Well worth the 5 star rating. The food was excellent. My only critique was that they don’t seem to like to tend to solo, female diners.

Delicious meal! The friendly staff was able to seat us quickly, even without a reservation and on a very busy night for them. We had the complimentary roti and sauces that teased our palates for what was to come. We ordered the Chicken Saag and Paneer Saag, which both came with perfectly cooked basmati rice, and the mixed and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely delicious and I would not hesitate to come back again.

We had an amazing experience here, they are used to customers who don't know their spice level so they give a starter to see, then they change the spicy based on your feedback. They were very at tentative and patient while serving, prices are very good as well for what you get

Food was great. I had this Nepalese dish with chicken and my girlfriend had the Dahl makhani. It was very tasty and they know how to balance spiciness with flavour. Their service is really friendly and they always had a tip and were helpful.

The service was kind, the food was delicious, the smells amazing. As soon as our rice was gone, another bowl was brought. We weren’t able to finish our meals and the waiter had no problem with packing it for us for takeout. The food was as spicy as we asked for it to be. 100% recommend!

The absolute best dinner of my life - go ASAP !!! 60e for a 3-courses-menu for 2 people that was wayyyy enough, you’ll just get the perfect pic of spices and textures you’re looking for. The waiters are extremely attentive and kind, will do an extra step to give you a perfect experiences

We got the best seat in the restaurant which was nice (right at the window). Definitely make sure to make a reservation because we watched a bunch of people get turned away. The food was overall very good. I think the paneer itself could’ve been seasoned a bit better but with the curry it was perfect. The portion is a bit small for its price but the service was fast and very friendly too! Id recommend if you’re looking for good Indian food in the city center!!

After my second Amsterdam visit I can safely say, this was the best restaurant I have ever been to in the netherlands. Delicious food, big portions and the right beverages. The staff was also very friendly. I will for sure visit Lumbini Restaurant again.

Great place with delicious Nepalese cuisine. Friendly staff taking care of each single guests which makes visit very special. First time I tried Indian wine, very pleasant one indeed. Food was so delicious that will come back there for sure. In busy hours remember about booking restaurant in advance.

A wondering and authentic Nepalese Restaurant at a wonderful location. The staff is courteous and helped in choosing dishes as per my taste and additionally shared authentic sauces ranging from low spicy to super spicy. The food was amazing and the presentation as well. A worthy experience.

Simply excellent indian food. It's really exactly how it's supposed to be, simple and super tasty. Menu has a very wide selection of dishes and meats, and of course a great selection of vegetarian food. Highly recommended. The Mango Lassi is great.

A great restaurant with very polite and friendly staff. The place is located at the centre of the city and is near to a lot of attractions. The food was amazing. I tried some Nepali as well as Indian cuisines and they were out of this world! Definitely recommended 🙂. I tried their homemade mango and spicy chutneys and they were really amazing a must try! Also good vegetarian options!

Best restaurant I visited in a long time. The food is really great quality. They really know how to use spices. Also because our food took a bit long to prepare we were served an extra appetizer and dish without having to pay for it. So that's really great service. Also the staff is very friendly. Will visit this restaurant again on my hext Amsterdam trip for sure. Thumbs up!

We had an amazing meal Saturday night here!! The food was amazing, we got the mixed chow mein, chicken chaat and the lamb madras curry. All of the food had great flavor and had a unique Indian and Nepalese taste. The portions were large and definitely shareable. The waitstaff was super kind and helpful as well. They accommodated my dairy allergy and gave great food recs. Highly highly recommend coming here

Very nice Indian/Nepali restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is excellent, both quality and quantity. Service is good, all waiters are super friendly and gentle. We’ve been there several times, and for sure we will repeat soon. The place is not fancy but still clean and organized. You must book in advance. They don’t close at midday. A must if you like Indian food.

This is the ultimate place to give your hunt for Indian and Nepalese food, some rest... The food is amazing and while we were enjoying not only the food but we also couldn't help discussing how polite and jovial the staff is.... I would recommend it to every person who wants to taste the spice palette as it is served in its home country.

Best Indian food I’ve every had in a restaurant! Even even the rice was flavored with ghee 😍 and they don’t make the food too sweet. I ordered it very spicy and it was perfectly delightful and actually hot.

Let’s start with the best. The food is amazing and the portions are big (and I can eat a lot). The service is also super attentive. I liked the authentic music but atmosphere could be a bit better. I had a variety of the Nepalese main course with Chicken, Spinach, Lentils. Overall I can highly recommend Lumbini

This place serves the best Indian food in Amsterdam and they offer the best service. Our waiters were very friendly and informative. Everything we ate was delicious! We had butter chicken, garlic naan, a spicy lamb dish and other dishes. 10/10 would recommend this place, and warning! the spicy food is spicy!

As my family may say, I’m a little bit obsessed with Indian food. I eat it frequently, but this is perhaps the best Indian I have ever eaten. The roti, the poppadoms and all the curries we had were incredible. I personally like hurting from spice and this wasn’t that, but it suited as I could enjoy all the dishes there. The staff were attentive and well mannered. Couldn’t fault this place at all and when I’m back in Amsterdam, I’ll be sure to be back here

The most amazing Nepalese food I ever had! Staff was very very nice and I appreciated the suggestions while ordering. I love Indian and Nepalese food and I am always tempted to order a lot of food, but I don’t like to waste it, so suggestions was fundamental. Thanks! Excellent Indian food , good portions at reasonable prices. We had the chicken tikka mashala and the butter chicken both of which were excellent cooked and well flavoured. The cheese Nein was super tasty as well. Highly recommended.

## Food ## - Butter chicken with unlimited white rice is best here 5/5 👌🏼 - Vegetable samosa: 3/5 full of potato and cumin so a bit dry and wrap is full of oil. - Tandoori chicken 3/5 again not as expected. Garnished with moist vegetables( fried onions and cilantro) - vegetable rice 2/5: too oily and includes fried cauliflowers 👎🏼 - Plain Nan: 3/5 was also too oily, I wondered what buttered Nan would look like 🙈 ## Atmosphere ## There is 3 outdoor tables only and many indoors so we have a table by a window which unfortunately does not open. We were a bit annoyed by flies. ## Service ## Very kind waiters but I was upset to know that any leftovers are thrown in trash.

A nice selection of Indian delicacies, the highlight of the restaurant was the friendliness of the staff. Favorite dish of the night was the Chicken Karahi and Prawn Curry

Really nice restaurant serving Nepalese and Indian food. One of the few places where you can get a decent Thali with plenty of vegetarian options. They also serve Nepalese beers which can be hard to find at other restaurants. While we ordered items from the menu, the chef accommodated some of my special requests with the vegetarian options, which was super nice. Do book in advance when you go, it tends to be rather busy especially in evenings and weekends! Overall, very pleased with our experience and would highly recommend.

Amazing indian food next to Rembrant square (above 4,5 is very hard to find). I came here late evening (9pm) and they were still open. Very friendly staff. One of my favourite indian restaurants so far. I think the food is well cooked and is flavourous. The Naam bread, one of the best I ever tried. I went for chicken korma and lamb curry.

Honestly, the best Indian food I ever ate. The meat in the Chicken Saag was so tender and the spices just matched perfectly. What a delight for the tummy and the heart!

Located very centrally close to Rembrandt Plein this cosy Indian and Nepalese Restaurant is very busy in the weekend. Recommended that a booking is made to make sure you get a table. Service is ok and food is tasty& plentiful. I would do this again

Excellent, authentic, very reasonably priced Nepali dining - the momos were delicious! Very attentive service. Lumbini brought back fond memories of dinners in cafes in Kathmandu. Hoping we get to return to Amsterdam and Lumbini Restaurant soon.
