TL;DR: one of my favorite coffee places in the city, really good cappuccinos, espressos, banana bread and croissants! -- Probably one of the best coffee places in the Nieuw-West, IMHO, their oat milk cappuccino is creamy and consistently good, their (always double) espresso is fruity and on point in terms of extraction and the staff is kind and efficient. Also, they have croissants, pain au chocolat and really good banana bread and cakes in general, I really recommend them. Lastly, they have really good variety of beans available as well, so you can buy some and it at home if you want. You can find some lines here and there (especially around 9am), but nothing that ruins your experience. Also, you can go there to work if needed, as they have a good number of tables available for laptop usage and good WiFi connection, but the noise level might not be the best for calls.

Every Sunday, they further elevate their offering with delightful pastries imported from Belgium – a treat that shouldn't be missed. I'd like to emphasize that since my last review, the management has actively responded to feedback. A batch brew is consistently available now, which is a commendable improvement. Kudos to the owner for these positive changes! While their coffee consistently delights, there were moments when the service felt a bit rushed. However, since the new ownership, opening times have significantly improved, and they've brought in an adept team which has enhanced the overall customer experience. The prices, though on the premium side, align with the quality of service and product they offer. In summation, Caffenation Amsterdam undeniably excels on the coffee front. With the recent improvements, I'm optimistic about the growth of their customer experience. I always cherish my time here and am eager to see how the place evolves with its renewed focus on customer satisfaction.

For a self service café where one has to stand in a queue and pick up the order, I don't see why tipping should even be asked. The place is so cozy and has a lot of seating despite my first impression that it was a small place. And the staff makes the coffee experience even better. A definite recommend :)

Really cute and homey space, with the DIY punk feel of indie coffee shops I miss from the US. The cappuccino is great! The space looked small at first, until I went downstairs (which has plenty of natural light, despite being a basement, because of the shop windows right over the wide staircase). I found a cozy seat, and there were also some larger tables, a couch, and a play area for small kids. This is the kind of place that could suit anyone’s taste, I think. It’s fun and spunky, they have WiFi...I’m coming back for sure.

This spot so happened to be on the way as we walk from our hotel to Vondelpark. I had researched it before going to Amsterdam, as we love good coffee. It was an interesting blend used, very nice flavour and the coffee itself was excellently made! The establishment was very vibey, lots of people working, having meetings, getting together with friends ~ giving it a local, hip vibe!
