This was my first opportunity to ride the Matterhorn since now all of my kids are big enough! A nice, smooth ride. We absolutely loved it.

This is a cool bobsled style single rider rollercoaster. It has an average wait time of 40-60 minutes and tends to break down quite a bit but it’s also one of the first roller coasters in the western hemisphere.

Another great Rollercoaster like experience ride at Disneyland. I really enjoy Matterhorn Bobsleds ride because it's fun and fast. The standby lines for when I went was non existence so we were able to basically just walk to the gate to be seated in the ride. It felt like the ride was only 10 seconds because it was so fast. I took off my hat on this ride since I didn't want to lose my Project Rock hat and put my sunglasses away so it wouldn't fly away.

Disneyland Matterhorn is probably my favorite Disney ride currently and of all time. There are 2 sides. Most people and myself think the left is faster and more exciting. However, it's more rough riding! The right is a little more placade and smooth but still fun regardless! It feels like a different experience between night and day as well. Just don't forget to remain seated please!

It's nice that they have updated this ride. It still thrashes you around though so if you have a sore neck I would avoid it. It's lots of fun but the line can get really long. The fast pass line also moves pretty slowly. Hopefully this will subside once the ride isn't as new (from re-opening)

This is one of the best rides in Disneyland and you can't find it in any other park so don't miss it!

The last time I had visited Disneyland this ride was closed and I was so disappointed at not getting the opporunity to ride it. This time it was open and I made sure to ride it twice-once for now and once for all those years ago. Lightning lane is the way to go to not have to overly wait for this ride. Set up like a Swiss bobsled with 3 seats per car you really have to rush to get all your gear secure so that you are ready to take off into your adventure. The ride starts off in the dark as you are climbing the lift hill and beyond. So, for a while was wondering if there would be any light. Then like a wild mouse type of ride it makes rugged twists and turns and drops that have you screaming for fun!! Inside you will hear growls of the abominable snowman as you whiz by him. The ride goes inside and out and of course my favorite was when our car pushed through the splashdown pool of water near the end. Didn't even get wet for that one. Still it was so fun. Please be aware of the fact that if you have any sort of mobility issues then it is not recommended you ride this attraction. It is noted on a sign. It always has and always will be one of my favorite attractions at Disneyland.

Matterhorn Bobsleds are my favorite ride at Disneyland. The Matterhorn opened June 14, 1959. Embark on a high speed racw while bobsleding down Matterhorm Mountain in Switzerland. The matterhorn at Disneyland is 147 feet tall and is modeled after the the glaciated Matterhorn mountain in the Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. The Alps were formed by the collision of the Adriatic and the Eurasian tectonic plates during the Late Cretaceous and Tertiary Periods. Matterhorn has an elevation of 14692 ' and was glaciated during the Pleistocene ice age 18,000 years ago. During your trip to the Alps enjoy viewing the scein waterfalls and hanging valleys. The Matterhorn maximum speed is 27 miles per hour. The Matterhorn opened June 14, 1959. The height restriction is 3′ 6″

The Matterhorn Bobsleds is super old and very jerky and rickety, but it is still very enjoyable. The yeti and ice decorations are cool and there are great views of the park on the ride. If you are willing to tolerate some clunky ride mechanics and sharp jerks, this ride is a great time. Go in the single rider line if you want to save a ton of time.

The Bobsleds used to be fun. I do love the concept and how it was remodeled with the Yeti and how he follows you through the ride. The only issue I have is we always get sent to the left hand side of the ride. We rode on both side of the mountain and the left hand side is way more bumpy and not smooth at all. The right-hand side is usually smoother but has been recently only for the Lightening Lane riders only. Overall it is a fun ride but stay away if you do not want to get jostled around a bit.

Be prepared to have your joints shaken! Still fun, but you can tell how old the ride is.

It's a favorite due to the nostalgia of it, the ride itself is very rough and jerky it can cause all types of back and neck injuries. It is extremely outdated. But it's still fun, hold on tight. The queue is always crowded and cute music plays while you are waiting. The abominable snowman even has a plush for sale.

This ride was good, but it was very jerky and rough. The sound effects were cool but it may be a little to loud for people sensitive to hearing. For me at least, I didn't get too wet. There were no big drops either, so no need to be scared!

Here's why I rated this great older ride a 3, its because the ride is so bumpy and your will have a headache and backache afterwards, that's a promise. The ride itself is great and the sound effects are pretty 😨, but the ride is very dizzying and we also lost a water tumbler on, thats our fault.

OH MY GOD THIS IS ONE OF MY TOP RIDES AT DISNEYLAND NOW. I have been wanting to go on this ride for years now but every time it has gotten closed whether for refurbishment or technical issues. I thought the day I went would be the same as there was a lot of rain and it had closed but luckily it reopened. I stepped into the bobsled, and although the seat was soaked and I afterwards was drenched in rain I loved it, every second of it. The ride in it of itself is already great but when you add the weather conditions I feel as if it elevated the experience. It was foggy and raining so it just made you more immersed in the ride. It felt more realistic, as if you were truly being hunted down by the abominable snowman. I recommend this ride, more so in the rain and fog because that is an experience like no other.

Matterhorn is fun, but it’s not much of a coaster as it features no real drops

  • 3/5 Ryan P. 1 year ago on Google
The bobsleds were smoother and easier to get in and out of before they modernized them. I can no longer ride this because I am 6 feet tall and my legs literally do not fit into the bobsled. I can not sit in the seat.

A PIECE of roller coaster history for sure. The FIRST ever steel roller coaster! It is a rough ride but I always come off of it asking for more! A go to attraction!

One of the most thrilling rides at Disneyland! Fast acceleration and tight turns right near the mountain’s edge make you scream for joy! Would definitely recommend if you have the chance. No sudden, surprise drops in the dark. It is very enjoyable for someone who hates large roller coasters with extreme drops. Please check it out!

Fun ride with lots of twist and turns to excute most riders. There were a few times my behind can off the coaster seat and I felt light I was floating.

I love it for what it is the ride is so much better after the upgrade to the cars with 1 rider per seat. The small world side is slower and the tomorrow land side is faster. You can get single rider option here and save a lot of time waiting in line.

When I think Disneyland two things pop into my mind, Sleeping beauty Castle and The Matterhorn bobsleds. Built in 1959, this agro crag has been standing watch over the border of Tomorrowland and fantasyland for more than 6 decades. I have always wanted to ride it, but being an east coast guy I never thought id have the opportunity. Well, in June of 2022 I got to visit Disneyland and this attraction did not disappoint. It's a little bumpy and jerky but that's part of the experience on these older landmark coasters.

We waited over an hour for this ride and it was not worth it at all. the que was boring, not enough shade. Once on the ride it was VERY jerky, slow and shaky. The older version was a lot smoother and faster... not going on it again until it's fixed

Absolutely amazing ride, very exhilarating, very fun, and very fast. Almost no wait (Around 11:00 pm on a weekend). At one point the bobsled went through water, did not get that wet, just a little splash. Sled wend all the way up the mountain (pictured) and descended quickly
