Wow, I’m just so shocked. How is this even allowed? I’m from Germany and visited for a weekend. When I first saw the hotel from the outside I was very excited because it looked really unique. When I set my first foot in my room - I couldn’t believe my eyes!! There was literally no space whatsoever. You could barely walk 15cm around the bed. My personal highlight was that the balcony was connected to random peoples room, meaning you can’t leave your window open or you risk random people entering your personal room; MEANING: YOUR ROOM IS SMELLING THE WHOLE TIME FROM THE CHINESE RESTAURANT NEXT DOOR. If you thought that’s all I’m not done. Let me tell you about our second day. The staff entered our room, while we were not there - which is fine if they want to do some cleaning - when we returned everything was still the same besides our bag. It was stolen. We will also take legal actions now. Another quick side note: they do have bed bugs :) When I booked this and saw the reviews I was instantly regretting but still wanted to give it a try because I thought „it can’t be that bad“. For your information - 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐝.

Reading some of the reviews about this place and I was terrified to come here but our experience was very good. Beds were comfy and the room was clean. Staff were very welcoming. Location is great. The only complaint is the noise from other guests and some sirens in the street but the hotel can't change that. And the stairs is so incredibly steep, it's like climbing a ladder, but that seems the type of architecture in Amsterdam anyway. I would stay here again.

Looking at the reviews, we had apprehensions about staying at this hotel, but in the end we found it was a good deal for the price. The location is ideal, close to museums, and the center is within walking distance (or 10minutes by tramway). The rooms are slightly small but fairly clean, despite a few ants (ah, nature), probably due to the restaurant downstairs. Note that the heating is too hot, even when turned down. But it's quite good for the price, compared to what we can find in the city. It is perfect for a short stay where the hotel is just for sleeping and you don’t want to spend all your money in a room.

Not bad for the price...bit of a shock though after paying the hotel tax that i had to also pay some other tax as well... The room is pretty standard to be honest, bed, tv, shower...no tea maker though, lol I found the bunk bed comfy and the room was warm. Those steps are steep though.

Our stay in this "hotel" went very badly. I really do not recommend this establishment. We paid around 1000euros the week to stay in such miserable conditions: - About the room: our room was absolutely not as described on Booking: bathroom outside the room, without a real shower (+hot water issues)… and our room was in the middle of the hallway with a lot of light and noise during the night! - About hygiene problems: ants on the floor and in the bed, faded and dirty carpet, very dirty sheets and mattress (brown stains), and dirty linen with holes! - About the hotel staff: not always friendly, and our bed was only done once or twice during the week (not logical??). As a conclusion: Don't go to this “hotel”!

Great price for the location, quick check in and check out, friendly staff. Perfect for a short stay in Amsterdam when you need a place to stay the night at a good location

If you can, spend your money somewhere else. Do not stay in room 119, why? Room with street view, which mean you can ear everything even worst if someone star works at 6.30am just in the the side of your window. Room is at the end of a corridor where smells horrible. At 8.30am the maintenance people from the hotel stared working in the room just next to us, "good for me" that I'm awake since 6.30 due the first point above. We are in our honey moon, when we arrive we received a twin bed, when I talk with he reception guys the answer was "you can put it together".. yeah sure is pretty much "same as matrimonial bed", they totally can made the change due the hotel seems to be with low demand. The room have not blackout so if you need dark to sleep or sensitivitytl to light, be ready yo wake up at 5am. But is ok, 6.30 you have they guys outside working, is not that bad, right? #Ironic Location is good, train #2 brings you just to 1 block from the hotel. The cleaning in the room was OK.

It was a reasonable room for the price… neat and clean though ! Room size was too small but the location was very convenient! Tram stop is just outside and supermarket just opposite, many cafes around. I think it’s a good choice for a budget stay !

Perfect stay 👌🏼 thank you to Mohamed, the night receptionist who was very friendly and kind, on the other hand, the daytime reception really lacks courtesy and proffesionalism. No "hello" or anything. the rooms are small but clean and perfect for a stay like this, very well located. Marion et Kim, big up to Mohamed again

My son absolutely loved the bunk bed, and I personally enjoyed the crisp, clean sheets and incredibly comfortable mattresses! Friendly reception, secure key-card entry, good shower gel, perfectly clean toilet, towels, coffee machine and vending machine downstairs. All this, at the CHEAPEST price! There was safe locker in the room! Oh, yes, the old elevator added a cool interesting aspect to the hotel's atmosphere. We had a fantastic time! I would only wish for the water pressure in the shower to be more powerful. ALL bunk beds were for us! We booked a normal room, but received a surprise 👍😃

The hotel is in a fabulous place for exploring with the trams buses etc just 200m away. The rooms are basic and dated hence 2 star. Downstairs very damp smell but fine when you get to the rooms however very worrying and questionable staining on the bedroom wall which made me feel icky. Bed not very comfortable (too soft) but bedding crisp and clean.

This place doesn’t really deserve the bad reviews it’s getting. Beds are clean, room is clean, toilet and shower are properly cleaned. Staff is nice and helpful, Location is good. Room isn’t sound proof but it’s nothing drastic, my room is below the restaurant but not a overbearing smell or anything. It’s perfectly suitable to have a place to sleep but just spend more money if you want luxury, I guess.

If I could I would add -5 stars . We booked our holiday with the hotel for 5 days . Because of the pandemic situation we couldn’t leave our country (UK) to travel to Amsterdam. We tried to ask for a other date for next year but the hotel said it’s not possible because it’s gonna be different price for the next season . They NOT answering for any phone calls, they don’t have any email address, we can only communicate on booking.com but they don’t answer any more for any questions. And of course they don’t wanna refund our 1200£ . Such a rubbish company . Please DO NOT BOOK ANY HOLIDAY HERE ! Rubbish place -5 stars

Very good location, but we had a room with very old one glass windows. It was very very cold and wind was blowing through the windows (you could see the curtain moving). I had to buy ducktape and cotton wool to put on the window frame, they didn't want to give us an electric heater, we actually got it afterwards. We know that it was not the same in all the rooms and the price was relatively cheap, but it feels like the hotel should keep it up to some hygiene norms at least.

The room is super warm, clean, and tidy. The bathroom too. The check in and chek out process is fast. Towels are provided (big and small ones). The only minus is there's no shampoo, soap, and toothpaste.. Only handwash. The location is perfect! Walking distance to Concertgebouw and Museumplein (where there are van gogh museum, rijksmuseum, etc). Very close to public transport (tram and bus), 1-2 minute walking, also a few minutes by those transport to a place to rent a bike!. Conclusion? Perfect for those who wants to travel around amsterdam.

For the price this hotel is absolutely fine. I think people forget you book a budget hotel as a place to shower and sleep. If you want a big room with plenty of amenities be prepared to pay more and stay else where. I was worried after reading the reviews but upon arrival the bed, sheets, towel, toilet, sink and shower were clean. Our towels were changed daily! - yes there was dust behind radiators but the places that needed to be clean were. We checked the mattress and no bed bugs. The staff were friendly, the location is perfect and our stuff was not stolen - we used the common sense you use in any budget hotel/hostel, do not leave valuables in hotel room and lock the door. The size of the room was absolutely fine, they’re not big but they don’t need to be the location is amazing, get out of the room and explore the area! Just like any other hotel we have stayed in when visiting Amsterdam, tourist tax is payable on arrival - read your booking info.

Great for location, trams running to central frequently with the stop to get them being less than a two minute walk. Supermarket also opposite it. However, we came back and there was ants in the room (more than a few) on the second night. Room was smaller than we thought with the bathroom tiny. Staff are lovely, can't fault the service (they moved us rooms after the ant incident) but the rooms are lacking.

Don't be fooled by the online pictures, there is no bar. Unless you visit the Chinese next door for a meal. When we arrived we was charged a 50 euro tourist fee that we was unaware of. The brown carpet throughout stinks and when going back at night you can smell the fryers from the Chinese on the landings 30 minute walk to the centre but there is close tram stop to. Beds are comfy enough.

Location is solid. Hallways smell very gross, rooms are small. Guy who works afternoon/evenings is friendly and helpful. Morning staff was non friendly nor accommodating. It’s a budget stay but the smell is too much. Two stars at best

BEDBUG ALERT! DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! It’s very nasty. The rooms are very small and they don’t clean properly. During our stay the “cleaning” staff went into our room without permission and didn’t even take the dirty towel with them…. This is the worst hotel to stay in if you want to enjoy Amsterdam. They are also going to charge you a “city tax”, which was about 26€. Be careful and look for other accommodations to stay in.

Oh my word. All I can really say, I came here a few weeks ago and I never leave reviews but I have to make people aware of this. The worst hotel I’ve ever ever stayed at. Corridors smell absolutely awful, smell like death. Our carpet was mouldy. We found a few ants in our bed🤢no matter how cheap the hotel is it should never be this awful. We were so close to leaving early and booking another hotel. Please do not waste your time here.

  • 4/5 Shirley H. 1 year ago on Google
I liked the location of this hotel. The corridors just had a funny smell that we couldn't tolerate. Our room was on the stairs above the restaurant

Bed was very very comfortable! The room was nice with big nice windows with a nice Dutch view. The rooms has been refurbished everything looked new and I loved it. The reception is open 24h and the receptionist lady was calm and polite she explained us everything we needed to know. Location is good, very close to the museum’s area. Close to one of the best supermarkets in Amsterdam in case you need some snacks during the night. We stayed here with friends I can’t say anything negative to be honest We had lovely time. One suggestion I would give to the hotel is to provide a “Don't disturb” card that customers can hang on the doors room for no cleaning room during the stay, apart from that all good!! Thank you very much next time we will definitely book with you guys! :)

Disgusting customers policy. Super expensive and - when asked to allow a refund or a voucher due to the current circumstances - they refused to do it. Most companies offer vouchers because they understand the situation. Whereas this hotel did not have the decency even to offer that. I am shocked by the lack of empathy in this current difficult times. I will NEVER book this hotel again, sad to see such lack of human kindness.

Great location. The rooms were a bit small and no place for the suitcases. Justin, the guy from the reception was very nice and kind. helped us a lot, and made our stay much more comfortable.

  • 4/5 Kyle C. 4 years ago on Google
For the price, I had no problems with it. I stayed in an 8 bed hostel room and the only problem would be the stairs. Room was clean. Windows don’t open which is a problem if it gets warm but it shouldn’t affect the rating. I didn’t use the restaurant. Very good location close to many shops and restaurants, 10-30 minute walk from the centre, right by a tram stop.

The room was changed before our arrival in last min and the hotel never called or informed us. It was doubles sized room and just changed to 1mt2 with bunk bed. They didn't accept any responsibility, they just said that they are not responsible about anything and contact with the agency that we booked. The room was clean but the smallest room that I have seen in my life! Horrible. I just gave two stars for cleaning and being without noise. You should find a different place to enjoy your staying in Amsterdam.

  • 1/5 Chun-Lin L. 4 years ago on Google
Dirty rooms with bed bugs. Unhelpful reception staff and unprofessional management - would not provide a refund despite leaving 4 nights early due to the bedbug situation. If you’re considering it because of the price, save yourself the hassle and stay further out of the city and use the excellent public transport or cycleways to get where you need to go.

Jeffrey or Geoffrey, was very helpful. The room was clean and staff helpful. It is a 2 star hotel but the location is 5 star. The area that the Hotel is closest to as you head towards Amsterdam central is very beautiful, safe and full of museums, parks and it all feels very safe and relaxed. We were able to store our luggage there for the day after we checked out. If you are the type that likes to save with budget accommodation because you'll spend little time in your accommodation then this place might be for you. Downsides were, some noise coming from people using stairs or the concert hall next door having attendees chatting outside. Mind you that all usually happens in normal daylight hours but I think in any city, its advisable to bring earplugs if you do come from a very silent place at night. Aside from those minor things, I would go back. As others have said, location is quality. Buses to airport 2 min walk, supermarket, 3min walk. Van Gogh museum 5min walk etc etc.

I was scared to book here because of the past reviews but it exceeded my expectations. The location is great and the staff was friendly. We stay in the room with the bunk beds. It was super small but had everything we needed. The beds where comfy and the room was clean. As a young person, this hotel was all I needed and I have zero complaints about it. I really recommend it for the price. Maybe if you are older and want something nicer this might not be the place. But if you are just looking for a place to spend the night with more privacy than a hostal this is the place.

  • 4/5 Ale 1 year ago on Google
Perfect location, comfy bed and really nice staff. The room was super noisy , the floor cracked a lot and I could perfectly hear what was happening out of my room, in the next room and everywhere in the hotel. Anyways, you can't ask for more for that price, i would go again.

We spent three good nights at the Trianon. The rooms were clean and very correct, (although a little small), considering the low price we paid. The staff was nice and welcoming.

  • 3/5 Silje 1 year ago on Google
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is great. Very easy to get around Amsterdam via the tram stop ditectly down the street. Lots of museums are also within walking distance, including the Van Gogh. Lots of cafe's and restaurants nearby. Very quiet area at night, felt perfectly safe walking around in the evenings. Room was quite small, but had a balcony which was a nice surprise. Beds were OK. The hotel was pretty quiet, we had some noisy neighbours who partied, but we only heard them because our window was open. The biggest issue with this hotel is the horrible stench from the bathroom. We assumed it was from the pipes because it wasn't quite as bad after using the shower, but then came back shortly after. The smell was so bad we had to sleep with the bathroom door closed and all windows open. This smell also lingers in the hallways.

  • 1/5 Nina K. 1 year ago on Google
My bf and I walked into a smelly room that smelled like the drain. In the morning I found two ants in the bathroom next to the tap. The vending machine in the lobby only takes coins and the worker couldn't help us get any from the information desk. We had to connect our single beds because no double beds were available. We paid 100 euros for one night. I've paid less for more than this in the centre of Copenhagen so such poor service in Amsterdam under the guise of 'budget hotel' is not an excuse. Skip this hotel, it's not worth the money and location.

  • 2/5 Aly Y. 1 year ago on Google
It's close to Melkweg and that's the only thing I liked The room we had was so small it was hard to find a place to lay my luggage 😅 It's horribly loud... You can hear everything that's going on inside and outside which stopped me from sleeping tbh Once I went back at 8am and the doors didn't open so I needed to wait for someone to leave q.q - the WiFi is okay and it seems to be clean

Hotel was accommodating in a way where it didn’t interfere much. Already expected to spend our trip mostly outside! Very close to transport and the grocery store is very close. We got our room surprisingly upgraded which was funny in a way that we booked a twin room but got 6 beds! We got a good laugh. Fresh towels were given, service was okay! Few issues are that there are often ants roaming around, and they don’t do anything. Good aspect is that there are no bed bugs! Windows are sealed so not much airflow and it does get really warm even without the radiator on. The whole building is quite warm. Condensation does build on the window quite often. All in all you get what you paid for and it was surprisingly not as bad as expected. I’d stay here again! It was actually quite nice. Come if you just need a place to sleep and explore Amsterdam- it is located nicely by museums.

Whilst the location of the hotel is perfect for tourists wanting to access the centre , do not book this hotel!!! We were completely mis-sold the hotel through false advertisement as the hotel did not facilitate what the pictures showed. The hotel smelt rotten , smelt like sewerage all throughout. The hotel room was dirty. The customer service to begin with was good but after placing a complaint it was poor. Arguments can be made this is a ‘budget hotel’ but during our stay we booked another hotel which cost £20 more and was amazing. Do not settle for this hotel it was horrible!
