The hotel itself was great, good location, rooms were spacious enough, and staff was friendly. The reason I’m giving it two stars and won’t stay there again is because we had to pay more than $75 for three days of parking and on multiple occasions there was nowhere to park. When we approached the front desk about it, they told us to park in the fire lane behind the hotel. This is unacceptable for a few reasons: 1) that’s for fire trucks/first responders - if my vehicle got damaged because it had to be forcibly moved in the event of a fire, is the hotel paying for that? It also makes emergency response slower, which could result in injury or death, 2) I paid over $75 for parking, I should get a parking spot with that kind of money, and 3) parking along the back of the hotel leaves very little space for those parking on the perimeter to get out; it’s an accident waiting to happen. The second thing is they advertised the pool as heated, but it was super cold. When we asked about that, they said it’s technically heated, but not to more than 78 degrees. The pool was really cold so I doubt it even hit 78. If the parking issues were resolved we would consider recommending this place, the pool isn’t even that big of an issue, it’s just false advertising. But the parking issue is absolutely not okay. At the very least they should refund people the parking fee when they have multiple instances of having nowhere to park. I kept being told there would be parking spaces “after 11:00AM” - what good does that do for me. I didn’t pay for parking to only be able to get a space during a handful of daytime hours.

This is a great location for your Disney vacation. Staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. It's within walking distance to the park it's about 15-20 minutes. Maybe just over half a mile. Many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast is fantastic! It has a large spread and the staff is unbelievable with keeping everything clean and stocked. The car rental place next door is great if you want to rent a car and explore the LA area for a day. Can't say enough good things about our stay here. We absolutely would stay here again

Great little hotel with the best price I could find for a separate sleeping area for kids. The barn door to the bunk beds meant we didn't have to go to bed when our little one did. Close to Disney (10min walk) and had everything we needed. A simple breakfast, a mini fridge and microwave in the room, pool and hot tub, great staff. Not a luxery hotel but clean and comfy! We would definitely stay again.

We love the Desert Palms for its comfort, location, and nicely-appointed rooms. Update on pool hazard: I received a call from the hotel manager about a week and a half after our stay. She was very grateful that we took the time to email the management and said that they saw the issue and were able to fix it properly. This was much more in line with our past experience there and we look forward to returning again! Original comment about pool hazard: However, PLEASE BEWARE: the pool deck between the pool entry and the newer spa concrete has not been properly maintained and is dangerously slippery when wet... even when walking slowly. We notified the hotel front desk staff of this hazard during our stay in June 2021 and were disappointed to see it had not been addressed on our recent visit (April 2022). The day we were at the pool, my son slipped and hit his head despite the fact that I put towels on the ground (apparently, I missed a spot). I was informed by another mother that, earlier in the day, her son had slipped and hit the back of his head, she slipped and almost fell, and a father of another family slipped and bloodied his knee. So unless you want to risk your stay being ruined by the negligence of the management, throw down at least four towels and make a walkway for all. I notified the front desk staff and emailed the manager. Although they sent a thoughtful gift basket to the room, I was disappointed that they didn't at least take my suggestion of posting a "Slippery When Wet" sign in the area. I will update this review if I receive confirmation that the situation has been addressed.

Excellent base for Disneyland. Stayed here 2 nights as part of family vacation to spend 2 days in Disneyland. Hotel was clean and the room was really spacious (we had one with a king size bed and bunk beds). Breakfast had hot and cold items with good selection of cereals and breads, plus fresh waffles. Would definitely stay again if visiting the parks.

I have stayed at 10 hotels around the Disneyland area and this is now one of my favorites. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our room was ground floor next to the road but the windows must've been double glazed as there was very little noise. The breakfast was basic but nice and the breakfast seating area was nice. Great location to the parks as well as other amenities like CVS across the road.

Stayed for 3 nights, great location to the parks! About 10 min walk to the entrance of either park. Though there were some concerns from other reviews about some of the homeless near the 7-11, I never once felt uneasy walking past there as the corner is fairly well lit and it's a busy street, so honestly no worries about the crowd if you're simply walking by. I would recommend staying here for families on a bit of a budget. We had a "Standard" room, 2 double beds. The room was fairly clean, although you can tell the age of the place as it does look rather dated and dull vs more modern spots. But honestly, you're there to sleep comfortably after a day at the parks not admire your hotel room every time you enter it right? The bathroom was clean and showers/tubs were good. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast offered each morning, they had enough to fill up most appetites (omelettes, muffins, cereal, waffles, and the usual coffee/juice/milk offerings). They close at 10am sharp, so make sure you're there before to get something before heading to the parks. Bottom line, good place to stay for the price and location! Would not have any issues staying here again.

I love this hotel! This is my 2nd trip here. My husband and I came right after we got married to go to Disneyland. 6 years and 2 kids later, we knew 100% we were staying here again. This is where you stay when you are going to Disneyland. It's less than a 1/2 mile walk (literally 2 blocks). By far one of my favorite hotels EVER and a real bright spot on our Disneyland trip. The location is enough to make you stay here but they outdo themselves. The front desk ladies were all so sweet and friendly especially Lorena! She was so understanding and helpful at check-in. I had laryngitis and she was so patient with my lack of voice control and volume. She made local suggestions that my family would enjoy and was very personable. We couldn't have had a better experience honestly. Every time we were in the lobby the front desk ladies would smile, say hello or wave. Our room was lovely, the balcony was a great touch. If you stay here, try to get one of those rooms. The view is nice at night. The breakfast is good. Nothing beats waffles. My girls loved the donuts too. It is a great start to our morning. We didn't go to the pool this time but saw many people enjoying the pool and hot tub. It's very family friendly. My girls especially loved the Mickey statue in the lobby and finding the stuffed characters hidden on the ceiling. I did lose a few items when we checked out but I can't pinpoint where we left them so no way to recover them unfortunately.

Very easy walk to Disney Resort. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast could have been a little better. But I am pretty picky with food. I didn't try the attached Oasis Food Hall, but would in the future. I think it's very clever to have a space like that attached to a hotel. As mentioned by other people, the houseless people hanging out by the 7-11 was a little worrying at first. But nobody bothered us. And having the stores nearby was very useful. Drinks and snacks were much more affordable than the parks.

We booked here for the main reason of it being close to Disneyland and having a room with bunk beds for our 2 kids (5 & 9). The pool is really small and right off the lobby so I felt uncomfortable with everyone walking by staring at us, but it was fine. The room itself was nice and clean. We booked a room that had a separate area with bunk beds partitioned off with a sliding door. It was perfect. We asked for a room with a view of the fireworks because our kids couldn't make it a full day in the parks which they did for us. They also left a birthday treat for my daughter's birthday. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the park. The real downside here is the staff wasn't rude but not overly nice either. I expect hotel staff to be friendly and welcoming and they just aren't. Also, the breakfast was pretty terrible. After the second day, we kind of dreaded the food but had to eat. We aren't picky eaters but we found it gross. We would stay here again if we had to but it won't be our first choice next time.

Central location and very walkable to Disneyland, although I would've preferred if there was a shuttle after a long day of walking in Disneyland. Rooms are basic, but clean and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was just okay- more variety would've been nice. Overall it was decent!

This is the 6th hotel we have tried around Disneyland and it was the worst. We stayed in a 2bed 2 bath suite and the rooms were very small, one room got all the airflow from the AC so the other room stayed hot, and the walls are very thin so you can hear the traffic outside plus the people around you in the other rooms. Another thing is they refused to do any room service. We had to call down and ask them for towels bc even though we left all day, the only thing they cleaned in our room was the trash cans. The bedding is also paper thin with zero comfort. With the service, the front desk was either absent or straight rude. They acted like it was a huge inconvenience to ask them a simple question. Worst customer service. Disney is about .5 mile away. Not terrible, but there are a lot of hotels closer and better. Check out Tropicana inn, Camelot, or Anaheim for a much better experience.

Super convenient location for a Disneyland trip! The staff was so friendly and helpful! The room was modern, spacious, clean, and quiet. The pool and hot tub were great. Breakfast had a little bit for everyone. Convenient parking for an extra fee. We will definitely stay here again!

I don’t want to give too much away so that this hotel isn’t booked every time we’re on our Disneyland vacation lol but my family and I loved it here. Checking in was easy, parking was easy (you are charged a fee for parking) and we very much enjoyed our stay here overall. I feel like they probably could use some upgrades in the rooms but our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable for the whole family. The walk to Disneyland isn’t as close as some other hotels but it wasn’t bad for us at all. My favorite part of our stay was the breakfast. It’s buffet style with hot food and a waffle maker. We really loved it here overall and my family and I will continue to book our stays here for our future Disneyland vacations.

Great hotel. Room with a queen and a bunk bed is great for family of 4. Bunk bed part had its own door, so sound isolation between the two areas (and each has its own TV). Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had to cancel our last two nights and they were able to do that no problem. Underground parking probably safer than most ($22 per night). In addition to free b-fast, they also have a nice restaurant adjacent to the lobby. And 7-11 next door, drug store across the street, and a mini-mall across the street with lots of restaurants. They also have a shuttle for a fee if you don't want to walk 21 minutes to D-Land. Pool looks nice too.

We just got back from Disneyland. We loved our hotel. It was close, clean and accommodating. We needed some extra help we needed with our booking. Lorena was very nice and helped us resolve the issue. The breakfast was yummy too. I would definitely return.

You all have a lovely hotel, I like the layout of the 2 queen beds in room 437 a lot & the shower wasn't like a Rubik's cube to turn on which I appreciate. I love that the gym and pool access is by key card and the equipment is clean. The gym didn't immediately smell like sweat and it was peaceful compared to the loud lobby where the rest of my classmates were for this school trip. If I ever go on another Disney Land Trip I'll book this hotel again, you're all very polite. It's also worth mentioning that there was an in hotel store with small things before a full day of exploring.

This is like third time staying here, and it is our FAVORITE hotel to stay when visiting Disneyland. Our 4 year old gets so excited to stay at the “Palm Tree Hotel”, and the staff are so kind and helpful, and rooms are clean and comfy! It’s an easy walk to the parks, and the breakfast made my husband so happy each morning. They even upgraded us on our recent visit last week, which was amazing (and if you can swing it, I definitely recommend getting the room with a sunken living room… so much space!). We have plans to come back in September, October and December (our kiddo’s birthday happens during this trip :) Highly recommend this hotel!

I visited Disneyland for years and always use this hotel. They have a great free morning breakfast which saves you and your family a lot of money each day if you plan to go to Disneyland. The walk to Disneyland takes about 10 minutes And there's a CVS pharmacy Right across the street for anything you need. As for the hotel, it's always clean, the staff are very polite, and it's a great place for your family while you visit Disneyland.

Is within walking distance to Disneyland which was great! The rooms were clean and staff was on top of things. Toilet had some sort of flushing issue because it kept flushing on its own. Breakfast was included but not excellent, we didn't bother to eat it the final morning.

The 2BR/2BA Suite fit our family of 6 adults very comfortably. The price point was perfect. Continental breakfast was above average with a different protein offering daily. Our room didn’t have a view but from breakfast we could see the Guardians tower & the backside of Cars Land. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful & replenished our towels & trash cans daily. Avoid the 7-11 next door after hours, but we never had any issues. It’s a pleasant & scenic 10 min walk to DL. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great service! Clean, comfortable room. 50% off upgrade to a suite was perfect for me and my boys so we each had our own bed. Breakfast is fantastic! Pool is not huge but very nice to cool down and then relax in the hot tub. Short walk to Disneyland... about 10 minutes walking briskley.

The gift card reward for scheduling through their website is a sham and doesn't work. We had a cockroach in our room right next to the kitchen for the breakfast so...yeah. Then they relocated us to room next to the elevator and pool on the ground floor so we switched bugs with rowdiness both didn't help with the kids sleep. Other than those two things the Oasis Restaurant is amazing and the location is awesome too! The suites are really well designed to be family friendly (at least the two we had were).

I stayed here November 2022. I felt that the overall stay was somewhere between great and excellent. Amazing location, 10 minute walk to Disney security, great room, great service, etc. No hotel is going to be 100% perfect, and yes I could hear the kids running down the hall, and yes I could hear my neighbor's hair dryer and the cars on the street, and yes there are unhoused persons on the streets, but it was all fine. My only wish for the rooms was blackout curtains instead of the wooden shutters and a bigger window for better natural light, but other than that, it was pretty ideal! I slept like a rock and felt super safe the whole time. Would stay here again.

We stayed here in May 2023 and it was an overall great stay. 100% I would recommend to any of my friends. The staff were friendly. The location is great as it’s only 10 or so minutes to Disneyland + there are tons of restaurants around. It’s also close to the Garden Walk (Cheesecake Factory!). The rooms are very spacious with plenty of places to put luggage that won’t get in the way. The free breakfast was more than satisfactory to load up before a gruelling day at the Park. There are some nitpicks for me though that bring me down to a 4 star review. The hot tub is small and was often full of people. The breakfast, though more than good enough for me lacked selection - there was always an egg and potato option, but didn’t have items I would normally see at breakfasts like having more than 1 type of tea, more than 1 yogurt flavour and only 1 flavour of jam (and no peanut butter). The hotel is also conveniently located beside a bus stop and 7-11, but with that you get a lot of homeless and mentally ill people hanging around (but I never felt unsafe).

My family and I stayed here last week on our 4th visit to Disneyland. This is by far my favorite out of all the hotels we have stayed at. This hotel may not be across the street from Disney but it is literally a 5 minute walk and in the area. This hotel is nice and clean. There is a 711, other food places and gift shops close by. The hotel itself has its own place to order food (the food was amazing and there is a good variety of what you can order). There is even no charge to have them deliver the food to your room. The rooms itself were clean and the layout worked for our party of 5. Depending on what room you’re in fireworks are visible. The hotel provides an awesome continental breakfast. From the breakfast room you can see the back of Cars land and The Guardians of the Galaxy ride (previously tower of terror). The pool is beautiful and this hotel also has a nice little self serve convenience store in the lobby where you can purchase snacks, water bottles, keychains, shirts, and more all using your phone or card. We already can’t wait to stay here again on our next visit 👍🏾 (The staff was also so kind and awesome) 10/10 would recommend

We stayed here for our Disneyland trip. They had a big suite that fit 4 kids with adults. The free breakfast was nice. The hotel rooms themselves are a little outdated, but seemed clean. It's hard to beat the location though. It was about a 10 minute walk for us to the park entrance.

  • 4/5 Murray M. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed here 8 nights, the location is great for those who want to be able to walk to Disneyland (about 10-15 minute walk). The hotel was fairly clean although it is an aging hotel that shows some sign of wear/tear. Staff doesn't clean rooms each night but if you leave a request at the front desk they will make a trip to your room. They had a decent breakfast buffet with waffle makers.

We've stayed here twice & booked the family suite with 1 bedroom & full kitchen. We absolutely love it. Beautiful rooms, extremely clean, amazing customer service, the location was so convenient! Only about a 10-15 min walk to Disney security check area. Lots of convenient stores & food near by. Pretty reasonable prices too. It is our go to hotel from now on for our Disney trips!

We were here in 2012 end October, and loved it. It is walking distance to Disneyland theme park and has lots of food places nearby you can eat at. The bedrooms we were in are all clean and nicely furnished. We had a deluxe room, with a Disneyland 2-Day Park Hopper® souvenir ticket Individual Pass. They also have Shuttle Van Pick-up and return from LAX airport . I've checked through lots of Trip advisor reviews and decided on this place, as it has great reviews and also the price is affordable. Staffs are friendly too.
