The ambiance is tranquil and romantic and their terrace is really nice however we had to wait a lot between the dishes and besides de starter which was a really good burrata, I missed flavour in the main (tuna) and in the dessert (cheesecake)

A great spot in Amsterdam to have some breakfast, lunch or dinner. We made a reservation for 3 people on a Sunday evening at 8pm. As expected, it was not busy at all. There were plenty of tables and chairs available. I like the overall vibe of the place. It’s very spacious with the high ceilings and it is very cozy. For dinner I had the “SOFT SHELL CRAB: in tempura with lime mayonnaise and an Asian salad”-starter. It was really good! The crab was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salad provided some freshness to the dish. For mains both of my friends had the “RISOTTO: white wine risotto with mushrooms, parmesan and truffle sauce”. Both dishes were really delicious, everything tasted good and freshly made (although the plates were not completely clean, so we wiped them clean with our napkins). For dessert I had the “Sticky Toffee Ginger Cake with vanilla ice cream”. It was a large dessert for me, the cake was bigger than expected and together with the caramel/toffee sauce, cookie, and vanilla ice cream it’s a lot. It was delicious though! The ginger was definitely present. I will definitely return to this place in the near future! Highly recommended to spend your quality time here.

A pleasant place to enjoy the sunset with delicious food and fine wines in a beautiful weather. Although it wasn't the best month to eat oysters and mussels, they were quite ok. The waiters looking after the service are kind and concerned. The apple pie was ok.

The place is oke, a bit overrated. Not recommend. Had drinks and dinner here with friends. Ordered 5 steaks, all of them okeish. Some staff members are unfriendly but overall they are nice. Inside looks nice, bathrooms are clean, a bit dark though. The deserts look like they bought it, not home made.

Perfect place to enjoy a nice AMSTERDAM day. With a large shaded terrace that allows for you to enjoy the outdoors, but in a covered spot. Recommend eating the mussels, as they are really great here!

Great spot for evening borrel, sun until late, terrace on the Amstel. Very friendly staff. Large space inside for bigger groups.

Real buzzing atmosphere when you arrive. Friendly reception, walk past the amazing bar, the snooker table, then our table was at the back. Really good selection of food and the service was fast Ben though we were a large table. I had pumpkin soup, ribeye and fries and salad then ginger sponge. The soup was hot and had a good kick. The sirloin was medium rare. Next time I would go for medium as it was a bit chewy due to the cut. Some of our table ordered oysters to start. Yum. And whole red label chicken with fries. Great surroundings, ideal for both small and large tables.

The restaurant is located in a very busy area, so one should expect a lot of people in there. We booked the table, which was a good decision. The atmosphere is really nice. I also enjoyed the service. Even though there were so many people, we got enough attention. I tried grilled tuna, which was delicious. A portion was perfect for me, but may be a little small for average people. Apple pie was tiny and with nuts and some berries that I didn’t expect, very sweet.

Food was excellent. The burrata starter with sun dried tomatoes and arugula was delicious. The cod was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the roast vegetables were fork tender. Had a great meal though service was slow to start. Maybe because we had a large group.

Great experience! Had some flavorful burrata with honey, pesto, and pistachio cream, ribeye with frites (the bernaise sauce was incredible!), And cheesecake. Not sure how many of these were from the menu, as it was a dinner related to an event

We've eaten here a few times over the years. On our latest visit we came in for dinner without a reservation at 6pm on a Sunday and were promptly set up at a table across from the bar. The restaurant is quite large with the bar in the center. A very helpful waitstaff will help you with any questions. The fish here is exceptionally fresh and well prepared. The pumpkin soup was deep in flavor and not a "PSL" spice bomb which was greatly appreciated. The mushroom risotto was well prepared, cheesy, creamy and full of mushroom flavor.

Food is good. Service is good. Just too slow to get the food.

Great place to visit. Food was lovely and the outside seating was a delight. Busy and service was slow...ish, but still acceptable. Will return.

Waiting to be seated a d waiting for my coffee that had to order three times cos they took so long / The menu has nothing special just some eggs that you can make in your house with Basic presentation and when I wanted to order the croissant they were no longer left / it took a long time to bring the coffee and they were confused with an order of wine that we had not ordered / it is a place that some people come over just because it is next to The river but coming from Spain that is nothing special for me. Not my place.

Celebrated my one year anniversary with my girlfriend here, we had an amazing night. The food was amazing and the service even better. Can't recommend this establishment enough.

This restaurant stands out due to its exceptionally spacious interior and its extensive menu, making it an ideal choice for large group dinners. The ample seating can comfortably accommodate sizable parties, and the diverse menu ensures that everyone can find something delightful to enjoy. For starters, we indulged in the soft shell crab salad and salmon sashimi (although it seems the latter is no longer on their menu). Both dishes surpassed our expectations, with a special mention of the crab salad. As for the main course, I opted for the steak, and it was enjoyable. Dining in a large group, there was a minor mix-up with some of the steak orders – a few medium-rare ended up well-done and vice versa. Fortunately, my steak was as ordered, and I was quite content with it. One of the staff members was quiet rude when approaching these mistakes and blamimg the client instead of simply apologozing. The dessert stole the show. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of it. The sticky toffee ginger pudding with vanilla ice cream was a burst of flavors, and I would return to the restaurant just for that dessert alone. Despite some minor hiccups with our main courses, our overall experience at de Ysbrekeer was fantastic. The ambiance, attentive staff, and delicious food made for a memorable dinner.
