My uncle was a patient at this hospital 2 months ago and I would say that the service is excellent. Nurses and very friendly and caring, if there are staff who are “no-so-friendly”, we did not meet them. Meeting the doctors is one of the challenges, and I think, it goes with any other hospitals as well, but nurses at Kindred helped us connect with my uncles care providers and we greatly appreciate the efforts nurses had shown to us. I would highly recommend this hospital.

They saved my husband's life. He came in with Sepsis Pneumonia. The whole staff, from the doctors, to the nurses, to the administrative personnel did an outstanding job. They kept us informed on his progress, and took the time to explain all the procedures they were doing. Thank you, Kindred Hospital ♥️ Rodney & Vickey Salas

We are grateful to the staff, nurses and doctors who took care of my 93 year old father who was critically ill. Everyone treated my father and our whole extended family with respect and dignity during the whole process through the very end. We are thankful we picked Kindred Hospital- La Mirada.

I want to thank the Kindred staff for taking care of my grandmother especially the nurses who put up with her confusion and making sure she is safe. The family conferences really helped our family understand her medical condition. It was tough that she was in the hospital during COVID because we cannot be beside her but the video calls somehow alleviate our worries, we know she was in good hands. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us but we know Kindred did their absolute best to keep her comfortable.

Kindred La Mirada cared for my father for post covid . Kindred helped him get back to normal by great care and attention during this rough time . I'm grateful that my dad was put in this facility because everyone there was good and nice. Analiza the patient family advocate was such a great help on guiding us through everything. Moses the respiratory director was excellent with putting my dad in the best hands for his needs . Richard and Maria physical therapists were great at doing what they do. Richard is one of my dad's favorite in the facility.

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. I had a loved one sent here for rehab services…while in care of this place he got worse. He got so worse I had to demand 911 be called to get him out. When he was first admitted no one gave a treatment plan or plan of action, as in what services will be rendered while here. It took me speaking to the Dr. and asking a million questions for the Doctor to have an attitude and say I was not satisfied with the care he was giving. First, I never said that, why get upset because I am asking questions. I was then directed to the Director of Case Management who tried to calm me by reading what was in his chart, still not providing solid answers. Only to say he needed to be seen by two doctors that were not available to patients. I contacted an outside ER who gave me great advice on what to do. I also contacted the two doctors he needed to see who’s staff informed me that the doctor has privileges at Kindred, and I would just need to request him to be seen. Once I contacted the Director of Case Management to ask that transportation be provided so he could go see the other doctor, she refused, she let me know that it would need to be done at discharge. I let her know that legally his spot can be held for 24hrs and they could provide transportation, she still refused. I asked why, she kept reading his chart to me, after me insisting she said she would make the necessary arrangements. That never happened as I had to go and have him removed from here as he was left in bad shape. There were no available nurses, head nurse anyone that could help, I was told the nurse was at lunch. After getting so upset and saying I would call 911 myself, finally a nurse he had previously came to check on him and got the head nurse to finally make some movements. Once removed and sent to the ER he finally received proper care. I DO NOT recommend this place at all.

I walked into emergency at another facility and was sent to kindred for rehabilitation. The doctor are very good, the physical therapist department is good. The issues are nursing, method of room mates selecting and room origination. Nursing due to the fact the hospital nursing staff is on a rotation you almost never see the same nurse twice. The issues with this that each nurse does things different and the staff never get in a routine with its patients. I was on feeding tube and one nurse did not know how to use the feeding machine proper. She set up the bottom and has machine on but it took over 5 hour for one feeding. Since I was to be feed every 4 hours some feeding were missed. How I knew I was not being fed I marked the bottle and it never went down. The same nurse forgot to turn on the valve once she got help into correcting the machine but forgot to turn on the valve on the tube. That popped the plug in the feeding tube hose and the hole bed, myself got soaked. My feeding was scheduled every 4 hours which means one of my feeding were scheduled for 2 am. I reminded the nurse assigned to my self for that evening, she stated she was not going to feed me in said yes you are, I cannot lose more weight. I got up paged her at 0245 to remind her feed at 0315. There were other issues with there system like anti blood clotting shot stopping. Doctors stating I can walk around and staff not liking it, to just going to the bathroom. I would go out side in wheel chair been going out for days. On one of my outing my newly assigned nurse got up sit stopping me. I asked her if there a problem she said I was not belted in chair so I belted myself. She said it’s policy I thanked her, afterward I notice all the wheel chair do not have belts. Having patients inter mixed in the same room is questionable. While I was there is seen 4 patients pass, god bless them. But it places yourself in a state of mine not well. During this stay a patient had to be on Kidney machine. That a 8 plus hour operation with hose running across the floor , occupy the bath room for over 8 hours. The closest bath room public was the other end of the facility. Each time you have to go to your room bathroom you had to remove the soil linen. They keep the soil line in front of the toilet. They wanted my to us a walker, it was great training out these items to go. Yes call the nurse them that a 30 minutes hold it in time. The cleaning staff done a good job washing down the walls , floors, removing the curtains getting room ready for another patient. Placing new or clean curtains cleaning bedding and all. I was told by my lead doctor that I could go home. 8 days afterward the hospital was not ready for me to check out. First they said I needed a vacuum machine suck on machine and lung treatment machine. I purchased these machines, I ask for a letter stating that it’s required, No letter was given. Then they would not check me out because one doctor written that home care should be provided. I insurance doesn’t over such care, so I had the hospital train my wife on doctor orders. On day 7 they would not check me out. I also order food for feeding tube all delivered to home. Every day the lead doctor would say you did go yet and that he would talk to the other doctors. We just left the facility the hospital had me sign a wavier. The hospital did not help us out of the facility. Did not Give us follow up ( yes I get messages on phone ) I signed papers requesting records copies. Today over 30 days afterward no records have been received. The nursing staff have the right Hart, quality control and methods are of issue. The rotation of nursing staff causes a lot of problems. After all patients are what they are there for.

One of our clients was admitted was admitted at Kindred La Mirada. I would say the facility is clean and the front desk personnel is very friendly. Our client was well cared for. The Patient Advocate provided us with updates regularly. I’ve seen nurses helping each other. I recommend this hospital.

My grandmother was admitted at this hospital about 3 months ago and although it’s been a while now, I still want to say some good things about this place. When I first visited my Nana, I’ve noticed the friendliness of the staff, they all greeted me as I walked in the hallway. When I got inside my Nana’s room, the nurse was there, talking to my Nana who, at that time was just staring at the nurse. I saw the kindness and compassion of that nurse. My Nana was well taken cared off at Kindred. I met Dr. Nguyen who was her doctor and he was very kind and was able to explain to me what my Nana’s current medical condition was at that time. The case managers assisted us every step of the way until we took my Nana home. But sad to say, she passed away 3 weeks ago. We were able to spend time with her during her last days. Our family is so grateful to all the staff including the doctors at Kindred La Mirada.

😠 I wanted to come in to get tested for strep. They said I had to pay for a virtual visit and if the doctor suspected strep I would also have to pay for an in person visit. There was no possibility to go in person right away, even though strep requires in person testing. In the virtual visit, Dr Dalpr...
