Found this place looking up random excursions in Amsterdam and thought it looks interesting. After completing the game with my brother and partner, it was well worth the bickering, nervousness, and fun. If you're looking for an experience like no other in Amsterdam, this is the place to go.

It was a lovely experience! The game is well-thought and has an appropriate level of difficulty. I strongly recommend and I'm looking forward to take part in games like this in other cities!

We did the 45 mystery and we enjoyed it. Not the most difficult puzzles by escape game standards, but a fun and exciting way to explore the surrounding city and some history besides.

Really enjoyed the fun game organized for us. It was also a good walk across Amsterdam to solve the mystery with some history also added towards it, which gave a unique feeling to the game. Loved it and highly recommend it, as a team building activity or as a fun activity for family and friends

A very fun and memorable experience! Emily and the team did a great job planning a nice route that would let us see the major historic spots and along the way, a lot of unique sites. The puzzles were just the right difficulty, challenging enough but not frustrating. Highly recommend it, especially if you usually feel stifled by a typical tour experience. With the mystery city game, you can take it at your own pace.

Very fun way to discover Amsterdam without a phone. We played as a party of two. One of the locations had a construction site, but it was still manageable to solve the riddle. Definitely looking forward to more mystery city game. Shout out to Ben and all his colleagues for a great time!

Fun activity for a group but way to simple when it comes to solve the puzzle. I was expecting something more complex but everyone managed to finish the challenge way before the given time. I would still recommend it, especially if it is your first time in Amsterdam.

Really well done. The woman at the shop was informed, friendly and very helpful. The puzzles are on the easy side but its just what you need for a nice walking tour of Amsterdam. Great way to see the city.

Great fun. We used these guys for company team building. You can compete in teams or do the challenge together. In the end, we did both Secret Sender (enlightenment themed) and Operation 45 (WWII themed). Both were great and the hosts were amazing. A great way to see some of the bits of Amsterdam you many not normally go to. Planning to do the London one next.

We really enjoyed doing "Mystery Games" in Amsterdam. We loved the fact that we need to play analog & without mobile phones. We were able to discover Amsterdam in a playful way and were also transported to another age at the same time.

The game is really fun, and based on accurate facts from Amsterdam’s history, unlike any other games I’ve played. Lasts about 2 hours which is perfect and really takes you through the main parts of the city. The game is challenging enough but not too difficult either. We played as a group of 3 friends and would really recommend it to other groups, locals or tourists! Thanks Emilie for being a great Game Master !!

We did the tour, one of the riddles was not possible due ti construction around what we were supposed to see. Another one we struggled with but not sure if there was actually anything wrong with it. Generally nice tour, riddles weren't hard, mostly finding things, little deduction. I enjoyed myslef my teenage son played along initially but quickly lost intrest. The game took us to many famous sites.

A really great way to learn a few interesting things about the city, and to explore some of the city's highlights while solving some puzzles. Like a history lesson made fun 😊 As mentioned by some other reviewers the puzzles are fairly easy, but the experience was designed to take you to important parts of the city and make you find important monuments of history - not really to test your puzzle solving. And they did it really well - great experience!

Had a fun afternoon with my boyfriend, it was my birthday present to him. The guy at the shop (Ben) is friendly and explained everything well. What followed was a nice adventure through the city. Hardcore escape room fanatics might find the puzzles a bit on the easier side, but the level was exactly right for walking outside and seeing new sides of the city.

This is such a great way to connect with the city! Operation 45 took us to places we never would have explored on our own, and wove in interesting (and true!) pieces of history into our puzzling. I also really appreciated that they loaned us a local phone to use in case we got stuck - such a nice consideration for international players.

Very nice experience in the heart of Amsterdam. Ben the organiser is extra nice the tour and clues are well done. The tour makes you see differently the key spots of the historical districts of Amsterdam. Available in different languages. Great for families and groups of friends !

Really well-designed outdoors escape room-like challenge. Great balance of learning more about the city's history, moving between historically significant sites, and just good old fun/puzzling. The challenges were also VERY group-friendly, so we didn't get that thing that happens with other escape rooms where two people are solving everything while the rest try to crane their necks to see what's going on. Excellent outdoor group activity that's well-worth the use of a few hours, and a refreshing scavenger hunt/escape room in its own right!

What a great experience with Mystery City in Amsterdam. Emily was an amazing host, the game is good (not too difficult, not too easy) and you get shown around several places in the city, including places you might not go to on your own. We stopped a few times for a beer and nibbles along the way, so we took a bit longer than the 2,5 hours advertised on the site, but Emily ensured us prior, this would be no problem (we started early in the day). Thanks so much! Highly recommend!

We did the Operation 45 game and it was absolutely delightful. It was fun, inventive, and the history was very well-blended with the game itself. I got to see more in-depth aspects to the history of the city and it was very rewarding. Highly recommend it!!!!

The outdoor escape game A Secret Sender was everything I hoped it would be - an excellent blend of mystery, history, fun and relaxation. As there's technically no time limit it lends itself very well to breaks on sunny terraces after completing one or more puzzles. The props provided gave a clear idea of what to do, the puzzles were original and I loved that they used Amsterdam architecture as a keystone (pun intended). All in all it was the perfect adventure and I look forward to any further games Mystery City produce!

Really great experience, we had such a good time exploring the city and best of all it takes you through parts of Amsterdam you wouldn't necessarily go to without. The staff were great help and had a good laugh, especially the young woman who greeted us and gave an immersive intro into the story, helped the whole time and directed us when needed! Overall great time and would definitely recommend even if you have been to Amsterdam and think you've seen it all, these games show you the parts you almost definitely missed.

This was SO much fun - one of our favourite things we did whilst in Amsterdam, wish they had these in every city ! A perfect way to explore a place whilst solving puzzles and feeling extremely satisfied every time a lock was unlocked ! Would recommend to anyone! It took us a little longer than expected but I think that’s more because we are useless with maps :)

Hi, Thank you for this wonderful experience. We had a very pleasant diamond operation with Teresa as GM. After our success, she gave us precious tourist activities/advices to do and was very friendly. We booked the second mission ( The secret sender) and it was very cool as well thanks to Ben and Emilie. They were also very friendly and open for a quick tchat. Wish you the best and see you soon in Paris !

Very nice experience to discover the city differently and at your own pace. A bit more diversity and a bit more places to discover would have been perfect.

👍👍 Playing their new escape room "The Alchemist" was a great experience. The difficulty of the puzzles builds up in a challenging, but still enjoyable way. Also, the puzzles are well thought through, all suiting the story nicely, and they are of good quality. Lastly, the staff's acting, from start to f...

👍👍 My wife and I did this experience together on our honeymoon as we are both big fans of escape rooms. The similarities are that you will be solving puzzles throughout but inste...

😠 Please don't go here. Worst gamemaster ever. The game depends on communicating with the gamemaster, but he responded late to every text, wasting your time. Also, the whole storyline is in Dutch, while they clearly state the room is in English. Another weird thing happened with a key. The key was pl...
