It was great. Came here for dinner and lunch. Great options of two and three courses menu for lunch. Meat was amazing and cooked perfectly. Nice risotto and dessert. Friendly and attentive service. Awful cocktail 😅

Friendly and quick service from waitress Soni! Our bread and butter appetiser was nice. Steaks were great, well prepared and cooked as requested. We had fillet, 10oz sirloins, fillet with gamba and a great mushroom risotto. Side dishes were good too, truffle mac n cheese and fries. Quite reasonable prices for a higher end restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam.

Amazing steaks! The place is big but cosy and the servers are nice. The steak options are vast and the ones I taste were amazing, long time since I hate some steak as good as theses! Prices are up, but for the quality are acceptable. Highly recommend not to order Well Done or you lose a big part of the taste.

We booked CAU for our 1st wedding anniversary as a celebration. We were promptly met and shown to our table. Cristian was very friendly and helpful. We ordered fillet steak and a surf and turf, followed by sticky toffee pudding and apple pie. The food was amazing. The best surf and turf I have ever eaten! If we visit Amsterdam again we will be heading here first! Many Thanks!

Ribeye steak (pictured) was very underdone and tough with a huge line of gristle - it could have passed as a sirloin to some. Espresso martini far too sweet. Prawn starter was nice and my friends fillet steak looked good.

‏The food is very delicious, especially the burger, the salad is great as well as the coleslaw salad, the prices are good, and the staff is very kind and friendly.

Average steak. I wanted medium rare and it came medium cooked. While they offered to change for me, I felt the meat was anyway too dry. Price wise was okay, around 24.50 euros for 3 course meal

We were traveling Europe and were only in Amsterdam a short time. My husband and I were SO thankful we chose this place. It’s been over a year now & we still wonder what on earth is in the truffle mac & cheese that makes it so good. Literally the best we’ve ever had. Everything else was perfect including the service. As two very obvious Americans we felt welcome which I can’t say for every other place we went to in our travels. If we ever find ourselves in Amsterdam again we know we will be back. Please send the Mac & cheese recipe 😭

Food is pretty basic and not that good, the "homemade" bread and butter as a starter is really bad if you are not Dutch, the steaks were not cooked correctly and the sauce with them was not that appetizing. The drinks were expensive for what they are. If you want to lose money go ahead but else it's not worth it, there is way better steak house in Amsterdam.

Food is really good. Staff are friendly and polite. Visited on a busy night and still got seated immediately. It wasn’t rowdy, their cocktails were lovely too. Try this place if you can afford to pay for it over the street food in the area.

There are 500 Argentinian steakhouses in Amsterdam. We ended up at this one due to the high rating and still we were really impressed. The sampler platter was awesome, with great cuts of meat done perfectly and awesome sides. Next time I'm in the mood for steak and in Amsterdam this is where I'll go!

As a group of 10 travelling from the UK for a special birthday we booked at another restaurant (I won't name and shame here) yes we were let down! We walked straight to CAU they were very busy but said give us 30 minutes. We returned and they were ready for us! Amazing food and company, service impending. Thank folks we shall return

Ordered the steak sampler, rib eye was tender and juicy but for other cuts the meat was bit tough. The burger was fav dish it was delicious with tender and juicy patty. For the desserts, sticky toffee pudding and apple pie are good, but cheesecake was hard and the berries sauce was too sour.

Simple starter of chicken wings with chilli and bbq sauce. Main of Fillet steak with pepper sauce and parmesan cheese fries. Steak was cooked to perfection. All served with a smile and in a timely fashion. CAU does Argentinean steaks very well for a fair price. We would visit again.

It was my first time and I loved so much. Service very practical and fast, people very friendly and the meat was delicious. Very nice, really! Its located in the heart of Amsterdam. I recently had the opportunity to dine at Cau Steakhouse, and I ordered the Surf and Turf fillet with Shrimps. I was excited to try this dish, as I love both steak and shrimp. However, I was disappointed with the overall flavor of the meal. The steak was cooked to my liking, but it was underseasoned and lacked flavor. I ended up having to add Tabasco sauce to give it some taste. The shrimp were also bland and just ok. The service at Cau Steakhouse was excellent, and the restaurant was clean with decent ambiance. However, the lackluster food quality outweighed the positives for me. I would not recommend the Surf and Turf fillet with Shrimps at Cau Steakhouse. If you are looking for a truly delicious and flavorful Steak, I suggest trying a different restaurant.

Wow. You will not be disappointed here. The service was great. The food was second to none. I had one of the best steaks in all of Amsterdam.

Central location, goof food. Located 1 minut of Dam Square, with a small outside terrase, we chose this restaurant both for night drink but also for a lunch the next day. The food was very good, the menu has got a lot of beef steaks and not only. The food was perfectly cooked, big portions and delicious. I liked a lot the interior design, with a lot of green, offering a feeling of freshness and good mood. Although the kitchen is open, there was no smell of food inside.

If you look to eat steak and burger, for sure tis is the place you are looking for, amazing meat and amazing chefs, the workers are so nice and smily and trying to help all the time, unfortunately the tables are tiny and stuck in their area which make everything looks small, otherwise I really recommended it, and back one day later to eat in it again .

Located right off the dam 9 square are by the Palace. Friendly staff and fast service. Great for a full meal or a small plate share with a cocktail

We shared the ribeye steak with sides of mushrooms, slaw and corn. Everything was delicious. So good we booked for another evening. The staff were fabulous. A very enjoyable experience. The second time we visited we shared the filet mignon. Our experience mirrored our first visit. Delicious food with very friendly staff

A bit disappointing in the presentation of the steak alone.. 😅 And every side dish you must pay extra.. But great wine selection and the meat was cooked to our wishes, watch out for the spicyness 🤪 Lorenzo our waiter was waiting on our every need!! Keep it up young man 🤘🏻

Excellent steak, salmon was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were nice and the pricing was reasonable, the restaurant is in the middle of Amsterdam so 60€ is not too much. I highly recommend. I was not drunk, unlike all the others, it was King’s day. The best food I’ve ever had in Amsterdam.

Great steak restaurant right in the centre of Amsterdam. I was lucky they had a table for us without reservation. The staff is very kind and polite, the menu has quite a wide offer and the quality is unquestionable. The atmosphere is really enjoyable and the dishes are delicious. One thing I didn't expect was how "empty" the steak dish was: just the steak, no salad, no chips; it was a pity. other than that, I really recommend the side dishes!

Food is excellent, I enjoyed a very tasty steak sandwich, a real steak beef. Prices are excellent compared to the quality food and being in a very expensive tourist spot in the world. Staff is warm and they look into details to improve your experience. Hygiene level is excellent

Although the menu is a little confused, the meat was cooked to absolute perfection. I don't think I've ever had a burger that was so tender. The waiter from Senegal was lovely and very friendly. Recommended break from walking the busy streets.

I had the fillet. It was very tender and tasty. The corn that can be topped is either tasty or spicy, so not suitable for children.

I came here for the steaks, they didn’t disappoint. I order rib eye 220, with salads and grilled corn for the sides with a glass of Argentina red wine the sommelier recommended. The staffs are very nice and the steak was cooked perfectly. The ambience was chic and modern, not too loud, a good mix of tourists and locals, I would come back again. :)
