😠 Went there on a field trip with my daughters school. The staff were unhelpful, rude and dismissive. There was trash everywhere. There were literal garbage cans, knocked down in the kids play area with food on the floor that nobody picked up prior. The play room was not that clean and nobody thought... Went there on a field trip with my daughters school. The staff were unhelpful, rude and dismissive. There was trash everywhere. There were literal garbage cans, knocked down in the kids play area with food on the floor that nobody picked up prior. The play room was not that clean and nobody thought to put the AC on even though the thermostat said that it was 79° in the room with children but nobody could be bothered to check to see how they were doing. Even though there was a woman at her desk close by and she made sure to have the air on herself so she wasn’t hot. When the field trip was finally done and we were headed back. The woman who is in charge who I’m assuming is the coordinator went up to the teacher and accused her of stealing, refreshments and snacks for another school even though we had no idea what she was talking about. Very unprofessional ,the price to get in is not a lot but your money is better suited elsewhere.

This is a cute little place to bring kids. Ours were running around the place and loved it. A few parts were closed when we went and I wish we'd known in advance. There is a playground to help the kids run off any residual energy when you're done with the museum.

I love going here because it's a nice indoor play area for hot days. I think the "science" room could use some work.. It seems pretty empty with only a small vertical wind tunnel and an electric arc in the corner.. But it's still nice to have a place for my kids to run around with other kids. With the annual membership, got don't have to pay each time. So if your go more than twice it totally becomes worth it.

You can rent for $150, you have full access to kitchen, to the grounds at the museum and kids play areas. Great and enjoyable for everyone!

Love this little gem in Bakersfield. It's perfect for kids that like to make believe and pretend. They use to have a science aspect on the other size but it got replaced with some tech stuff that I didn't like. The old stuff use to be hands on and now it's just boring. They have a craft side as well. Whenever I've gone there's no one that leads the activity you just dive in. Be respectful and put things back the way you found them and take care of the things.

The Lori Brock Children's Discovery center is hands down AMAZING. My 3yo enjoys himself every time we go. It never gets old. Very clean. Friendly staff. So many things to do! So much room for IMAGINATION!

Our family enjoys the Lori Brock museum and Pioneer Village for free with our C.A.L.M. membership. As such, we visit often and the kids love going to play with the various STEM activities inside the Lori Brock. The only problem is, it keeps their attention for very little time, maybe 30-45 minutes because they've been so many times and it's always the same. I'm sure funding is limited as they are a non-profit organization, but we would like to see new activities or exhibits occasionally. Coincidentally, as I was thinking that today - we noticed these was a sign on the door to one room that looks like something new is coming. Overall, a good place to take the kids to get out of the house for awhile and if you need to run off some energy - you can cruise through Pioneer Village and peek at life in "the ooooolden days."

There's not a lot to keep the attention of someone older than four or five. Its adorable, but if you have older children, they may not enjoy it as much.

Our students of only 5 years old had a blast. They had so much fun in the children's area. Changing into costumes to resemble police officers. Firefighters, doctors nurses and others was a memorable experience. Thank you for such beautiful space.
