Ace hotel was a pioneer in terms of bringing Palm springs into the 21st century. The design is still groundbreaking, turning minimal rooms into bohemian hideaways with cool mood lighting. You definitely feel sexy even when the room is off the parking lot. Whether or not that commands its high room prices is dependent on how much you care about interior design. If you're just looking for a place to crash in Palm springs there are plenty of other cheaper and very decent alternatives. The pool vibe here is one of the best though in Palm springs with a good DJ and plenty of people watching. My main complaint about the ace is that the restaurant has gone downhill over the years. I would say stay there but eat elsewhere.

ACE hotel basically reads as a renovated motel with good marketing. Hotel is fine, but definitely overpriced for what it is. Our 2 bed room was quite small for the $600+ we paid for one night. The design screams 2010 hipster, and can easily look dated. As mentioned before, it gives off slightly dingy motel vibes but I will say the beds were comfy and the bathroom was more chic than the rest of the place. The pool is a nice add on… pretty big and I like that it’s open late. Night vibes were very different and chill compared to daytime. Crowds are expected, so come early if you want a spot. The pool didn’t feel very clean tho as I saw lots of debris and dead bugs floating around, and the floor is pretty dirty with rust marks and random stains. We didn’t bother getting drinks there bc it was bound to be expensive considering how the rooms are priced.

We were there for a wedding....the wedding itself was amazing!! They did an awesome job with everything.....However, the venue was old as hell (old Vegas like), rooms were small and needed a face-lift, lobby looked like one out of a hunting movie, the pool itself was okay (but its supposedly known for its pool parties).... the other thing that was a negative was the price!! The value for the $$ just wasn't there for me....

I’ve wanted to stay at an Ace hotel for years, so I was really excited to finally get a chance. First thing I noticed is that the rooms smell like sewage. It hits as soon as you enter. I thought it would fade — it hasn’t. (I tried burning incense and perfume to make it tolerable but to no avail). I heard another couple at the bar complain about the smell too. So I know it wasn’t just my room. One of the lamps in my room is broken, which sucks cause the lighting options aren’t great to begin with. They have laundry bags in the room but don’t offer laundry service. And the food, drink and amenities are ridiculously expensive. It seems to me that the Ace Palm Springs is coasting on the Ace reputation. If I could check out early without penalty, I would. The two stars are for the comfy bed and the friendly bar staff.

I would say this hotel doesn’t fit my preference. Maybe other people feel it’s attractive with the decorations, but my feeling on it is different, I feel it’s a motel but charged same as or even more price than other nice regular hotels like Renaissance. The room is super small as a motel and it’s simple and crude, which is the deal breaker for me. But, I still love the swimming pool and the restaurant, and their service is great.

I've been coming to the Ace in Palm Springs for many years, but I regret that this was my last stay. I know the Ace chain has been in trouble since the pandemic and they have closed several locations. It seems apparent to me that many decisions have been made to cut operational costs at the PS location. I came with my partner for a three-night birthday weekend. We splurged on the Patio with Fireplace room for over $850 per night. We were told that we were being given the "quietest" room, but being directly next to the Clubhouse space and the pool, we were subjected to both the noise of two wedding receptions (until after midnight), plus the relentless noise of the live DJ during the Saturday pool crowd, from 12-5 pm. My partner became ill mid-day through Saturday, and we made the call to check out early, departing Saturday evening instead of Sunday morning as planned. Specific notes: - Kings Highway has significantly gone down in quality of food and service. Clearly understaffed. - The Amigo Room was so crowded on both nights, it would have been impossible to get a drink, let alone find a table. - The pool was a disaster. Despite paying nearly $900 per night, deck chairs were all gone by 10:45 on Saturday morning -- with tons of chairs "reserved" by ghosts or day guests. DJ was a mess -- I have always admired the Ace for great music supervision, but this was awful. Content (Sean Paul's "Temperature"? Are you kidding? Not even ironically.), mix (literally went dead at times because the DJs were too high to work their equipment) and volume (blasting through JBL Control 30s pointed directly at the deck chairs) -- you couldn't nap, read, or even hear yourself think. People around us struggled with drink and food orders delayed or lost. We didn't even bother. - As other reviews have stated, the rooms are stuffy with opening the patio door being the only option for ventilation -- impossible with the noise. And even the linens smell like chlorine. The lovely, differentiating details like crates of vinyl in the rooms are gone. - The Ace seems to have no idea what their vibe is anymore. The Saturday pool event was a strange blend of families with children (leaving toys everywhere and splashing everyone -- also awkward with the content of music), a handful of 20-somethings who were trying to figure out how to make it Tao Beach, and then a bunch of other couples like us and groups of friends who were struggling to figure out how to cultivate a chill vibe like we had been promised. - We were told that the cutoff was 5 PM for any refunded nights, and since we chose to check out at 6:15, we would not be refunded for the final night -- despite the fact that the reason we were leaving was due to the noise and discomfort of the room, and knowing we were not going to get a good night's sleep. - Absolutely not worth the money. Tons of other places to stay in Palm Springs for the same amount of money, but a more service-driven approach. Also, it's not an issue of it being too much of a party atmosphere -- that would be fine if you just went with it. The issue is that it's just a mess, with no clear vision of what experience they are trying to sell people anymore.

Like the hotel, paid in full prior to arrival - but then they hit you with a junk charge “resort fee” which is an utter bull$#!+ junk fee supposedly to use the pool etc. Just tell me what it costs to stay at your s#!++y hotel. Don’t hit me with hidden fees when I get there. Where are your ethics? Obviously the facilities should be included with the room. Here’s an idea, calculate what you need to cover the cost of your pool, and add that to the cost of the room. Since it’s nonnegotiable, you might as well just add it on. Also. I tried to buy a newspaper and they refused to take legal tender in the exact amount because they didn’t take cash. Slow clap Ace hotel. Finally, the staff at the desk were not friendly or welcoming. They were busy on their computers, cold, uninterested, and ultimately lacked ability to provide the customer service one would expect to receive in “hospitality”.

Let me tell you about this lovely hotel that was recommended to me for the desertx art exhibits hub last year. The chill atmosphere and cool modern style of the hotel's architecture were really something else. The bar was so dark and roomy, I felt like I was in a vampire's lair (in a good way, of course!). The pool was so spacious, it felt like I was swimming in the ocean...if the ocean had an outside bar and a mysterious food truck that wasn't actually serving food (I mean, what's up with that?). Despite the food truck fiasco, it was a very nice, modern, and relaxing experience overall. Oh, it's not exactly, quiet... but you'll love it.

Fun getaway. 2 floor model style hotel. No elevator. Original hotel pretty rundown but semi-renovated. Small but adequate rooms. Restaurant by the pool menu pretty basic and pricy, but decent. Salt water pool is family friendly, open till 02:00 am. On check out day cleaning crew will start knocking at your door at nine, in the hour, even though check out is at noon. Pet friendly, they let dogs hang out by the pool.

This place is just absolutely magical to me. I’ve been a regular here every year for almost a decade and it just has this way of soothing the soul and creating such a unique retro paradise with a stunning view that you’ll never forget. Everything has unique details - from the pathways, the furniture, to the Kings Highway Diner and the Amigo Room Bar. Every time I️ stay here I️ don't even want to leave the property because everything I️ need is on site. I’m even obsessed with the smell of this place - specifically the rooms and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Oh, and there is always great music going. I️ look forward to coming here every single year for my birthday and never have a dull experience. The vibe is just so chill, yet fun and spicy. I️ want to get married here! I️ want to LIVE here! Lol.

Amazing experiences at The Ace Hotel 💕 The staff is phenomenal - especially poolside and at the spa. The rooms are comfy and cute. Food and drinks are delicious. The saltwater pool is lovely. Also have to mention: I had a massage with Michael at The Feel Good Spa and it was probably the best massage I’ve ever had. This is my second time here and I can’t wait to continue making the annual trip. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

We stayed here during a recent trip to Palm Springs. We were looking for places that were outside the box / different than your typical hotel. This place was awesome! Lots of character, a fun crowd, great pool, and overall really relaxing vibes. We booked a downstairs room with a private patio and fireplace. This was the highlight of the trip - we were able to hang out by the fire at night and enjoy coffee and the weather in the morning on the outdoor seating. This is not your typical high-end, fancy hotel - so don't book if you are looking for something more traditional / stuffy - this place is all about relaxation, cool outdoor vibes, and a retro feel that matches the Palm Springs culture! I would highly recommend!

When my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to spend our baby moon, we found ace hotel. We liked the location as it seemed we were close to everything but also not in the center of it all in case we wanted some silence. We were excited for our little outdoor patio with a fireplace and we were looking at paying a little over $1,000 for 3 nights. Everything was going fine until our last night there when I stepped out for 20 minutes and left her in the room to pick us up some food. We were told at the front desk that we would not get any housekeeping during our stay which was fine because we didn't want anyone in our room but that turned out not to be true. While I stepped away, my girlfriend popped in her AirPods and laid down only to be startled when someone started to open the door. She didn't hear a knock, it was 4-5pm so it was already dark out and she thought someone was breaking into the room. You can only imagine how livid I was when I found out about this as we felt like they had just invaded our privacy. I felt even worse because I felt like had someone really been breaking in, I wasn't there to save her and our 8 month unborn boy. Luckily it was housekeeping but it didn't stop her from being totally freaked out from the whole thing. I went to the front desk to speak to a manager and all I got back was a refund for a resort fee....$50 a night. You ruined what was supposed to be our last outing before becoming and we can now sum up the whole trip on that incident. Don't see ourselves coming back here unless we brought some extra latches or security for the door to ensure no one comes in uninvited.

This was a highlight of our America Trip. Everything about this place is perfect. Good vibes in a gorgeous setting. The rooms are beautiful and the diner was delicious. Stayed in the pool drinking cocktails all day. Would love to visit again!

If you are over the age of 25 and are looking for a nice place to stay, I would not recommend the Ace. This is a old motel that they've gotten away with not remodelling by passing it off as a hipster and trendy "hotel." I reserved a room knowing this is the vibe of the Ace but quickly learned it was a mistake. The first thing I noticed upon entering our room was the overwhelming smell of cleaning products. Next, I realized I had just walked into my grandma's basement. The furniture and decor are trendy but that's where it ends. The room was on the bottom floor, and was dark and dingy with canvas covering all the walls and patio door. The patio door was the only option for light, but you couldn't leave it open if you wanted any privacy. The flooring is old concrete with cracks and covered with a small old area rug. The lighting throughout the room is dark with no natural light. The lights outside of our room didn't turn on at night and it was pitch black so we had to use our phones to get around. When we told the front desk, their response was "we know, they'll come on soon". The cute outdoor fireplaces they show off on their website weren't on nor were the lights around them. The internet didn't work for the 15 hours we were there (which we were being charged for in our daily resort fee) and we didn't get cell reception in our basement room. Overall, not the type of place we wanted to stay on our relaxing trip to Palm Springs. The only good thing was that they were really friendly, let us check out after one night of our four night reservation, and refunded us the daily resort fee. We checked into a much nicer hotel in the same price range and had a wonderful stay.

I only visited for the day so I have no opinion on rooms or service. The location is great, the venue is cute. Great for a young-er crowd, not so much for a quiet ladies day. Pool was very occupied, there is no shade around the pool. That was my biggest issue. I certainly enjoy the water, but I need a shaded refuge to relax. Not sure if they'll allow you to provide your own shade.

VERY crowded on a Monday mid day but only because it’s a great spot to buy a day pass and hang out. The food was really really good, perfect fries and a memorable wedge salad (they even had edible flowers on it). The drinks were also super tasty. All were the prices you’d expect to pay poolside in Palm Springs but none felt like you were getting ripped off. So be careful on a windy day though, things can really go flying around the pool!

Poor value for the price we paid -- small room, tired-looking pool and facilities, bare bones service. Housekeeping is only upon request and we were charged for minibar items that we never used. The hotel definitely has a Palm Springs vibe, there was music/partying on the grounds and a solid restaurant on site, so if that's what you are looking for, this hotel might work better for you.

Visited this place for a brunch pool party. It was very refreshing during a very hot Palm Springs day. They had an open bar and a brunch buffet. You can also order items with your phone using the QR code attached to the chairs.

I am a Palm Springs local and I came to visit a friend poolside. Everyone from staff was really welcoming and the food from the restaurant was fabulous. I had a short visit but the quality of service stood out. I would definitely recommend friends to come here.

I do love the decor and the pool area of the hotel. It definitely feels like a very well design chic place/club to stay and hang out. But I think as I was visiting here in December, the heat was a bit unstable in the room and the shower pressure was kind of week. Otherwise, all love will stay here again

I agree with others in that it’s a renovated motel with hipster vibes. Guitar and record player in the room, wall coverings to make it feel different. The pools are nice for sure. It is as other commenters say for a cabana you need to get their early and reserve something.

I wish I could give the place 6 stars. Everything was perfect. Staff were friendly and courteous, room was spotless, food was great, pool was a blast. Nothing bad to say about the place. I noticed some negative comments about price, but having shopped around at several hotels in Palm Springs, found the Ace to be excellent value, I guess some people just don’t get the vibe…

Only stopped by to charge my tesla and use bathroom BUT the restaurant and unique shop were very cute. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I think that says a lot about an establishment. As for the charger, thank you for allowing me to use your power and providing extended charging cords to accommodate. I know those were not cheap. Charging speed was 208v at 48A and are located on the south portion of the building. Thank you again and I wanted to return the favor by leaving a positive review

Great venue, and real professional bartenders. Pool and drinks were an amazing experience. Management was not the best 😕 but it's always been a big issue there, other then that 5 stars. check this place out.

Room was extremely loud, as the pool is open until 2am every night (loud music and lots of people each night). We were told the other available rooms would be even louder. The room was small, expensive, and had water leaking from the ceiling, but had cool decor.

They have a bar and pool open late which was great. The entire hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were small for the cost. Other family members stayed at other hotels which had much bigger rooms. The bed was really low on the ground and hard to get off of if you have certain disabilities. The bathroom by the pool had a weird sewage smell. Other than that the place was really nice just not as nice as I would have expected for the price.

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of a road trip and had a standard room just off the pool which was great. Staff were all lovely, amenities were fantastic and the pool was fabulous. Dinner at the King’s Highway was good too, and drinks reasonably priced.

Very cool place that i did bump into a couple of celebs on my first visit. Just be ready for high prices at the bar. I ordered 2 beers from the tap and it was 30 bucks. I try not to pay too much attention to price but there was no entertainment or anything other than a cozy room for the bar so I'm not really sure where the 15 dollars a beer comes from. I heard they have live jazz on Wednesday nights but I wasn't here on a Wednesday. I might be willing to pay that while watching live music but why the same price on other nights? Unless they raise those prices on live music nights?? I'm scared to even find out.

Competes for best hotel I've stayed at (even ignoring price). Fell into this hotel at the last minute when another hotel (Sonder) catastrophically effed up upon checking in. The Ace Hotel has kind and helpful staff, a great atmosphere for the boutique traveler, plenty of amenities. The rooms were nice. The character of the hotel is relevant and well thought out. Restaurant and cafe are great to chill and work out of. There's upscale bar lounge if you want to get away from the light. For quick trips I'm not looking to empty my wallet on expensive hotels but for paying a bit more than usual I found here you definitely get what you pay for. And did I say an automatic 12pm checkout?
