Incredible experience ✨🥬🥂🫑 They have a greenhouse where they grow their own vegetables so the best option is the menu so the dishes are fresh. The taste of each one was spectacular and you find different textures in each dish. 📝 The waiter who served us was very formal and polite. He advised us very well and adapted the dishes to my intolerance. 💰 High prices but they are very commensurate with the quality and presentation of the dishes.

It’s a nice experience. We went to De Kas to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. Nice staff, incredible place, beautiful inside out. The food is good as well. You might find the dishes small but trust me, they are not. In the end you get super satisfied. Dishes are differentiated with combinations you would not think about it and the presentation is super.

Very nice dining experience! They have a set menu and there’s not much room to choose but all the dishes amazed me. Super well presented and very tasty! I booked one month before to get a table but it was worth the wait! I would only suggest to be clearer with how the menu works as I was a bit lost when we sat down.

After all recommendations, we managed to reserve a table 2 months ahead. We liked the space and atmosphere. All food is picked freshly out of their garden and presented thoughtfully. The dish with the cod fish and the desert were our favorites. Liked the flexibility to ask if we need 5 or 6 courses during the dinner, not in advance. Staff were caring and knowledgeable. We followed their advice for each drink to match with our dishes. Overall a great experience!

Fantastic restaurant. Not only the food is amazing but the setting, environment and vibe are also great. We had a birthday dinner for two here and we were treated exceptionally well. 80% of the food is grown by themselves and the execution of the dishes is fantastic. Highly recommend!

Each trip to De Kas is a culinary delight. The recent recipient of a Michelin star, they have an attention to detail and appreciation for local ingredients that is unmatched in Amsterdam. They have maintained an uncompromising approach to their food since opening, and the recent recognition from Michelin is in fact long overdue. Each season, the menu changes in order to maintain the quality of dishes made from seasonal ingredients, many of which come from their farm. Dietary restrictions are respected (let them know beforehand), and their vegetarian / vegan substitutions are both delicious and generous. Although they book months in advance, there are occasional cancellations. Truly an unforgettable experience, and one that I hope to repeat often.

Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to around the world! De Kas stands out for delicious and creative "plant for plate" dishes, with a majority of their vegetables being grown around their greenhouses in and outside of Amsterdam. Besides their green Michelin star for sustainable practices, the restaurant also just got a red Michelin star awarded for their exceptional food. We had lunch there and enjoyed every single dish that they served. The service was also very competent, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely come back on my next trip to Amsterdam!

This is a well-known Michelin 1-star restaurant but still super interesting one. This has a concept of greenhouse. Actually you can see the greenhouse right after entering this restaurant and you can see many interesting plants. However, the taste wasn’t like pure food ingredients. Rather it has some strong favours, especially for the first and second dish. And looks like their flavour was influenced by Asian cuisine, such as tempura in impression, and curry sauce in the second dish. Those were a bit too strong for me (salty, if I have to be more specific) where I deducted one star, but it was super hard decision for me. The other ones, I mean the impression, appetiser, main dish, dessert were more than perfect. Generally, I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere there and I am looking forward to visiting here again.

The most incredible and unique culinary experience we’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is set in a greenhouse surrounded by a park, everything was lush, green, and so natural. Staff was amazing, attentive, and timed perfectly. We had a five course meal with oysters and each dish was better than the next. Flavors were robust, dishes plated to perfection, and was a completely curated meal. Absolutely a must in Amsterdam

Really good food and price was actually reasonable! We made a reservation around 3 weeks ago and were looking forward to the dining experience. We were seated in the main dining hall (with the higher ceiling). We ordered the 5-course menu because the sixth meal was goat cheese and we’re not a big fan of. Quantity wise, all meals were pretty small, but with two bags of bread and varieties of appetisers, all were actually plenty after all. Quality wise, the meals were a bit too sweet or salty at times, making them a bit less sophisticated. Service was good and not pretentious. Clients were not too loud, but could be due to the high ceiling. For this quality of food, the price was actually very reasonable!

Great experience! Such a beautiful restaurant, good service, and amazing food. Each course was so unique, so flavorful, and beautifully presented. They were also super accommodating for dietary restrictions and food preferences, making adjustments to dishes for gluten-free requirements and someone that didn’t like fish. Looking forward to coming back in a few months for a new taste on the adjusting menu!

The restaurant placed in a very nice park and the place itself looks amazing. At the entrance you see their greenhouse and on the back yard there are also crops. We ate lunch, the whole 4 dishes. The waiter told us about the restaurant and said we will eat 3 dishes, and at the end he'll ask if we want the 4th dish. It wasn't clear but the 4th dish is the desert which is the 4th line on the menu. The menu itself is not really understandable for a normal foodie. For start he asked us still or sparkling water. Each of us asked different type and we received 2 bottles. At the end we realized we paid almost 4 euros per bottle (which is a glass bottle the fill at the place). I wish it would have been said. We received starters that weren't on the menu, very good. I ordered the oyster and the oyster with steak tartar. It's my first time eating oysters. The regular one which is 4 euros wasn't quite exciting, but the one with the steak tartar (6 euros) was absolutely amazing. The dishes are a festival of tastes in your mouth. They are small but absolutely amazing. The dish with the clams was incredible and the dish with the fish and bacon was amazing. At the end of course we wanted dessert, but we should have take 1 plate for both. The dessert was very special (pumpkin, ginger) and great. We also got small chocolate cakes with patissier cream, very yummy. Hot drinks are expensive for no reason. I ended up with a 67 euros bill (for 1 person) including oysters, dessert and tea. The experience was great, I recommend ✌️

Never expected that I would enjoy eating veggies this much! Great concept of own grown & harvested vegetables 🌱 Downside is that some dishes were slightly too salty. Upon reading the reviews I was kind of worried of receiving bad service, but that was definitely not my case. Attentive and knowledgeable employees. Loved the idea of giving sorbet instead of candies with the bill 🍨 Memorable dishes: first course & main

Best meal iv ever eaten, ingredients are so fresh, pairings are unique, this place is one of a kind. Service is attentive but not over bearing. Everything we ate was incredible. The greenhouse is beautiful. Such a fun space for amazing food. Truly blown away by this place and can’t wait to go back.

The restaurant is very beautiful! They have their own garden where they are grow all their vegetables. Pros: the food is Amazing, truly delicious and unique since most of it is vegetables and most of the dishes are vegetarian and some are vegan. Set menu with lots of food, when finished we where full. You are getting more bites then ordered as complimentary tasting. Prices are fare, around 100euro per person. Service it self is very kind and explaining. Cons: it seems like the restaurant mission 2 times of their employees since we waited really long between each dish.. The coffee was served long after the desert. And wine arrived after first course. The restaurant is loud, lots of people are talking and no music is in place. Toilet are regular and not 100% clean. Charging for water is not reasonable.

De Kas is a treat and a half, with most or all of the produce grown in the on-site greenhouse or nearby farm. The service was excellent, the drinks were super tasty, and most importantly, every single dish prix-fixe dish that came out was better than the last. Absolutely phenomenal food from start to finish. One thing they do that I really loved was that you don’t have to decide on the number of dishes at the beginning. They stop at 5 and ask if you’re still hungry, and are happy to stop or keep going, accordingly. Super thoughtful establishment from top to bottom. Don’t miss it.

Went here for lunch with my family and best friends. Such a welcoming atmosphere and a relaxed vibe. The garden outside the restaurant is amazing - heaps of different produce and flowers. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4-course lunch plus desserts. Booking is a MUST - there were a few customers who couldn't get a table because they didn't have a booking.

Food is exquisite, delicious and best Of all, the ingredients are all biological and fresh 🤩 Every dish is well thought of with amazing flavors and some combinations are quite innovative - not the everyday food you see in some restaurant which you know exactly what to expect from the menu. Ambiance is great for family / couples and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend, my friend is already going to book this restaurant for her anniversary :))

Amazing experience and it is an experience. Fantastic food, absolutely amazing service, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful. It will take you three to four hours for the whole meal, but in that time you will feel well cared for. We had 13 or 14 individual dishes, and while it was a bit pricey, it was worth every euro. We are already making plans for when we can come back. I can't say enough good things, so I'll end with this... If you are debating about trying this out or not, I'll make the decision easy. Go for it, relax and enjoy the experience.

Exceptional restaurant of Amsterdam with a great concept of growing their own veggies. Everything was perfect, the fabulous food, wonderful service, you can even wander around the farm and see how their greens grow. I want to thank the whole team for their fantastic work and not only chefs, but each one employee of the restaurant - hostess, farmers, cleaners, waiters, kitchen staff. Keep up an amazing work

We went back to De Kas to celebrate our wedding anniversary as we got married there. Food is as good as we remembered. Interesting blends of ingredients to surprise you in each dish. Everything organically sourced from their own gardens, otherwise their suppliers including their clothing is as sustainable as ever. Super popular, need to book in advance but totally worth it!

We had a wonderful first experience at De Kas. Amazing ambient and the food was absolutely delicious! The whole experience from receiving little snacks before the first course to super well trained waiters & waitresses made it a perfect dinner. Amazing for vegetarians - all the seasonal veggies & sauces were extremely impressive.

Lovely place. Very cool food design and interesting mix of flavours. The price is well below what they could ask for; for that quality of food and service. Loved every dish:) 70% of the produce is harvested from their own local crops.

Very love the food and chef’s creativity. The taste is amazing and you won’t be able to taste anything like this anywhere else! It was a pleasant experience for me tasting fresh ingredients and enjoying wonderful atmosphere surrounded by edible plants. I could not wait to go back there again for different seasons.

Impeccable dining experience with dishes you’d never think to make at home. Service was friendly and its a nice restaurant to come to with a friend, on a date or with a family member. Each dish was beautifully presented, appealing to the eye as much as the palate. Can’t wait to return again

Definitely something new for me in Amsterdam! De Kas define themselves by stating "picked in the morning, served in the afternoon", which is immediately apparent upon entering their restaurant. Located in a greenhouse style complex within the Frankendael Park, the spacious venue has multiple compartments housing kitchen, bar, dining area and, of course, greenhouses growing fresh food. Offering a pre-selected weekly menu, determined by season and produce available in their facilities, De Kas served a four-course lunch; with optional extras available, such as oysters. You can taste how fresh the food is in each serving, and knowing that the additional time, thought and effort has been specially put into selecting and serving this meal makes the experience particularly unique and enjoyable.

  • 5/5 Daniel S. 5 months ago on Google
The reviews don’t lie. De Kas is a winner. Stepping into the green house is an experience in itself. I can’t speak for when it’s dark but when the light shines through, it’s spectacular. Most of the food literally comes from their own farm and you can taste the freshness in every bite. They have a new menu every week I believe based on the veggies they are growing. The dishes were very refined and balanced. The service was great when we started but started to dwindle as the service went on which was a disappointment. But we are in Amsterdam so I don’t expect good service even at Michelin star restaurants lol. Overall, De Kas should 100% be on your list of places to eat at and make sure to make the resies early!

We dined here for the first time, and what an experience it was! We had the 5 course meal. Everything delicious, and flavors turned up to 11! Lovely service too, good atmosphere, the building it self is impressive, and so is the garden. Extra points for the idea behind De Kas (sustainability & DIY). Our compliments to the - clearly super skilled- chefs, who prepared such refined dishes for us. Can't recommend enough!

Extraordinary fine dining experience for a reasonable price! Vegetables harvested at their own harden, all of the dishes absolutely delicious, inspiring, fresh and hard to forget! The only weak point was the desserts, not really well balanced (the chocolate and wine), too sugary. Overall 10/10! I'm coming back!

  • 5/5 Jeana f. 7 months ago on Google
Best fine dining experience in Amsterdam! Delicious set courses, most of them are naturally vegetarian with the core main being meat (beef for me). Fresh ingredients tastefully put together. A very relaxed environment with waiters in t-shirts but wonderful service nonetheless. Great old fashioned cocktails. Very happy with the no deposit policy.

  • 5/5 May 5 months ago on Google
Really great dining experience. Different kinds of flavors that were not only tasty but also very nicely presented. The steak tartar oyster is a must try! We loved this starter a lot. Everything is either produced in the greenhouse next door of at a nearby farm that they own. And in case they can’t produce it themselves, they source is as sustainable as possible. Such a lovely concept! I will definitely come back!

Absolutely amazing place. We’ve both dined in and had a private family event in the garden room. The food was incredible - the unobvious combination of flavors, fresh ingredients and herbs was just perfect. The interior is minimalistic and cozy with lots of plants - very pleasant. And the staff was very kind and helpful - they all made sure we had a great time. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful place located inside a park, seated inside of a greenhouse. Our first Michelin star experience and it was well worth it. You only have to choose your drink and plates of food start coming at a regular interval. Which have some very interesting ingredient combination, that might not make sense to you until you try it. Everything was super delicious, although personally a bit too salty. We had a 5 course menu, which made us feel just right when we left. Great experience, definitely recommend!

De Kas is one of those special places that delivers a full experience. Located in a beautiful, open building with glass roofs in a large park, you can truly escape the hustle bustle of the city and take a moment to be close to nature. Most of the food is grown on site, and you can take a stroll through the greenhouse and hydroponic gardens while you enjoy your meal. Service was perfect, with a steady supply of delicious bread to soak up the remnants of whatever delicious sauce was on the last dish. Of course, the food itself was also remarkable, balancing sweet and savory in ways I’d never seen. We even tried a Dutch wine at our servers suggestion, and it was fantastic! Who even knew the Dutch made wine? All in all, a special experience and memory I will not soon forget.

A truly special experience. The wonderful people of De Kas floored us with the seven stunning dishes presented to us. Make sure to get the 6 course menu because the dish that you miss when choosing the 5 course is one of the best desserts I've ever tasted. In addition to the quality of the food and the beautiful locale, the service was excellent. When in Amsterdam, do not miss De Kas. I look forward to my next visit!

  • 5/5 Yunting H. 2 years ago on Google
In winter, 50% of the dishes are made with their own produce in the garden, in summer, it is 70%. Wonderful food at a beautiful location. Service was super friendly and attentive. Restaurant is very bright with the high ceiling and glasses. Lovely experience, highly recommended for pure flavors!

Great atmosphere and service. Nice visit to the greenhouse. Creative dishes using only fresh ingredients. Small portions, but with the bread bag and extra oyster as an appetiser I felt satisfied, and didn’t opt for the 6th dish.
