We stayed here for 2 nights. A very nice hotel. It’s in a great location, on a quiet street near by the central railway station - about a 5 min walk. It’s surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops. All of Amsterdam's sights are within walking distance. The hotel is very clean. The rooms were normal, perfect for a short trip.Beds were very comfortable . The bathroom is clean and equipped with all comforts and accessories, towels are changed daily. Good Wi-Fi. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. No issues at all. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again if we plan on visiting Amsterdam again!

Quick and easy check in/out process. Stored our luggage for free after checkout which was so helpful. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Fantastic location and rooms were very quiet considering how central you are. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again - thank you!

This hotel is a good hotel for a short holiday in Amsterdam, it is in a great location in the city (right beside Central Station). We stayed in a double room with a window overlooking the street, as a result it was quite noisy at night time. The room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned to some degree each day. The cleaners forgot the towels once, the room was always tidy but the bed sheets and cups were not always replaced. All in all, any problems we had were fixed immediately by the reception staff. Very friendly. We could also store luggage for free on our last day after checking out.

I don't know where to start... 1) The hotel smells extremely bad in the entrance area. It smells very musty and old. 2) Fortunately, our room was not mouldy, but all the corners on the ceiling and floor were not cleaned, so the dirt collected there. The bathroom and shower were clean. 3) There is a "no drugs, no weed" sign in the hotel. Well... Either it is consumed in front of the hotel or out of the window. The windowsill was full of ashes and in the evening people smoked from the rooms. 4) It is extremely loud in the hotel at night, between 2am and 5am there were people shouting loudly through the corridors every day and in the evening/morning it smelled extremely of grass ... Some of the guests' rubbish is lying around in the corridors. 5) I would not necessarily recommend the hotel, as other reviews do not speak in favour of the hotel either. 6) However, I would like to add that the staff present at the time were nice.

Not a good hotel, location is good yes but not worth it considering all the noise in the area. Inside the hotel and in the rooms everything is dirty and filled with mold and humidity, you can literally smell it, so we got sick from just staying for 2 days. They gave us and “upgrade” after we complained, but it was still not good. Definitely don’t stay here!!

Wonderful stay here! Staff were so pleasant and helpful. Very close to everything around. Perfect location. Few wild areas around the corner. Nice quite bar next door and coffee shop too! Rooms were very spacious and the big shower head was great. Can barely hear the noise at night when sleeping.

During my short stay (1 night) I couldn't experience too much but what I had is fine. My single room was just enough for a 1-2 night visit. The size was small but fine if you stay for 1-2 nights only. Staff are friendly, the breakfast room is simple but nice. I liked the huge chandelier there. The biggest problem I saw and it is difficult for those who arrive with a heavy luggage, that to reach the rooms you have to go up and down on several steep stairs on same the building floor. Certainly there is a lift but only between floors.

Great location, central and easy to get everywhere. Was surprised to find the Red Light district just around the corner. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

I’ve just checked out from a 4 night stay at the XO Hotel city centre in Amsterdam and I can say it’s one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. . My room was situated at the very top of the building and upon arrival I was told that the lifts are broken. This meant I had to walk up 4 floors to my room with luggage and then every day. Surely this information should have been told to us before booking and if I was a recent thing. Which it didn’t seem to look like. We would have been told this in advance of the stay so we can seek other hotels. . The main problem with having to walk up 4 floors everyday multiple times is that the key cards never worked. EVERY day on multiple occasions I would have to walk all the way up to the room only to find out the key cards do not work. So had to walk back down and up. This happened every time I left and came back so sometimes 3 times per day I was getting to my door to then have to walk back down and up again with a new key card. ( The cards were kept well away from my phone.) This as you can imagine was VERY frustrating as this happened every day. Multiple times. . The room itself was ok. But the bed sheets smelt especially the pillows so I would guess they were not changed from the previous customer. . My room was not cleaned after the first night . The Towel in the bathroom had a big clump of hair in it when I went to go use it. Which is disgusting. ( see picture ) . The hair dryer is held together by celotape and it gave me an electric shock. This is totally unacceptable. ( see pic ) . The worst thing of the whole stay was the noise at night in the room. There was a loud and constant ticking / dripping / popping noise all through the night which made it impossible to sleep. ( see video below ). Even with ear plugs in this noise was relentless. I complained and asked to move rooms after the first night but nothing was free and they just say nothing we can do about it. It was not the air con unit but something in the ceiling or walls. This noise was non stop all night long and this was every night of the week. This along with constantly having to walk up and down stairs with faulty key cards has left me extremely exhausted and drained and actually sick from lack of sleep. A hotel stay should be relaxing and refreshing. This was torture. I travel for work and in hotels a lot and although I can appreciate somethings may not be up to standards this was a cluster of multiple bad experiences...

Stayed here for two nights. Great location. However the staff are not very helpful and look like they don’t want to be there. For more than 24 hours, there was no hot water whatsoever. So we had to have freezing cold showers. Nobody advised us upon check in. I tried calling reception multiple times throughout the stay, however their phones don’t ring. I had to go down and advise them myself. I asked what was being offered and got fobbed off. We never received any compensation or partial refund for this inconvenience (let alone any communications regarding it). I was, through my own fault, running 15 past check out time as I was lagging my suitcases down the stairs (there is a lift, but do be prepared for stairs regardless). I apologised for my later check out and the lady serving laughed in my face and made a sarcastic comment about being “15 minutes late”. There was one Asian man who was helpful and friendly from the staff during our stay, hence the 2 stars. If you just want a bed to rest your head in a key location, this place is fine. But don’t expect anything more.

Room smells like a sewer leak occurred recently. There is a suspicious stain on the ceiling like the issue was not resolved completely. The carpet is filthy. Good side room is spacious and it is tight next to the train station and cruise port. Prices were almost double because it was Pride Week (didn’t know that. Occurs last weekend in July through 1st weekend in August) I traveled for a cruise. Had I known I would have stayed in a neighborhood away from the city. Staff is friendly.

Had to jump hotels during my trip in Amsterdam. Definitely an upgrade from the last hotel. Beautiful hotel, very Dutch. Friendly atmosphere and staff. The hotel is located at the heart of the city so it's very easy to go from one place to another and still stay near the hotel. Would come back again

Wild area, but if that's what you're looking for it's great. Also it stays quiet enough at night if you're not going out. Cool room with a nice window. Shower is hard to open and close without spilling water

Nice location that is dead centre and close to everything. The rooms are all with carpet and the actual rooms stink of feet. Breakfast is 15€ a person m, not worth it in my opinion the quality is a bit low for that price. Overall good place to stay if u wanna be close to red light and centre

Building is quite old. Not recommend for family with small kids. You have to carry the stroller(buggy) in hands. There are few steps you have to climb even if you use lift. Front office Staff was very helpful though. But staff in the kitchen was a bit rude when we were trying to take hot water for the baby milk.

Terrible. While it is in the city centre ( its biggest advantage) it is close to a church whose bells toll every 15 minutes from 8 in the morning to 10 in the evening. The photos of the room in the website do not show the truth. The room is tiny with two beds stuck in the wall. Absolutely difficult to move inside. No refrigerator. The windows won't open. No chance of fresh air coming into the room which by the way like the whole hotel smells of mold. What can I say about the bathroom. You try to clean yourself and you are trying for the towel not to touch the toilet or you the dirty wall. They don't change the sheets every day just make the bed with the old ones and they don't provide new shampoos just refill the old ones with water. The walls are dirty with dust and the carpet has stains .Terrible experience. On the bright side we found no roaches maybe because not even them can live there.

DO NOT STAY HERE if I could give 0 stars I would. A catastrophy of issues. First room we checked in there was building works happening in the morning, not a major issue but it appears the builders were using our room as a toilet. When the room was locked, they tried the door a few times then proceeded to wee in bottles and leave them lined up outside our room, then the shower flooded. We were moved rooms then the air conditioning unit leaked all over our baggage. In the evening, there were a group of men making prostitution deals in the foyer and all we could here in our rooms were the relations around us and men calling out "who's next". I get it is the red light district but we didn't expect it in our room! We left the hotel and booked somewhere else. No offer of compensation. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed in a room for two people. The room was so small that it only had space for the beds and a small corridor that barely fitted one person. The same problem with space occurred with the bathroom as well, the sink was almost on top of the toilet and the shower had little to no space. The room service was ridiculous, all the days we stayed the beds were poorly made by barely covering the bed with the blanket so as to seem ok. The floor was never cleaned and the vials given by the hotel for the shower instead of being replaced were filled with cold water as to seem full. And to top it all off, even though the hotel is at the CENTER of Amsterdam there is a church nearby that rings its bells every 15 minutes every day from 8 in the morning until 11 at night making it impossible to sleep during the day. In my opinion if you want to stay in the center of Amsterdam and you have limited options either go for a pricier one than this hotel or literally sleep on a bench it will make little difference.

It was a good hotel. Staff was nice and helpful. It was relatively clean and big enough room. The only issue was how noisy it was. Thought someone came into our room every time the doors next to us opened or closed. Could also hear the noise from the street very well but the location and how central it was made it worth it!

  • 3/5 Victória P. 10 months ago on Google
The hotel is very well located and the staff are friendly. But the bathroom cleaning was not well done. In addition, in the rooms on the lower floors you can feel the smell/climate of humidity. Comfortable beds.

The reception service at the hotel is really good and there is value for money, the point is that the hotel is at a medium level of maintenance, it seems as if maintenance has not been taken care of in this hotel since the 90s.... There was a mouse in the corridor of the 1st floor, when we informed them the impression we got was that it was a routine thing...

Was given a keycard to a room with people already in it. Got given another room with broken heating and drains that were blocked. Besides from these issues which I’m sure they’ll be happy to fix, they provided good service and a great location to make up for it.

The location is very nice and it is easily accessible. I didn't like the room entirely because my bed was against a window with a long curtain that hid a protruding marble window ledge. Going to bed I would start to lay my head down and WHAM! hit my head against hard marble and be in great pain right before trying to sleep. If you get that bed, move it 2+ feet from the window.

I have to put one star cause that the lowest I can give. Nice hotel and very central, but the service at reception is bad verging on blatantly rude. Asked for an extra pillow, before I left to visit, which was told is not possible but they will check. When got back in asked if there was an update on that said no as I told you and the answer will not change... while the male employee shrugging his shoulders and making a face... Very bizarre... In the meantime the bathroom is full mold.... Bleach cleaning would clear that.

We stayed for 4 nights: great position, excellent room, very spacious, clean and quiet, but the real treasure of the hotel was the amazing receptionist Kani. Every evening he helped us with his knowledge, kindness and patience in any choice or practical issue. The very best we found! We highly recommend this hotel!

I expected more from an hotel belonging to the XO chain and placed in the centre of Amsterdam. The structure was very small and sometimes I found uncomfortable to move between hotel spaces (I am skinny and short, so my size is definitely not an issue). People and kind. Breakfast is not as good as in other XO hotels, but this has only 3 stars, so maybe it is okay.

It's a good hotel in a strategic location. The price is fair for this double bed room (74€/night). I wish they had comfier pillows (personal opinion), i think some might not mind it. A great hotel to stay during your stay in Amsterdam. Hope you enjoy!😁

Room we have is nice looking and clean...also, when I checked out of my room, the gentleman at the front desk was able to call a cab that picked me up right in front of the hotel...very convenient!

Great city centre location and the room we had which was in the roof space was adequate, clean, cosy and had great views. Good value for money and would return!

Undoubtedly this hotel is in a perfect location for travellers, but it didn’t give me comfort at all. The stairs are terrible and the lift doesn’t go to the top floor. Though I chose a double room but it was really tiny and suffocating. It wasn’t properly cleaned. There was water and footprint in the washroom floor and the water was dripping continuously from the shower. There was a huge noise in the washroom probably from the water heater. I found hair in the bed and hairclip in the floor. The duvet cover was inverted. Of course this hotel is cheap, but at least the customers deserve clean room. They provide free luggage storage after checkout but they should provide individual locker in my suggestion. The receptionist was friendly.

Doesn’t allow cancellation or change of dates due to lockdown by COVID, and have the decency to charge clients the full amount even when we don’t stay there! Lost $1,200 USD just like that! DO NOT STAY IN SUCH UNETHICAL HOTELS, money grabbing opportunist REPLY BACK BELOW: Omicron was declared on Nov 28th, and all of us are blind-sided by the lockdown posted by your government. No tourists would have the foresight to anticipate the prospect of a lockdown. Instead of treating your 'guests' as a proper guest, you treat them as mere cash cows, taking into advantage of the no cancellation policies that you know full well that the 'guests' have no way to seek recourse, effectively hedging your bets using cancellation policies against black swan events such as COVID variants that no one can anticipate. TO FUTURE GUESTS, the reply below as well as the numerous one-star reviews say a lot about the management and the hotel and how they treat you as a 'guest'. Its no wonder that it has a 3.6 stars, which is frankly quite hilarious. We had no choice because at that time they were the only one left in downtown Amsterdam for the period we wanted to be at. LOL says a lot again here, given they are the last choice again by the general public..

Was here for TwitchCon and the rooms was not properly cleaned and also some of the bathrooms was very small where if you sit on the toilet and stand-up you don't have space between toilet and sink for your legs.. met two nice guys at the reception and both was Asian and pretty awesome! One of them gave good recommendation on where to go out and party!

This hotel is affordable to stay in, the room was small and there wasn't any tea or coffee in the room. But it was fine otherwise for the price. Staff friendly, excellent location. It was fine🙂

  • 2/5 jennie n. 2 years ago on Google
Currently staying here.. reception checking in was fine. But asking or even enquiring anything this morning was not nice as receptionist was just rude and dismissive. Room small but clean and can't open windows for any air either. Breakfast was minimal so didn't stay in for breakfast.

  • 2/5 Dennis W. 2 years ago on Google
The price per night is low for the location so as expected the hotel is not in the best of conditions with interior. The rooms are good and clean. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms look fairly new. Great location. Only few mins from central station.

  • 1/5 Nico N. 2 years ago on Google
Tbh this hotel deserves -5stars! Absolutely appalling! Paid over €100 a night and got a room on the ground floor, which I never expected from a three star hotel, soundproofing e extremely poor, can here the people walking by on the streets. There’s even a door to the streets with a very insecure lock. Air conditioner very noisy feel like it would collapse soon and can’t switch off once switched on…it switches on itself again. Bathroom very noisy and filthy, found hair in shower and bath. There’s no facilities at all- no kettle, no water, no fridge, only one shampoo+shower gel mix for two people. Wifi we’re suddenly down around 10pm…asked reception and he told me I don’t know what’s wrong…I then asked him to check and he said it’s down and he can’t do anything about it, told him the issue with the air conditioner and that room light was blinking and he said I’ll keep a note on that. Extremely rude I have to say and I can’t feel that he wants to help me at all!! It completely ruined my stay at amsterdam and I’ll never visit any CO chain hotels ever again. I’ll also make sure to let everyone that I know know so that they won’t have their trips ruined like me.

The first room we were given was messy and wasn't cleaned properly It has hairs on the beds, the floor was messy and there was rubbish in the wardrobes which I was very dissapointed with. When we had asked to have our room changed we were moved to different room however there was no toliet paper in the bathroom and the staff weren't the nicest to deal with. The beds were okay. Not a place I would reccomend.

  • 1/5 Wander D. 2 years ago on Google
You have no privacy, they enter your room when they are not there. A Portuguese man who works in maintenance with an Asian who works in reception. do not leave anything of value. I have proof since with insecurity I left a camera in my room and I was able to record.

  • 4/5 Luca S. 2 years ago on Google
Overall, it was a very nice stay. The only thing that I can criticize is that the staff could have been a little bit friendlier, but still for that 4 out of 5

  • 4/5 Alan M. 1 year ago on Google
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms are neat and clean. The hotel is near the train station in the oldest part of the city and is made up of several adjacent houses. A great place to stay if you have not been to Amsterdam.
