Anaheim Coves Trail

👍👍 Great trail! A clean, safe paved, nicely 3-mile trail running parallel to the Santa Ana River. I saw some runners and walkers along the way. People often mention trail, walk, paved, water, path, Santa, River,

Easy out-and-back that’s paved for both walkers/runners and cyclists. Parking is free and located past the driving range parking lot. The trail is about 3 miles from end to end. There were a few alternate paths you could take that were made of compact dirt, but the path is primarily asphalt. The trail meanders around the reservoir, and we did notice that there were some cyclist paths on the other side of where we were. There are a few benches if you needed to sit and small spaces for exercisers. There’s apparently an app you could use as part of the fitness trail. Bathrooms are available at both ends of the trail, and were very clean. There was a good amount of people, but it wasn’t as crowded as I was expecting. This is a good path for families and small kids/babies in strollers could be taken on the trail. Overall, a very easy way to take a leisurely walk/easy run and get some sunshine.

This is a great place to walk with a view of the water. Not crowded and easy to find. I plan to walk here regularly. Highly recommend!

A paved, nicely designed and manicured 3-mile trail running parallel to the Santa Ana River. Or what was the Santa Ana River; it’s dried up now, in this area, apart from a couple of ponds along the edge. It was quite warm the two days I walked it, but cool enough if you got there mid morning. Not at all crowded.

This trail is gorgeous. So peaceful and scenic. Nice river running through the freeways. Lots of people bird watching and walking through the paved trail. The paved trail is really well-maintained.

Great park for walkers joggers runners bicycles . It's a fast trail, with little up or down hills. Two parking areas, one by golf area , small will lit a restroom, but will lock up after sunset (ball st) the other is on rio vista where you can easily park all day. Trail can be 2.5 to 3 miles for a full circle along the water canal or if you travel north to glassell or 91 freeway you can make it into a 5 to 6 mile adventure. Sunset activities are great, many people on the trails . Relaxing and soothing times. One thing that can be annoying, would be the mosquitoes that are along water line...

Short paved trail for biking, boarding, skating, running and walking. It’s a good use of land for a quick workout or a slow mesmerizing nature walk! There’s local wildlife with signage to be seen along the way. I most enjoy this pathway on an overcast day, as there’s no shade-cover. It can be a stand-alone experience, with designated parking and restrooms at both ends. It can also be part of a Santa Ana River side passage, along with the longer Santa Ana River bike path. There’s some small areas to rest with seating and trash containers. Dog stations are provided for pet owners. Fair warning at the curves for users to exercise caution with fast moving bicycles, as I’ve had near collisions with users on foot as well as dogs on leashes, extended out over the line! Access is between East Ball Road at S Phoenix Club Drive and Lincoln Blvd. There’s also a mid-point entrance along South Rio Vista Street.

Many endangered species located within this Park. Please be careful to stay on the trail and take care of this sensitive and alive habitat.

Nice path but probably not worth a long drive to try it. There was parking near the start of the trail but I had the only car there, so not positive it was allowed. The trail is a concrete path with a mesh fence between the trail and the water. Quite a few people out there with their dogs. Lots of interesting plants along the path. I saw a duck and a squirrel.

Pros: flat, easy loop trail, doesn't seem to get busy. Cons: I don't think there's restrooms, mostly looking at a fence that encircles the water basin(?).

Cute little walk. It was flat and well maintained. Good for a walk with an animal or person who doesn’t like hiking. There was a bit of trash here and there, as well the trail is not an obvious loop. You have to go around a fence to make the walk circular. There were lots of water birds and squirrels which is always a welcomed treat.

Easy, flat trail with both paved and unpaved options, located along the Santa Ana River between Ball Road and Lincoln Avenue. It is a pity that due to the overgrown vegetation around the trail, the lake with its abundance of waterfowl cannot be seen at all. But maybe it's just to protect the birds.
