This is the most beautiful place i've ever visit. Really authentic. I love every achitectures here. Especially the building. I went here with my family with car so i am sorry i dont know how to get here by public transport. Here you can buy a lot of cheap souvenir and also street seafood like calamari etc. This place also provide Photo Studio which have Nederlands traditional costume.

The only ferry service to Marken every 30mins. Lots of tourist onboard but you can just buy the tickets on site. Do note that it is possible to take a bus/car to Marken now. Ferry is no longer the only option

Super easy to buy tickets from Volendam. Ticket office up top or one down near the boarding line. Spacious top level and a lovely little dining room downstairs. Snacks only from the cafe.

To be fair, a bit dull. It's nice to make a boat trip to a peninsula and see how people used to survive the harsh times then. But it seemed to me more like a commercial trip to keep tourists as long as possible in the city of Volendam.

The Rederij Volendam Marken Express is an absolute gem of a maritime experience! From the moment I stepped aboard, I was captivated by the charm and professionalism of this remarkable ferry service. The journey from Volendam to Marken was a true delight, offering breathtaking views of the serene Dutch countryside and the sparkling waters of the Ijsselmeer. The ship itself was immaculate and comfortable, with spacious seating and large windows that allowed you to fully immerse myself in the picturesque surroundings however we took the open seats on the top where we could feel the breeze and see the birds follow us. The crew of the Marken Express was not only skilled and attentive but also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their knowledge of the region and willingness to share stories and insights added a wonderful personal touch to the voyage. The highlight of the trip was the stop in the quaint village of Marken of course. This picturesque island, with its charming wooden houses and cobbled streets, felt like a step back in time. Exploring the village and savoring some traditional Dutch cuisine at the local eateries made the journey even more memorable. The beautiful people of this village/island are lovely and very welcoming. Whether you're a tourist or a local looking for a delightful day out, the Rederij Volendam Marken Express is an experience not to be missed. It offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and warm hospitality. I can't recommend this ferry service enough; it truly made my visit to the Netherlands unforgettable! PRO TIP: Get an iAmsterdam city card and you’ll be able to take this trip (amongst others) for free.

Nice staff and good service. Plan your visit to Volendam & Marken. Check the express times in advance, it goes every 45 minutes.

Very nice ferry service. Quite a supportive and helpful staff. My online tickets and payments were stuck due to which I could not get the tickets on email, the ladies over the counter helped to resolve and issue tickets within 2-3 mins. Really thankful to the entire team. Highly recommended.

Captain John was very friendly and stopped to explain about the lake and the course we would be following. Even though it was a wet September late afternoon he seemed to have time to share his knowledge of the area.

A good and pleasant trip with Captain John who was very friendly and explained about the trip and the course we had to take. He was also very knowledgeable about the area and explained about the fresh water lake and how it had been changed from a sea water environment.

On Friday I met a skipper on the boat by the name of John, he welcomed me into his wheelhouse and made me feel very welcome. I would class this skipper as an asset to the company he works for, he is very knowledgeable of the history of the country and speaks many different languages, what I thought was very impressive from this young man and I do hope that this fella does get recognised for his work. I enjoyed the boat so well thank you

Captain John was the best. He was professional, courteous, and made our ferry trip from Marken to Volendam really fun. We are a family of 7 and he was great with the kids. We truly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend it. Thank you Captain John!

Captain John was really helpful and loaded our bicycles carefully, even though the ferry was busy with a cycle tour group.

Volendam is one of the most beautiful cities in Amsterdam. Small but elegant, romantic but also fancy at the same time. Do not miss it

Amazing views and walks near water. Unique buildings. So many restaurants near by. You can hire bikes or scooters and spend full day here. I recommend spending more than half day here. If you are coming from Amsterdam, don't buy separate ticket, go for Amsterdam and regional day pass. That will cover all Amsterdam and waterland (volendam is in waterland area) for €13.5 something euros. There is some cheese factory near by but we didn't went there.

Boat ride is a must-experience trip. If you're ever visiting Holland Marken will be a great experience. Old authentic wooden fishing houses packed on a small island. The locals that live there endure the hordes of tourists that visit their home everyday.

this is a ferry is mainly for tourists going between Volendam and Marken . the price is more or less reasonable and the boat trip to Marken is actually quite nice..could have been cheaper as the trip is only takes 30 minutes to Marken another lovely little village ...Not too much to see arround with little coffe shops and some restaurants and the famous shoe making factory as you walk away from the harbour.if the weather is nice it can be a pleasant journey but beware if the weather is cold.. you might want to travel under deck :)

Such a great ferry ride! The staff were very excellent and professional. The boat is big and luxurious with lots of angles to get pictures of the harbor/s and bay. It also has a full bar and snacks available at very reasonable prices. A one way ticket with a bike is about 10.50 euro. The whole area is very bike-able, Marken is about 45-60 minutes away from Amsterdam by bike and Volendam is not much farther. What a beautiful country!

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Beautiful place/villege to visit, life may be different/difficult in extreme winters.
