Two words, Absolutely stunning. The architecture of this church is so beautiful and majestic. Once you enter you’ll find a bunch of candles devoted to the gods. You’ll have to donated 50 cents and offer a candle. Once you enter, you will immediately experience calmness and a positive energy. Everyone is welcome here and that’s the best part.

Absolutely amazing church. Found it by chance and it is definitely the most beautiful in whole of Amsterdam. Totally recommended for both religious and lay people like me loving architecture. Interior is in gothic revival style...

For those who say this is the prettiest church in Amsterdam, I’d have to agree. I’ve been to Amsterdam a number of times and seen many churches here, but De Krijtberg is my favorite. It’s not so old, but the decoration is a feast. Recommended.

It is such a great design externally and internally. The priests are kind. The psalms and the prayers are very calming and good for meditation.

Westerkerk is often recommended as a place to visit due to the Westertoren clock tower that, once climbed, offers aerial views of the Jordaan neighborhood and Prinsengracht. However, with an a fee of €7 to climb the tower and an interior that some may describe as uninspiring, an alternative may be sought. Walk 12 mins towards Singel to find De Krijtberg Kerk - A Roman Catholic church from 1881. De Krijtberg Kerk may not have a clock tower to climb but it's Neo-Gothic interior is far more impressive and dramatic. We were astounded by it's lavish and colourful decor, painted and gilded wood carvings, and many, many statues. Westerkerk pales in comparison. Entry to De Krijtberg Kerk is free, and opening times can be found on it's website krijtberg.nl

Absolutely beautiful photos of St. Krijtberg! Can't wait to attend English mass on Saturday, 5.15pm - will be a wonderful experience, no doubt.

Attended mass while on holiday. Awesome to experience latin and dutch language, although i dont speak either was still able to follow the mass format and respond accordingly. The gregorian chant choir and organ playing was beautiful.

This might be the most beautiful church I’ve been to in Amsterdam. Free to enter, and nice to sit here while contemplating life. ;)

Went to English services on Easter 04/2023 at 5:15 pm. Amazing church and very nice service. Not too crowded, lasted 1 hour (including baptism, confirmation, and first communion of 1 person) Hope to visit again!

As it was Sunday morning mass was being celebated but we could see it was an impressive gothic building and more colourful than other, rather austere, churches we had been to.

Gorgeous. And it is one of the very few churches that are open to public for most of the day. It does have a schedule, though. You can find it on their website.

Amazing example of neo-gothic architecture. Beautiful church with a very welcoming staff. They give amazing tours FOR FREE. No matter your reason or relationship with God or churches, you will feel welcomed. This is indeed a special place worth a visit.

Confession - Saturdays 1600-1700hr. English Mass - Saturdays at 1715hr. A lovely church, providing a quiet respite in the hustle n bustle of City life.

Beautiful church. They have Mass in 3 languages, Latin, Dutch and English. Many mass times. Not really a tourist place as they lock the doors after Mass.

An absolutely beautiful church. It is rare to see the doors open, so go in if you see them ajar! The interior is beautifully colored and reminiscent of the older catholic church near central station, but with much fewer tourists. It's also close to several nice bookstores on the spui.

The stained glass windows are a must-see. Fun fact I’ve lived in Amsterdam for 22 years and have never been here until this day

I came to see the church and got a nosebleed. The staff were so very kind and caring towards me! The church is incredibly ornate and very beautiful as well. I am grateful I was there! You should go see this church even if you aren’t in need of medical help :)

Beautiful church in the centre of Amsterdam. Architecture makes sense at the canals. And inside an oasis of tranquility and colours. You don’t have to be religious to enjoy this. I sometimes just sit there for a while to escape the hectic city centre life
