Great big store with lots of variety of products. Brought my dog Ringo for his first ever trim. He really needed it as his coat had become matted. Groomers were very friendly, patient and understanding. They allowed myself and my daughter to stay in the salon to watch and help Ringo stay calm. He can be a nervous pup at times. When he seemed content and calm I left the salon so as the groomers have more space to work in. Naturally he became a little anxious when we left but when we returned he was happy and there was no sign of any drama. For the record; the person who commented in this review section about the dog getting hit hard on the snout, is referring to my dog and has blown the situation way out of proportion. Indeed during the session Ringo got a bit scared (when I left the room) and he showed his teeth and snapped at the groomer who quite rightly disciplined him with a tap on the snout and not a violent act as the lady in the previous review suggested. We and my dog Ringo are very pleased with the result and he's happy, handsome and ready for the summer! Thank you Enrico and Mila, great job! Only thing I didn't really appreciate was that lady waiting outside the store and interrupting me whilst I was on a phone call and continued to follow myself and my daughter and pup down the street to exclaim what she thought had happened. She may have had good intentions, but blew the situation waaaay out of proportion. So I can only say, if you want to give your dog a great cut, this is the place to go!!

Such a great service : ) always with a smile and kindness. I love walking around with my daughters in this magical palace for animals. I have both there a bag (Jack & Vanilla Carrier Bag Kangaroo) to carry my puppy and I am so pleased from it (its the most comfy, the puppy falls a sleep immediately in it) and after two months when it got broken, I came to the shop and they ordered a new bag for me. A wonderful adventure being in this magnificent shop. Thank you for being there for us, pet owners : ) I truly recommend and looking forward experiencing the trim salon in the shop as well : )

One of the staff member was so rude! I bought some treats for my dog but I was overcharged. The price tag on the shelve was 20% lower. When I saw the receipt and politely asked the person on the counter to cancel the product, then the girl started speaking rudely to me. She said that she can't give me my money back even though the law clearly states that they have to give me my money back in this situation. Eventually she did while rudely replying that she doesn't have time to argue with me over this. Obviously she didn't have time, because she clearly needs to do her job properly and change all the price tags to the products to reflect the right price. Especially the ones that are 1 meter away from her. A free advice to the shop owner: Please invest in teaching your employees to read properly, or get them the right insurance that can help them buy proper reading glasses. They might not be able help improve their intelligence, but still might help them in seeing things differently.

As a regular here, I can undoubtedly say that this petshop/grooming salon is by far the best in Amsterdam. The shop is well-equipped with a wide assortment of products of top quality. There are several reasons I do recommend this shop: 1. The owner works with a very strong sense of responsibility for animals. She truly cares for animal wellbeing and finds it highly important that animals have a right to access to good nutrition and care. That’s why she carefully selects quality products, not just cheap, unhealthy ones. These products can be purchased at affordable prices. Even if the shop does not have what you’re looking for due to limited space, you can place an order through the owner and she will help with the speedy delivery. 2. The owner is very skilled at dog grooming. I’m always satisfied not only with her grooming skills but also the way she treats my dog. She is never forceful and waits for her customer to feel comfortable. My dog has always enjoyed her care and he now loves her so much. You will feel the difference once you see how your furry animal reacts once you pick him/her up. 3. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable. You don’t have to hesitate to ask her any questions about your dog. She will happily answer them and try to help you. I have been to many petshops in Amsterdam but nowhere else was I more satisfied than with here. I definitely recommend a visit to this amazing place and hope you feel the same as I do!

Very friendly and amazing people, 100% totally recommend!! If you have a dog that afraid or doesn't trust people I would never ever recommend anybody else than them. They managed to cut my dog's nails with a lot of patience, love and very carefully. Definently will go back!!!! They made a very scary experience to my dog and me into a good one. I'm very relieved now that I met them!

Very professional and kind groomers. They have a lot of knowledge and patience with the dogs. With my anxious rescue dog they were the sweetest and now he looks beautiful again.

I love this pet store! No only y do they have a variety of products from treats, to animal accessories, clothing, food etc but everyone working these is very helpful and knowledgeable. Nicole suggested I try a probiotic for my puppy who was having some stool issues and it worked like magic! I was so impressed and grateful

Nicole is an amazing person and professional. From day 1, our dog (standard poodle) joined our family Nicole was there to help us with everything. From food, toys but also making our little one be comfortable with the grooming experience. Our dog is 9 months old now and he is in love when we are at the store even for saying a quick hello. If you are around don’t miss to pay a visit. 💙🐩

This shop is good. The owners are friendly, they have so many dogs and a cat strolling around the shop. Unfortunately many products are often out of stock. They Try to help but the order never comes so you end up changing your preference and you are forced to try something new. Now that the shop is bigger, the problem is still there :-( overall a good shop.

Had a very friendly experience at Dierenwinkel with the new owner! We needed just two of our pup’s nails trimmed and she was so gentle that our usually sensitive pup didn’t seem to mind at all. Then to top it off, she didn’t charge us as she said it just took a moment and wanted to gift the nail trimming. All in all a great experience and am excited that the local pet store has had such a wonderful management change!

Best petstore in town. My dogs all three of them are always so mad if the store is closed. Because they have a big snack arrangement, groomingservice and most of all the nicest staff.
