We spent 3 nights in the Botel. It's clean. The staff is very friendly. The buffet breakfast is good, quite classic but enough. The bathroom is a bit small. The location is very good thanks to the free ferry. It's easy to go to the train station and the downtown

Service, check-in with the automatic system. It is very convenient and very simple. The service at the counter is very friendly. The rooms are reasonably priced. A place for cheap parking. I recommend this place for people with their own cars.

Where to start. Loved the location and the concept. A bit more and it could be brilliant. It seems the whole deck level we were on has been recently refurbished. The bed was comfortable. Room decor was modern despite nowhere to put your clothes. So why; Was the TV small, unwatchable and about 20 years old with no decent channels or a viewable screen. The bath towels were tiny and about as old as the boat. No tea and coffee in the room. Coffee from the bar only and nearly the same price as a breakfast! No food in the restaurant in the evening even tho some residents seemed to be getting a basic meal, not available to paying guests. The music in the bar can only be described as suited to a very narrow audience. The staff were more interested in talking to each other than attending the customers. The toilet area missed out on the upgrade. Would love to go again but will wait until the reviews on the facilities and staff approach improve.

I stayed in the letter T, highly recommend! Very fun space, surprisingly spacious, very clean. Watch out for the edge of the bed though especially if drunk. The (very comfortable) mattress is squishy so the edge of the bed catches you real good. 😅 Staff are great and friendly. Loads of really nice eateries nearby as well as an AH convenience store.

Good for what it is. We had a good stay with the family of four. We had a quadruple cabin. All was clean (beds, room) and remodelled (Bathroom). Staff was nice. The breakfast is ok but not worth the price (40€ for a Family of four) as the food selection is kind of low quality (Bread, jam, coffee etc).

The only reason why I would not give a 5 star is bcz the walls are too thin. You can hear your neighbors talking thru the night. Shower is very tight fitting. I was not provided hand soap. Other than that it’s a great botel. The ferry is easy to take to/from Central Station.

This was an awesome surprise. Rooms are quite large with a decent desk, closet and bathroom. Nice view over the river. Amazing large rooftop balcony with stunning views. Large comfortable bed! Big windows. The hotel is just a couple minutes walk from the boat. Unbeatable prices for Amsterdam. From the moment you exit your room it takes you around 15m to get to Amsterdam Centraal. Highly recommend.

I bloody loved the Botel. The staff are brilliant. Happy, friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic. My room looked over at the ferry Dock so from room to Central Station was 15 minutes on free ferry. The room was box standard. Small TV. No kettle. Bathroom was like an aircraft or train. Any other hotel and I would have been upset by this but it is a ship so hey ho. I WILL be returning to the Botel next year.

We stayed at the Botel for 2 nights 20 years ago on a cheapo bender from the UK. Great location with great views, cheap and cheerful, not outrageous prices for a backpacker hostel, younger clientele, friendly staff, bus/ferry from Centraal - but it's a long walk if you're out for a late one as transport will not be available between 1am and 6am. Great experience for three 21 year olds . I'm honestly surprised to hear that it's still trading as it wasn't new when it was new, if you get me. Stay 1 night for the experience. Sleep elsewhere for the second night. Lol

Visited just this week for a 5 night stay. I booked alongside the Eurostar train as a package well in advance for the best deal and I highly recommend you do the same if you plan to visit Amsterdam. I don't recommend paying more than £500 for a week for this hotel. This isn't a bad thing, but for the most part you do get what you pay for here. Overall it definitely needs a face lift. Few broken fixtures, the entire boat loudly creaks throughout the night and the walls are paper thin, but service was excellent and friendly and breakfast was good too. The hotel also has free baggage hold for up to 6 hours after you check out which was handy. Also the free ferries to Centraal Station and Pontsteiger depart just a 30 second walk away, once every 10-20 minutes. Don't expect a spectacular stay, but it wasent half bad for what I payed. For a budget trip, I do recommend.

Amazing location. Very convinient transport ferry. Rooms are very small but the view is good if you are lucky to have a sea facing room. Bathroom is extremely small. Also, the roof leaked wen it started raining and eventually we had to change the room .

Basic hotel, the rooms are small like you should expect because is kind.of a cruise boat. The breakfast is Ok: eggs, beans, bacon, cheese, vegetables, bread etc. The big issue I'd that you need to take a ferry road o get there and the ferry has an schedule so you need to plan how to get there in time to get the ferry. I enjoyed my time in Botel specially for the view from the room.

Rooms are clean, a bit small and compact so wouldn’t recommend if you’re claustrophobic (bunk bed rooms). Staff were lovely. Plenty of options for breakfast, easy to get from centraal on the ferry, the views are amazing & it’s free! Would stay again but not with the prices that are currently being charged!

Excellent location for the ferry, quirky building and exceptionally comfortable bed (we slept in five places whilst on our travels and this hotel was the most comfy!). Due to the room being a converted cabin, the shower was rather small, but for a night or two you can't really complain. We'll definitely be returning due to the convenience and excellent views.

Our stay here was wonderful. We didn't want to be in the centre of Amsterdam, so the location of the botel was perfect for us. Just a free ferry from behind the central station straight to there. 12 min ride up the river able to see many new buildings being built. The rooms are basic but clean and well decorated the only thing that would have made it better was to have a kettle in the room for tea and coffee. The views from the boat were amazing. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful place on north island, conveniently next to the ferry, restaurants and shops. Its great for getting away from the city but has lots of art and culture. Would recommend. Reception was very helpful too.

Spent 3 nights on Botel, very basic small room but clean, comfy bed. Terrible bathroom, so small it's rediculous. However staff were all great, fab bar staff and the night staff kept the bar open for us, good prices. Once we knew the correct ferry terminus it was easy to get back and fore. Outside main train station facing river take far left queue runs constantly, back and fore and is free. We were told Botel has new owners so will be refurbished.

Room with built in hanging and shelf space with desk and safe. Full length mirror & small tv. Clean and comfortable for a couple. Used as a base for sleeping and showering. Bathroom not really spacious but did the job. Plenty of plugs. The botel is under refurbishment for the reception, breakfast and bar area, which only affected us when waiting for the rest of our group (10 altogether) as nowhere inside to really wait. Corridors being revamped, but workmen were polite and moved out the way when you were trying to get past. Breakfast and bar on boat opposite, really steep stairs down to breakfast, but breakfast good, usual fruit, pastries, bread, cereals, bacon, sausage, beans, egg. Could find something to eat every morning without having the same thing. Toilets in this ship not good and really smelt. 😕 Free crossing ferry a few metres away. Overall, a pleasant, clean stay in the room.

You pay for 5 star, then you discover that refugees are hosted for at least half occupancy. All the respect, but do not ask a 5 star hotel rate then! Lower bunk bed is claustrophobic small.

  • 5/5 Cameron J. 1 year ago on Google
Can't beat the location - literally next to the ferry to Central, which comes every 15 minutes until 10am, then every half hour until 1am. The ferry is free! It takes fifteen minutes max each trip. The Botel is clean, and the breakfast is worth the extra price as there's a big buffet. The rooms are small but not tiny - we stayed in a room for two and it was really cute and cosy, and the bed was big so we didn't feel cramped. Best part is the view! It's also near restaurants, the Street Art Museum, and a cool barcade called Blast Galaxy.

Rooms are very small, nice view. We had someone unlock and open our door at 6:30am, the next day we complained to staff and they had no clue why or who and called the manager who also had no clue who it was opening our door. They didn’t offer to check cameras to figure out etc. Could hear noise up and down the hallway all night. Full of permanent residents living at the hotel.

We stayed in the standard room which was booked as part of a package holiday. The room was very clean and well furnished however it was bunk beds (it was quad room) the double rooms have a double bed. We were on the first deck but the view was still okay (if you are on a higher floor the view would be great) also 2 minutes away from a ferry stop which is free!! So only about a 10 minute ferry trip to Central Station and then a further 10 minutes into the main centre. Overall a great location and a good place to stay if your only wanting a comfortable place to get your head down. Only grip is the shower doesn't drain very well and overflows and same story with the sink but not a major issue.

We got this place for our family trip to Amsterdam because it was bang for the buck as there were 4 of us. The room is what you would expect from a cruise ship cabin. We stayed on the lowest level, just at the water line. Despite being a ship, it does not rock or sway even during heavy waves. We ordered breakfast with our room because there's not much of places to eat around. There is a grocery shop around the corner to get snacks. There's no kettle in the room to boil water. On our 3rd night, around 1am, we were awoken by the fire alarm and everyone was rushing to evacuated. The staff came down to confirm there's no fire and we all went back. Seems someone was smoking and triggered the alarm. Some parts of the hotels does smell like someone's smoking. Was caught by surprise that we have to pay for city tax when we checked in.

Really comfy beds, even though they are bunk beds. Bathroom is tiny but the shower is fantastic, with high pressure and hot water. Right beside the ferry to Centraal Station. We were on the bottom floor and right beside the water, and i loved it - the swans came to say hello. Not very soundproof, you can hear a lot of noise from other rooms. Staff were lovely.

A nice botel (a hotel on a boat) adequately situated. Nice customer service, smaller rooms but appropriately priced. I plan to bring my family next year. Loved it!

Stayed in the letter "O" it was great and would definitely recommend, however I would also strongly recommend an upgraded and reliable payment method. Botel tried to charge us twice even though we had proof of payment. Not sure where the initial money went, somewhere into the unknown 🤔

The stay at Amstel botel was chilled. Rooms are not that big, but still comfortable. We had too much food one day, so it was funny to stay a night at a b(h)otel :D

i wont ruin the surprises by writing anything other than BOOK ONE OF THE LETTERS. then book the others. eat pizza at PIAZZA, eat breakfast at BROOD, take long walks abd explore the ship yards and artists areas, marvel at the sailboats and tallships, and watch out for bicycles and tiny quiet cars....

The Service was nice and we liked the location! It is very easy to get there from the main Train Station to the Hotel. However, the room was not very clean and the shower and sink were clogged so it took a long time that the water would disappear. The walls are very thin so you could hear everything neighbours are saying. The room did not heat up well so it was all the time kinda cold.

  • 4/5 Tommy C. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed in the letter T for one night, had a fantastic time, the views are fantastic The bed was very comfortable I slept well, climate control spot-on, kettle done it’s job. Amsterdam central easy accessible via free ferry’s, friendly helpful staff. Would most definitely stay again in apartment letter T.

Cheap hotel with a free ferry service to the city. Clean rooms are very small, fitted with a mini bathroom. Walls are also thin. Simple breakfast can be booked.

We stay in room 352, the showeroom is really small, like no more than 1m². The room is old, but ok for 2 nights stay. TV didnt work at arrival and no tissues, needed to ask to the receptionnist. The check in was really fast and the receptionnist really cold. We ask her about the EYCA discount and she didnt know we accepted that but her answer was really incorrect. She said: I dont know and it's not my job to know. So what is she doing at the hotel reception ? I am a receptionnist myself so I know what attitudes we need to have with the clients. For my point of view, the hotel has 1 or 2 stars, that's not an 3 stars hotel. The breakfast was basic, quality not so good. I gave 2 stars because of the location, near by the ferry and the quality/price acceptable. If we had a better hospitality, I would give a better opinion.

It was a pleasant stay. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was good. The kitchen was nice to help heat up our store bought dinner due to the 5pm lockdown in Amsterdam. Location is good and it was a good experience!

We stayed one night in the letter rooms on the roof of the Botel. The rooms have a cool design and it was worth it for the novelty and the views. Although I would say that they are starting to look a bit tired and require some maintenance. One room also had a strange smell which was apparently due to the water treatment system. There is a lot of construction going on in the area so expect an early morning wake up call from the drilling. Staff were polite and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful.

  • 5/5 Natalia F. 2 years ago on Google
I loved the stay. The rooms are very small but clean, cozy and have everything that is needed. The location is nice, it's super easy to get there from the Central station. Staff was really kind. The views from the rooms are also enjoyable. For the cheap price it is a perfect place to stay.

Good size room. Clean. Breakfast good. We stayed in cabin/ room facing the water, lovely view very quiet.Bathroom small compacted Shower basic toilet and sink. Radiators in the room and window opened. We had a lovely time. 24 hour reception free WiFi. Good choice at breakfast. Friendly staff. Very polite. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for one night. Right next to the ferry terminal and so easy and quick within minutes in the city center. Check in was quick and staff very friendly. Don’t expect a 4* Hotel - it’s a boat! Rooms were clean, beds were comfy. All good!

  • 4/5 Peter S. 1 year ago on Google
The location is fantastic. I enjoyed my stay in the Botel. The only thing I wasn't impressed by is the size of the rooms. It was okay for two or three days, but I'm glad we didn't stay there longer because it felt really cramped. The morning breakfast was great. There were very little vegan options though.

It hurts me to give a low score. First hotel I stayed at in Amsterdam in 2006. My last trip to it was 2019 before covid. Seems to have changed owners. The staff before on the desk where amazing spoke good English and where knowledgeable and friendly and always there. My last trip the staff where not there at night hard to talk to and no long offer the bus service when the ferry stops at night. So you need to get a taxi or walk absolute joke. Called them to ask where the bus was as previously done as I have stayed in the botel at least 15 times they said taxi and was really hard to understand. I called back 15 minutes later to ask if they could book me a taxi from the ferry drop off they didn’t answer the phone I ended up walking. It’s a nice place to stay and clean if you will be back before 1am but if you want to stay out late be prepared to walk or taxi. It’s a stress you don’t need when coming home after a night out.

Not worth for the money we pay. Small untidy bathroom without fresh papers and dustbins. Not even a Bath Gel,Soap, Clean towels, Kettles. Arrogant attitude by the few of the aged reception staffs . Never recommend. For 133 € you can easily find a better Hygienic hotel with added amenities .

  • 1/5 Dora 2 years ago on Google
Very bad experience. One of the receptionists was very rude. Upon asking if there was another available room to move into as our room had poor ventilation she just said no without having a look at the occupancy of rooms. Upon requesting her to check once she just looked at her screen and said we have only that room for this much money. Just 5 minutes later after searching the website we saw multiple available rooms which were even cheaper than ours. The attitude needs to be improved. Look out for the owner’s reply of ‘allright’ or ‘okay’ in the negative reviews. Shows that they don’t really take feedback seriously. Apart from this, the rooms are very small and there is constant noise from neighbouring rooms or the corridor. Would give 0/5 stars if it was an option.

  • 4/5 Sasi B. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful boat. Not far From haven. The ship Transfer is for free and you got many Options on departure. Ship IS unfortunately Not running the whole night so If you Plan on going to a Club keep in mind that the way Back there without the boat Takes much longer. Room IS small and Clean Like IT IS supposed to be in Amsterdam. Went there With a friend, shared a room for a good price and we were able to get two separate beds. Bathroom without a Window and very tiny. Somebody who Likes to stay outside Most of the Time will be totally okay With Amstel Botel. I definitely would Love to come Back one day.

  • 4/5 Nise W. 1 year ago on Google
Basic but clean. Free ferry from Central Station every 15 mins. Would stay here again as the ferry was a good experience and broke all the walking we did up. Breakfast was good too. Staff friendly. Baggage drop off available. Very enjoyable 2 night stay.

  • 3/5 Jackie G. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel room was very basic we didnt unpack our cases no where to put anything but on the positive side the bed was comfortable. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Cheap and cheerful but would have been nice to at least have tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Been to Amsterdam twice and stayed at the Botel both times. Thank you to the staff on reception and in the Bar.
