STAY AWAY from working here! They treat staff like they are disposable. Leadership is racist and discriminate employees. PAY IS REALLY LOW compared to other companies, and they do not provide relocation assistance. Turnover is high in certain departments, especially administrative-type roles. And there is definitely a lack of infection control folks that care. It seems as if staff is just there to collect a pay check and not there to improve patient care. I would not refer anyone to work for this company. "Best company to work for"?! What a sick joke.

My husband who is 70 years old, type 1 diabetic and had a transplant in July of 20 came down with Covid pneumonia at the beginning of the year instead of keeping him the second time I brought him to the hospital they sent us home and the next day he collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital in a ambulance. Where he had to be in the hospital for almost a month. When he was taken in the ambulance we came to find out that they only had 1 emergency doctor there. When I asked why they wouldn’t keep him the doctor told me that they had other patients that needed to be first but with all of his health issues I felt he should have been kept there after the2nd time we went back. There is a lot more to this story but I do not think I have enough space. This hospital use to be a good hospital but not now

I wouldn't recommend taking your family members her. As civilians we often don't see the things happening behind a desk. We took our mom her and nurses treated her bad until her death. I got to see a nurse squeeze and entire IV bag into her blood stream. Other, a procedure that should have taken over and hour was done to her in 15mins, Behind closed doors where her family was not allowed in. They are getting 1 star. But really deserve a good lawsuit...

I visited the ER 2 weeks ago because I was having an allergic reaction to something I consumed. I got there are 4 am, and was seen about 25 minutes later. I sat on the hospital bed panicking, confused, zoned out, sleepless and covered in hives while the doctor found it right to tell me I needed to loose weight and fasting…. NOT TO MENTION it wasn’t until they were billing me that they realized they had checked me in as a 52 year old woman, being that I’m 25 and a new patient, recorded my visit on that woman’s chart and ordered the mediation under her too, and disclosed information to confirm if that was me. Confirming my identify would have been done some other way to ensure the privacy of the woman. Every time a nurse or the doctor would say my name I corrected my name and they still didn’t bother checking. I’m not medically insured so the fact that this was my experience and charged me $800 for this visit with 30 days to pay sounds so ridiculous…

Labor and delivery went well. The Dr and nurses all did a great job. Felt like I could trust the staff. The cafeteria was open most of the day. The food in the cafeteria was good, I would stay away from anything deep fried or run the risk of an upset stomach. The burgers are really good and so was the soup. Spent three days and never saw them serve pizza, not sure why? The recovery rooms have good AC and heating. Small TV with HDMI plugs. Room is outdated and the couch that is available for dad is not very welcoming. They do provide basic sheets and a couple super basic pillows. Don’t expect the Hilton. Wi-Fi sucks big time and limits what websites you can go to. Can’t access anything like stocks or crypto. The cell phone reception is super minimal at best. Over all, they get the job done well. The place could use a remodel. Staff: Thank you for all you do! Keep up the good work :)

They have the means to know how much you owe and don't tell you until you arrive for your appointment. Do not help with billing. They say they don't know if you're covered and tell you to check with your doctor and insurance. The insurance and doctor said everything was covered. Then when you go the day of the appointment this hospital tells you that you do owe and they tell you exactly how much you owe. They should be transparent and let you know ahead of time. I doubt they billed correctly.

Sitting in an ER room right now with an empty IV and promises of pain meds. It took almost 3 hours to get some pain medicine for my 76 year old mother who has been crying due to stomach pain. We can do better than this.

From the moment I arrived at this beautiful hospital I felt comfortable before be admitted for surgery. The check in process was very fast, the registration staff was pleasant and helpful. I have nothing but positive things to say about the high level of treatment I received at St. Joseph. The doctors and nursing staff were absolutely hands down some of the best I’ve ever been blessed to have treat me. I am thankful for St. Joseph and their professional staff. This operation made me nervous at first but they helped me feel comfortable and well cared for. I highly recommend getting services from this amazing team. Me and my family thanks you for your excellent level of service and a nice and speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

This used to be my hospital, I would rep this ER so much. However, I went to the ER about a week ago because I had excruciating back pain, everything from my waist down went numb and do you think they ran tests? No. No tests just pain meds. They said that I wasn’t a trauma patient so the back pain should go away on its own. But I can’t feel anything from the waist down!!! I kind of felt discriminated. Never again.

This was a tier one on my insurance which is a PPO.. I ened up paying more than my co-worker with the same insurance (and his hearing aid cost more). When I called they said it was a hippa violation to tell me who the other person was. I realize this then she said can you tell me another person had come in saying that too. She then said "tell me who HE is".. How would you know it's a man? I never said it was a male co-worker. Not only was she rude but she basically violated the hippa law too. You never disclose any information and then ask for his name. I notified my insurance and I was told they didn't even bill my insurance. I used all my FSA funds to pay this. What a joke. My advise if you come here make sure you get a copy of your Audio-gram so you can go anywhere else to get a hearing aid. The audio-gram is basically a prescription for hearing aids. The doctors were nice but the BILLING TERRIBLE SERVICE. I can't believe this is part of St Joseph's. They need to check this place out and the terrible insurance/billing procedures they're doing which are semi illegal. So sad!

I was admitted to St Joseph hospital last year. I went twice to St. Joes before I was admitted. I was told my symptoms were normal for my condition and to go home and rest. I found it strange that I was very tired and kept sweating. My appetite was poor, and I didn’t feel I was getting any better. I was trying to figure out why I was very tired and couldn’t seem to stay up. I would give Dr. Mullarky 5 out of 5 however, because of the whole experience I had initially at hospital prior to my admission. I am writing this review for the day I was admitted to the hospital and doctor Matthew Mullarky who helped admit and stabilize me. It took a while to get me admitted as they were waiting to clear beds during the peak of covid. When a bed opened up Dr. Mullarky quickly helped me get stabilized. Although I was severely sick I was able to notice he was moving very quickly to hook me up with treatment. By the time I was admitted I had developed sepsis along with other acute medical diagnosis. I am grateful and thankful he was there that day to treat me. From what I read he specializes in sepsis so I’m grateful it was him who treated me at the time I got admitted to the hospital. Thank you Dr. Mullarky you are the best

Receptionist very bad , very disrespectful. I asked for clinical supervisor but they refused and asked us to be out of the hospital until they move the patient another room . I couldn’t believe they can escort visitors outside because they want to transfer the patient to another room !!! I am nursing supervisor and what they did very shame on them !!! Very disappointed!!!

Horrible customer service!! They have nothing posted about no children under 12. The lady who came to tell me was so rude my child started crying. My child was not even allowed in the building. They tell you that it is on the website but then you can’t find it. There is also a small QR code by the door…but you can’t see it unless you are looking for it. I ended up having to talk to a supervisor. And while I was waiting 2 different kids under 12 were let in. There policy seems to be geared to people of their choosing.

I genuinely wish I could give this a 5 star review because the nurses, technicians, and all other support staff were amazing. Truly, two of them might have actually saved my life from medical mismanagement from the doctor. I wanted to be able to call out names but I won’t attach them to a 2 star review. About midway through my hospitalization I met Dr. Ji Yeon Park. While I respect Dr. Park’s intelligence and thoroughness, I could tell from day 1 of meeting her that she saw me as nothing more than an addict. I tried giving her the respect expected out of me as a patient, but it was not reciprocated from what a compassionate healthcare worker should have been. Things said such as “I’m not going to talk to you about pain” because she never wanted me to have proper pain control in the first place were hurtful. “I’m not going to chase after one little value” when I had concerns about my labwork, but I was “just playing doctor” and she expressed that she wished patients couldn’t see their labwork because of that. I have had another flare up just from food alone that I felt too afraid to go to the ER or hospital for because of this treatment. That I’d be seen as nothing more than a pill-seeking addict for, despite the fact that I haven’t even made an appointment with my pain management team yet. The point of this review is not to seek revenge or get Dr. Park in trouble. I just hope better addiction management and sensitivity counseling can be provided to the doctors so other patients do not have to go through the fear and physical pain I did. Again, the nursing and support staff is great, but please do something about the burnt out doctors that only see patients as numbers and statistics. I have multiple family members in healthcare that agree that I should not have been discharged in the state I was in, nor treated the way I was. This is a hard road for me and I’m a person, not just a statistic. Thank you.

It brings me to tears the quality of treatment my wife and i received from the whole facility when delivering our baby, c section with dr allan akerman, and the complete nurse staff that attended my wife and newborn during two nights. The on staff pediatricians, lab workers you name it, they are all angels sent from heaven. The best We really needed them. I still cant believe it and will be forever grateful

The quality of care was great but I'm rating a #2 because the young ladies at the front desk are so unprofessional, lazy, and have ZERO EMPATHY. They are literally the first faces you see when you walk in the front door and should have better customer service but lack that. I was going to this hospital everyday for 2 weeks and I can say that it is very disrespectful the way they operate and witnessing their lack of empathy and laziness to assist people walking in the doors gives St. Joseph a bad name.

Okay get this. I'm waiting for the bus in front of St Joseph's Hospital. I have a skin condition or I cannot stand in the Sun that makes me burn very easily and the security guard asked me to step off property since I'm standing in the only shade in the whole place is in the parking lot right next to the bus stop. So as not to start a riot I move. Thanks a lot St Joseph. Letting a 53 year old woman burn.

The Doctors and Nurse are very professional in this St. Joseph hospital. I have been hospital a lot in past over 10 years for my heart problems from my anxiety and depression. That means I could not finger out how many time I had went to hospitals. But St. Hospital is the best and most professional hospital I went to in before yesterday. Actually I went to first hospital for my heart hurt me so much with chest painful ……….. Then this hospital did not treated me for hours, so I walk out this hospital. After that I called 911 and ambulance brought me to St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. Dr. Kim and Nurses treated me right way, so I got better right way. I am so appreciate they did. Then the doctor keep me over night in there and I had got the best and clear answer about my heart issues with a heart doctor Kim and a woman doctor over 10 years. But I forgot her mane. Thank so Doctors and Nurses in this hospital

The nurses and doctors are great, the front desk staff, however, are awful. Having my dad in the hospital is stressful enough, and dealing with rude receptionists is certainly not ideal. Cindy in particular. The receptionists are the first people visitors see and it should be a positive experience, not a negative one. I would recommend a customer service class for the front desk crew. The policy for 2 visitors per patient inside the building is so inconsistent and frustrating. Me, my mom and brother could not go see my dad yet two different instances there were parties of 3 waiting for a patient.

The only sweet nurse was the Asian nurse; she was a short and young nurse who works in the front station. She went above and beyond for me. The PA Kelly Markle ( the lady with blue eyes and wrinkles on her forehead and face)should not be allowed to work on anyone; she is rude, and you can tell she hates her job, only there for the money. Also, the X-RAY tech for the chest, the old woman with blue eyes, made me feel unsafe. I didn't feel safe in either one's care. They denied me liquid medicine, although I told them I couldn't swallow pills. They said I'm too old for liquid, which confuses me—how can you force someone to swallow a pill when they simply cannot? They are unprofessional, gross, and make you feel very unsafe. The guy processing my insurance, who resembles the nurse, and the security guard (the chubby one) - I don't want to get him confused because there were many security guards, but he was very helpful. These people made me feel like a human at this hospital.

My husband was referred to the hospital due to a toe infection. The hospital was very busy, but they tried to take him in as soon as possible. The nurses, emergency room doctor, internal medicine doctor, and foot surgeon were outstanding. My husband is not easily impressed and he was. I’m giving it four stars because there’s always room for improvement. There were a few hiccups that I won’t bother to mention because it would take too long, but overall very grateful for the care. Thank you!

Customer service at front desk was HORRIBLE! This hospital may very well be equipped with good doctors and nurses but these ladies at front desk sure do put St. Joseph’s name on the floor. Unfortunately I did not get any names because I was so angry and shocked by their unprofessionalism, especially by the one who called herself the manager. NOBODY had asked her for that information: “and I’m the manager by the way” was what she said after I tried to get my family away because I knew she wasn’t going to help after seeing how rude she was. There was NO sign anywhere in hospital saying 12 year olds and younger couldn’t get in. Even the Charge nurse said it was okay. But nonetheless, I get it. Rules are rules and you’re just trying to enforce them. It is the attitude and lack of empathy along with ARROGANCE that is not accepted. St. Joseph please do a better job at checking how your employees are treating people. These ladies really think they can look down on people just because they are sitting on a desk at a hospital doing nothing. It is a shame to read all the reviews below and see that this ddnt just happened to my family and I and nothing has been done about it. Shame! Shame! By the way, UCI hospital has better customer service!

The care and workers are great but the wait time is ridiculous. I have been here twice and both have been 3 hours plus. Parking is super fair too....drop off your love one that is in need of er care and you have to parm like 5mins away and walk back for for another 15mins. Ridiculous I will be going to UCI for now on.

I hate going to the doctor's office or hospital; it is almost never an enjoyable experience and I have left many appointments feeling unheard, uncared for and largely disrespected. This was not the case with my emergency room visit to Providence Mission Hospital. I've been to the ER before. I prepared myself to be in the waiting room for 3-4 hours and then another 1-2 hours of sitting in a hospital bed, praying for appropriate care. I do my best to avoid the ER, but I knew I needed to go for this specific situation. The PA Jessica and her nurse (I am so sorry I did not get your name, I was hoping it was on the discharge papers) were gentle, caring, understanding and helpful. An ER is a hectic environment and not one that is easy to manage with patience, but these folks made it look easy. I was seen quickly, listened to, given appropriate care and ultimately left feeling as though I had received more than I could have expected. I learned that the ER is handling patients in different groups based on the ailment/necessary treatment and trying to work in a more efficient manner. I felt this was readily seen in my situation and appears to be effective. Thank you Providence; I know you cannot make everyone happy and satisfied, but you did help me.

My dad was here almost 2 full months. May and June 2023. I’ll tolerate the girls at the check in. The doctors who performed my dads surgeries were great. Med Tele nurses on the 4th floor: Jose, Tia, Morgan, and Koa (to name a few) are very caring and patient with my dad. I’ll give em 5 stars. BUT there are some nurses like Irene and her assistant that have no personality whatsoever. They rush so they can get out quick and it reflects in the work they do. They should be moved to work the check in desk. If you don’t make it a point to be there for your love one(s), they might miss a meal or two or three. Oh and you’ll have to remind the 3 star nurses to bathe your loved one. Thankfully we moved to St Jude. Definitely a road to recovery🙏🏽🙏🏽

I stayed at St Joseph Hospital for three weeks in March 2023. The doctors, nurses and nurses assistants were friendly, helpful and professional. I would like to give a shout out to some of the staff who were especially helpful: RN Caryln (ICU), RN Sara (DSU), Travel Nurse Stephanie (DSU), Travel Nurse Cat (DSU), RN Maris (DSU), RN Marylynn (DSU), Nurse Assistant John and Ruben (DSU), RN Suzzette, Hannah and Song (third floor, surgery recovery), Nurse Assistants Paul, Kai and Yaneth (third floor, surgery recovery). Thank you all with all y heart. You made a very painful and uncomfortably situation much more bareably.

I had a great experience here, specifically with those in the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology departments. When I called in a panic and on the verge of tears because there had been a horrible error and my doctor's office had never scheduled a critically important appointment for me with the hospital, the people at St. Joseph were extremely helpful. They assured me that they would do all that they could to help expedite things for me given my urgent circumstances, and they followed through. They went above and beyond with keeping in contact with me and talking me through all of the steps they would take to help me. Without their help, I don't know what I would have done. I am truly grateful for everyone that helped me. Their kindness and understanding during a desperate situation helped more than I can put into words.

Honestly not a great experience in labor and delivery here. The doctor who delivered us was quite rude on the phone prior to us coming in. Later, we were told conflicting information from various nurses, although we were able to work our way through that in the end. Finally, the visitor policy is apparently only one extra person in the recovery room, which conflicts with what the website says. It’s not hard to change the info to be correct on a webpage. Disappointing hospital overall, we’ll go somewhere else next time for sure and I suggest you do too. I didn’t give it one star because the nurses in the recovery unit were very good. That was the only redeeming factor.
