I got the special plate and the chicken was dry and tasteless, it was probably made some time ago. Other food were okay, nothing significant. We paid 21 euros for this dish and I can say that it was one of the worst times I spent so much money on a average quality and small dish. My other friend had Rijks Taffel, it was basically the same stuff as ours plus some different stuff, but it was served on seperate plates. I can say that it also was a bad choice, because of the little amount and food quality. The only positive thing was the big chips thing and the interior of the restaurant. Also there were some different tastes you can try. Overall it's just pointless wasting so much money on low quality food, I don't recommend this place to anyone who pays attention to price/performance ratio.

Amazing experience! Delicious food! Prompt and friendly service! We couldn't make a reservation online, but we called and got in the same day. If I could give Sama Sebo more than five stars, I would ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eclectically decorated bistro vibe restaurant that serves delicious Indonesian style food. The owner is hilarious and will keep you chuckling. Judging by the banter, the place is full of locals who are greeted like old friends. The bar is well stocked so you won’t leave thirsty (or hungry).

Amazing food and staff, the food is so full of flavor. We ended up not ordering the rice plate but ordering a lot of different plates and it was amazing. To comeback.

So much food!! Had the 'rice table'. I think we counted 19 dishes of all sorts of things. The pork was a touch dry but everything else was really great. Plan to take the longest walk back to your hotel to burn it all off!

Absolutely delicious! We did the tasting menu - you really get to try it all with this and the flavors are incredible. Sebo was extremely friendly and chatted with us a while (love the family run feel of the place). Will definitely go back again whenever I am in town. Highly recommend!

The oldest Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam! So not miss this! We come here every time we are in Amsterdam. Remember to make a reservation as it gets packed really quickly. The food is absolutely delicious and the ambience of the space along with the wonderful staff makes it a memorable experience

This place is shockingly familiar although you may have never been there. It’s welcoming and relaxed, yet bustling. Hugs of the familiar abound. The bartenders and wait staff make you feel at home. I am not in my native country, but when the waiter puts his arm around me I did not feel a want to withdraw. I didn’t get a chance to say what I wanted they knew what I wanted a sampling of everything in sample size! I could not get everything in one picture. All delicious all Indonesia food.

Safe your space stomach before go to here because you need it when enjoying the food here, so surprised when my plate come, I barely can't see the rice because it cover with a lot of dishes, I think in here it commonly called as rijsttafel, it have crispy fried chicken, beef rendang, shredded fried potatoes, sweet fried banana, half boiled egg, and many vegetables, what i love is they give extra peanut sauce which really tasty and complement the dishes, would definitively give 5 stars if the price not that expensive

Sama Sebo is right next to all the museums in Museum Quarter and a great place to go after working up an appetite when visiting all the exhibits nearby. We decided that we wanted to sample as many things as possible rather than ordering two entrees. Enter the Rijsttafel or Ricetable. For €35 you get an 18 course meal served family style. We arrived hungry, but still had a hard time cleaning up all the plates. The owners brought out our food and were extremely friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. If you’re looking for a superb Indonesian experience Sama Sebo will not disappoint.

Our 1st time at an Indonesian restaurant and it was so good. We heard it's a must try in Amsterdam and we weren't disappointed. We had the rijsttafel you get to try a ton of different things and they were all delicious. Service was great. I'd definitely recommend this place.

The food is delicious. Everything we ordered was tasty and had a lot of flavor. We really enjoyed the fried rice, Sajor Lodeh (vegetables in coconut milk), and Daging Rendang (beef with coconut and Indonesia spices).

The food was amazing! It was the first time I tried Indonesian food and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was also very friendly. We got: fried rice, fried thin noodles (perfect with the vegetables in coconut milk), 3 chicken skewers with peanut sauce, and the beef in coconut and Indonesian spices.

I'm an American that flew to Amsterdam to visit for the first time. This restaurant was recommended by a cool co-worker of mine who had lived in Amsterdam for about a year and I found this restaurant to be amazing. The food was delicious, the service was great, the ambiance and atmosphere was excellent. The experience: We reserved a table the day before and when we got there, we waited a few minutes as they prepared our table, once they told us our table was ready, we went and were surprised that not only was our table ready, but all the small plates were already cooked and ready to eat. Our party of 5 immediately sat down and dug in enjoying every bite from the varied selection of Indonesian plates. It was flavorful and diverse. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're interested in trying out excellent Indonesian food and have a big appetite!

I don’t understand how people say it’s good. I guess if you’ve never been to Indonesia or tried other places where they use spices, it’s amazing. But if you’re used to flavorful food and spices this is a let down. In short it’s Indonesian food with a STRONG European fusion element. Obviously, not in a good way…Also they used unripe plantain for their dishes. Pfff

We first visited this restaurant 4 years ago and were delighted to see it was still there after covid! We brought friends with us this time, and they like it as much as we do! The service was great, and the food was to die for. The incredible variety of foods was amazing. I highly recommend!!

Old school ristaffel with classics. The beef rendang, sayor lodeh and the beans in spicy shrimp paste are highly recommended. 2 samples on offer. We didn't see any lunch specials. Reservations recommended.

We ate here mid-afternoon yesterday after a few lovely hours visiting the Rijksmuseum. We didn't book, just walked in and they were very welcoming. We were advised by the waiter that 2x rijsttafel would be fine for 3 of us and he was right. Plenty of different dishes and lots of variety. I'd definitely recommend it!

Beautiful Place. Good food. Very nice service personnel, joking and winking. Good Beer. The typical dishes have a base of rise and many toppings, all tasty. 30-40 € in Amsterdam Is a good price. You should try It.

What a great find. Was just round the corner from our hotel and we wanted to have an Indonesian meal while in the city. We couldn't have found anywhere better. It was quite full but the manager was keen to fit us in and got us two seats at the bar. We had the rijsttafel which was a selection of different dishes. We were asked what we particularly liked so they could make it to our choosing. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The manager was very friendly and spent quite a bit of time chatting to us and telling us about all the famous guests they have had in there. All in all our best evening experience in Amsterdam. Will definitely be back if we visit again
