Worst experience of my life. I'm am easy traveler, but this place was beyond bad. Smoke filled hotel, dirty sheets with unknown stains and hair, broken fixtures, rude staff, disgusting room compete with roaches and peeling wallpaper. I ended up leaving the room after struggling with my concious to if I could spend a night there or not. I decided I could not and left. I didn't even bother with trying to get a refund. I just wanted out. I honestly would feel safer and more comfortable walking the streets at night than spend time in that hotel. If you think you are getting a cheap room, it is not worth it. Honestly, stay in your car. The pictures I took don't even begin to describe what it is like.

Would give it a zero if I could. The hotel was filthy and infested with bed bugs. Booked a two-night stay. When I arrived at the hotel, I found bed bugs in my bed. After showing the receptionist a video, they guaranteed a new room and a full refund for the night. However, the second room was also full of bed bugs. Took photos and again reported it to the receptionist. This was so disgusting that I cancelled my second night and had to find another hotel last minute. I was assured a full refund for both nights, but almost a month later they have not honoured it. Avoid this place at all costs

Greatest Hotel I Stayed! I really loved the Zoo in my room. The variaty of fungus amazed me! If you are a biologist and love bugs and back mold you will be the most happy guest! If I could give more Stars I would!

The worst hotel i have ever been to in my life. Bed full of bugs, dirty, food under the bed, Sinks not draining, no shampoo, toilet paper holder is none, they moved me to another room ... there was no aerial to TV, carper smelly, shower dirty, again the sink wouldn't drain, doors cannot be locked property. They can be opened from outside easily if you push a card between the frame and doors. Didn't feels secure whatsoever. Complaining of bed bugs, I had about 40-50 in my bed. The video is attached and also pictures. I emailed hotel management about the issue no answer yet in 2 weeks.

Never seen such a bad hotel. Rooms ransacked, beds not made and stains, leftover food on the table and floor. The bathroom was a huge disaster with hair everywhere and the toilet. IT residues from feces and urine🤮🤮🤮 Booked a new hotel immediately!

Horrible, please don't book any room at this hotel. I booked 2 rooms on Sep 27-28' 2023 for staying and when we were in check - in the hotel manager asked for 12 euros more because of tours taxes which is illegal the hotel room booked and paid with everything ahead so just he pushed to get the money for his own and we paid bcz we were tired and when get in the rooms full of bugs/insects all overall the place horrible and back to front desk so the hotel manager we can refund all of rooms same condition we decided to leave the hotel and he processed our refund but he didn't refund our tours tax cash payment so stolen so he said we can't refund this 12 cash back. WATCH OUT AND BE CARE FULL. Worst experience in Amsterdam unfortunately.

Worst hotel I've ever been in. The hotel was even featured on German television. Unfriendly service, room complete disaster, very dirty, had bugs afterwards, open power cable in the bathroom! Risk of death! No insight or refund from the hotel. I can advise anyone not to go there.

DON‘T let this sorry excuse of a hotel scam you out of your money. I think the only reason it is still in business is because people are too desperate to trust the reviews. Trust me, you won’t stay here and you will never see your money again. For your own safety: pick a different hotel! P.S.: it should be illegal to advertise with these nice pictures

Look up „signs of trafficking“ and you won’t stay at this hotel (especially after reading reviews of people saying that someone tried to enter their room at night). If that isn’t enough to make you reconsider, just know that it’s far from any public transport. I truly feel sorry for the staff having to work here there was a friendly man at the reception but he seemed more than done with this job.

From many years of travelling I have not seen a hotel this bad and that’s if you can call it a hotel, checked out after 1 hour of being there seeing bed bugs , blocked sink with hair to cigarette buts in the window. There were no hotels available in the first place so ended up booking here and what a mistake that was, opted to stay at a hostel instead which was much better than this place, says it all. Avoid at all costs

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to stay at New Century Hotel Amsterdam, and I must warn everyone to steer clear of this establishment if they value their well-being and sanity. My stay at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare, leaving me scarred and disgusted. Allow me to recount the horrifying details of my experience, in hopes that others can avoid such a traumatic ordeal. Upon entering my room, I was immediately greeted by an overwhelming stench of neglect and decay. The signs of poor maintenance were evident everywhere, from the peeling wallpaper to the stained and worn-out carpets. However, little did I know that the true horror was yet to come. As I settled into bed, little did I suspect that I was being lured into a trap. In the middle of the night, I awoke to an unbearable itching sensation and discovered my body covered in bed bug bites. It was a scene straight out of a horror movie. These vile creatures infested every corner of the room, and their presence became an inescapable nightmare. I strongly urge anyone considering a stay at the New Century Hotel Amsterdam to reconsider their decision. This hotel embodies everything one should avoid in a hospitality establishment. From the atrocious conditions to the bed bug nightmare, my experience was an absolute travesty. Spare yourself the anguish, and choose a reputable hotel that prioritizes guest well-being and maintains basic hygiene standards. I sincerely hope that my account serves as a cautionary tale for others, helping them avoid the physical and emotional distress I endured at this hotel. Spread the word, share this review, and let's protect fellow travelers from this despicable establishment.

I usually don’t write reviews but unfortunately due to the terrible condition of the room and rude behavior of receptionist. I would like to write it here.!! So I booked a room for 3 days at new century hotel. The room was horrible with broken window handels, broken walls, stained everywhere (including wall, roof, bed, table). As the hotel webpage says the toiletries are included, but in reality there is 20 ml face and body gel for two persons for 3 day. Heater was not working. No phone provided, no hand wash given, the locker not working. Due to the terrible conditions of the room I asked for room change or an upgrade for a room. The two receptionist assured for new room whereas didn’t fulfill there promise, and one of the receptionist behave rudely and told me to checkout. Overall the hotel fail to show there motto “High Quality and Great service “ as mentioned in there home page. Do not trust the photos given in there page because it’s really a rat hole.

It was a nightmare. Please avoid this hotel at all costs. We booked it because it seemed like a suitbale option for us at the time. Not knowing, it would turn out as a horrible experience. We booked it for two nights but it was so horrible that we left at midnight. 1. Cleanliness: We change three rooms. All three was filled with bed bugs. One had used condom on the floor. Blood stained sheet and dirty bathroom that we avoied best as we could. 2. It was far from the Central part of Amsterdam that had only one Tram Station in 20 minutes walking distance that is only functional during the day. 3. The employees did not care about the customer problems.

Stay Away! A Disappointing Experience at New Century Hotel Amsterdam My recent stay at New Century Hotel Amsterdam left much to be desired. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a series of disappointments that overshadowed the potential of this establishment. To begin with, upon entering the room, I was taken aback by the lack of cleanliness. The floor was visibly dirty, with small bags scattered around, and some even found their way onto the bed. The presence of breadcrumbs on the wardrobe further emphasized the inadequate housekeeping standards. Regrettably, the cleanliness issues extended to the bathroom as well. It was evident that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned, as there were strands of hair and other unidentifiable debris left behind. This lack of attention to detail was highly disappointing and made me question the hotel's commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment. Moving beyond the room, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. The corridors and lift were visibly dirty, which gave an impression of neglect and poor maintenance. It was disheartening to see such a lack of cleanliness in common areas that are crucial for guest comfort and enjoyment. Furthermore, one concerning aspect of my stay was the presence of drug dealers in the hotel car park every night. This not only created an unsafe and uncomfortable atmosphere but also raised serious security concerns. It was disappointing to see that the hotel did not take appropriate measures to address this issue and ensure the safety of its guests. Lastly, the receptionist's lack of welcoming and friendly demeanor added to the overall negative experience. Their attitude was indifferent, and I did not feel valued as a guest. A warm and friendly reception is essential in creating a positive first

How is this place even allowed to operate and issued a business license? No clue how it passes a health inspection with all the bed bugs and accumulated filth. I was bit by 2 bed bugs within 30minutes of taking a nap, literally felt the dirtiness crawl onto my skin, and decided to leave and stay at another hotel. Save yourself the money, frustration, and time! I would not wish my experience on anyone; to top it off the hotel staff are beyond feeling any empathy for anyone.

TERRIBLE. DON'T GO THERE PLEASE. We came here to have a nice vacation and enjoy Amsterdam. Instead, we found bed bugs, mold and our room was dirty. We had to find a new hotel at 11 pm, we could not stay and sleep in such conditions. The receptionists don't speak English and are agressive when you try to get a refund. Please, avoid this place, you can have much better for a dozen more euros. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Very inexpensive and good. Room could have been a little bigger. Service is great, rooms clean and modern. Breakfast and dinner are plentiful as a buffet. Friendly staff. I don't know why the reports are always so negative.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING Avoid staying at this place at all costs. The pictures you might find online are absolutely not real. The hallways are quite run down and not well lit, plus I also saw a pile of dirty bed sheets just laying on the floor in the middle of the hallway. The rooms are extremely dirty, there was a big stain on the TV of questionable origin. Even though it's supposed to be a "non smoking" hotel, there were cigarette burns on the bed sheets and the mattress. The towels had big holes in them and i also found hair in them. But the worst of it all are the beds. Besides finding someone else's hair on the pillow and in the bed, the bed is FILLED with BED BUGS. I had just laid down for the night and felt something, turned the light on and there were bed bugs crawling all over the bed and pillow! I was disgusted and horrified. I went to the reception to point out the issue and the guy didn't look surprised at all, which makes me think that this is a recurring incident. I just gathered all of my stuff and ran out of this place as fast as I could and spent the night at the airport. Save yourself the trauma.

I put one star because there is no zero! Lousy hotel, the hotel is not shown as on the page or in the photos, it is a very unpleasant, dirty and unsafe hotel. All the facilities are damaged and without maintenance. In the room we were assigned there was already a person sleeping, which means that anyone could enter your room and rob you 🥴. Very secluded from everything. Apart from my refund they didn't want to give it to me I hope to get my money back.

Never stay here, affordable price is simply not worth it. I got severely bitten all over my body by bedbugs, and we were denied a refund, because “we didn’t complain during checkout”. Though I believe most people are aware that it takes time for the bedbug marks to appear on the body. This place is absolutely unsanitary and should be shut down immediately.

Bed bugs and smoke filled rooms. The rooms were quite small, but that was okay for the cheap prices. The hotel has a lot of potential because it is near to the end of tram line 1 and a quick ride to airport. Hopefully we will not get any disease from all those bed bug bites. Stay away from this place.

if I could leave 0/5 I would. that was absolutely horrible experience. room terribly dirty (have a look under the bed - candies, balloons, trash) , horrible smell, dirty wall and floor. stayed for two nights and they didn't clean the room after first night. so we should have asked for towels on a reception. I don't even want to talk about bathroom - terrible. but cherry on the top - bedbugs! wake up in a middle of the night and should have changed the room. will never come back to this hotel. the worst experience ever.

AVOID! THIS HOTEL NEEDS SHUTTING DOWN!!!... Honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff are rude and unprofessional. Every room is full of bedbugs. Everyroom has a strong smoke smell and the cleanliness is disgusting... Honestly you would feel safer and cleaner sleeping on the streets. The worst hotel experience in my life… I have no idea how it’s possible that hotel is still open! Rooms and bathroom extremely dirty and stinky. Bedbugs everywhere! When we went to receptionist to say about what we just found out, she said “you could read our reviews on booking, is standing there that we have bedbugs” 🙄🙄 This place should be burned down..

Very dirty. There was only one pack of shower gel in a room for two. Nothing else. Old towels, torn. Lack of large bath towels. Clogged sink in which the water does not drain. The staff is terrible. I waited 10 minutes for the two at the reception desk to finish talking with their friends who were also standing by the reception desk. It is unacceptable for a customer to wait. Country sofa. This one star is too much for this hotel. He is terrible.

Had to stay here for 2 nights after having my flight home cancelled. When I first arrived my room had not been cleaned so was moved to a different room. I had no issues after this until the morning I left when I found a dead bed bug by my pillow which I’d obviously been sleeping next to all night!!! Reading other reviews it seems this is a big issue at this hotel so I am surprised it hasn’t been shut down yet. I am lucky that I won’t be paying for this hotel!!!

The staff don't really care about complaints, place is dirty, hand basins blocked, toilet seats make public toilets look sterile and worst of all BED BUGS!! We were there for two nights and had to swap rooms 3 times. Never in my life have I experienced anything like this place.

First I was really looking forward to the vacation in Amsterdam...about 2.5 hours...then I went to this hotel.... It is dirty, ugly and above all it promises much more than it has. Even for the price you pay for a simple room, it is clearly too much money. It stinks from the sink, the hallways are dirty and there is garbage lying around in the hallway. The buffet is the size of a school desk and having to pay extra for coffee is just too much. I would love to have my money back and get compensation for the excitement.

The worst hotel ever… and the worst and rudest workers ever!!! Dirty… bedbugs… smells horrible… it’s a nightmare not a hotel! The man in a cap at the reception was incredibly rude and racist!!! He should go to jail for everything he said. He used incredibly rude words for Ukrainians and openly supported putin. His words had no connection to the situation and I don’t know why he even mentioned all that. I’m wondering who’s the owner of this place at all and why you all guys don’t feel any shame over there and don’t even want to improve yourself after all the bad feedbacks. Shame on you for everything you do and say to people!

Stay away from this place! Me and my partner had a look at our room before hand and there was bed bugs, the receptionist didn’t do nothing about it, never said sorry or anything along the lines of “it will be sorted out”. it did not phase him , by the looks of it the room will be made up and will be given to the next poor traveler. The floors were not mopped and nothing was wiped down. The place all together seemed very dodgy lucky I wasn’t by myself as a female I would feel very unsafe. No one wore any uniform either.

We booked last minute and it was the only hotel with acceptable price for 1 room with private bathroom. We wasn’t planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel anyway, so we didn’t cared that much about the stars. Unfortunately it turned out to be the worst hotel we ever stayed in. The hotel was old, dirty and very bad maintained. What’s the worst is that you can also expect some insects, I haven’t seen them but my body was inching me after laying down in the bad. The owner should be shamed. At least the personal is nice 🙄

Bed Bugs Alert! Terrible experience! Do not stay here! If there was a option for no star or zero star! That would be the most appropriate! Location: into the middle of nowhere! Cleanliness: right from the entrance they have the garbage bag scattered! And the rooms are filled with bed bugs!!! *They keep the bed bugs as their beloved pet!* This hotel has ruined my most planned Summer holiday! Staff: The behaviour of the lady was horrible! Inspite of knowing that they have bed bugs, they are robbing the guests and ruining their holidays! The bed bugs bit on my eye lid and I am not able to recognise myself!

I checked in Hotel New Century Schiphol amsterdam 01/05/2023 at about 03:30am and paid €169.95 with receipt of €161.57 the next day. Night and morning receptionist was rude, horrible and irresponsible. I was in room 303 or 313(forgot the room number). This room was full of bed bugs. My body was full of bed bugs bites until today although after more then 10 times of treatment in my country now. I am spending time and money treating it until now. This hotel is surrounded by many homeless people at the lobby, inside the hotel elevator too. It is a horrible experience for me. I am suffering so much until today!

ATTENTION!!! Keep yourself far away from this place. I saw a serious jornalistic reportage from a german TV and this place is HORRIBLE!! It is absolutely harmful for your health. The corridors, the elevator, the rooms... everything is extrem dirty. The bed furniture not clean and not changed from the last customer. The furniture broken. The german TV was at the beginning of the year 2023 and again in 6 months later. The "hotel" was in the same calamitous state. The TV also tried to talk to dutch health authorities to check and CLOSE this hotel, without success. So, it is very important for your vacation and your health: DO NOT STEP ON THIS PLACE.

Very disappointed! There is no hot water, the TV cannot be watched, the doors and windows cannot be closed, and there are bed bugs. After getting up in the morning, I found that there were bed bugs crawling on the bed. After checking out, I found that only my back had no red, swollen bite marks. My whole body was covered with red, swollen bite marks. My whole body feels very itchy and disgusting. I hope the owner can manage it carefully! Ithink the business should close down and disinfect the entire building before reopening Because once bitten by bed bugs, it feels extremely painful!Although the operator has refunded the fee, my damage has been done and is irreparable! If the operator continues to operate, I think it should sue the operator and demand compensation from the Dutch Tourism Bureau! I have photos and video records!

Under no circumstances would I sleep here again. From the looks of it, it hasn't been cleaned since it was opened. The furniture is damaged and parts of it are missing in some rooms, the wallpaper is coming off of walls in multiple places, sockets are loose or missing altogether with potentially life threatening wiring exposed, there are stains in various colours on the floor, the walls, the ceiling, and the furniture, as well as bugs and mites on the beds, floors, and the ceilings. Nobody should have to stay there. If you can avoid it by any chance, do so. Sleep in the street if it is the only alternative, it would most likely be safer and definitely healthier.

This hotel is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Really wish I’d read the reviews before hand. The place was filthy and when I noticed there was bugs on the bed I let the reception know and changed rooms. After I changed rooms I noticed this bed was also infested with bed bugs! the wallpaper was coming off the walls, there was McDonald’s rubbish in the bathroom, there was burn holes in the sheets and it was just disgusting. I didn’t expect much as the price was cheap but I at least expected it to be clean. This hotel should be shut down it’s a health and safety risk when it’s infested with bed bugs. I did not stay the night I ended up booking a much nicer hotel. Next time I will know to read the reviews before booking a hotel in future.

Terrible hotel! The worst I've been to in my life! I would give it a zero if I could. I booked it last minute in a rush and unfortunately did not read the reviews before. Bed bugs, smoke filled rooms, no shower gel/shower, bad service overall! I was traumatised for weeks after and had to get antibiotics for skin reaction I suffered thereafter! It definitely needs to be demolished!

For the price we paid, it has everything you need, hot water, a decent bed and it is very close to the tram stop for line 1. If you want a functional AC, soap, a bar/restaurant open in the evenings you better go somewhere else. The employees are doing their best, but again, it was the cheapest accommodation on Booking with 3 weeks in advance, so I cannot complain and didn't expect much. Beggars can't be choosers!!! The only real issue was the smell of hepatitis coming from the fast food joint nearby.

**Bed Bugs** Dirtiest hotel I've ever seen. Stains from floor to ceiling. Obviously the owners don't care because the parking lot is always full of garbage too. Receptionist wasn't surprised when we asked for a new room because of the bugs crawling on us! They gave someone our room at 2 am and they entered while we were sleeping! Absolutely dismal.

It's a nice clean hotel specially for the price I got the room I paid 27euros/day Some parts of the room was awesome like the mirror but the room was very small like 2.5x2 m and the shower was a bit old definitely needs a modernisation. You can have a nice launch from a Chinese kitchen that's really delicious and people are friendly.

We agree with all bad reviews. The whole Hotel room was dirty. There were patches of dirt and mould on the wall and in the bathroom. It seemed like it was never cleaned before. On the internet they promise that the Hotel is near the center of Amsterdam, that‘s not true. It takes 40 minutes until you arrive in the center. We are highly disappointed and grosed out!

Pros: hot water. close to tram station, you can get to downtown Amsterdam in 25 min. No bed bugs in my experience however the mattress was uncomfortable. There’s a McDonald’s right next to it if you want breakfast or dinner. Fair prices Cons: bathroom was always wet. Leaky toilet, the carpet entrance was getting wet as well. Tv wasn’t working. The hotel was always smelling like cigarettes when it says is a non smoking hotel Wouldn’t recommend this hotel for more than a 2 night stay

It's a cosy and very poor service hotel, there is no service related to anything, not even a coffee maker in rooms, reception person does not care who's coming or going, they do not care that you stay or leave, It's a very cheap not in a money way but in a service and experience way. No family, ladies or any simple person can rest here. It seems like it is useful for only 1 to 2 hour use, smart people can understand what is the meaning. Worst experience in life span

I was there last week for a small week of rest. According to the website where i booked the accomodation this hotel The Century was a descent hotel. The only 2 good things about the hotel was the friendly chinese lady where you can check in and the WIFI spot was funcioning good. Now the negative side of the hotel: no working tv, the bathroom was dirty (a lot of dirty brown spots), the bedsheets were dirty and had bedbugs, the staff were unfriendly and almost agresive and for the money i paid for i would rather had a better hotel somewhere in Amsterdam, the ventilations in the room and bathroom are full of dust, no toiletbrush, the showercabin was dirty as hell. Dont go to this hotel. It is unhealthy and in amsterdam are better budget hotels. Believe me, dont go to this hotel. Very very unhealthy hotel.

A very very dirty hotel with insects (fleas) in the bed. I couldn't sleep in a bed like that with my mother. We packed up our things at 1 a.m. and went to reception. The man who works there knew exactly what location the hotel was in and he said he wanted to tell people that this hotel was very terrible in terms of hygiene, but because of his employer he didn't dare. He printed out the refund of the money and said the money would be in our account within a few days. Firstly, to date we have not received the money. Secondly, my mother and I couldn't find a hotel at 1:30am. We even drove to The Hague but still couldn't find a hotel with a free room. So we went home to Germany afterwards even though we were super tired.

Hotel doesn’t exist, the owners and staff are probably fraudsters. They provided non existing reservation to clients when they rebranded the hotel with another name . my guess being they couldn’t host people anymore because of their online rewiew. My New Year’s Eve was totally shattered by this fraudsters as I made a reservation and when I got there , they claimed it’s been sold to someone else and I had to sleep on the streets.i wish karma finds them sooner than later.

If you want to experience bedbugs then I highly recommend you to try this hotel. If you want to experience sleeping in a dirty and smelly hotel, I highly recommend you to try this hotel. If you want to experience living in a small room without lighting, TV or clean sheets, I advise you to try this hotel. If you just want to experience an itchy rash caused by bedbugs, I advise you to stay in this hotel for one hour. There's no less than one star 🥲

On the top of the tower you will find nice bar when you can spend nice evening with few points and friends of course :) high rate pl...

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
