For starter, I ordered the Baba Ghanoush $9- roasted eggplant, mixed with spices and topped with olive oil came with warm pita bread cut up in triangles for easy scooping, I mean dipping. Lol. Honestly though, this was so good I was basically scooping the baba ghanoush on to the pita bread. Their Lunch specials include: MEDITERRANEAN WRAP COMBOS, Available Tuesday-Saturday 11am-4pm. Your choice of meat/protein Wrapped in pita bread & served with a side of hummus and pickled turnips. So I tried their Beef Shawarma Wrap $14- Sliced fillet mignon seasoned with seven spices, pan grilled w/ onions & rolled with fries, tomato, onions, pickles and tahini sauce. I forgot to say meat well done, bit this was seasoned and cooked perfectly I honestly didn’t notice if it was not well done. I ate half and took the rest home. I ordered the Lule Kebab Wrap $14 for takeaway- Ground fillet beef mixed with onions and spices, marinated and grilled rolled with lettuce, tomatoes and hummus. This I ate the following day and it was more than enough for me, I could only eat half. The flavors exploding in my mouth made me want to eat it all though. Even warming it up in the microwave only didn’t make it soggy. For dessert I had their Baklava, there were two pieces that came with the order for $4. Just the right amount of sweetness and flakiness. These went well with my orange spiced hot tea. Service was friendly and attentive. Restroom was clean. I was able to find street parking right away. The Diplomat also takes bookings, Walk-ins. They are good for groups and/or parties, children, adults, takeaway as well as. Catering. They have table service and outdoor seating Business hours: They are closed on Mondays Tuesday-Thursday: 11:00am - 09:00pm Friday-Saturday: 11:00am - 10:00pm Sunday: 11:00am - 08:00pm

The food is incredibly delicious here. Be warned though all of the portions could quite easily feed two people. We wanted a few of the dips and they were huge portions. All in all we had a fantastic meal and would definitely come again. Lots of vegetarian options which is a bonus.

Convenient location and there are many public parking spots around. Pricing is average. Food is pretty good. I ordered Chicken Shawarma fries plate. There were 4 of us, so food didn’t take too long to come out. When we needed a box to go, my friend had to go ask because it was hard to wave down the waitress. It was very loud inside because one party was laughing super loud. So just be aware the place is really echoey. Not good for trying to have conversations.

Great eats, went there for a late lunch the chicken kebab comes with rice pilaf, which is a nice change from basmati. Well marinated and properly cooked chicken moist and flavorful! Hummus was great too! I would return when I am in the area!

Great food, environment, staff and owner. Great selection of alcohol, craft beer and other spirits. One of the best selection of whiskey and bourbon of any place i have been. Not cheap, but not too expensive for food and drinks. We are definitely going back.

Dang. The food was amazing. I'm vegan, and had a lot of choices. Of course the falafel platter was amazing. The hummus and pita appetizers. Amazing. There was another appetizer, don't know what it was called, but it was like a potato turnover and it was bomb. Cocktails were good and strong. Let's go back!!!

We had a wonderful lunch here, we sat outside and it was very comfortable. We had two appetizers , Brussel sprouts and fried cauliflower, and both were very good. I had a chicken kabob and the meat was jucey and delicious. The cocktail was nice and had real rose pedals in it. There is a great selection of beer and cocktails.

Amazing food and service! My first time here and I loved everything! Our waiter was nice and attentive. There’s outdoor seating and it was a nice quiet evening. Perfect for a date night or night with with family or friends. The food was delicious. Tasty drinks and the portions are perfect for sharing. If you’re looking for a Mediterranean restaurant I highly recommend coming here!

This is a nice place to eat on a weekday lunch. That's when I was there. Not too busy and good atmosphere. The service was friendly and nice. I had a bowl of the vegetable soup and a Greek salad with filet mignon. The filet was so tender and delicious. It's been a long time since I had such a tender piece of meat. They have a great selection of whisky too although I didn't have any drinks. Great place for a nice lunch. I plan on going back.

Staff that cares! Great place. Wonderful food. Seems lately customer service is a thing of the past. NOT here. The staff if Friendly, they accommodate seating requests if possible. I get cold , so not sitting outside or by the door makes for a better dining experience. They do keep the door open for outside diners, which can be chilly for those on the inside. They are very knowledgeable in wine selection and know how to pair well with the entrées. One super bonus, lots of gluten free selections!!!

Food is really good, they have traditional options, and meat with salads. Salad was very tasty. I took a star away for lack of ambiance. Inside is very basic , and loud. It's not a place for dates , birthdays, celebrations, but a solid good place to eat. Service was good, nobody was rushing as out, something what must be very appreciated these days.

My daughter Cloe and I had dinner at the bar last night, where the charming Michael & super friendly lucy. They attended to us, had great conversation and felt welcomed throughout. We had the appetizer plate, Greek salad with a chicken skewer and my favorite, the lamb chops. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious. My only regret was not taking photos of the food to share.

This place has consistently good food. The prices are good, the portions are good, so is service and menu selection. The bar is amazing with dozens of fine spirits but I've only had beer here. Parking is easy. And wait times have been short. In short-its a nice place to go to for Mediterranean food

Probably the best Mediterranean-Lebanese food I've ever had, and I've live in and around Glendale, CA for 23 years. Top shelf ingredients and cooking. Wine and whiskey selection is beyond compare, with dozens and dozens of solid favorites and unique bottles. Highly recommended. Worth the trip for the food, charming atmosphere, and wonderful wait staff.

I stumbled upon this jewel while exploring Monrovia. The falafel was the absolute best I've ever had. I also enjoyed the red sangria. I definitely will be returning.

Absolutely delicious chicken shawarma wrap!! The hummus and pita were great as well. We went on a work lunch so I wasn't able to try the cocktails but they looked fun and inspired. Might be an excuse to visit Monrovia in the future just so I can go back!

OK so my friend and I have been trying to go to dinner to celebrate my birthday for several months which was in July! I live in Silverlake she lives in Monrovia. We were finally able to get together for dinner tonight at The Diplomat and let me tell you how amazing it was! We shared the fried cauliflower the lamb appetizer, the Greek salad and the lamb chops which were ALL unbelievable! Even the rice that came with the lamb chops was mouthwatering b I commented that it had to have butter in it and they said it doesn’t and I was totally shocked because it tasted so buttery! I don’t know what they do to it but it was The best I have ever had. The lamb chops were SO flavorful! I have had lamb chops from so many different places and I have to say these were the best I have EVER sunk my teeth in! So incredibly moist and flavorful! The owners Lucy and Joey were phenomenal! So hospitable and incredible conversations with both of them about their journey to Monrovia. Plus our server Stephanie was such a joy to meet and so accommodating You can tell she enjoys what she does. It seems like such a family oriented place and neighborhood favorite. I will definitely definitely go back! it’s a hidden treasure and one I am so glad My friend introduced me to it!

Located in Old Town Monrovia off Myrtle Ave, this hidden gem is a place to try. I don't usually eat Mediterranean food or vegan but I gave it a shot and they didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, though a little excessive on the rice portion. Great decor and staff. Will come back again. Not sure why Myrtle Ave isn't busier during the weekends. Great food, bars and shops to catch your eye.
