I was so in love in this museum! I had a huge goospumps because i am a refugee myself and i know how it is to cross seas and seek refuge! and its unbelievable what the dutch Soldiers and citizens had to experience during the german occupation. The service of the museum was also great! We had a friendly german gentleman who gave us a german handout of all sections of the museum! He was really kind.

Museum docmenting those Dutch individuals who risked everything to escape occupation. The museum is located in a former 3rd reich bunker on the beaches of Noordwijk NL. Displays were very well done and very impactful. Definitely worth a stop.

This was an informative and interesting look at a small group of resistance to the German occupation during World War 2. The "Engelandvaarders" who sought to escape to Great Britain and join the allied war effort. The museum is in a German Bunker built during the war. The information is given through the stories of the people known as the Engelandvaarders.

Very small, nicely done museum. But €7 admission is far too much for the few exhibits on display.

Unfortunately everything is in English or Dutch. The staff is very friendly and helpful with reading material in German. Very interesting story to read with lots of information

A wonderful and fitting tribute to the brave Dutch men and women during the 2nd World War. A must-see for world history enthusiasts!

Very interesting museum, with perhaps less of a "historical, objective" look at "what is an England sailor", but rather an often very interesting and personal look at what it was like to be an England sailor. The museum is about real people and what really happened to them. Very impressive. Why not 5 stars then? A lot has been written, but there were quite a few sentences that were confusing, so you had to read it more than once to understand what it was. A bigger problem is that the English translations are poor. "Ausweis" was translated to "work permit". That's a big difference. My English-speaking partner finally gave up on some of the texts. That's a real shame. But despite that, it is still a very interesting museum, especially if you want to know the personal stories behind the history.

Nice little museum about the very courageous and brave sailors from England. England was reached not only by sea but also by various land routes. In any case, we had not realized that and it is well explained.

Good representation of the past war period, but a bit small. For an entrance fee of 7 euros you can get here in just over 20 minutes. Durchbund has seen everything. The tour through all the bunkers would also be interesting, but this is only possible if you book in advance.

World class museum. Fun for English speakers as well. Very well done and a interesting piece of history that I think most world war 2 buffs from outside the region wouldn't know much about, if at all about the brave men and women who sough a chance to fight the Germans by first crossing the north sea in canoes. Insane story.

Friendly and welcoming staff all exhibit have English explanations. The museum is about the Dutch who braved the north sea and Germans to get to England and fight for the liberation of Europe. Many lost their lives in the attempt.

Interesting and little-noticed topic. Some interactive stuff. It would be nice to present an introductory "outline" at the beginning (especially numbers about the number of people, these are of little importance)

Great museum, so many stories, all very impressive. The bravery of these people is just unbelievable. Second time visiting, gained a lot of new insights. Strongly recommend.

Very informative and definitely worth it and fun to play the "escape" game, even as adults. This way everyone is actively looking for the right answers. We were with 3 adult children and found it very fun and interesting. As a resident of Noordwijk I used to play in the bunkers, now we (finally) visit the museum.

The museum offers impressive bilingual stories of the engelandvaarders and their very divers experiences, ranging from a maritime venture in hunger and starvation to someone succeeded in travelling via Finland and Wladivostok, Japan and LA. Very personal and direct. You can also choose your own route, with new difficulties arising with each step. The museum is very oral and text oriented; there are not many objects.

Nice museum with lots of stories and films. The guided tour with tablet is highly recommended for the whole family.
