🇳🇱 Amsterdam is home to really amazing vegan places to eat and Margo's is a prime example of it. It is a strong contender for the best vegan pastry shop in the world, and an absolute must visit if you ever find yourself in Amsterdam. Margo’s is located in the heart of the lovely and quaint neighbourhood of Jordaan. Strolling through the Jordaan on a nice sunny Sunday morning eating through my bag of Margo pastries is a highlight of my Amsterdam weekend trip. Savoury pastries are one my favourite things in the world, no exaggeration, so obviously I had to get the ham and cheese croissant and it was a thing of dreams. The puff pastry looks absolutely beautiful with some of the most well defined layers I’ve seen. And it certainly had a taste to match! Just buttery perfection. No notes ✨ As much as I love savoury pastries there’s no way I was going to leave without some sweet pastries. They had a huge range of pastries, including at least a half dozen different danishes, all with really interesting flavours. After much careful deliberation, I got the key lime pie and the pistachio and rose ones (but I promised myself I’d go back soon to try the tiramisu one!). As with everything else they looked fantastic and tasted even better! The amount choice is almost overwhelming, but honestly I don’t think you can choose wrong from Margo’s. The only wrong choice is to go to Amsterdam and not pay them a visit. I would recommend you try to go early though. The first time I tried to go (2pm on a Tuesday) they were already out of literally everything, and now that I’ve managed to try them, I can definitely understand why. 🌱 Fully Vegan! 🏅 Overall: 10/10🌟 What I had: 🥐 Ham and Cheese Croissant 🌟 🥐 Pistachio and Rose Danish 🥐 Key Lime Pie Danish ⭐️ 🍵 Matcha Oat Latte

Staff is super friendly! We went here to get some vegan Coffee and Sandwich to go. We were welcomed and instantly served. I took a Gingerbread Latte and it tasted really good, while the cheese sandwich was the perfect comfort food for the cold/windy weather. They also got some delicious looking pastrys, if you search for something sweet and vegan. I can highly recommend coming here and grab a Latte or something to eat!

The hype is real and worthy! Margo’s is delicious. Creative decadence that’s vegan and scrumptious. Can’t recommend it enough. The staff are superbly friendly too- I asked the staff to pick out a surprise for me, and boy did they pick a good one- a pistachio rose danish! maybe a surprise is what i’ll ask for everytime from now on! Show up early in the morning if you wanna avoid the line or ensure your fav baked goods is still available.

I love Margo's so much 😍. I think I've racked up about 10 trips so far, so about time I left a review 😂 It's hard to find a decent sandwich in Amsterdam, especially a vegan one. Never mind vegan friendly croissants and pastries. And that's the gap that Margo's fills. I haven't had one sandwich or pastry that I didn't find mouth wateringly delicious. Everything is made fresh on the day and it's served with genuine smiles and warm heart from the owners. Plus, have you ever had a vegan cheese croissant? No? Then get yourself over there pronto because those bad gals sell out fast! My other personal favourites are the Crispy Tofu, or the Caprese sub sandwiches, with a salted tahini cookie on the side. And don't forget to buy a coffee, they are also super tasty 👌 My thanks go our to the team at Margo's for bringing an awesome selection of vegan food to the streets of Amsterdam 🙏. I'll keep coming back for the food, the smiles, and the peaceful decor

Just PERFECT 💙 It was way more perfect than my expectation! Sandwich is the best sandwich I’ve ever had (whether non vegan or vegan)! Really worth it to just go Amsterdam and grab a sandwich for sure. Other bakeries are amazing too. Of course Danish and Pastries are amazing. Often people said some bakeries are hard to make it as vegan but to be honest, here, it tastes better :) Thank you for amazing bakeries! 🍞🥖🥐💛

Hands down the best vegan pastries in town! Food and coffee are both delicious (especially the ham and cheese croissant!) and the staff is always very kind. You can tell everyone here cares a lot about the food they make and the customer experience. Prices are great too!

Absolutely gorgeous and super tasty sandwiches and hot drinks. I loved the chai latte, it was so full of flavour and you got to choose between coconut or oat milk. Tastes amazing with coconut milk. Sandwich’s had loads of lovely sauces and were very filling. Not a huge amount of items in the counter at the time though if you wanted just a snack

I had the crispy sandwich and it was good! The service was also very friendly and welcoming. I had the tahini bun also for take away, it was also tasty! Will definitely go back again :)

From their vegan pastries to their excellent specialty coffee, I have never been disappointed in this vegan bakery no matter how many times I've been! They simply cannot miss. Whether it be their (large) pastry selection, the different plant-based m*lks they offer (2 types of oat, and pea and coconut) or the warm and inviting energy you get from the staff when walking in, Margo's is my favorite and the reason I come to Amsterdam more often than I used to. You guys are great!

So far I’ve only had a decaf coffee here but it was the best decaf I had in while. Service is great and shop and menu look amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest.

It was our first time at Margo's but for sure not the last one. We have tried almost everything - sandwiches, croissants, cookies, ice coffee and it was like a vegan heaven. 🤤 Can't wait to come again. Stay awesome! 🙌

The best vegan eats in Amsterdam! I would move to the Netherlands just to have access to Margo’s pastries & sandwiches. The coffee is amazing and exceptional service too - 10/10 cannot wait to return !! The pastries get a special mention, particularly the tiramisu filled danish !!

A lovely vegan bakery that serves sandwiches, croissants and cookies. I had the 'crispy' sandwich and it was delicious! I also ordered a cheese croissant and it was so tasty. Would recommend it to anyone vegan!

Margo’s has the best vegan croissants I have ever tasted. Especially the ham and cheese croissant is just exceptional. I would take a transatlantic flight back to Amsterdam just for these croissants!

I love the smoked sandwich, so fresh and tasty and also the danish pastry which was flaky and not too sweet. Their latte with pea milk was incredibly smooth. Staff is also very nice and friendly. The shop was busy on Saturday morning which makes it hard to find a spot to sit and enjoy the food. They only have some benches inside and outside. I will go back again and again to try everything on their menu.

Incredible vegan food. Got the ‘BLT’ and the key lime croissant. Still thinking about it. The salted mocha was the best vegan coffee I’ve had in a while. Lovely staff can’t wait to visit again!

Lovely plant-based coffee shop! The coffee was good. I really enjoyed the jasmine tahini latte too. We also tried the pastry and it was really decent. Definitely can recommend as a stop in Jordaan!

Margo’s is the perfect place to go grab a coffee, a GOOD croissant (better than in Paris) and have a nice chat with the staff. Everybody is so nice and kind. The pastry is perfectly made, sweet enough, texture on point! And, the sandwiches…. Oh boy! To die for 🤌🏻🌱🤍 this is our favorite place to go in Amsterdam!

  • 5/5 Ed S. 11 months ago on Google
This place is simply incredible! These are the best pastries I have ever tasted, vegan or nonvegan. Everything tasted absolutely amazing. The cheese croissant is a work of art. Oh, and the coffee is outstanding too. Will be back time and time again :)

Margo's was at the top of my list for places I wanted to check out in Amsterdam and it didn't disappoint! Incredible vegan pastries and tasty coffee. I got the lamented brioche one day and the the fromage croissant the next - both incredible. The staff was also so kind and even remembered me the second day.

This lovely places serves delicious vegan danish and other pastries! Next to this the workers are very friendly and helpful. This place would be perfect for takeaway, cause they have limited sitting places. It’s nice when it’s not busy.

Amazing. A 10/10 experience for vegan or non vegan pastry options! Had the tiramisu and pistachio danishes and they were 👌 along with great coffee and super friendly staff on a quaint Amsterdam street. Couldn't ask for much more.

Great place for vegan lunch sandwiches & coffee. Always very friendly staff, and they’re extremely attentive to details / presentation. Note: they only offer non-dairy milk options, but they’re all delicious (oat, coconut, pea). It’s hard to find a good vegetarian hot sandwich in this city, but Margo’s does it very well. No indoor seating, but they have benches outside and the street is always bustling, so it’s a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee and a pastry on a sunny day.

Croissant croissant croissant. What a great find! We had sandwiches, American cookies and all the croissants. I mean.. . Thank God for these croissants. Just like that one perfect yet very sweet version at Vegabond, Margo's croissants have that beautiful mix of crisp, butter and air. Usually what you can find is bread with a twisted shape. Not these. These are beautiful. O and did I mention the croissants? 😜 Anyway. It's nice to have a quality vegan bakery in the city. Please stay forever :))

Delicious pastries, baked goods, sandwiches and coffee, that you wouldn’t even know are vegan. Cute little corner spot in a quiet area. Would be great to have more spots to sit down and enjoy your food and coffee inside or outside…but understand that space is an issue. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Will be back again 😊

Had to come here, since I'm always on the lookout for vegan pastries. Wasn't disappointed: the tahini bun is really tasty and even more I liked the puff pastry with caramel and hazelnut - simply amazing! The coffee was also one of the best I had during my stay in the city. Would come back anytime!

Margo’s Amazing Croissants—do not miss this bakery Today we discovered an amazing vegan bakery that is fair trade, organic and sustainable. The croissants are so delicious and even a non-vegan would find them irresistible. My spouse and I, who have been vegan since 1991 and 1990 respectively, always search for the perfect croissants and we have found them. They have plain, cheese, and chocolate and we bought every kind. What my spouse especially likes is that the plain ones do not have a sugar glaze on them, but are truly plain. But plain does not mean without flavor. On the contrary, they are flaky and scrumptious. The vanilla danishes are terrific and we bought all the flavors as well. We have yet to eat the others, but if they are anything like the vanilla, they will be hard to stop eating. We are definitely visiting Margo’s again and again. The couple who own the bakery are lovely people and it makes the whole experience even more wonderful.

Lovely place, was there for espresso only. They use Bocca. Little bit too much on the acidity side for me. Really nice people so will be back for the food :-)

The croissants are *AMAZING*!! The service was friendly and kind. Tempeh broodje was perfect and so was the cheese toasti. Probably the best one i ever had!!

I would come here every weekend just for that delicious pistachio rose Danish pastry. Or for that soft chocolate chip cookie. Or both because why not right. Everything is vegan and organic here. And they even have decaf, what more can you possibly ask for?

  • 5/5 Annie L. 1 year ago on Google
What a really lovely cafe and calming space! The pistachio rose danish is so good and the barista was so friendy - I’ll be coming back here regularly to try their other bakery items.

I was amused by the taste of their pastries! Texture, flavor, quality- everything on the highest level! Also a very cute little place with extremely friendly staff:) They sell their own tote bags. I got one and I love it! Very stylish and comfortable to carry + its pretty big in size so it’s perfect for traveling/school/shopping. Cannot wait to come to Amazing to try some more of their pastries!

All I can say is wow, I’m super impressed with how flavorful and delicious the vegan sandwiches & pastries are here! Everything on the menu is 100% plant-based, so it’s a vegan’s dream destination with some of the best sandwiches (and toasties) I’ve ever had. Such a friendly, kind and warm group of people working there too. I’ll definitely be back!

Now then. I've had sandwiches all over the world. From Aruba to Zimbabwe, Peking to the Indies. What I'm trying to say is - I know a good sandwich when I see one. What a sandwich. What a snack. Bravo.

  • 5/5 Max G. 2 years ago on Google
In my global quest to find the best vegan croissant I've finally found it. The croissant was so good we stayed around for more pastries and drinks and everything was phenomenal, also found the best Matcha I've ever had. Highly recommended, wish I could rate higher.
