    I gave one star, but that is only because zero was not an option. Prospect Medical's lack of competence is rivaled by their arrogance. They denied a cancer treatment requested by my wife's multiple myeloma oncologist, via a form letter. Evidently, Prospect Medical believes they know how to treat multiple myeloma better than one of the premier specialist. In the denial letter, Prospect Medical claimed my wife needed to try other types of treatments first. My wife had treatments in each of the categories they listed in their denial letter and even with varying potencies to try to find the most effective treatment. The treatments were all done over the past 9 months. When you try to find who you can talk to regarding the denial, they do not allow you to talk with anyone. They just deny treatment and you can not talk with or appeal it. We ended up with Prospect Medical due to some purchase of our medical group. Since the change the level of service we received is horrendous. If you are given a choice, get as far away from Prospect Medical as you can.

    Every Thing about this medical provider is negative. Simple referrals take several weeks and many phone calls, emergency referrals take days, supervisors don’t return phone calls. The doctors in the network are indifferent with low or negative reviews. It’s stressful negotiating this medical group to get quality care. I will be changing to a better quality provider.

    Reading the other reviews I should of read it before I signed up with this group, prospect Medical. The worst medical experience that I had in my life, I just wanted to share the latest experience that I have had with this company which resulted of me canceling my contract with them as of end of this month. My primary DR ask for a referral for a specialist, after three weeks I called them up for a status, she told me that it was approved and gave me the DR name and the phone number, so I called them up to find out that they don’t take Prospect !! , so I called prospect back and I told them about it she said she will send a second request and it should take 24-72 hours, so I called them back after three days she told me that she got a another doctor for me and she gave me the information, so I called the new doctor to find out that the office number that they gave me doesn’t have any doctor with the doctor name that they gave me. This was very frustrating and I knew at the point that this was it with this group since this experience it was not the first and I knew it was not going to be the last.the life is too short just to deal with this kind of unresponsible company.

    My prospect medical group was canceled in February of this year. I went to a physician , received three referrals, they have got approved. Only through calling Medicare they told me months later in June, that my prospect account was terminated for some reason. When I called them to explain my urological issue, I couldn’t even get through a sentence when an agent yelled at me, and told me that I shouldn’t talk that I used strictly medical terms.

    I have Health Net insurance - Prospect Medical Group. Prospect Medical Group providers' location information were never correct. Addresses could be listed in Irvine but actual physicians' offices are located in other cities as far as over an hour away from Irvine. It seems like they were not able to get good, quality, board certified physicians on their plan in Irvine, Tustin, Lake Forest areas. Also, some of these physicians don't even take Prospect Medical Group anymore but they were still listed under them. One physician office said the doctor himself has contacted the director at Prospect Medical Group to stop sending referrals to his office but they keep sending it!!! Representatives on the phone were nice but nothing is done correctly. The data base was poorly managed at Prospect Medical Group! The staff at my primary doctor office said the same thing It wasted lots of our time to get referral that are nearby and qualified/board certified physicians.

    I'm giving this group 2 stars instead of one because the agents have always been kind and helpful. But the company itself is awful. I tried to get a portable oxygen concentrator for my mom. Medicare approved it, but Prospect denied the claim over and over again. I finally decided to change groups, which is a nightmare in itself. And, I'm filing a grievance. What a horrible company.

    Terrible medical group. It seems like the doctors thru this group do not have good reviews. They keep messing up referrals with incorrect information and numbers, or, they don't approve them. One referral they gave me was for a facility for physical therapy that's over 60 miles from my house! There are many, many facilities close by, but my guess is that they only contract with cheap facilities. Will never sign up for this group again.

    Worst medical group I’ve ever experienced. They consistently drop the ball on providing proper care. I waited almost 4 months to have a proper diagnosis after the first few doctors told me nothing was wrong. This company needs to be shut down by BBB

    If i could rate this a zero I would. Ive Delt with them the past 6 months and theyre nothing but issues and ive still got no where with them. I filed a grievance against them as well as took it up to the Department of Managed Health Care and the crazy part about this is after all that they still gave me the wrong referral. No one has a clue of what their doing. Multiple referrals that I needed were sent in as STAT from my PCP and specialists and were denied by them. Anyone you talk to at the customer service line sounds extremely upset or confused. If you can go anywhere else id highly recommend you do. Just a truly awful company

    Rate is a zero. Took 2 weeks to get a CPAP machine authorized to order. I still dont have it. Not good. Talk about confusion, blue shield does not even understand how prospect works. Guess it is primecare but managed by prospect. Next thing you know it will be larry company, managing prospect, that manages primecare and God only knows who one would call then. Capitalism in healthcare is awful, they hope you die before you get the service you need or just give up so it will not cost their bottomline.

    Do yourself a favor and avoid Prospect at all costs. Even the primary care doctor, who took my appointment out of empathy because I am in excruciating pain, told me that Prospect takes at least a month to come through. I have been unable to get the referrals I need and still suffering in sickness.

    We are an urology practice treating cancer patients, and can never get a representative at the PCP office to call us back or at the referral department at Prospect, we can not even get a call from Corporate.

    Absolutely horrible medical group. Customer service is a joke. Supervisors refuse to take calls. Specifically Steve. Convienently do not receive portal messages from PCP or specialists. I have to call and be middle man to get any referral processed. Have contracts with specialists with no new patients accepted. They have no urgent cares for my children anywhere near me. Can not wait to get out from under this horrible medical provider!

    Horrible IPA ( prospect and AMVI) same. Staff are rude and have racism attitude . If you want to live, never choose those IPA. It is worth 0 star. Dear Pros/ amvi: if you are lack of staff, let hire. If not, spend time training them to know how to listen to the customers. Train them to understand icd, cpt and train them understand how to answer phone.

    Never have had a problem with Prospect Medical. All the customer service representatives have been very nice and knowledgeable.
