I arrived before the room was ready. The view from the room I had was peaceful, it was right next to a garden, and the room was soundproof, and the curtains were blackout curtains which was an excellent detail because of the time difference from traveling overseas. This hotel offers breakfast. It was the best-included hotel breakfast I have ever had. The chef was there to make whatever breakfast food you wanted, and everything from the fruit to the bread tasted fresh. This hotel has a bar area that is beautiful as well. Also, the location of this hotel is excellent. It is close to a metro station and a lot of shops. It is walking distance from many touristic places like the plaza.

This place was perfect. Great staff who answered all our questions and helped us with a booking error when we checked in, great location and very comfortable rooms. Have recommended and will definitely go back next time I’m in Amsterdam.

Great location, loved my room how you could just walk out through a park. Super secure at night and what a great location. So many pubs, shopping and restaurants near by.

Location is good, room okay, breakfast below average, service horrible. Stayed for three nights. I ordered the same thing for breakfast for all days, but some ingredients were missing all the time. Requested takeaway breakfast on the last day, it was confirmed by the receptionist at night but it wasn't ready in the morning. Overall not worth paying the high price. Disappointed with service.

A rather disappointing experience. Hotel's common areas are stunning, they did a great update work. Rooms in the newer annex building by the garden are Ok+. Location is great although pricey and overly commercial. However, beware: 1/ our room was not cleaned daily (skipped for no reason) 2/ pricing fluctuations are enormous 3/ management committed to connect with us after other issues we had .. it's been more than a week already and nothing happened.

The location was the best in Amsterdam walking distance to everything and in a very trendy and upcoming area, with delicious eateries, Anne Frank Huis on your doorstep as well as the most picturesque canals and buildings in town. Service was what was expected but the people at the desk were very kind, helpful and gave great help for people touring. The rooms were boutique, wonderful and top class they were just a wonder, comfy, spacious and beautiful from the decorative beds to the luxury wallpaper and tiles in the bathroom. The only issue was a massive room kerfuffle we had, we're a family and we called seeing if they had interconnecting rooms and we received the reply no, so we asked if they could be near each other, they replied saying they were next to each other. We arrived and it turns out they at different ends of the corridor and on totally different levels. As well as the fact 1 of the rooms had a door inside it, we asked reception and they kindly said yes, its a interconnecting room but you need a key for the other room to get into the connecting room. We still felt unsafe but switched rooms the next night so our 2 rooms were interconnecting rooms. They were great interconnecting rooms. Luckily, we received free breakfast and discounts. Overall one of the best hotels in Amsterdam.

Perfect location for a city break. When I checked in, the two girls on reception were so helpful and lovely offering ideas of things to do to make the most of our stay. We did however have a couple of awkward encounters with other staff questioning if we were staying in the hotel and also telling us we were not allowed to look at the bar/breakfast area when we returned late one night. Our room was not in the main part of the hotel but in an outside courtyard. I would have liked to stay in the hotel itself ideally but our room was very comfortable and very very quiet, despite nearby king’s day celebrations (we didn’t hear a thing). The en-suite toilet was the darkest bathroom I’ve ever seen, interesting design decision but a bit strange to use the loo in the dark. Breakfast was great with a selection of buffet style and food cooked to order. The chef was great at handling my friend’s gluten allergy and she felt spoiled for choice. I would definitely stay here again

Great hotel and in fantastic neighbourhood Sadly room cleanliness is a bit of downside, we had informed the staff that we saw visible stains and they said someone will come but during our 3 day stay the stains remained. Other than that it was great, staff is professional Great reataurant that has gluten free options

The location of the Hotel is perfect, very nice area and less busy in terms of tourists. The staff is very welcoming and available. Overall the design of the establishment is unique and beautiful. Very comfortable and clean rooms and great breakfast area. Absolutely will be back! :)

Wonderful ambience in this hotel in an ideal location in Amsterdam centre near the Anne Frank house. We had breakfast in the serene dining room - cold meats, smoked salmon, cheeses, delicious breads, hot croissants (!), salad, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon - what a choice! And there is also cook-to-order pancakes and eggs benedict available. All of course with strong coffee or good tea brands and juices. A jewel in the city centre not to be missed. Easily 10/10. Thank you Mercier!

We made the right choice! Everything from start to finish was perfect. Reception were really helpful on arrival.. We were early so they allowed us to leave our luggage while the room was ready. You are right on one of the canals that makes up the 9 streets in the Jordaan area... A great location. Very close to the Ann Frank museum and 2 mins from a tram stop Our room had a wall of beautiful windows overlooking the street and Amsterdam roof tops... Open plan into the bathroom with a toilet on one side and the shower on the other and the sink on show in the centre. It also had a heated floor in that area. The bed was extra large and very comfy with big soft pillows, a good night's sleep as it was very quiet during the night. We had a coffee machine and kettle to make hot drinks and a complimentary bottle of water on arrival. The room had a thermostat so you have control over how warm the room is, perfect if you like it cooler at night Downstairs there is a really nice bar and restaurant... We didn't eat here but did enjoy a cocktail Our stay here was perfect couldn't have asked for more

Such a cute and lovely hotel in the BEST location. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. My only quibble is that there wasn't anywhere to unpack clothes or items so it was a little hard to feel settled if you're staying more than a couple of nights. But the location truly can't be beat!

Great hotel, though a bit expensive for the overall experience. Has a lovely service and looks stunning. Rooms are clean, bathroom is tiny. Breakfast could be a bit more extensive and of higher quality (fresh orange juice might be an idea) for the price. Location is the best, room is really very quiet although you stay in the heart of Amsterdam within a minute walk of tourist must sees like Anne Franks House.

Really lovely and a perfect spot to stay while in Amsterdam. Hosts were delightful and had me wishing I was staying for longer than I was. ❤️ Quiet, easy, close to all the things - also unique with a great bar downstairs.

We stayed in the bridal suite of the hotel for 4 nights. The room is very large and feels very luxurious, however was not as clean as you would expect it to be - the walls had stains and some weird chunks of dirt, and from the shower you would sometimes smell sewerage from the drainage. Another con was that there was no minibar in the room. I usually use the minibar to refrigerate things like cheeses and wine, so this was some minus for me. The bed and pillows were superb, the most comfortable I have had in Europe. Great shower and hot tub as well, with a nice underfloor heating near the hot tub. The hotel even provided us with bath salts. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the lobby is beautiful and was always having free water and even candies. If not the cleanliness issues I’ve mentioned earlier, I would have ranked it 5.

This property is top notch! GREAT location!!! We had six adults in our family holiday, and three sleeping rooms. All rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. The staff was attentive and made great recommendations.

Hotel is well situated, close to places of interest but at a distance where you can retreat. The hotel is welcoming and well appointed. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The bar is well stocked, comfortable and nicely decorated. The restaurant has a simple menu of good food which was well presented and prepared. The room was small and windowless, being a pod variety built in the middle of a landing. Check which kind of room you're going to get, because if you like natural light, these are not ideal. The room itself was well appointed, although the twin beds pushed together did not make a double and were made up as singles. Not ideal. The lighting in the room is very dim, which doesn't work at all in the absence if natural light. The small shower room was well appointed, but the shower tray leaked onto the floor outside it, so again not ideal. Would possibly stay again, but not in one of these rooms.

Wonderful hotel. We got upgraded to the Bridal Suite for free! The room was amazing, great decor/lighting, comfortable bed and a large standalone bath. Staff were very friendly and gave us great advice for where to go. Would highly recommend 👍

Book to this hotel through Chase rewards with points. I’m sure it would be pricey if booked the typical way. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and really enjoyed it. Friendly front desk staff that will book a cab for you. If you book a cab give plenty of extra time, we booked a cabin and came 30 minutes late.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why.
