We had an amazing experience in the meseum with with most pieces displayed discribed in detail their personal history. Really enjoyed the vibe and relaxed browsing. The interactive things also adds to the fun. Overall i would really recommend visitinf this museum if you are remotely interested in ships or ship wrecks. Also looked like an amazing place for kids to play in their faily large childrwn area.

It is a MUST place. I loved it, eventhoug maritime is not my field but I could spend an hour here looking around. You can go inside a life-boat rescue capsule or a boat. Many rubbish found on the shore which was collected and brought into the museum includes a love box which was opened and put out to the viewers. If you have a kid, you can even spend more time, as a playground is there for them, while adults can enjoy the coffeeshop. There is a room with a movie, which is only in Dutch so I could not understand but English was used in descriptions.

This museum is all about telling the story of the beachcombers of Texel. There are loads of things to see and read for all ages. The story touches on all aspects of beachcombing including legal and environmental issues as wel as the sheer joy of finding unique treasures on the beach. I spent a couple of hours here, but felt like there were still more stories to discover in between all the junk.

A great place to see. Makes you wonder, what kind of things people lose in the sea. Good for children, with a playground and a small picnic area. Souvenir shop and a snack bar.

So much more fun than I thought. Just popped in with my son as we needed a break from cycling. But it didn't disappoint, lots of stuff to see, too bad we only had one hour. Only point of criticism is that it would be great to have more info with the objects (if it is available) We're sure visiting again when the Schulpengat bridge is finished.

Fun to visit with kids and lots of interesting facts alongside a playground and relatively versatile food options.

I immediately fell in love with this museum. One of my favorite places on Texel and one of my favorite museums in the world.

Such a lovely time had by the whole family. Who would have thought that so much "stuff" is washed up on the beach? Enjoyed reading about shipwrecks and plane crashes but felt sad for the owners and passengers. The slip slop display from Africa was a link with our continent. The playground is lovely and was well used by our grandchildren. Liked the design of the new exhibition. The whole Beathcomber idea was interesting for young and old. A good place to visit when on Texel Island.
