We much enjoyed our 2-night stay at the end of a river cruise. All the staff were super friendly and the breakfast was very good. Great location, maybe 12-15 minute walk from the train station and convenient to pretty much everything. My wife insists that the highlight of our stay were the two cats that have made the hotel lobby their long-time homes. One of them was happy getting petted for minutes on end, and they both got very excited when they heard the treat drawer open. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Amsterdam.

My first time in Amsterdam in my entire life, my girlfriend and I got to the hotel and from the moment we got there to the moment where we checked out, that was the best staying I had in my entire life. Best staff, so helpful and so kind. Wish to come back staying there while visiting again in Amsterdam.

3 night stay at Hotel Clemens was very enjoyable. Kind, helpful staff, good breakfast and coffee, small but nice rooms, good beds and linens. Bike store at the entrance was a good place to rent bikes for the day.

In A Nutshell: -Hotel Clemens is really nice boutique hotel that is a very good, central location in Amsterdam. -Like most boutique hotels in this city, the entrance might be hard to spot. -After entering, you walk up some very narrow, steep stairs. -The reception area & the warm welcome was awesome. -I really like the open layout w/ lot's of natural light. -There are free beverages, coffee & continental breakfast. -The balcony off the reception area is a great place to enjoy the sights & sounds of the city. -I stayed on the top floor & the room was really cozy. -The room had nice, big windows allowing natural light in. -The bathroom was very clean & the bed was comfortable. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

I had such a great stay here. The stairs are insane though! Staff was helpful and offered great service. Even checked me in extra early when I asked if I could store my bags until check in time. I will seek them out next time there. The only complaint was thin walls and some construction going on while I was there. Minor inconvenience for the affordability.

Pors: Central location, super helpful staff. Cute cats at the reception. Free snacks during the day, delicious breakfast. Cons: Very small room compared to the price. I found the bed too soft for my taste. The airco unit is used for the heating, it can be a bit noisy during the night.

Nice boutique hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. The people here were quite receptive and helpful. Nice to see the cats randomly chilling in the lobby. I had a single room (room with a single cot bed) for 1 night. The space was very small and squishy ~13m^2 it felt like in total. For the money I paid, it definitely does not have the bang for the buck. Also, the shower could be a bit more robust. I did not like it here. Since I had a short stay, the location was of prime importance and so it's okay. Hope to change my opinion next time with bigger rooms here.

Much better than I expected for a two-star. The breakfast/coffee area is lovely, with a balcony and all day inclusive coffee. The room is clean, beds very comfy, which is handy after the steep stairs climb, which adds to the charm. Outstanding central position, we walked everywhere except to the airport! Very helpful and polite staff with oergect English, and sweet residential cat Mickael made the stay very homely. I recommend 100%.

The hotel is in a great and central location, you can walk to most of great places in the city. You'll fond the (hotel)reception after lots of stairs but when you get there breathing hardly the staffs and the cute cats there will give you a warm welcome! ;)

Overall, we had a nice stay at Hotel Clemens. The room was comfortable (A/C!), the breakfast was nice and the balcony was lovely for eating. They even let me borrow a bottle opener so I could my beer I got at the nearby Albert Heijn. Like others said, the stairs up to the lobby are tall and *steep*. It's on the 3rd floor of the building and higher, so not for those with mobility issues or bad knees! The WiFi in our room (202) was spotty and unreliable unless we were closer to the door (bed is by the window). Something else I wish I had known beforehand is that there are at least 2 resident cats at the hotel. I am allergic to cats, and while it didn't bother me a ton, I did wake up with a slight reaction in one of my eyes every morning (a little dry and bloodshot). I saw one of the cats wander into a room while it was being cleaned so that is my suspicion of the cause. If you are extremely allergic to cats, maybe this isn't the hotel for you.

The door can be hard to find so keep your eyes open. The stairs are narrow and tall but that’s how buildings are in Amsterdam. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were very accommodating, providing directions and explaining how to use the public transport, and when we had an early flight out of town, they offered to make us a small breakfast before breakfast hours. There is always coffee and tea available all hours. They helped us to carry our suitcases up and down the stairs. The cats are friendly. The rooms to the street can be noisy, but that’s expected in a busy part of town. The balcony is adorable. The rooms are clean.

Nice Boutique Hotel, close to lots of restaurants and shops. Lots of stairs to climb. Room was small but comfortable. Loved the balcony.

Adorable! and cats! Not for you if you need lots of extra space and attention. But if you appreciate historic beauty with cozy comfort, you can't do better.

Tiny cozy rooms. Awesome staff. Stairs are not for the faint of heart.

Room was so small! But they did their best with what they had. I stubbed my toe so many times my toe got messed up during my visit to Amsterdam, oops! The staff was awesome. They were friendly, helpful, inviting. The breakfast was great. They have cats in the lobby which was fun. The lobby itself is nice. The busy street was a semi hostile, loud, etc so next time we'll try to stay on a quieter street... Also construction nearby didn't help, though that's not the hotels fault. The tram for better or worse runs by the hotel every 4 minutes from morning until past midnight. We didn't get great sleep while their because of the tram, sirens, plus construction but we did our best with white noise and earplugs. Pleasant experience besides that.

Best hotel I stayed at on my europe trip. Perfect location. Amazing stuff and common room area. Muschi the cat is everyone’s best friend. Coffee machine was good too. Room had great view and was spacious and clean. Only problem was the 2 flights of VERY steep stairs. No lift!!

Pretty good hotel with a good location, easy access to transport, walking distance to Dam square and many more attractions, lots of beautiful canals nearby, very tasty breakfast, good service, clean rooms and a washroom. The only drawback is the staircase, they are very steep and narrow ,no elevator, so was really difficult to walk down and up especially with bags.

Excellent hotel, especially for the price. Free breakfast and comfortable beds. Host / owner were very welcoming! And the hotel cats were great company during breakfast

This is a beautiful small hotel that is close to everything. It is extremely clean. Breakfast was amazing and the service, staff owners were wonderful. Don’t let the very steep stairs scare you away. They were more to willing help

OK for the price. Small single room, many steep stairs to enter. Very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Cats on premise - a bit weird.

Stay here! Small but very clean rooms. Two cute cats in the lobby. Nice staff. I loved it. Also, the perfect location! Right by Anne Frank house and the Metro, walking distance from everything. I love this hotel!

How wonderful the staff are here, so accommodating and thoughtful, nothing to much trouble to make our stay as pleasant as possible, rooms and reception area (which was very pleasant to sit in) spotless, towels changed and beds made daily, the continental breakfast was lovely and the new Lor coffee machine fab which was available to use foc anytime. The resident cats are super sweet too, to be honest I can not fault this hotel which is rated a 2* but what is offered should be far more. Thankyou for making our stay most welcoming! We were meant to travel to this hotel in 2020, but due to covid restrictions we were unable to attend, the management at this hotel honoured our booking 2 years later...that's the sign of incredible customer service.

Small but clean rooms, comfy bed, helpful staff and decent prices. Other Useful details: - very good location - lots of stairs - two lovely cats in the lobby - tasty breakfast - breakfast area also has a smoke friendly balcony with a nice view. - cleaning lady is very active - shower water could be hotter

Small but clean and very comfortable rooms with decent sized tv on wall which was really good to have. Only downside is the steep steps up to reception then another set to room but absolutely fine if no mobility problems. Staff so nice and friendly and breakfast was adequate and nice. Free coffee or tea any time of day from the machine which was nice. If you like quite at night then ask for room to back of hotel as very busy main road outside and is very noisy. Would recommend this hotel to others

😐 It is a large, somewhat impersonal, completely unshaded and extremely noisy campsite (we were in the tented section).Noisy because there is a large multi-lane bridge nearby, which is still very busy at night. Also noisy because of the "cigarette smokers". There are no rules and regulations - or if t...
