Naturally there’s loads of river boat options available and picking the ideal one can be a challenge. But, for a more informal and leisurely experience I can recommend this company. Boarding was immediately opposite the Hermitage Museum and there were enough members of staff present to make it an easy affair. They instantly recognised the ticket purchased in advanced and the boat is small enough to avoid a big rush of people when it comes to boarding. The weather was awful on our trip and although the boat had no cover the seats were lined with protection and ponchos were provided free of charge. There was no microphone on the boat meaning the two guides had to relay the tour description to each end of the boat but fortunately it wasn’t too large to be an issue. The information the two girls provided was interesting, entertaining and educational though, giving a good insight into some of the history and more ‘secret’ aspects of the city. One of the selling points of this cruise was the free drinks and although they were indeed offered, they weren’t as free flowing as perhaps suggested. After the initial can of Heineken it was an awkward case of having to ask for more, helped or hindered by your seating position on the boat. However, for the price, it was a really enjoyable hour. Although the toilets were out of order and the weather made things less than comfortable we had a good time and it’s a fun experience. There’s no doubt many more extensive tours and professionally run operations but they struggle to beat this one for value. Highly recommended from me!

Booked for my girlfriend's birthday, given that we went during almost freezing temperatures we were very glad it was a partially covered boat and served glüewein! Given the time of year and weather the tour was almost private, sharing with just one other group, in my opinion the best way to do it is in a small group as it's that much more intimate. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and was able to answer any questions we had while on the tour, and made us feel comfortable throughout! A must do experience when visiting Amsterdam!

Nice cruise! We caught the boat on the Amstel. We did not have reservations but we got on the next boat which ended up not full, so the ride was comfortable. The captain and the tour guide were very friendly and personable. The tour lasted an hour and you can have beer, wine, or soda. Nice time!

Everything was perfect! The reception, the details about the places we visited and the drinks. I really loved!

After only being in Amsterdam for a day we made sure the boat tour we took was the best, and this was definitely it! The guide was fabulous! She had been giving the tours for over a decade so her knowledge was impeccable, and she was funny too! We also paid the extra €5 to have unlimited drinks - be sure to do this!! We were not prepared for how expensive the drinks were in Amsterdam so this little boat ride was definitely worth the money. My partner and I had 6 drinks between us, so saved around €20 by drinking on the boat instead. The boat is also the best way to get around Amsterdam and see all the main landmarks plus find others you didn't know existed!

Verry nice cruise in little open boat. It’s a great solution, because during the cruise there is no glass between you and Amsterdam ;) the staff is very nice and they are telling interesting thinks during the journey. You can book cruise via internet.

We we’re looking for an open boat tour and found this one. I have taken a couple boat tours in Amsterdam before and this one was by far the best one. Starting at the Amstel and going into the smaller canals i feel like we took an alternative and more interesting route than than the bigger boat companies do. Our kind and charismatic guide Sunil didn’t hold back on telling us the most interesting facts and stories about the city. It was lovely to spend an hour on this boat and learn the rich history of Amsterdam. Definitely recommend!!

Probably the highlight of the day. I was fortunate to have a small group. The boats are not large and the host doesn't need to use a microphone. The seating is campfire style around the host. It's a lot more intimate than most of the tours in Amsterdam. They gave great information, answered any questions, and provided a great service. The unlimited beer was nice too. I enjoyed three Heinekens. I plan to come back in the future to break the most drinks record.

Was on the last tour of the day and it was the highlight of my evening! Sat at the front of the boat against the pillows which was super cozy. Guides were knowledgeable and the whole trip lasted a little over an hour.

Evening departures is the best way to see the city lights and this was one did not disappoint. A wonderful way to start 2024. We were provided blankets and mulled wine which made it so cozy and warm. Not only did we see the highlights of the city, we also learned a lot from our captain and hostess. The young captain was an excellent sailor navigating through the canals and tight corners.

Had an amazing time on the canal cruise with Pepijn and Rob! Very informative and detailed tour. Unlimited drinks on a canal cruise with the history of Amsterdam. It’s a must when in Amsterdam to learn about the history. Some things that you can only see while on the canal cruise.

Fantastic boat tour! We had Felix as our host and Michel as our Captain - both were wonderful and kept us entertained! Beer and wine were readily available and Felix did a good job of keeping us topped up. Highly recommend an evening tour as it was so gorgeous at night 🥰final point to note; if you are worried about the bad weather, don’t be, as there is a Perspex too that goes on the boat :)

Cannot recommend enough! I spent a lot of time in the NL and often book a tour rather than hire my own boat as a way to unwind and always come back to the team at BoatAmsterdam as the service is excellent, very friendly and accommodating. This tour departs in front of Hermitage museum which is near ice bar, opera house, Rembrandt square. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and add humour where possible to the tour and engage with all customers regardless of age or origin. My nephew loved this tour and was his second time.Tour can include unlimited drinks but this is optional, drinks include rose, white wine, beer, coke, Fanta, water, tea, coffee. I just wish I’d written down names of the staff again (apologies).

Nice way to spend an hour on the river. Pepijn and Nico were great. Unlimited drinks for an extra €6 is a pretty good deal too! Thanks guys.

It was my friend and my first time in Amsterdam and I can safely say this is an amazing way to see the sights! Captain Jack was entertaining and so kind! His deckhand Portia was knowledgeable and generous with his wine pours. Would 10/10 recommend to any friends or family coming into town.

A fun way to spend a few hours as part of a big group, hen do or stag do. Choice of drinks is a bit limited (but bottomless). You do actually see a decent amount of Amsterdam. Crucially, there IS a toilet on board!

Updated: went again with a different guide and it was brilliant ! Two stars because it was a reasonably comfy boat that went around nice parts of town and the drinks included works out nice if you have more than a couple. However the tour guide had no vocal projection and so was almost impossible to hear him. And the info he mentioned when I did hear it, was extremely basic. I felt a bit sorry for him, maybe was a trial shift or something but he didn’t seem comfortable in the job. I’ve been on many boat yours over the years and the guides vary hugely in quality. They should have a proper training so they can deliver it well and give consistent info rather than whatever random stuff they think of. I feel terrible to complain but really this was sub standard and some people aren’t suited to these kind of jobs. I’m very sorry as sure he’s a lovely guy but we learned nothing of Amsterdam history. We did however enjoy the cruise and the drinks!

Amazing customer service. I missed our boat, and I was worried that I would have to buy new ones. However, after calling their number, they picked up immediately and offered the same time the next day without any extra charge. The actual boat trip was also enjoyable.

Could of done with more tourists talk about the area but all in all was good vibes and drinks. Every time we ran out of a drink we were topped up

This is a super nice tour with very friendly people knowledgeable of the city history and facts, really enjoyed it, if you take an early tour like we did it almost feel like a private tour. I wanted an open boat an not the big touristic ones, great experience overall

I can't thank the crew (justin and Pim) enough for this awsome tour. I genuinely enjoyed every second of the whole 70 min. I caught the last tour of the day yet the crew and especially Justin were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely Recommend.

Took the Extra Cruise. Rose and the hostess (I don't know how to spell her name) gave a memorable ride. Great story teller as well. Worth the money spent.

Loved this tour. It was an hour long boat ride through the canals. We had a great tour guide which answered questions we hadn't even asked yet but were curious about. There were unlimited drinks including beer, wine, water and sodas. I would 100% recommend this tour if visiting the city.

Excellent boat tour in Amsterdam! One of the best as far as I'm concerned. We enjoyed a lot, a family of three together with our 4 year old daughter. The drinks are included, beer, wine and soda plus coffee, hot chocolate etc. The guide was knowledgeable and very nice with good English. Overall an excellent experience and definitely worth the money. I would recommend to a friend.

Not a horrible experience, but everything about is a pretty standard experience. There is drinks on the boat, but neither the content of the information nor anything else is special in any way.

Me and my partner had the night light show experience we had an absolutely amazing time from the moment we stepped onto the boat the staff were incredibly friendly especially towards my girlfriend who is visually impaired they helped her step on and off the boat we had the best seats right at the back of the boat where no one else decided to sit and we were handed warm blankets and were allowed as much coffee, hot chocolate and mulled wine as we wanted which all was perfect for the atmosphere, the experience was magical for my girlfriend as her sight is incredibly poor the bright lights in the dark actually made it easier for her to see and it left an impression on her that she still talks about a year after we done this because she had truly never experienced anything like this we both had a brilliant time and we would both love to come back to amsterdam just to redo this experience

👍 I really enjoyed this boat tour. Went on at 9pm for 90mins and was able to see the sunset which was a bonus. Most boat tours are similar in Amsterdam but this was slightly more pricey which I was fine to pay for the location of the pickup and drop off point. You can take your own drink on the boat....

👍 I suggest to everyone to try a boat tour. You will explore that part of the city wich is not possible to see by foot or by bicycle. The price is cheap 10 euro for a ride, they do not accept student discount. The trip is almost 1 hour and you can make a plenty of photos in it. It is not very comforta...
