This is a very cool immersive experience of Rembrandt's life, family and work. It's not very long, only about 25 minutes. And there's basically only two rooms to watch the projection experience with their guided narrative. It's your truly a novel way to explorer and experience a master artist's life and work. I wish they could expand upon this, and at more detail, and more rooms in the future.

This experience just opened in the middle of the city center. It shows you the life of Rembrandt in a unique way, taking you on a tour through Amsterdam in his times. If you ever wondered about the man (and family) behind the famous paintings, you can’t miss this place.

A new fantastic way to learn about Rembrandt. It's available in a couple of languages and it's great for groups and families. The whole experience feels really magical. The way the story is being told to you reminded me of the talking portraits from the Harry Potter movies, and as I found out later, that was the inspiration for the place. A friend asked me what did I like the most and I got to say... Martin, and how happy and excited he is to lead you through it. Highly recommend. Don't think about it, just visit it.

Simple and informative . It’s great to have the story narrated to you in comfort seated (unlike a museum). Good break from all the museum walking. Nice and friendly staff too!

In two words: BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE. I was received by Ruben (staff member). He was very kind and profesional. I felt welcome during my stay. The experience itself is awesome, cosy and enjoyable. I learned not just about Rembrandt but the history of the country in the 1600’s. Highly recommended.

I love this kind of experience where you can learn about the history the fun way. We were alone for the tour so we really enjoyed it. The guy at the reception was really nice and friendly. It is a great experience very well made. However it is quite short and I expected to be longer.

Me and my daughter of 9 went to The Rembrandt experience. Its a small tour of approximately 25 minutes. Its was really cool, Rembrandt himself welcomed us and brought us in the first room where the paintings started talking about Rembrandts life. Then we went to the second room and a lantern schowed is more about the golden age and the life Rembrandt was leading. The hole room moved with lots of sound and light effects. We loved it.

What a fantastic experience. I enjoyed the whole show in the two chambers. Every chamber has its own enjoyable facts. I will recommend this to all my friends to go to this experience before they go to the Rijksmuseum. They will understand such more of the life and works of Rembrandt. Specially thanks to the hosts their. They were very nice. See you again in the future, with regards, Timur Dinek

Very nice experience! Especially if you like history, it's a very original way to discover the history of Amsterdam through the filter of the life of Rembrandt! It is very immersive with sounds, smells and of course the videos and projections! We saw it in French and we really enjoyed it, the translation was excellent! Bonus point: the staff is lovely and very welcoming!

From the outside I could not tell what is inside... wow ! Very nice show with attention to detail. You hear Rembrandt talking while watching animations. If you are into history and art go here. Also something very different compared to other attractions.

Being an art/Rembrandt enthusiast or not, Rembrandts Amsterdam is definitely a must see experience when you visit AMS. Amidst the many experiences Amsterdam has to offer, RA is different telling, first of all, a more elaborate story about Rembrandt but above all it is told in a way which fits into this century. The friendly creators were not afraid to use modern techniques like projection mapping combined with scents, music, decor and other cool effects to really bring the story to life. All very well told and directed into a beautiful show experience which will definitely appeal to all audiences!

Exceptionally well-made exhibit, where you learn about Rembrandt and his art from a different point of view. Beautiful visuals paired with fantastic music… it really felt difficult to “go back to 2023”. Absolutely recommend!

Really nice to visit! You get the whole Rembrandt story in a nutshell! Beautifull decor and effects. You get to know a lot of (fun)facts about that time and the master himself and and his family. I really enjoyed it! Nice staff too!

Very nice experience. If the big museums, with a lot of text, are a bit too much, this is a good and informative experience. Sounds, visuals and smells guides you along the story.

The Rembrandt Experience is a fun and informational experience in Amsterdam. If you like art, history and culture this is a joy to go to. I went with 4 teenagers and they really enjoyed the experience. It's interesting, captivating, and educational. They we're mesmerised by the visuals and the great form of story telling. It's just long enough to keep them engaged and entertained. A high recommend!

The Rembrandt experience in Amsterdam was such a delight. They honoured the great master with their 5D experience, showcasing in a story format his incredible works. We were able to understand more of his life and the times and what helped give him his vision. Thank you.

Excellent multimedia/audio experience about Rembrandt life and family in a funny and creative fashion. Available in multiple languages. Must visit when you are in Amsterdam - also included in the Go City ticket bought through GetYourGuide. We listened to it in German and it was super pleasant ♥️ really magic

I was not able to purchase tickets beforehand but goodthing that there are not much crowd so i was able to just buy it on the spot. There are basically 2 rooms, the first room is a bit boring for me, it was more of an introduction, especially on how paints are created, color mixtures, etc. Not really what i was expecting... it was hard to follow who is talking or what is being described because there are like 10 frames and not really being highlighted to direct your attention. the second room was more exciting. Definitely there is the "wow" factor when you see it. The animation comes to life and the feel of the whole room is very enticing, which kinda takes you back in time, which is the whole point. They added some smell factor too. The lady who manages the shop was very friendly and nice. I just wished that they should have more souvenirs that are rembrandt specific. I just find it weird that there are more non-rembrandt specific souvenirs and infact i bought more Van Gogh items from this shop and i havent gotten any rembrandt one. Overall it was okay.

Jacob was very welcoming and knowledgeable about all aspects of Rembrandt's life and work. The experience draws you in to the past and to truly feel as if you are living along side Rembrandt. His life and work are explained so beautifully and simply easy to understand. The creatures have done a fantastic job. Many, many that.🤗

Very fun experience! A look into the life of Rembrandt containing sounds, smells and movements. Fun to do if you'd like to learn more about Rembrandt and his surroundings.

It was overpriced and only lasted 25 minutes but other than that it was great. I liked how you could smell things and the decorations moved that was very cool! The story line was told in a way that made it very interesting and fun to listen. I think this is an attraction more for children I think they would find this way cooler. The guid was also very sweet and funny, great service! I recommend this place if your with family but that’s my experience. Good luck!

A really lovely and creative experience which helped us learn a lot! It was a great bridge between the museum and the Amsterdam experience. It is a great way to inspire those who aren’t sure about getting to know Rembrandts work! Thank you to the wonderful staff as well for making the experience so enjoyable. ☺️

Huge fan of the animation style used here to introduce us to Rembrandt and a little about the history of Amsterdam. It really brought the story of Rembrandt to life. My only small gripe is that the experience was very short - perhaps 15 minutes or thereabouts. I would recommend stopping by if you have any interest at all in Rembrandt. The lady who greeted us and directed us through the rooms was very warm and friendly, so I can’t speak highly enough of the service.

  • 5/5 Tobi L. 5 months ago on Google
Very informative. The set design is amazing!! Immersive experience with accompanying music help tell a comprehensive story. Short enough that you don't get bored. Will recommend.

It was an amazing experience. A really sweet lady at the desk and amazing visuals and story. Before the story starts you get a quick run down about the characters and after it starts you might get lucky (like I was) to get a light shined on you while the characters ask if you'd like a portrait. It's an absolutely amazing experience and I'm so glad I got to experience it before going back home.

Very expensive. We, my friend and I, didn't considered it money well spent. We mostly sat on a bench, locked in a room for about half an hour. Screens shifted images around us while listening to sound effects and story telling. It all seemed quite claustrophobic and a bit confusing, the room is relatively small and it's difficult to grasp it all. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. An overwhelming sensorial trap, to my view. The staff is very friendly, though.

This was an incredible experience! After visiting his first house I was curious to explore more about Rembrandts life. This was a great addition! Very interactive and quite surprising. It was also curious to hear more about his son and wife. Overall, a very worth experience for anyone visit the city!
